On the Sunday edition of Wrestling Observer Live, Andrew Zarian is joined by Matt Ryan of Catalyst Wrestling to break down the week’s news.

One of the biggest stories in the history of wrestling happened as Vince McMahon announced his retirement from WWE. Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan have been named co-CEOs.

ROH Death Before Dishonor was on Saturday night. We break down the card, including Claudio Castagnoli winning the ROH World Championship and FTR defending the Tag Titles against the Briscoes in another classic.

Plus, Jonathan Gresham apparently is done with AEW/ROH after having an apparent altercation with Tony Khan, and a little bit more on WWE possibly going to TV-14.

Wrestling Observer Live: Dave Meltzer on WWE TV-14 story, Vince McMahon allegations

On the Sunday edition of Wrestling Observer Live, I am joined by Dave Meltzer for the first half of the show. We discuss the news of WWE Raw possibly returning to TV-14, why this is happening, and if it could change the television product going forward.

Dave and I also follow up on the latest on the Vince McMahon allegations, including if there will be any other significant claims coming out. This also reminded me about Vince and Dave being on Phil Donahue’s show in the 90s.

I talk the latest on the WWE SummerSlam card, what matches are looking to steal the show, how Liv Morgan can retain the SmackDown Women’s title, and if Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns will deliver?

We also talk Ric Flair’s Last Match, ROH Death Before Dishonor, and more!

Wrestling Observer Live: Vince McMahon allegations, WWE & AEW’s week ahead

On the Sunday edition of Wrestling Observer Live, I am back discussing all the latest news in pro wrestling, available on YouTube above or via the link below.

Obviously, the biggest story of the week were the new allegations against Vince McMahon that he paid out over $12 million in secret hush money to four women. I discuss what is known from the Wall Street Journal article and speculate if it’s even possible to remove him from the company at this point.

I also run down this week’s SmackDown, including if Liv Morgan’s SmackDown Women’s title run will last long-term.

Also, let’s look ahead to SummerSlam. I preview the matches we know as of now and speculate on what else will be added.

AEW Rampage featured a great match between Eddie Kingston and Konosuke Takeshita. Will all the great work Eddie is doing lead to a title run at some point?

Additionally, I preview this week’s AEW Fyter Fest, ROH Death Before Dishonor, and your questions.

Mat Men: The next generation of wrestling stars has arrived

Andrew Zarian and Rich Stambolian are back with another episode of Mat Men, discussing all the latest news in professional wrestling.

Just as we were set to record, a story about new allegations against Vince McMahon dropped via a new Wall Street Journal story. We try to break it down and give our thoughts on what this means going forward. Including the possibility of Vince being removed altogether.

WWE Money in the Bank was last Sunday and we discuss the fallout from the show including Theory winning the men’s MITB briefcase and Liv Morgan walking away with the SmackDown Women’s title. Will they give her a proper run?

We also give some late thoughts on the recent AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view and Blood & Guts from last week as Rich gushes over Claudio Castagnoli.

This week’s AEW Dynamite was another solid show that included Warlow winning the TNT title and being part of the next generation of stars in wrestling. Also, Jon Moxley defended his interim AEW title and Christian Cage is the new “hot” heel.

Also, we talk about Ric Flair’s Final Match card, ROH Death Before Dishonor, New Japan allowing cheering, your questions, and more!

Wrestling Observer Live: WWE Money in the Bank recap, AEW Blood & Guts fallout

On the Sunday edition of Wrestling Observer Live, I was joined by Matt Ryan of Catalyst Wrestling to discuss all the latest in pro wrestling from this past week.

WWE Money In The Bank was Saturday night and we have a new SmackDown Women’s champion as Liv Morgan cashed in her newly won contract to defeat Ronda Rousey.

Also, Theory won the men’s Money In The Bank as a late addition. What does this mean for him and will we see him as WWE Universal Champion anytime soon?

We look at AEW’s strong week including late takes on Forbidden Door. Who stood out the most? Should AEW and New Japan run this joint show more frequently or keep it to just an annual event?

Blood and Guts on Wednesday turned out to be a wild event, setting up multiple programs — most notably Eddie Kingston and Claudio Castagnoli. Andrew and Matt give their thoughts on the show and how this stack up to other War Games-style matches.

All this and more!

Wrestling Observer Live: Final AEW Forbidden Door preview, WWE notes & news

Andrew Zarian is back with an all-new Sunday edition of Wrestling Observer Live to talk about the latest news including a preview of Sunday’s AEW/NJPW Forbidden Door.

With a little help from Producer Matt, Andrew runs down tonight’s Forbidden Door card, what surprises we might see, and who we think is facing Zack Sabre Jr.

Injuries have been a big problem in putting this card together. We give you the latest injury report and discuss how that’s changed the card.

Stephanie McMahon’s appointment as WWE Chairwoman and CEO was made by other board members, not by her family or Nick Khan. This goes against previous reports that her leadership was in question.

Also, Andrew gives you a few notes from WWE SmackDown this week and a preview of Money In The Bank next weekend.

On this edition of Wrestling Observer Live, Andrew is solo this week discussing the latest in pro wrestling this week.

SmackDown was a better show this week, with Gunther winning the Intercontinental Championship and Riddle getting a title shot next week against Roman Reigns.

New Japan’s Dominion show took place this morning and we have a new IWGP World Heavyweight Champion after Jay White defeated Kazuchika Okada. What does this mean heading into the Forbidden Door pay per view? Andrew speculates what match we likely will see.

There’s also a rundown of AEW television this week, the new title introduced on Dynamite, and is Jeff Hardy really going to compete in another ladder match?

In the last segment we open up the mailbag and Andrew answers the listener’s questions!

It’s a brand new episode of We’re Live, Pal.

We wonder why Stephanie is being talked about negatively after taking a leave of absence from WWE and how it could be a changing of the guard at the company.

We talk about Cody Rhodes’ injury and what WWE will do now to create a top babyface.

Lastly, we look at the World title picture at AEW after CM Punk’s injury and go over the scenario scheduled for AEW Dynamite and NJPW Dominion.

Wrestling Observer Live: Cody Rhodes injury, AEW World Title picture, Hell in a Cell

On a Sunday Hell in a Cell preview edition of Wrestling Observer Live with yours truly, Will Washington of the Grapsody Podcast joins the show.

We discuss CM Punk’s injury this past week and what it means for the AEW World title picture going forward. We now know how they will determine an interim champion and we give our thoughts.

Besides Punk’s injury, there were several other injuries this week including AEW’s Scorpio Sky and Bryan Danielson and on the WWE side, Cody Rhodes tore his pectoral muscle while weightlifting.

With Hell in a Cell tonight, we run down the card and talk about how little interest there seems to be for this premium live event.

We also talk Friday’s Rampage, NXT In Your House, MJF’s promo Wednesday and plenty more.

Mat Men: MJF shoots, DoN aftermath, Hell In a Cell

On this special Friday edition of Mat Men, Andrew and Rich are back to discuss all the latest from the past week of pro wrestling.

The big story of the week was the MJF saga that started with him not showing at AEW Fan Fest and ended with an all-time scathing promo on Dynamite. We discuss the latest, including how much was real and what was a ‘work’.

We discuss all the fallout from Double or Nothing including CM Punk winning the AEW World title from Hangman Page, and the insanity that was the Anarchy in the Arena match.

We also discuss Dynamite, including CM Punk’s “Forbidden Door” challenger, the announcement of Blood and Guts, and the upcoming hair vs. hair match.

WWE has both NXT In Your House and Hell in a Cell this weekend. We run down both cards, even though there doesn’t seem to be a lot of interest in these shows.

All this, your questions, and more!
