AEW TV updates: Correction on themed shows initially listed for April

This story has been updated several times.

Despite initially being listed on a media release this week, Spring BreakThru and Playoff Palooza themed editions of AEW Dynamite and AEW Collision are not coming back in April after all.

Earlier this week, WBD rolled out their preview of HBO Max content for the month which listed both themes. However, that release was since updated and an AEW representative reached out to verify the update was accurate.

AEW Dynamite will still air on Wednesday, April 15 from Kent, Washington, with the Collision edition airing on Thursday, April 16 as opposed to that Saturday as to avoid going head-to-head with WWE WrestleMania 42. Collision will be taped following Dynamite that Wednesday.

Per usual, AEW Dynasty will be available for PPV purchase on HBO Max, preceded by a Zero Hour pre-show.

Last October’s WrestleDream will be put up in the HBO Max archives on Friday, April 17 while the first episode of AEW Collision from 2023 makes it way to the service on Friday, April 24 as they begin to fill in back episodes up to November 2024.

I swear to God, they traded hip attacks during this match like forearms.

Andretti shoved Darius into Grey, knocking her off the apron, then hit their finishes to win.

ROH World Champion Bandido defeated Dralistico to retain

There was a botched rana off the apron that took the steam out of the crowd, but Bandido got them back with a pair of dives. Bandido won with the 21-Plex.

Rush defeated AR Fox

Rush won with The Bull’s Horns.

FTR (w/ Stokely Hathaway) defeated Roderick Strong & Kyle O’Reilly

Strong & O’Reilly came out to End of Heartache by Killswitch Engage, Strong’s long-time theme on the independents. After the match, Daniel Garcia returned to run off FTR. He said he would continue to chase them until he made them pay.

Women’s title eliminator added to AEW Collision Playoff Palooza

The Ring of Honor World Championship will also be on the line at Playoff Palooza, with Bandido defending against Dralistico.

Following an angle involving both teams on Wednesday’s Dynamite, FTR will face The Paragon’s Roderick Strong and Kyle O’Reilly. FTR aligned with Stokely Hathaway on Dynamite, then attacked Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson of The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express.

Former AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland will also be in action on Saturday’s episode as he faces Blake Christian.
