CM Punk, Roman Reigns confirmed for WWE Raw WrestleMania go-home show

Before their WrestleMania match, CM Punk and Roman Reigns will have one final interaction on WWE Raw.

WWE sent out an announcement today confirming that Punk and Reigns will be “under one roof” for Raw’s WrestleMania go-home show. The episode is being held at Sacramento’s Golden 1 Center on April 13.

No other details about the segment were announced, past that Punk and Reigns will be appearing live. Reigns, who was not on Raw this past Monday, will likely respond to the “pipe bomb-style” promo where Punk took shots at Reigns, made reference to Vince McMahon, and called for WWE to lower its ticket prices.

Punk defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Reigns is officially confirmed as the main event for WrestleMania 42 night two on Sunday, April 19.

This is the first announcement WWE has made for Monday’s go-home Raw. Brock Lesnar, who is facing off against Oba Femi at WrestleMania, is also advertised to be in the building. While Punk vs. Reigns is going on last at Mania, Lesnar vs. Femi is likely to open the night two broadcast.

Pat McAfee responds to CM Punk’s WWE Raw promo

On his ESPN show today, Pat McAfee offered a brief response to CM Punk’s WWE Raw promo.

Punk appeared on the April 6 episode of Raw and cut a promo where he mentioned Vince McMahon, advocated for lower WWE ticket prices, and referred to Pat McAfee as “Pat MAGAfee” — calling him a “no-brain hillbilly” after McAfee was inserted into the build for Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton at WrestleMania 42.

The first response from McAfee came via a tweet this morning where he described Punk as “a Punk ass bitch.” McAfee then addressed the promo on The Pat McAfee Show, claiming that — by wanting WWE to lower prices — Punk is admitting that he cannot sell out WrestleMania.

“I open my phone, go to X, go to trending. Is that me? Pat MAGAfee? What? What is that about? CM Punk, last night, called me Pat MAGAfee and attacked a lot of things,” McAfee said. “And then he would lay out why he is not worth the price of admission to WrestleMania. ‘Lower the prices now! I’m not worth that much!’ No worries, Mr. Punk. Randy Orton is here to save everything.”

The “MAGAfee” nickname is in reference to McAfee having President Donald Trump as a guest on The Pat McAfee show on Veteran’s Day last year.

McAfee will be in Orton’s corner for the WrestleMania 42 night one main event when Orton challenges Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship. The second night’s main event will then see Punk defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Roman Reigns.

In storyline, McAfee wants to save pro wrestling by elevating Orton back to the card, saying Rhodes has failed as champion with WrestleMania not being sold out. The event is being held in Las Vegas on Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19.

Liv Morgan & Roxanne Perez in concussion protocol following WWE Raw angle

Both Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez could be hurt following Raw.

During Raw, Morgan’s WrestleMania opponent Stephanie Vaquer walked in and attacked her, pushing Morgan into Perez. The two clonked heads as they fell to the floor, with Morgan being grabbed and thrown into a nearby TV set. Bryan Alvarez is now reporting that both are being evaluated for a possible concussion.

“Both Liv and Roxanne in concussion protocol after they clonked skulls HARD when Stephanie jumped Liv from behind. Hopefully we didn’t just witness a disaster affecting WrestleMania,” Alvarez wrote.

Morgan and Perez were talking about Perez’s return last week from injury. Morgan brought up that it was now former stablemate Finn Balor that brought her in. Before anything else could be said, Vaquer came in for the attack.

Perez had been out of action recently after having a benign growth removed and only returned on last week’s show, helping Morgan attack Vaquer, leading to Monday’s angle.

A possible injury to Morgan would put her match with Vaquer, the Women’s World Champion, in danger. Morgan won this year’s Royal Rumble and picked Vaquer, attacking her in the process.

WWE Raw notes: Demon Finn Balor heading to WrestleMania 42, Asuka calls out IYO SKY

Update:

WWE on social media confirmed Demon Finn Balor will face Dominik Mysterio at WrestleMania:

Original story:

Notes from Monday’s Raw in Houston.

Finn Balor was originally set to face former Judgment Day associate and protege JD McDonagh. However he was jumped backstage by McDonagh and his WrestleMania opponent Dominik Mysterio, leaving him reeling. Later backstage, Balor congratulated JD and Dominik on the beating. He hoped they could play nice, but Balor declared that playtime was now over. He hinted showing Mysterio a side of him that he’s never seen before.

“A side that I buried a long time ago,” he added. “A side that I felt was gone forever. You’ve awoken it. It’s back. And at WrestleMania, it’s coming for you.”

Balor is likely suggesting he will bring back his Demon persona at WrestleMania. The last time he did was at WrestleMania 39, when he lost to Edge in a Hell in a Cell match.

Meanwhile, Asuka cut a promo calling out her former friend IYO SKY. She accused SKY of being selfish and tearing everyone apart, including trying to wedge herself between Asuka and Kairi Sane. Asuka said she came to WWE to pave the way for SKY and Kairi and sacrificed everything to give them opportunities. She now realizes she loved her too much and she took advantage of her kindness. SKY must pay, Asuka declared, and will teach her one final lesson in the ring.

CM Punk references Vince McMahon, lower ticket prices in WWE Raw promo

CM Punk had another pipe bomb on Monday.

During his promo that opened Raw, the World Heavyweight Champion addressed his WrestleMania opponent Roman Reigns, who wasn’t there, taking shots at him, his family including The Rock, TKO, and a “weird old man,” referencing Vince McMahon.

“You’re a bucktoothed nepo baby who ate dog food for a weird, old man,” Punk said, referencing an angle involving Reigns from years ago. “That weird old man for years treated me like a dog and he expected me to smile, but I had ‘f you’ money so I took that and my dignity and left.”

Eventually, he turned his attention to Pat McAfee, who was recently revealed as the mystery caller that had been guiding Randy Orton. Punk dismissed the idea, giving McAfree a blunt instruction.

“You want to talk about ticket sales? Do me a favor and call up that agent that was foolish enough to shoehorn you into this business and this show and tell him to lower the ticket prices,” he said, causing the fans in Houston to cheer.

“Lower the ticket prices because I want all of these families to come watch me stand on Roman Reigns’ throat at WrestleMania. Because my name is CM Punk, and I approve this message,” he concluded.

Reigns did not appear during the promo. The last time the two met, it was Punk returning the favor from the previous week by sending Reigns through an announce table.

CM Punk opens Raw

The show opened with CM Punk addressing the crowd, as he put over Houston’s wrestling heritage. Punk pointed out that Roman Reigns was not in the building tonight, stating that he got some payback from being put through a table two weeks ago as he gave Reigns the same treatment last week in Madison Square Garden.

Punk said he hated Roman Reigns because he viewed him as a “store-bought and plastic” star manufactured by corporate. He pointed out that this wasn’t “cinema”, it was pro wrestling and that Reigns and his bloodline don’t run the place anymore. Punk took a shot at Reignsf or being a nepo baby who ate dog food for “a weird old man” (Vince McMahon), the same one who treated Punk like a dog, but he had dignity and left when he had the FU money.

Punk then turned his attention to Pat McAfee for his remarks on SmackDown last Friday. Punk challenged McAfee to call his ‘agent” to lower ticket prices and that he’s also got a receipt coming. He wrapped up by saying that the prices should be lowered so that families can see him step on Reigns’ neck at WrestleMania, as he stated that he approved this message.

Effective opening salvo from Punk, but as I noted on the SmackDown recap, I’m really not a fan of the Pat McAfee stuff being brought up. Punk also bringing up Vince McMahon but not alluding to him by name also didn’t sit right with me.

**********

– After a recap of LA Knight’s invasion of IShowSpeed’s stream, we got Speed himself running into Danhausen. He asked Danhausen to lift the curse that was put on him, but Danhausen only agreed to do it if he got a mention on his streams. Speed didn’t agree as Danhausen vanished.

The Vision’s Austin Theory and Logan Paul grabbed Speed and said that they were safe with him.

LA Knight vs. Austin Theory

We started off with some chain wrestling, but Knight pushed back and tossed Theory across the ring. As Theory rolled out of the ring, he re-entered and instantly got met with a Knight clothesline. After being deposited out of the ring, Knight dropped him with a dropkick to the outside. We took a break as Knight had the upper hand on Theory at the timekeeper’s area.

Our opener returned from the break as Knight went for a neckbreaker, but Theory rcountered with the Blockbuster for a close near-fall. The action spilled outside as Knight bashed Theory’s head across the commentary table. Logan Paul tried to get involved, but got taken out by Knight for his troubles.

IShowSpeed found himself caught in the fray as Logan pushed him into Knight’s path. Speed ran as fast as he could up the ramp until The Usos’ music played. As Speed was caught between a rock and a hard place, he leapt over Knight in a great show of agility and paced back into the ring. Knight gave chase, but this allowed Theory to pick up a tainted win with a roll-up pin.

Austin Theory def. LA Knight via pinfall

After the match, IShowSpeed tried to beg the Usos and Knight for forgiveness. Before the Usos could do anything to Speed, Logan Paul pulled him out of the ring.

This led to Knight asking for a six-man tag between him and the Usos against Theory, Paul, and IShowSpeed to be made for WrestleMania, as Adam Pierce made it official soon after.

I’m not too hot on this match being made, and it’s easy to see why, given the sorry state of The Vision, which was once heralded as a dangerous heel stable on Raw.

**********

– A recap of Pat McAfee’s aligning with Randy Orton from SmackDown aired.

– Finn Balor tried to make his way for a match, but he was ambushed from behind by “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio. Balor did try to fight back, but Dom and JD McDonagh used the Judgment Day numbers game to their advantage to leave Balor laying.

– AJ Lee’s interview with Michael Cole was rudely interrupted by Becky Lynch. The challenger to Lee’s Women’s Intercontinental Title dissed the champion’s last WrestleMania appearance and how she quit the day after. Lynch put over her WrestleMania acumen stating that it was “her home”.

Lee fired back by saying that people kept underestimating her and that the fans never forgot who she was even after all the years away from WWE. She closed off by telling Lynch that she should ask who Roux Lynch’s favorite wrestler his when she Becky tucked her daughter to bed, because it was AJ Lee.

**********

Bayley vs. Lash Legend

The match opned with Legend at the advantage early, but Bayley attempted to fight back. Big boot by Legend took us to the commercial break.

We returned as Legend hit Bayley with a backbreaker for a near-fall. Bayley tried to fight back as she avoided a pump-kick. The elbow drop from the heavens missed its target. In the end, Lyra Valkyria held down Legend’s leg as Bayley got the pin with a diving crossbody after countering a superplex.

Bayley def. Lash Legend via pinfall

Seth Rollins addresses GUNTHER

Seth Rollins made his way down to the ring, with the Houston crowd loudly singing his song. He was addressed as “Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins” in his entrance

As Rollins took the mic, he showed excitement and gratefulness to the Houston crowd for singing his entrance them as he had been waiting for it after six long months away from the ring.

Rollins took in the crowd singing before he declared that he was back. He talked about how in less than two weeks at WrestleMania, he was going one on one against GUNTHER. He was trying to figure out how we all got here, mainly because he and GUNTHER had no personal issues with one another. Rollins suggested that GUNTHER had a business relationship with Paul Heyman.

Rollins stated that he had two missions: to take the World Heavyweight Title he never loss, and to kill The Vision. He talked about how Logan Paul and Austin Theory had issues with The Usos, Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed were on the shelf, and that Brock Lesnar was put on a silver platter by Rollins for Oba Femi.

As Rollins addressed GUNTHER, the Ring General tried to ambush him, but Rollins got ahead of it and avoided a sleeper. The brawl spilled to the outside, as Adam Pearce and officials tried to break things up.

This Rollins/GUNTHER feud is somehow the one feud that hasn’t been a total wash in terms of the Road to WrestleMania. I’m surprised at how much I’m enjoying it.

Penta, Je’von Evans, Dragon Lee vs. El Grande Americano & Los Americanos

El Grande dropped Evans with a knee as he and Los Americanos did a dance in the middle the ring. Evans headed to the top and took everyone out. The action spilled to the outside as Lee, Evans, and Penta took out everyone with massive dives as we took a commercial break.

The match resumed from the break as Penta and Rayo Americano were the legal men. Penta connected with an amazing rolling double DDT on Los Americanos. Meanwhole in the ring, Lee hit Rayo with a basement dropkick. Lee attempted a Styles Clash, but Bravo pulled at his leg, which allowed Dragon to be hit with repeated headbutts by El Grande and Los Americanos. Evans entered and tried for the Springboard Cutter, but got hit with a forearm.

Things hit a quickening pace as Dragon Lee connected with the Styles Clash. El Grande broke up the pin as all six men were now in the ring. Dragon Lee dropped El Grande with a hurricanrana from the apron, while Penta hit the Mexican Destroyer on Rayo on the apron. Evans finished things off with the O.G. Cutter on Bravo to pick up the pin and win.

After the match Rey Mysterio showed uip to a huge ovation from the Houston crowd as he embraced Evans, Dragon, and Penta.

– Rey Mysterio talked about how cool it was for Penta’s journey to take off with him becoming the Intercontinental Champion. Mysterio said that he missed WrestleMania last year due to injury, but as for this year, he spoke with Adam Pearce. Mysterio said it was missing him . Penta agreed and seemed to welcome Rey into the Intercontinental Championship ladder match.

Je’von Evans, Dragon Lee, & Penta def. El Grande Americano & Los Americanos viua pinfall.

A heck of a tag match. I might be generally down on WWE as a whole, especially as far as the Road to WrestleMania goes. But, I find myself enjoying Je’von Evans and Penta. Seeing these two succeeding as they are always puts a smile to my face.

– Cody Rhodes’ response to Pat McAfee’s actions from SmackDown last Friday later that evening was shown.

– A recap of Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi’s Madison Square Garden showdown was shown.

RHIYO (Rhea Ripley & IYO SKY) vs. B-Fab & Michin (w/ Jade Cargill)

Ripley slammed B-Fab down and punched away at her. She then took her out with a fierce clothesline. Ripley threw Michin into the ring and laid her out with a kick before tossing her to the ringside area. B-Fab took advantage and hit Ripley with a strike before she worked her over in the coner. B-Fab than hit a DDT on RIpley for a two-count.

B-Fab locked in a chinlock on Ripley for a good while before it was broken up with a snapmare. Ripley tagged in SKY while Michin entered for her team. Double stomp to Michin by SKY, who dropped B-Fab by the neck across the ropes. This left B-Fab and Michin at the mercy of a double dropkick from SKY. B-Fab and Michin were then rattled by a suicide dive by SKY as we took a break in the action.

Raw returned from commercial with SKY at the mercy of a two-on-one attack from B-Fab and Michin as they took control during the break. While the referee was distracted, Jade Cargill tripped up Ripley at the apron to prevent her from tagging SKY. Back in the ring, SKY rolled up B-Fab with a flash pin for the win.

After the match, Cargill laid out SKY, as Michin grabbed a kendo stick, looking to do damage, Ripley entered the ring and tried to even the odds, but a pump kick from Cargill put her out for the count. With Ripley held against the ropes by B-Fab and Michin, Cargill took the kendo stick and turned her attention to SKY. Cargill then finished her off with Jaded.

RHIYO def. B-Fab & Michin via pinfall

I can’t tell you how this feud is leaving me cold. Cargill is just not a good heel, and the inexplicable alliance between her, B-Fab, and Michin does not interest me as a heel faction.

**********

– Finn Balor addressed Dominik Mysterio and stated that a side he had buried a long time ago as he said that it was coming back at WrestleMania, hinting that he was bringing The Demon back to deal with Dom.

– Stephanie Vaquer attacked Liv Morgan in the Judgment Day clubhouse, throwing her right into the TV.

Oba Femi/Brock Lesnar WrestleMania contract signing

During the commercial break, Paul “Triple H” Levesque was shown entering the ring and confiding with Adam Pearce as they’ll oversee the Femi/Lesnar contract signing.

Pearce addressed the crowd, and stated that over the last couple of weeks, we’ve seen the birth of a true clash of heavyweight titans at WrestleMania between Oba Femi & Brock Lesnar. Before Pearce could continue, Paul Heyman butted in as only he could. Heyman talked about this match being the most anticipated match in WrestleMania history and how Oba Femi couldn’t measure up to Brock Lesnar.

At that moment, Lesnar made his entrance. Soon after, Pearce introduced Femi, as “The Ruler” made his way down to the ring to a loud ovation.

As Femi entered, Lesnar went on the attack before Femi fought back as security ran down post-haste to break everyone up… or at least try to. Even with everyone attempting to separate Femi and Lesnar, the brawl continued on. Lesnar and Femi tossed a chair at one another as the show ended rather abruptly.

**********

As with most overused Triple H booking tropes, the pull apart brawl is one that’s gotten a bit too much use over the past couple of weeks, between Femi/Lesnar, Punk/Reigns, and Rhodes/Orton. This final segment didn’t exactly feel that exciting and enticing me to watch WrestleMania for the Femi vs. Lesnar match. The rather abrupt ending before anything truly could break down didn’t help matters either.

All in all, this was kind of an okay Raw. Maybe my lack of excitement for WrestleMania season kind of colored how I reacted to the show tonight, but nothing really grabbed my interest. That said, the six-man tag match was a highlight and the actual matches themselves tend to be enjoyable. It’s just the overall storytelling in WWE that’s been failing for the most part.

Three matches, one segment announced for WWE Raw

WWE Raw General Manager Adam Pearce has announced the lineup for Monday’s show.

Seth Rollins will kick off Raw this week, Pearce revealed on Sunday. Rollins was attacked by Gunther on last week’s show, setting up their match for WrestleMania.

And two-time holders of the World Tag Team titles, Finn Balor and JD McDonagh, will meet in singles competition as well.

Austin Theory vs. LA Knight is also set for the show.

Previously announced are segments involving CM Punk, as well as Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar.

The Monday, April 6, 2026 edition of WWE Raw is scheduled for the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. The updated lineup is below.

WWE Raw lineup for Monday, April 6, 2026:

  • Seth Rollins to kick off the show
  • We will hear from CM Punk
  • Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar will be in the same building
  • Finn Balor vs. JD McDonagh

  • Austin Theory w/Logan Paul vs. LA Knight

Peter Rosenberg responds to IYO SKY clip, tells wrestlers ‘don’t bother with these dives’

When he interacts with WWE talent, radio host and commentator Peter Rosenberg advises them to avoid doing moves like suicide dives.

A clip from Monday’s Raw has been going around social media showing IYO SKY coming up short while trying to hit Asuka with a dive. While attempting the move, SKY contacted the ropes and wasn’t able to get enough air, falling on her head/neck before reaching her intended target. Rosenberg responded to the clip by saying that he wishes wrestlers would avoid moves like this because of how little upside they have.

“This is why I tell whoever I can at evolve and even on the main roster — don’t bother with these dives,” Rosenberg wrote.” They are all risk — no reward. If you successfully hit a suicide dive in 2026 no one cares, But if you mess it up you could truly harm yourself! Don’t do it.”

Rosenberg is part of the commentary team for WWE Evolve, which focuses on Performance Center recruits and WWE ID prospects. He also is a panelist on PLE pre-shows and post-shows and hosts SiriusXM’s Cheap Heat.

After receiving some pushback from fans for making a comment like this as a non-wrestler, Rosenberg posted a follow-up.

“People seem upset I posted this. It came only from a place of sincere care,” he wrote. “Iyo is amazing and one of the best on earth and it still presents a huge risk. I just think the risks outweigh the reward. I say this as a huge fan and someone who is privileged enough to be up close and personal with this business. I am not a wrestler and never put my body on the line. My respect for those who do it is undying. That said — I have opinions for a living . And my opinion is this move is not dope enough to be worth it anymore.”

SKY lost to Raquel Rodriguez on Monday’s Raw after Asuka and Kairi Sane got involved. A match between SKY and Asuka could potentially be added to the card for WrestleMania 42.

Bryan Alvarez’s WWE Raw review: Punk, Reigns & a lot of new WrestleMania matches

Editor’s note: This week’s WWE Raw review is free for all to read.

Show opened with Cody Rhodes coming out.

He was just getting started when some music hit and out came Stephanie McMahon. Fans chanted her name. Cody said he was surprised to see her. Well, she said, my name is Stephanie McMahon, and this is the house my GRANDFATHER built, Madison Square Garden.

OK, he said, so what do you want to talk about? She said she wanted to talk about Cody and Randy and WrestleMania…only Cody wasn’t going to like what she had to say. You talked about where you used to sit at Center Stage.  Well, I used to sit over there and Andre would squeeze my leg and give me the office as he came to the ring. We’re multigenerational talent, we know what it means to be on top unlike everyone else. You took the golden path, and that’s amazing, you stayed true to yourself, and you actually believed you could bring out the best in people. But you can’t this time with this version of Randy Orton. This version is diabolical, and Cody you don’t have to be diabolical, but you have to be able to think like that.  You have to be able to think like Randy. Your father understood that better than anybody.  Dusty could roll with the best of them.  But from what I’ve seen, you are not your father.  This version of Cody can’t beat this version of Randy Orton.

Fans booed.  You have no idea who you’re dealing with, she said. We got dueling chants for Cody and Randy.

Cody said the last thing I would ever want is to be rude to you, but you think I don’t know who Randy is.  I know everything about him, he was the youngest champion in company history, the legend killer, I know he was doing stuff so vile that we can’t show it today, and I know some of that stuff was to you.  I know there is a whole swath of WWE that want this student/teacher dynamic, but I’m not a student anymore.  I used to have to sit in the car and turn the music down as he was drooling all over himself to make sure he was breathing.  I’m not my father, you’re right, but with all due respect, you’re not yours either.

That got a huge reaction. She slapped him.

I am out here because I care about you, she said, and you don’t have anyone giving you any guidance.  You don’t understand what this Randy is capable of, he doesn’t need a babysitter.  You have to understand he’s not just listening to the voices in his head, he beckons them, he can control them, and he’s also listening to someone else as well.  So unless you can learn to think like him, you’re gonna lose that title.

She went to leave but he grabbed her arm, spun her around, and said he had two words for her — “Thank you.”  FANS BOOED THAT LIKE CRAZY. She smirked.

This segment was so cornball.

IShowSpeed met with Danhausen and begged him to uncurse him.

Danhausen tried to blackmail him, but Speed wasn’t down with that. Adam Pearce then told him not to worry about it: tonight, he was front row for Usos vs. Vision, and LA Knight would be guest commentator. Pearce and Danhausen then had a very awkward moment.

Usos did a dive, they went right to commercial, and came back for the heels beating them down with trash cans and the like.  In the ring, I might add.  A table was set up in the corner.  “LET’S GO USOS!” chants.  Usos made a comeback and ran wild.  They put the trash can on Logan’s head and superkicked him, then put the can on Austin’s head and clobbered him with kendo stick shots.  They took him up top and put him through a table with a double superplex.  Logan on the outside went over to ringside and found HIS MOTHER, who gave him brass knuckles out of her purse.  LA went to beat his ass, but Speed was right there and he got yanked over the barricade as well, and got his hands on the knux.

LA grabbed him and Speed knocked him out.  Fans chanted, “YOU F*CKED UP!”  Speed was petrified and got the hell out of there.  Logan then got the knux, returned to the ring, and tried to clobber Jimmy.  Jimmy ducked and we got a superkick party.  Jey speared Theory, then Jimmy went for a tope.  Logan clobbered and KO’d him. Jey hit a dive onto Logan, but it was too late. A half-dead Theory put his hand on Jimmy and pinned him and they won the titles as expected.

This was fine for what it was, but wasn’t like some great street fight or anything. It was more about the story of the match.

Liv Morgan came out for a promo.

Stephanie, she said, you’re done for, b*tch.  It’s one thing to attack me, but to attack my family, to attack Dom, I’d like to say I’m surprised but you don’t have family here, do you?  But you want to berate me and say I hide behind my man, but you always attack me from behind.  I know you’re proud of where you come from, but this is where I come from, and where I come from it’s on sight.  My mother also taught me to never let anyone get the better of me.  She then buried Steph’s mother in Spanish, so out came Stephanie Vaquer.

She stormed to the ring and a brawl broke out.  Steph laid her out with a superkick and grabbed a chair, but then got jumped from behind by Roxanne Perez.  Well, that answers the question of whether Roxanne was going to return and side with Finn Balor, who was the guy who brought her into Judgment Day in the first place.  They laid out Steph with an oblivion onto a chair.  Liv called her a stupid b*tch and said she was so much better than Steph.

Theory and Logan were celebrating with Speed backstage.

Speed said he didn’t mean to get involved.  Logan said now you have real enemies. Paul Heyman showed up and told him to relax, he was in good hands: the tag team champions.  He told them to all go out and have a celebratory dinner tonight.  Heyman told him he was going to be fine, but then when they left, he said the Usos were going to kill him.

Pearce then showed up and asked if Heyman had checked his email. Heyman ridiculed him about sending an email, and left.

Bayley & Lyra Valkyria vs. WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Lash Legend & Nia Jax

Babyfaces ran wild early and hit a series of dives and dropkicks through the ropes. They went to break and came back for Nia beating up Lyra.  They teased the hot tag a few times, then Lyra hit an enzuigiri on Lash and a DDT and made the tag.  Bayley almost immediately got booted in the face by Lash and Nia got some heat on her next.  Nia tried the annihilator, but Bayley went underneath and hit a walking powerbomb.  Lyra tagged in and went up top for the moonsault, but Lash broke it up.

It broke down into a four-way and Lash hit a big lariat, then a running uppercut for the quadruple down.  Bellas then started heading to ringside, followed by Charlotte and Alexa.  These four got into an argument at ringside, then Nia and Lash went outside and started taking out all of them.  Lash rammed Bayley into the apron.  Nia hit a horrific slam on Lyra, dropped her right on her ass in the most uncomfortable manner possible, then Alexa and Charlotte just hit the ring for the DQ.

Lame finish. Crowd didn’t give a sh*t.  None of this feels important, it just feels like angles every week to set up a multi-person women’s tag match to get everyone on the big show of the year.

-We got a Brock vs. Oba video package.

-They showed from clips during the break of Danhausen announcing the Madison Square Garden Saturday Night’s Main Event coming up.

Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman came out and the fans were loudly chanting for Oba Femi.

Heyman said he was out here tonight to pontificate on the perils that await Oba Femi.  Two weeks ago, he said, Brock was distracted by Seth Rollins and caught off guard by Oba.  Last week, right here on Raw, Brock was not dressed to fight, he came out to have a man to beast conversation with Oba, but of course Oba decided to pick a fight when Brock just wanted to talk.

If you notice, he said, tonight Brock is dressed to fight. Because he’s authorized me to let everyone know that he’s seen people try to take down Brock for 25 years, but every time they come face-to-face with Brock they piss their pants.

Brock suddenly grabbed the mic and said enough, Oba Femi get your ass out here right now.

Pearce came out instead.  He said that would not be happening tonight.  My job is to preserve my main events for WrestleMania, and that’s precisely what I’m going to do.  So with all due respect, Brock, I’m sorry, that’s not happening and you guys need to leave the ring.

The lights then went out and Oba’s music hit.  Place went nuts and sang him to the ring.  Security went after him and Oba destroyed dudes left and right, including giving one of them the tossing back suplex onto the f*cking FLOOR.  Pearce got in his face and Oba shoved him into the barricade.  Place was going wild.  He danced around the ring, finally got inside, and the fans chanted, “HOLY SH*T!”

They had the big staredown and were about to go at it when Hunter hit the ring and got between them.  They still went face to face and Hunter had to worm his way between and scream at Heyman to get Brock out of here.  Fans were NOT happy about that.

On the way out, Brock grabbed some bloke and gave him an F-5 on the floor.  Many men died to get this segment over.

This feels like the hottest match on the entire card. If Oba is beating him, it absolutely should main event night one.

Finn Balor promo

He said the Judgment Day ran the place for four years, but he had many regrets, especially thinking he could make a man out of Dom.  He said when Dom turned his back on his father, it was Finn he turned to.  I was the one who stepped up for you.  You didn’t lose the IC Title because of me, you lost because you’re a self-entitled jackass.  I’ll admit it, I’m guilty, I helped create that jackass, I’m responsible for creating you.  So now, I’m responsible for destroying you at WrestleMania.

This was good.

Penta vs. Kofi Kingston for the Intercontinental Title

They went back and forth early until Kofi managed to give Penta a backdrop on the apron for some heat.  Grayson Waller and Kofi got into an argument outside heading into the break.  They came back for Penta hitting a kick and setting up his comeback.  He hit the sling blade, but then ate an SOS for two.  Kofi and Penta brawled outside, Kofi got back into the ring, and Waller threw Kofi back into the ring.  Kofi started yelling at him, saying he wanted to do this by himself, and called Waller a dummy.

Penta pulled Kofi outside and gave him a Randy Orton back suplex onto the table.  Waller started laughing at Kofi, saying it looks like you do need me, at which point Penta flew in and hit the destroyer on Waller outside.  He threw Kofi in, came off the top, and Kofi hit a surprise trouble in paradise.  Penta kicked out.  “PENTA!” chants.  They fought up top and Kofi tried a superplex, but Penta tossed him off and hit a Panama sunrise off the middle rope for the pin in a good match.

Jackie Redmond interviewed Penta afterward. She asked if there was any chance he’d tell them what he was planning for WrestleMania.  Penta said for anyone who dared, he’d talked to Pearce and it was done.  At WrestleMania, the title was gonna hang above the ring. If you want it, climb up and pull it down. Yes, we are getting a ladder match for Mania.

Pearce, not really selling anything, ran into Heyman and asked where Brock was.

Pearce said I notice you were on your phone, any interesting emails today.  I don’t do emails, Heyman said.  That was hilarious. Heyman said he was heading to the ring right now.

Paul Heyman went to the ring for a promo.

First, he celebrated the Vision winning the tag titles.  He said he tried to do something special for everyone, he tried to give back to the community.  He tried to give everyone live tonight a Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi battle, but that wannabe mid-level suck-up GM —

— Pearce interrupted and said he was sick of this.  I’ve tried to help you out but I’ll ask again.  HAVE YOU CHECKED YOUR EMAIL TODAY?

Paul said I’m a wise man, a GOAT, a Hall of Famer, and activist, whatever.  But there is nothing that you will ever tell me that I don’t already know.

Pearce said is that so? So you know that Boston Police Department has dropped all charges against Seth Rollins. Surely, you know that, right?

Paul said of course I knew that, but he was nervous.  Am I supposed to be afraid?  I’m a native New Yorker in my hometown, I fear no man, I’m the last manager standing, and MSG can testify I’m the last promoter standing from the 1990s which brought out “ECW!” chants.

Pearce said you must have also read that as of this segment, Seth Rollins is medically cleared to compete.

Seth’s music hit and he snuck into the ring from behind.  He frickin’ WAFFLED Paul with a chair shot.  Looked like he might have accidentally hit him in the base of the skull.  He put Paul’s head on the chair and was about to stomp him when Gunther suddenly came in through the crowd, yanked Seth out of the rig, and choked him unconscious. Gunther then pointed to the WrestleMania sign.

My guess is that they were waiting as long as they could to see if Bron Breakker could be cleared, and it seems he won’t be cleared in time and so Gunther is going to replace him…which works, because Gunther was supposed to face Rey at Mania, but then Rey got hurt as well. This card really is cursed.

IYO SKY vs. Raquel Rodriguez

They went back and forth early and Iyo hit the big Asai moonsault to the outside heading into the break.  After the break she rolled through a spot and hit a double foot stomp to set up her big comeback.  She hit the springboard dropkick and the kip up and fired up.  She hit the double knees in the corner and went for the moonsault, but Raquel got the feet up.  Raquel pounced her for two.

Suddenly, Asuka was chasing Kairi down to the ring.  Kairi didn’t want to do anything but Asuka was demanding it.  She jumped up on the apron and Raquel to boot Iyo, but accidentally hit Kairi and sent her onto Asuka.  In the ring, Iyo hit a diving DDT on Raquel, then the bullet train. Iyo saw Asuka bullying Kairi and went for a tope, but exactly like Megan Bayne on Collision, she got her feet on the ropes and landed right on her own head.

It was actually WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY worse than Megan and it looked like she broke her neck.  But she hopped up, shook it off, and started consoling Kairi. She got back into the ring and Raquel grabbed her and hit the Tejano bomb for the pin.

I hope Iyo is OK. That was a f*cking BRUTAL landing.

-John Cena announced his Mania plans.

-Adam Pearce announced Seth vs. Gunther at WrestleMania.

Roman Reigns did a six-minute entrance before finally asking to be acknowledged.

SIX MINUTES, dude.

Punk’s music immediately hit and he at least hit the ring and they immediately brawled.  Their very first spot was mistimed as Reigns tried a lariat but Punk was in the wrong spot and Roman just ran into him.  Punk threw him outside and posted him and all the geeks ran down to break them up.  I just saw this exact same gimmick in the SmackDown main event.

Roman broke free and tried a power bomb but the geeks broke it up.  Punk then tried the GTS but the geeks broke it up.  Roman speared Petey Williams, but then Punk grabbed Roman and gave him the GTS.  Crowd chanted, “CM PUNK!”  Punk claimed he was going to leave but broke free and power bombed Punk through the table. Roman hit the back of his head on an upright monitor and that looked like it sucked.  Roman sold it like he was dead.  Punk started singing Roman’s name and pounding on him, then posed on the dasherboards.

A lot of this Mania build has been quite repetitive, the same stuff on every show, but this one was very well done.

Show was fine, not great, and Oba vs. Brock was by far the highlight.

CM Punk taunts Roman Reigns’ fans after WWE Raw: ‘The marquee says wrestling, not cinema’

CM Punk addressed Roman Reigns’ fans following their latest confrontation on WWE Raw.

The two got physical once again Monday after Reigns attacked him Punk the previous week, separated by Adam Pearce and security.

After the program went off-air, Punk mocked Reigns’ fans in the crowd for booing him, making inappropriate gestures and saying to one person, “F**k you, buddy, this is The Garden. The marquee says wrestling, not cinema, you f**king idiot.”

Reigns took a seat on a chair nearby as Punk soaked in the moment.

The past few weeks have been intense for the two as the verbal feud escalated into a physical altercation on the March 23 edition of Raw. Reigns speared and powerbombed Punk through the announcer’s desk after Jey Uso hyped him to.

The Usos reunited with Reigns after Punk’s personal remarks about Sika Anoa’i. However, Jey’s interference initially drew a mixed response from Reigns. He requested Jimmy Uso to get his brother out of ‘his’ ring last week. Moments later, as security hauled The Usos out of the ring, Jey encouraged his cousin to make the first move and attack Punk, which he eventually did.
