The full lineup for SmackDown is as follows:

Xavier Woods returns to WWE TV on SmackDown

Xavier Woods is back on WWE TV, appearing on tonight’s SmackDown.

Kofi Kingston was originally set to face Ridge Holland in a singles match. However, Kingston came out and said it wasn’t he who was going to wrestle Holland. He instead introduced Woods, who proceeded to pin Holland in a quick match.

Woods had been off television since January with torn plantaris, a muscle that is located under the calf muscle. He returned to in-ring action on March 13, wrestling at a house show in Jackson, Mississippi where he and Kingston lost to Sheamus & Holland and The Usos in a three-way match for the SmackDown Tag Team titles.

Sheamus, Holland, and Butch have been at odds with The New Day in recent weeks. On the March 11 edition of SmackDown, Big E broke his neck after a botched overhead belly to belly suplex by Holland during a match between Kingston and Shemaus. E has since said his injury will not require surgery.

Xavier Woods returns to the ring at WWE house show

Xavier Woods returned to the ring at a WWE SmackDown house show event in Jackson, Mississippi on Saturday night.

Woods teamed with Kofi Kingston in a losing effort against Ridge Holland & Sheamus and The Usos in a triple threat match that had been for the SmackDown Tag Team titles. This was his first match back since the January 7 edition of SmackDown, where The Usos defeated Woods and Kingston to retain the Tag Team titles in a street fight. He had been recovering from an injury to the plantaris muscle in his calf.

Other members of the New Day, Big E and Kingston, have been feuding with Ridge Holland and Sheamus in recent weeks. On Friday’s show, Holland gave Big E a belly to belly suplex. Big E broke his neck on impact but has all feeling in his extremities and has since given updates regarding his injury, saying his injury won’t require surgery.

Here are the full results from Saturday night’s WWE house show in Jackson:

  • The Viking Raiders defeated Los Lotharios
  • Shayna Baszler defeated Aliyah
  • Ricochet defeated Sami Zayn to retain the WWE Intercontinental title
  • Happy Corbin defeated Shinsuke Nakamura
  • The Usos defeated Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods and Ridge Holland & Sheamus in a triple threat match to retain the SmackDown Tag Team titles
  • Sasha Banks and Naomi defeated Charlotte Flair and Sonya Deville
  • Roman Reigns defeated Drew McIntyre to retain the WWE Universal title

A pair of WWE stars are among the nominees for this year’s Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.

Sasha Banks and Xavier Woods have both received Kids’ Choice Awards nominations. Banks is nominated for Favorite Female Sports Star, while Woods is nominated for Favorite Male [Social Media] Creator.

Serena Williams, Naomi Osaka, Simone Biles, Candace Parker, and Chloe Kim are also nominated in Banks’ category.

Woods is listed under the name Austin Creed, which is the name that he goes by on UpUpDownDown and other social media platforms. MrBeast, Ninja, Ryan’s World, Spencer X, and Unspeakable are the other nominees in his category.

The awards show will air live on Nickelodeon at 7:30 p.m. Eastern time on Saturday, April 9 and is being hosted by Miranda Cosgrove and former WWE 24/7 Champion Rob Gronkowski.

Voting for the awards is now open. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and John Cena are also nominated for Favorite Movie Actor.

“We can’t be denied!!,” Banks tweeted about her nomination. “The Boss is nominated for Fav Female Sports Star at the 2022 #KCAs! Vote now at kidschoiceawards.com and see who wins April 9 on @Nickelodeon”

Banks & Naomi and Rhea Ripley & Liv Morgan will challenge Zelina Vega & Carmella for the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles in a triple threat match at WrestleMania 38 night two on Sunday, April 3.

Woods has been out of action since January after suffering a torn plantaris. He said on January 13 that he expected the injury to sideline him for 4-6 weeks.

WWE’s Xavier Woods out of action due to torn plantaris

New Day’s Xavier Woods is currently out of action due to injury.

While appearing on G4’s “Attack of the Show” on Thursday night, Woods revealed that he’s out of action due to suffering a torn plantaris. Woods said he expects to be good in 4-6 weeks.

The plantaris is a muscle located underneath the calf. If Woods isn’t able to return to the ring before the 4-6 weeks timetable, he would miss the Royal Rumble.

Woods said the injury happened when he was jumping into the ring to hit a DDT.

“I was jumping in the ring to do a DDT. I spring off the bottom rope and grab the guy and then run his head into the ground, hopefully shattering all the bones in his body so I can pin him and win the match and make more money,” Woods said. “So, I did that part still. But in the process… just jumping off the ropes, so nothing like — not a shark attack, not a steel chair hit, not a machine gun, not a machete — I just jumped.”

Woods said he was limited by the injury but was able to finish the match safely.

Woods was last in action in the main event of SmackDown last Friday. He and Kofi Kingston unsuccessfully challenged for The Usos’ SmackDown Tag Team titles in a street fight.

The Usos also retained their SmackDown Tag Team titles against Woods & Kingston at WWE’s Day 1 pay-per-view on New Year’s Day.

WWE’s Xavier Woods returning to UpUpDownDown

For the first time since October 15, Xavier Woods will host a gaming stream on WWE’s UpUpDownDown YouTube channel tomorrow.

The 2021 King of the Ring will be hosting a stream from G4 headquarters beginning at 5 p.m. Eastern time on Wednesday, December 8.

Woods confirmed the return on Twitter following the announcement from UpUpDownDown.

Woods wrote:

“Gonna chat with you guys a bit on @UpUpDwnDwn from @g4tv headquarters. Prolly gonna play something as well. Y’all wanna get down on halo or Mario kart?”

Woods and other UpUpDownDown content creators had reportedly been holding out in producing video for the channel until Woods was given a larger financial incentive to do so. It was reported that any income Woods earned from UpUpDownDown and his G4 hosting gig counted against his WWE contract’s downside guarantee.

While there is no word of whether or not a new financial agreement has been reached, Woods will produce the first stream for the channel in nearly two months, and the first content of any kind posted to UpUpDownDown since November 3.

UpUpDownDown has 2.27 million subscribers on YouTube.

WWE’s Xavier Woods hosting Nickelodeon ‘Treasure Truck’ show

WWE star Xavier Woods will add another TV show to his resume as he will host Treasure Truck, a Nickelodeon holiday competition special that will debut on Wednesday, December 8th.

The news was first reported by The Wrap.

From the article:

“Nickelodeon’s Treasure Truck” brings the competition to the front yard of four families, who must compete against each other when the Nickelodeon Treasure Truck drives up with a truck-load full of amazing holiday gifts. The families put their friendships to the test as they take on three rounds of messy, holiday-themed challenges, such as the Ornament Plow, The Claw and the Snowman Shuffle, among others. After each round, one family is eliminated until only one is declared the winner and gets to take home all the gifts inside the truck.

This will be Woods’ second outing on the kids-centric network as he previously appeared on Nickelodeon’s Unfiltered.

Woods has been becoming more of a TV presence outside WWE as he has been part of the relaunched G4, first announced in November 2020. Part of the network’s Attack of the Show, he and G4 will launch his own video game competition series in 2022.

The Usos crowned Roman Reigns as king following his match against Xavier Woods on last night’s SmackDown.

Universal Champion Reigns faced off with Woods in a non-title match in last night’s main event. Paul Heyman said that, if Woods lost, he would have to acknowledge Reigns. Heyman also declared that, if Reigns lost, he would take a bended knee to King Woods. Heyman said that if Reigns didn’t, he would be stripped of the Universal Championship and banished from SmackDown.

But the match ended in a “no contest” after The Usos interfered. Woods hit a coast-to-coast elbow drop on Reigns and was going for the pin when The Usos pulled Woods out of the ring and started beating him down.

The Usos hit Woods with the steel steps and sent him over the announce table. The Usos then put Woods’ crown on Reigns’ head.

Kofi Kingston wasn’t with Woods last night after having his leg attacked by Reigns and The Usos the previous week. Reigns is set to face WWE Champion Big E in a non-title champion vs. champion match at Survivor Series on Sunday, November 21.

Ahead of their match at Survivor Series, SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair addressed Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch last night. A couple of changes were also made to SmackDown’s Survivor Series teams. Aliyah was removed from SmackDown’s women’s team, while Sami Zayn lost his spot on the men’s team.

WWE SmackDown live results: Roman Reigns vs. King Xavier

Tonight’s SmackDown takes place from the Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia.

Universal Champion Roman Reigns takes on King Xavier Woods in non-title action. Last Friday, Reigns was furious that The Usos lost to The New Day the previous week and blamed Jimmy Uso for taking the pinfall.

A match between Woods and Jimmy headlined last week’s SmackDown. If Woods won, he would have had to acknowledge Reigns. If Jimmy lost, he had to bend the knee to King Xavier.

Woods got the win, but Reigns attacked Woods and Kofi Kingston before Jimmy could bend the knee. Reigns and The Usos viciously beat down Woods and forced him to watch them injure Kingston’s leg. During the week, Woods called out Reigns on social media ahead of their match tonight.

Tonight’s SmackDown will also feature Sasha Banks’ first appearance since being attacked by Shotzi two weeks ago. Shotzi turned heel and attacked Banks after losing a non-title match against SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair. Banks and Shotzi will both be on SmackDown’s women’s team for Survivor Series.

Plus, Shinsuke Nakamura & Rick Boogs take on Los Lotharios (Angel & Humberto).

Our live coverage begins at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

Michael Cole and Pat McAfee discussed tonight’s Roman Reigns vs. King Xavier main event. Cole mentioned that Reigns and The Usos injured Kofi Kingston last week, so he’s not at SmackDown.

Women’s SmackDown Survivor Series Team Segment

This was a fine opening segment. They did the typical story of the team members not getting along.

Sonya Deville introduced the women’s SmackDown Survivor Series team members, including Shayna Baszler, Shotzi, Natalya, and Aliyah. Deville then introduced the team captain Sasha Banks to a big pop from the fans.

They recapped Shotzi attacking Banks a few weeks ago. Banks jumped in the ring and went after Shotzi, but the other teammates kept them apart. Suddenly, Naomi’s music hit, and she ran down to the ring. She got in Deville’s face, and a huge brawl broke out. Baszler and Banks were fighting in the ring as they went to a commercial.

Sasha Banks, Naomi & Aliyah defeated Shayna Baszler, Shotzi & Natalya (12:49)

This was a fun opening match.

Banks ran wild for the early advantage. Baszler briefly took over until Banks rocked her with double knees in the corner. Aliyah came in with a hurricanrana on Baszler and followed up with a dropkick.

The heels took over and isolated Aliyah on their side of the ring. Baszler locked on the Kirfuda Clutch on Aliyah, but she rolled through, and Naomi got the tag. Naomi briefly ran wild until Natalya made a blind tag. Natalya took over with a suplex off the apron on the floor. Naomi briefly fought back, but Natalya rocked her with a vicious clothesline for a near fall. Naomi rolled to the floor, and Baszler tossed her into the barricade.

Back from the break, the heels were firmly in control. They kept Naomi on their side of the ring and cut her off from her corner. Baszler stomped on Naomi’s arm and slowed the pace down. Naomi fought back, but Baszler locked on the Kirifuda Clutch. Naomi briefly broke free, but Baszler dragged her back to the heels corner. Naomi broke free again, and Aliyah got the hot tag.

Aliyah ran wild with a flying cross body on Natalya for a near fall. She followed up with a neck breaker, but Natalya fought back with a Michinoku Driver for a two-count. Banks sent Baszler and Shotzi to the floor. She followed up with a Meteora off the apron on Baszler.

Naomi then took out Shotzi with the Rear View. The finish came when Natalya got the sharpshooter on Aliyah. She grabbed the top rope for leverage, but Naomi hung her on the middle rope. Aliyah then countered and pinned Natalya for the win. The fans popped huge for the finish.

In the back, Sami Zayn practiced an inspiring speech in the mirror but didn’t realize that Jeff Hardy was in the room the whole time. Hardy laughed at Zayn and told him the speech sucked.

Universal Champion Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman were walking in the back.

Cole and McAfee made a big deal out of Aliyah getting the pin in the tag match. In the back, Aliyah celebrated the win and is happy to be on the Survivor Series team. Sonya Deville approached and questioned her about knowing Naomi. Deville claimed she was told to remove Aliyah from the Survivor Series team. The fans erupted in boos.

They recapped King Xavier Woods beating Jimmy Uso last week and almost bending the knee until Reigns ran out.

Kayla Braxton interviewed Reigns and Heyman in front of their locker room. Reigns assumed she was either there to talk to him or flirt with the wise man, Paul Heyman. Reigns walked off, and Heyman noted if Woods loses tonight, he must bend the knee to Reigns. However, if Reigns loses then, he’ll bend the knee. If he doesn’t bend the knee, they can strip him of the Universal title and banish him from SmackDown.

In the back, Madcap Moss and Baron Corbin told jokes about The Viking Raiders and laughed uncontrollably.

Los Lotharios (Angel & Humberto) defeated Shinsuke Nakamura & Rick Boogs (4:46)

This was a fine tag team match. They didn’t get a lot of time, although it still dragged. Los Lotharios have a lot of potential as a team.

Boogs gained the early advantage for his team until Angel made the blind tag. The heels took over and hit a double basement dropkick in the corner. Los Lotharios isolated Boogs on their side of the ring and cut him off from Nakamura.

Angel hit a dropkick to Boogs head and slowed the pace down with a chin lock. Boogs broke free and dropped Angel on the corner. Nakamura and Humberto both got the tag. Nakamura ran wild and hit a sliding German suplex on Humberto. Nakamura followed up with a knee off the middle turnbuckle for a near fall, but Angel broke up the pin attempt.

Boogs tackled Angel over the top rope to the floor. Nakamura set up for the Kinshasa, but Angel pulled Humberto out of the ring. Nakamura took out Angel but Humberto recovered. He went for a dive, but Nakamura cut him off. The heels fought back and hit their finisher for the win.

In the back, Adam Pearce was with Von Wagner in his office, but they never acknowledged him. Pearce wondered why Sonya Deville removed Aliyah from the team. She claimed it was to make the team stronger. She told Pearce he should do the same and walked out.

Sami Zayn entered and started ranting. Pearce made Zayn vs. Jeff Hardy for later tonight and whoever loses is off the men’s Survivor Series team.

Charlotte Flair Segment

Flair was good in the segment, although it ended abruptly.

Charlotte Flair made her way to the ring. Cole and McAfee discussed Flair vs. Becky Lynch at Survivor Series. McAfee mentioned the last time they were in the ring and eluded to the controversy.

Flair discussed her upcoming match with Becky Lynch. She mocked Lynch for not being natural and her fake catchphrases, fake orange hair, and whatever else. Flair admitted that Lynch had a lot of great accomplishments. Flair claimed that after she beats Becky, she’s going to be Becky Uh Oh. Flair then got the fans repeating Uh Oh with her everytime she said Becky Uh Oh.

Flair noted that Shotzi became a star for just being in the same ring with her. Flair called herself the star-maker. Suddenly, Toni Storm’s music hit, and she made her way to the ring. Storm noted Lynch defended her title on Raw and then challenged Flair to a title match. Flair turned down Storm’s challenge and walked off.

In the back, Kayla Braxton interviewed King Xavier Woods. Woods couldn’t believe that Roman Reigns wants him to bend the knee. Woods took his crown off and became serious. He noted it’s been a tough week for The New Day. He promised to defeat Reigns later.

A distraught Aliyah was on the phone talking about getting removed from the Survivor Series team in the back. Mustafa Ali approached and tried giving advice, but Ricochet interrupted. Ricochet said it didn’t matter that she got removed because she was great in the tag match earlier. Aliyah and Ricochet walked off together.

Loser Gets Removed From The Survivor Series Team: Jeff Hardy defeated Sami Zayn (9:08)

Hardy and Zayn had a good match.

Zayn rocked Hardy with a knee to the face to take over. The fans broke into a loud “Hardy” chant. Hardy fought back, so Zayn jumped out of the ring. Hardy caught him with a sliding dropkick. He leaped off the stairs, but Zayn moved and he crashed into the barricade.

Back from the break, Zayn hit a hard clothesline for a near fall. He then slowed the pace down with a chin lock. Hardy fought back and hit a basement dropkick for a close two-count.

Hardy then hit whisper in the wind for another close near fall. The fans reacted big for the near fall. Hardy went for the twist of fate, but Zayn countered with a backslide for a near fall. Hardy missed a splash in the corner, and Zayn rolled him up with his feet on the ropes. The referee caught Zayn, and they started arguing. Hardy took advantage and hit the twist of fate, followed up with the Swanton Bomb for the win.

Zayn is no longer on the Survivor Series team. After the match, they showed the graphic of the Survivor Series team, and they removed Zayn’s image as he watched.

In the back, Hit Row cut a promo about coming to SmackDown and briefly mentioned their sneakers. They cut to Jinder Mahal and Shanky in the back. They mocked Hit Row and did a rap. Shanky did his rhyme in Punjabi, and Mahal followed up with a terrible verse. They danced and mocked Hit Row. Mahal called Shanky Slim Shanky and Ice Ice Shanky.

Kayla Braxton interviewed Ridge Holland about praising Sheamus last week. Holland praised Shaemus again and is proud to follow in his footsteps. Cesaro interrupted and mentioned his friendship with Sheamus. He told Holland not to trust Sheamus. Holland claimed they’re going to be a better team than The Bar. He noted Sheamus returns next week.

They promoted Xia Li’s upcoming debut.

They aired a Raw recap.

They recapped WrestleMania in Dallas in 2016.

Non-TItle Match: King Xavier Woods defeated Universal Champion Roman Reigns (w/Paul Heyman) via DQ (10:18)

Reigns and Woods had a good hard-hitting match until the weak finish.

As Reigns made his entrance, Cole and McAfee discussed the stakes for the match. They stressed that the loser must bend the knee. If Reigns doesn’t bend the knee, he’ll be stripped of the Universal title and banished from SmackDown.

Woods gained the early advantage with a dropkick. Reigns rolled to the floor, but Woods then hit a dropkick through the ropes. He rocked Reigns with hard chops and slammed his head against the announce table.

Woods was running wild, but Reigns rocked him with a right hand. Reigns then gave Woods a Rock Bottom on the announce table.

Back from the break, Reigns continued to beat down Woods. Woods briefly fought back, but Reigns rocked him with a big boot to the face for a near fall. He followed up with a series of clotheslines in the corner. Woods fought back, but Reigns cut him off again. Woods rocked Reigns with a boot to the head and hit a DDT.

Woods fought back with chops and right-hands, but Reigns cut him off. Woods fired up and scored a close near fall. He hit a low superkick and dropped Reigns face-first for a two-count.

Woods claimed to the top rope, but Reigns cut him off again and hit the Rock Bottom. Reigns went for the spear, but Woods avoided the move. Woods then hit his elbow drop off the top rope and had the match won. Suddenly, The Usos pulled Woods out of the ring and beat him down for the disqualification. They continued to beat him down and threw him into the steps.

Reigns posed in the middle of the ring on one knee as The Usos placed Woods’ crown on his head. Technically, Reigns can claim that he did bend the knee after losing. Reigns and The Usos posed in the ring to end SmackDown.

Next Week: Sasha Banks goes one-on-one with Shotzi. Plus, Sheamus returns.

Xavier Woods reportedly not paid extra by WWE for UpUpDownDown

Photo: WWE

A new report clarifies the status of UpUpDownDown, and Woods’ financial ties to the show, or lack thereof.

Following up on yesterday’s news that content creators for WWE’s gaming channel UpUpDownDown are holding out on the company until Xavier Woods receives a financial incentive to do so, Fightful Select reports today that Woods is not paid extra at all for UpUpDownDown, and that his income from both the gaming channel and his upcoming G4 hosting duties count against his WWE contract’s downside guarantee.

The report also states that Woods is in fact one of the creators holding out for money, something that was not explicitly stated previously.

The report goes on to say that every WWE talent that appears on UpUpDownDown is paid for their time, but it counts against their WWE downside. Fightful also clarifies that Woods never owned UpUpDownDown, but stresses that he is the force behind the growth and popularity of the channel.

UpUpDownDown has 2.27 million subscribers on YouTube. The channel has posted just two short videos in the last three weeks, with the last long-form game stream hosted by Woods posted on the channel on October 15.

Woods’ hosting work for the relaunch of the G4 cable network begins Tuesday, November 16.

Report: UpUpDownDown content creators holding out on WWE

A lack of new content on WWE’s UpUpDownDown gaming channel on YouTube can be explained simply, according to a report.

Only two short videos have been posted to UpUpDownDown in the last three weeks, and none of the longer streams that the channel is known for. Fightful Select reports that content creators have stopped producing for UpUp DownDown until WWE cuts Xavier Woods a bigger financial piece of the pie.

The report states that while Woods never owned the UpUpDownDown brand, those that appear on the channel believe that Woods is the key force in growing the subscriber base and getting new people involved in producing content, and should be rewarded financially for that.

Fightful’s report stresses that UpUpDownDown may not be done as a brand and that regular content could continue once the “situation was rectified.”

WWE is bringing back the Superstar Gaming Series this week after a hiatus of nearly a year, a notable development given the UpUpDownDown report.

WWE Superstar Gaming Series returning

WWE’s Superstar Gaming Series will return this week after a lengthy hiatus.

WWE has announced an event for Thursday, November 11 at 7 p.m. Eastern time on their YouTube channel, hosted by Xavier Woods and former AEW commentator Alex “Goldenboy” Mendez. It will be the first SGS stream in over ten months.

WWE Champion Big E, Bayley, Samoa Joe and Liv Morgan will play on the WWE team in the gaming competition. Bayley has been out of action with a knee injury since July 2021.

The WWE performers will face a team comprised of musician T-Pain, Spacestation Gaming’s Mari Takahashi, plus streamers GrandPooBear and The Completionist.

WWE’s first SGS stream was held on December 29, 2020 and featured Ronda Rousey, Xavier Woods, Liv Morgan, Adam Cole, Tyler Breeze, Shayna Baszler and Jessamyn Duke. Cole, Breeze and Duke are no longer with the company.

Thursday is Veterans Day in the United States, and the Superstar Gaming Series event will be sponsored by the U.S. Army.

Roman Reigns vs. Xavier Woods announced for WWE SmackDown

WWE has announced Universal Champion Roman Reigns vs. King of the Ring Xavier Woods for this Friday’s SmackDown. A commercial for the match aired during today’s NFL broadcasts on Fox.

Woods defeated Jimmy Uso on this past Friday’s SmackDown in a match where Woods would be forced to acknowledge Reigns if Woods lost, but Uso would be forced to bend the knee to Woods if Uso lost.

Woods pinned Uso after rolling him up. After the match, Reigns, Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso attacked Woods and Kofi Kingston.

Woods will be a part of the SmackDown team in the traditional five-on-five match at Survivor Series on November 21, teaming with Drew McIntyre, Jeff Hardy, Sami Zayn and Happy Corbin against Team Raw’s Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, Kevin Owens, Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio.

Reigns does not have a match announced for Survivor Series yet, but would face WWE Champion Big E in a non-title match if WWE continues with their tradition of having brand champions facing off at the November pay-per-view.

A king and queen of WWE were crowned at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia.

Xavier Woods became King of the Ring by defeating Finn Balor in the tournament finals. In the Queen’s Crown tournament finals, Zelina Vega defeated Doudrop.

“All hail King Xavier” and “All hail Queen Zelina” were announced after their respective wins.

Woods has called winning King of the Ring a lifelong dream of his. Before Crown Jewel, Woods tweeted that today’s match was the most important of his life: “My entire career I’ve been told to tone it down, don’t be my FULL self. I’m too ridiculous, I don’t fit in. Just be like everyone else. Don’t think outside the box. Tonight, I have a chance to show all of those people they were wrong. This is the most important match of my life”

Woods defeated Ricochet in the first round and Jinder Mahal in the semifinals of the King of the Ring tournament, while Vega defeated Toni Storm and Carmella to get to the Queen’s Crown finals.

Woods is WWE’s first King of the Ring since Baron Corbin won the tournament in 2019. Vega is the inaugural Queen’s Crown winner.
