During an appearance on WWE’s The Bump this morning, Goldberg teased that a match against Universal Champion Roman Reigns will be what’s next for him in WWE.

On The Bump, it was brought up that Goldberg made a brief appearance in the WWE ThunderDome’s video wall for Reigns’ title defense against Braun Strowman at SmackDown’s season premiere episode this October. Goldberg was asked if he has unfinished business with Reigns.

“Oh, I would say that is one of the most mild understatements that I have ever heard,” Goldberg responded. “He backed out on me at WrestleMania. He stole my move — god knows how long ago — and he continues to perform it at subpar level. Let’s be perfectly honest, I’m the dude who delivers the spear. And I don’t think that he understands what it’s like until I deliver one to him. So Roman, it’s coming and I’m coming for you. I may be old, I may be gray, but I’m still Goldberg.”

“Who’s next? Roman’s next,” Goldberg said to conclude his appearance.

WWE.com posted an article about Goldberg’s comments and WWE shared video of them on social media.

Goldberg and Reigns played college football for rival schools, with Goldberg going to the University of Georgia and Reigns going to Georgia Tech. Goldberg was supposed to defend the Universal Championship against Reigns at WrestleMania 36 this April, but Strowman replaced Reigns in the match after Reigns pulled out of the show as a precaution.

Strowman won the Universal Championship from Goldberg at WrestleMania and then dropped the title to “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt at SummerSlam this August. Reigns returned to WWE television at SummerSlam, attacking both The Fiend and Strowman following their match. Reigns then won the Universal Championship by defeating Strowman and The Fiend in a triple threat match at Payback.

Reigns is defending the Universal Championship against Kevin Owens in a tables, ladders, and chairs match at TLC on Sunday, December 20.

Goldberg is signed to a multi-year deal with WWE for two matches per year.

Goldberg’s appearance on The Bump was to promote the WWE Untold episode on his WCW streak that’s premiering on the WWE Network this Sunday.
