Punk briefly became World Heavyweight Champion at SummerSlam last weekend, winning the title from Gunther before Seth Rollins then cashed in to take the title from him. There was an angle on Raw earlier this week where Rollins, Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed laid out Punk, Roman Reigns & LA Knight.

Finn Balor returns to action at WWE house show

Finn Balor returned to action at today’s WWE live event in Manchester, England.

Balor was pulled from Tuesday’s event in Nottingham for precautionary reasons related to what is believed to be a minor injury. Balor worked an opening tag match in Manchester, teaming with Cesaro against WALTER and Sheamus.

Dave Meltzer tweeted:

“Finn Balor’s injury from Monday wasn’t serious as he worked today’s show in Manchester, but worked a tag instead of a singles match, but did most of the match.”

Although drafted to the Raw brand last month, Balor was booked for this week’s SmackDown tour of the United Kingdom, defeating Sheamus on Sunday in Liverpool and Monday in Leeds before missing Tuesday’s show in Nottingham. Balor also worked the Raw tour of the UK last week in four-way matches with Damian Priest, Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens for Priest’s United States Championship.

Today’s show marked the end of an eight-day tour of England for WWE.

This will be the first time the WWE main roster has been to the UK since the COVID-19 pandemic began. WWE had been set for a UK tour in May 2020, but that couldn’t happen due to the pandemic.

WWE is returning to touring starting with the Friday, July 16 episode of SmackDown at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.

Daniel Bryan vs. The Miz set for three WWE UK tour stops

With The Miz moving back to SmackDown in the Superstar Shakeup, WWE has already announced a few matches where he’ll be facing Daniel Bryan.

Miz vs. Bryan is set for three house shows on WWE’s tour of the United Kingdom next month. Those events are in Liverpool on May 16th, Newcastle on the 17th, and Sheffield on the 18th.

While announcing that Miz was going to SmackDown last night, Kurt Angle mentioned that Bryan was “very adamant” about the move and still had pull as the show’s former general manager. Their on-screen history dates back to Miz being paired with Bryan on the first season of NXT, but their most noteworthy interaction happened when they got into a heated exchange on Talking Smack while Bryan wasn’t cleared to wrestle by WWE.

WWE will be in Europe from May 9-20. Ronda Rousey is scheduled for matches in Geneva, Switzerland on the 16th, Vienna, Austria on the 17th, Turin, Italy on the 18th, and Paris, France on the 19th.
