Snickers is again partnering with WWE for this year’s WrestleMania.
WWE and Mars, Incorporated have announced “an expansion of their long-standing partnership for 2020 in which Snickers will once again serve as the exclusive presenting partner of WrestleMania.” This is the fifth straight year that Snickers has been the presenting sponsor for the event.
The partnership will include WWE wrestlers taking part in Snickers’ new “Fix the World” ad campaign. There will be three custom commercials produced. The first will air on the March 23 episode of Raw, the second will air on the March 27 episode of SmackDown, and the third will air during WrestleMania 36.
WrestleMania is taking place at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida on April 5.
Snickers will also be a promotional partner for Extreme Rules in July, while Skittles will be the presenting partner for October’s Hell in a Cell pay-per-view.
The full press release from WWE and Mars, Incorporated is available below:
Mars, Incorporated and WWE today announced an expansion of their long-standing partnership for 2020 in which Snickers will once again serve as the exclusive presenting partner of WrestleMania, one of the largest sports and entertainment events in the world. The partnership marks the brand’s fifth consecutive year as presenting sponsor of WrestleMania, which takes place Sunday, April 5, 2020, at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, and will stream live around the world at 7 p.m. ET on the award-winning WWE Network.
The expanded partnership will include three pieces of custom creative, featuring WWE Superstars promoting the new Snickers ‘Fix the World’ campaign. In the videos, the Superstars find their unique daily annoyances are solved after Snickers has fixed the world. The spots will air in WWE’s flagship TV programs beginning March 23 during Monday Night Raw on USA Network and March 27 during Friday Night SmackDown on FOX. The third spot will air during WrestleMania on WWE Network.
‘Our partnership has historically shown the power of Snickers to satisfy when WWE Superstars are hungry, and now we’re taking it to the next level by fixing things in their daily lives that are out of sorts,’ said Josh Olken, Brand Director, Snickers. ‘We’re excited to be back for the fifth year as the presenting sponsor of WrestleMania as we find new and relevant ways to provide satisfaction to the WWE’s passionate fan base.’

The partnership includes Snickers brand presence at WrestleMania Axxess, WWE’s five-day, interactive fan festival at the Tampa Convention Center, plus custom digital and social content sponsorships on WWE.com and WWE’s YouTube channel, which is the No. 1 most-viewed sports channel and No. 5 most-viewed channel in the world. Snickers will also serve as a promotional partner of WWE’s Extreme Rules pay-per-view event in July 2020, and for the third consecutive year will be supported by a nationwide retail program available at all Dollar General stores to support the sale of co-branded WWE Snickers bars. The bars will be available mid-March through mid-April, while supplies last.
WWE’s expanded partnership with Mars will also highlight Skittles as the presenting partner of WWE’s Hell in a Cell pay-per-view event in October 2020. Skittles will be prominently featured as part of cross-platform media assets promoting WWE Hell in a Cell and will collaborate with WWE on production of a co-branded custom integration that will air in the telecast. Additional partnership activations will be unveiled in the coming months.
Becky Lynch officially has her opponent for WrestleMania 36.
Shayna Baszler won tonight’s Elimination Chamber main event and will challenge Lynch for the Raw Women’s Championship at WrestleMania. Baszler used the Kirifuda Clutch to eliminate all five of her opponents tonight.
Baszler was the fourth wrestler to enter the Elimination Chamber. She immediately tapped out Ruby Riott and Sarah Logan with the Kirifuda Clutch, then used the move to eliminate Natalya.
Baszler waited for the next wrestler to enter. Liv Morgan came in, and she passed out in the Kirifuda Clutch as Baszler stared Asuka down.
Asuka was the final wrestler to enter the Chamber but also passed out in the Kirifuda Clutch.
Lynch was shown watching the Elimination Chamber match backstage twice as it was going on and after Baszler’s win. The build to their WrestleMania match kicked off last month with an angle where Baszler appeared on Raw, attacked Lynch, and bit her in the back of the neck.
WrestleMania 36 is taking place at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida on April 5.
Goldberg already has his challenger for WrestleMania 36.
WWE has confirmed that Goldberg will defend his Universal Championship against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. The match was announced after Reigns confronted Goldberg on tonight’s SmackDown.
Goldberg opened tonight’s show after defeating “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt to win the Universal Championship at Super ShowDown. He was interrupted by Reigns, who had a staredown with Goldberg and then told him “I’m next.”
The Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania had previously announced that there would be an Elimination Chamber match on March 8 to determine who would challenge for the Universal title at WrestleMania. WWE never officially added that match to the Elimination Chamber card.
Goldberg and Reigns played college football at rival schools, with Goldberg going to the University of Georgia and Reigns going to Georgia Tech. Both wrestlers also use the spear as signature moves.
Reigns was also in action at Super ShowDown yesterday. He defeated Baron Corbin in a steel cage match.
WrestleMania 36 is taking place at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida on April 5.
On the Saturday night Wrestling Observer Radio (sub needed), Dave Meltzer said that this year’s planned WWE WrestleMania card is already undergoing some major changes.
Meltzer said that especially on the SmackDown side of the card, every match has “changed or is in danger of changing.” That includes WWE Universal Champion Bray Wyatt vs. Roman Reigns and John Cena vs. Elias which Meltzer said, as of now, appear to be off.
Meltzer didn’t give any reasons why the changes are being made, but he and guest host Garrett Gonzales speculated it might mean a change for the upcoming Fiend-Goldberg title match at the Saudi Arabia Super ShowDown event or perhaps Cena getting a title shot instead.
He also said that the SmackDown women’s title match between Bayley and Naomi was planned for WrestleMania, but was moved to Saudi Arabia instead.
Here’s a look at some announced/expected matches for this year’s WrestleMania from Tampa, FL:
Charlotte Flair is officially challenging for Rhea Ripley’s NXT Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 36.
Charlotte made a surprise appearance at NXT TakeOver: Portland tonight, attacking Ripley after Ripley retained her title against Bianca Belair. Charlotte then got on the microphone and announced that she’ll see Ripley at WrestleMania.
After accepting Ripley’s challenge, Charlotte laid her out with Natural Selection and posed with Ripley’s NXT Women’s title belt. Charlotte also threw Belair into the steel steps after leaving the ring.
In storyline, Royal Rumble winner Charlotte could choose to challenge for the Raw, SmackDown, or NXT Women’s Championship at WrestleMania. Ripley appeared on Raw earlier this month and challenged Charlotte to choose her. Charlotte was also on NXT that week and was laid out by Ripley and Belair.
On Raw last Monday, Ripley defeated Sarah Logan and then cut a promo saying she wanted an answer from Charlotte. Charlotte pointed out that we didn’t even know if Ripley would still be NXT Women’s Champion after TakeOver: Portland.
WrestleMania 36 is taking place at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida on Sunday, April 5.
Meltzer said the plan is believed to be for Cena to wrestle Elias, a decision he called “underwhelming.” Cena interrupted Elias’ “concert” at last year’s WrestleMania in his Doctor of Thuganomics character and gave Elias the Attitude Adjustment/F.U. The two also had a confrontation at WrestleMania 34 before Cena lost to the Undertaker in a quick and surprise match.
On last week’s WWE Backstage, Cena was announced as returning to WWE TV on the Friday, February 28th edition of SmackDown from Boston, MA. Meltzer said the angle for his Mania return will likely kick off on that show.
The 42-year-old Cena hasn’t competed in a WWE ring since January 2019 when he was in a triple threat match with Finn Balor and Drew McIntyre. He last appeared on WWE TV last July in a SmackDown rap battle segment with the Usos.
Last week, Meltzer confirmed that the Undertaker vs. AJ Styles is also planned for the WWE’s biggest show of the year. He added on last night’s show that Goldberg is not in the plans for Mania.
Other matches that have been announced or planned to be announced for April 5th include WWE Champion Brock Lesnar vs. McIntyre, WWE Universal Champion Bray Wyatt vs. Roman Reigns, Edge vs. Randy Orton, NXT Champion Rhea Ripley vs. Charlotte Flair.
A big first-time matchup is planned for WrestleMania 36.
Dave Meltzer has confirmed that The Undertaker vs. AJ Styles is currently on the scheduled card for WrestleMania. The match being planned for WrestleMania was first reported by WrestleZone yesterday.
The Undertaker didn’t wrestle at WrestleMania 35 last year. He was in action twice in 2019, defeating Goldberg at Super ShowDown in Saudi Arabia in June and teaming with Roman Reigns to defeat Shane McMahon & Drew McIntyre at Extreme Rules in July.
Undertaker also made an appearance when SmackDown took place at Madison Square Garden in September.
Styles has been out of action since separating his shoulder in last month’s men’s Royal Rumble match. WWE.com noted on February 3 that Styles was “recovering way ahead of doctor’s projections.”
Styles has been announced as one of the participants for the Tuwaiq Trophy gauntlet match at Super ShowDown in Saudi Arabia on Thursday, February 27. Andrade, Rusev, Bobby Lashley, R-Truth, and Erick Rowan will also be in the match.
WrestleMania 36 will take place at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida on Sunday, April 5.
Rhea Ripley made an appearance on Raw tonight, challenging Charlotte Flair to a match at WrestleMania 36.
After saying she needed more time to think about her WrestleMania opponent last week, Charlotte appeared on Raw this week and started to talk about who she should challenge after winning this year’s Royal Rumble match. She mentioned that she is a ten time champion, and has also defeated both Raw Women’s champion Becky Lynch and SmackDown women’s champion Bayley in the past.
NXT champion Rhea Ripley then came out. She told Charlotte that there is one person she hasn’t beaten, and that is herself. She also mentioned that she is the one that has a win over Flair. Ripley then issued the challenge for WrestleMania.
Charlotte didn’t answer her, leaving the ring.
The two, representing NXT (Ripley) and Raw (Charlotte), faced off at Survivor Series in an elimination match that also featured a team from SmackDown. While Charlotte was eliminated by SmackDown’s Lacey Evans, NXT won the match with Candice LeRae, Io Shirai and Ripley surviving.
With the Royal Rumble in the books, which saw Drew McIntyre win the men’s match and Charlotte Flair taking the women’s bout, the top of the WrestleMania card is taking shape.
The 4/5 show at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa is currently planned to have Brock Lesnar vs. McIntyre for the WWE title, Bray Wyatt vs. Roman Reigns for the Universal title, Becky Lynch vs. Shayna Baszler for the Raw women’s title, Rhea Ripley vs. Charlotte Flair for the NXT women’s title and Edge vs. Randy Orton as the top bouts. Right now Undertaker is not booked on the card, but the sides are in discussions regarding his participation.
What’s notable is that in all the plans until the last week, Reigns and Baszler were scheduled as the Rumble winners. Vince McMahon changed his mind about a week ahead of time. We don’t know exactly when, but significant money came in on Flair to win on 1/19, so that’s a pretty good hint.
The first match for WrestleMania 36 is now official.
The night after winning the men’s Royal Rumble match, Drew McIntyre opened Raw by announcing that he’s going to challenge Lesnar for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 36. McIntyre eliminated Lesnar in the Rumble match after Lesnar had started off by eliminating 13 other wrestlers.
During the Rumble, McIntyre gave Lesnar a Claymore Kick over the top rope after Ricochet hit a low blow on Lesnar.
McIntyre last eliminated Roman Reigns to win the Royal Rumble.
McIntyre also issued an open challenge in the opening segment of tonight’s Raw. He pinned Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson in a handicap match after hitting Claymore Kicks on both. McIntyre threw Gallows and Anderson out of the ring after the match but was then ambushed by Lesnar. Lesnar gave McIntyre an F-5 and posed with the WWE title belt.
WrestleMania 36 is taking place at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida on April 5.

With both nights of the draft, free agent roster additions, and even a trade now out of the way, the new rosters for Raw and SmackDown look to be set.
WWE’s handling of the draft may have been lackluster, but this is a pivotal time for the company. If WWE is really going to commit to the brand split and making Raw and SmackDown stand out as different from each other, they need to get the roster mix right. They’re also working with two different television partners and will need to make sure FOX and USA Network don’t feel like they’re playing second fiddle to the other.
WWE is a promotion that’s overloaded with talent. That would seem like the ideal environment for a brand split, but the company’s lack of top-tier stars has been a barrier to the roster split’s long-term sustainability. When there’s a ratings slip, it’s easy to say Becky Lynch or Roman Reigns not being on both shows is the reason for it. And while the Wild Card rule may not have been overly popular, any of its short-term effects were probably a positive for ratings.
Here’s what the new Raw and SmackDown rosters look like coming out of the draft:
