WrestleCon reveals new Supershow main event

A new main event has been announced for the WrestleCon Supershow.

WrestleCon revealed that Ricochet will now team with his Demand stablemates the GOA to take on JetSpeed & Michael Oku. In their post making the announcement, they personally thanked Tony Khan and AEW for their part in getting the match together.

“It took some exceptions to make this match happen on our little independent show to honor our friend, and we want to personally thank Tony Khan and AEW for allowing this to happen,” they wrote. “When we lost our main event, we had several wrestlers, management, and agents reach out and offer their help. Thanks to everybody that had a part in putting this one together.”

The original main event had been an interpromotional dream match between AEW’s Ricochet and TNA’s Leon Slater. Despite originally getting clearance by management, it was announced days later that TNA had pulled Slater from the show, citing “partner conflicts.”

A match between MJF and Nic Nemeth was also pulled around the same time, which was set to take place in May for Create-A-Pro. The AEW World Champion was critical of TNA President Carlos Silva following the announcement, saying the choice to remove TNA talent was “disgusting.”

Mark Davis to face former ECW Champion at WrestleCon SuperShow

The present will battle the past at the WrestleCon SuperShow.

It was announced today that Mark Davis, currently one-third of the AEW World Trios Champions, will be taking on former ECW World Champion Masato Tanaka in Las Vegas.

Tanaka, age 53, made his pro wrestling debut in 1993. He is probably best known to American fans for his feud with Mike Awesome in the original ECW, where they traded the ECW Championship in 1999 then stole the show in a rematch at WWE’s ECW One Night Stand in 2005. They also frequently battled in FMW in Japan.

Tanaka is also a three-time former ECW World Tag Team Champion, winning the belts once with Balls Mahoney and twice with Tommy Dreamer. He is still very active in Japan, where he is the reigning ZERO1 World Heavyweight Champion, as well as the reigning GHC Hardcore Openweight Champion in Pro Wrestling NOAH.

Davis has his own background in hardcore wrestling—he is a five-time 24/7 Hardcore Champion in HOPE Wrestling in the United Kingdom. He has won dozens of other titles all over the world, usually teaming with Kyle Fletcher. The two of them and Kazuchika Okada are the current AEW World Trios Champions.

WrestleCon SuperShow takes place at 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, from the Horseshoe in Las Vegas, Nevada. Tickets are available here. The event will also stream live on Triller TV.

Bandido match announced for WrestleCon SuperShow

One of the world’s best wrestlers has been booked for WrestleMania week in Las Vegas.

WrestleCon announced on social media that ROH World Champion Bandido would be appearing at the Mark Hitchcock Memorial Supershow on April 16. His opponent: Galeno Del Mal.

Galeno, a seven-year pro, is a member of lucha libre’s famous Wagner family. (His brother, El Hijo Del Dr. Wagner Jr., debuted on WWE SmackDown on Friday night.) A former GHC National Champion, he has primarily been appearing for Pro Wrestling NOAH in Japan lately.

However, he has also been a regular in WWE-owned AAA. In 2025, he competed against several WWE wrestlers, including El Grande Americano, Cruz Del Toro, and Joaquin Wilde. That makes his matchup with AEW/ROH star Bandido an intriguing one.

Bandido has been ROH champion for nearly a year, having won the title from Chris Jericho last April. In AEW, he is a former Dynamite Diamond Ring winner and also a former World Tag Team Champion with Brody King.

Bandido finished second behind Konosuke Takeshita for the Most Outstanding Wrestler award in the 2025 Wrestling Observer Newsletter awards. The ROH Championship match between Bandido and Takeshita at Supercard of Honor on July 11 finished second in the Pro Wrestling Match of the Year awards.

The WrestleCon Mark Hitchcock Memorial Supershow takes place at 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, at the Horseshoe in Las Vegas. The event will stream live on Thriller TV.
