The Undertaker is amazed at the “phenomenal” run Roman Reigns had as Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.
After 1,316 days as WWE’s top champion, Reigns was dethroned by Cody Rhodes in the main event of WrestleMania 40 night two. Undertaker played a role in the match, making a cameo appearance as he helped Rhodes fend off interference by The Bloodline. Undertaker laid out The Rock with a chokeslam.
On his Six Feet Under podcast, Undertaker was asked what the environment was like backstage after the match. He said it was a little hectic because people were coming back at different times and from different places, but there were a lot of emotional moments.
Undertaker praised the run Reigns had as champion. Though it isn’t the longest reign in WWE history, Undertaker explained why he doesn’t feel the comparison to past eras is fair:
There was a lot of really emotional moments backstage. You can imagine Roman coming back and after just — what an amazing run as champion. I mean, it really — If you look at it and put it in today’s market — what a phenomenal run. It’s not going to go down in the record books as the longest World title run. But when you look at it in actuality with as much coverage, as much media, as much exposure that you have now — I mean, you have to go back to someone like [Bob] Backlund’s run and [Hulk] Hogan’s early run. They didn’t have social media. They didn’t have as much live TV or they didn’t wrestle at all on TV.
Bruno Sammartino, Backlund, and Hogan are the three wrestlers with longer WWE World title runs than Reigns.
Reigns hasn’t appeared on WWE television since his WrestleMania loss. Changes were made to The Bloodline last week with the debuting Tama Tonga getting added to the group and Jimmy Uso being kicked out.
John Cena and The Undertaker both made appearances during the Roman Reigns vs. Rhodes main event at WrestleMania 40 night two. With Cena, Undertaker, Seth Rollins, and Jey Uso helping him fend off interference by The Bloodline, Rhodes defeated Reigns to win the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
Reigns vs. Rhodes was a Bloodline Rules match, a stipulation that was added when Reigns & The Rock defeated Rhodes & Rollins on night one. The stipulation meant that there were no disqualifications.
The story going into night two was that Rhodes had the deck stacked against him with The Bloodline able to interfere. Jimmy Uso was the first to get involved, but Jey took his twin brother out with a spear off the stage and through a pair of tables.
Cena took out Sikoa with an Attitude Adjustment through the announce table. That set the stage for a face-to-face between old rivals Cena and The Rock.
After laying Cena out with a Rock Bottom, The Rock was about to whip Rhodes with his weight belt. Rollins entered in his old Shield gear and was going to attack Rock with a steel chair, but Reigns blindsided Rollins with a Superman punch.
The Rock turned his attention back to Rhodes, but the lights went out. When they came back on, Undertaker was standing behind The Rock. He took Rock out of the equation with a chokeslam.
This all set the stage for Rhodes to end Reigns’ historic run as champion. After Reigns gave Rollins a chair shot, Rhodes hit a series of Cross Rhodes and pinned Reigns to become the new Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.
Some of WWE’s biggest legends of all time could be involved with WrestleMania 40.
In the new edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reports that the belief right now is “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, The Undertaker, and John Cena “will have something at WrestleMania” in some form. Meltzer notes that nothing is official regarding them appearing at the event:
Nothing is official but the belief right now is that Steve Austin, Undertaker and John Cena will have something at WrestleMania in some form. At press time, there is no creative locked in for Cena and Austin at this moment, or if there is it’s a well-guarded secret. A lot depends on how much they are willing to do and money. Cena is free but depending on what acting stuff he has and how quick after he’s filming would determine how much he can or can’t do for insurance reasons. Austin and Undertaker would be based on willingness that they have.
After returning to the ring against Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 38 in 2022, Austin did not appear at WrestleMania 39 last year.
Undertaker was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame during WrestleMania 38 weekend.
WrestleMania 40 is taking place from Philadelphia on Saturday, April 6 and Sunday, April 7. The Rock will be in action in the night one main event, teaming with Roman Reigns against Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins. Reigns vs. Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship will then headline night two of WrestleMania 40.
The Undertaker was happy to see WWE acknowledge Sting’s retirement.
On Raw the night after Sting’s retirement match at AEW Revolution, WWE congratulated him on his legendary career. Michael Cole thanked Sting for all the memories that he provided during his nearly 40 years in the ring. While not mentioning AEW by name, Pat McAfee said Sting had an “absolutely epic match” the previous night.
Undertaker and Sting helped define their respective promotions during the WWF vs. WCW Monday Night War. On his Six Feet Under podcast, Undertaker praised the run that Sting had in pro wrestling.
“What a run, man,” Undertaker said. “Like, I understand runs. What a run.”
Undertaker said that, though WWE and AEW are in competition with each other, it’s only right that WWE acknowledged Sting’s legacy:
Well, there are certain people in the industry. I mean, yeah, we’re in competition with a different company. I get it. But Sting’s legacy is so much bigger than AEW or any of that. I mean, he deserved that. I’m happy that as a company that they acknowledged it, because it’s only right.
Undertaker vs. Sting was a dream match that fans wanted for decades. It could have happened when they were in WWE together in 2015, but Undertaker said that, for whatever reason, Vince McMahon didn’t want it. Sting instead lost to Triple H at that year’s WrestleMania.
Undertaker said he thinks the match against Sting would have been good in 2015, but he doesn’t believe it would have lived up to the expectations people had because of how late they were into their careers.
Despite being retired for four years, The Undertaker is still coming to grips with no longer being a pro wrestler.
The Undertaker (Mark Calaway) wrestled for the final time when he faced AJ Styles in a cinematic Boneyard Match at WrestleMania 36 in 2020. During a new Patreon Q&A for his Six Feet Under podcast, Undertaker was asked how he’s handled the transition into retirement. Undertaker said he knew it was time for him to step away from the ring, but retiring is something that leaves a void in you.
I knew my time had come, but I wasn’t ready for it to come. I just knew that my body couldn’t deliver on what my mind and my heart wanted to give the fans. So it was kind of difficult. You have to remember that, for over half of my life, being in the ring is what I did. And then it’s not there anymore. And it does — it leaves a huge void in you. Because you’re trying to fill that void, which was a passion, and you’re trying to find out what that next passion is and what it is that you’re going to sink your teeth into. There just may not be something that will ever refill that void.
The 58-year-old Undertaker said there are a lot of times that, when he’s at a WWE show, he has to leave because there’s something inside of him that tells him he should be getting ready to wrestle.
I hope it goes away at some point. As of now, it hasn’t.
Before Elimination Chamber last month, Undertaker performed a one-man show in Australia. After getting home from the trip, Undertaker told his wife Michelle McCool that he was going to make an in-ring comeback. But Undertaker said he’s already talked himself out of that.
It’s still tough for me. I’m still coming to grips with it. And I may or may not have said to my wife recently that I was going to make a comeback. Fortunately, I think I’ve talked myself out of that.
When his co-host told him not to start any rumors, Undertaker confirmed that there won’t be one more match.
No, there’s not one more match. It was just like — I just got back from Australia, I was tired, and I knew I had a lot of stuff coming up. And that was me just feeling comfortable saying it… Don’t expect it. There’s not one more match. Don’t even start.
Undertaker joked that maybe there would have been one more match if Sting hadn’t retired.
An Undertaker one-man show has been added to WWE’s slate of events in Philadelphia during WrestleMania week.

When Undertaker had a one-man show in Perth before Elimination Chamber last month, Paul “Triple H” Levesque made a surprise appearance at the event.
The greatest of our generation & the measuring stick of our business. To truly capture his impact, we’d probably need to invent new phrases.
WrestleMania 40 is being held in Philadelphia on Saturday, April 6 and Sunday, April 7. Philly is also hosting SmackDown & the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony, NXT Stand & Deliver, and the post-WrestleMania episode of Raw.

It appears that WWE isn’t involved with Undertaker’s Six Feet Under project.
The Undertaker was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2022. Since then, he and WWE have partnered together to bring a one-man show called “UNDERTAKER 1 deadMAN SHOW” on tour. The one-man show usually takes place surrounding WWE events.
Undertaker made an appearance on NXT when it went head-to-head against AEW Dynamite on October 10. He laid out Bron Breakker with a chokeslam during the appearance.
Despite WWE NXT coming out ahead in Tuesday night’s ratings war, Tony Khan is taking a shot at the show’s performance.
Khan posted a message on X noting that, with all due respect to “two great legends,” Tuesday night was the first time John Cena or The Undertaker had ever appeared on a WWE show that averaged fewer than one million viewers.
“This week, 2 active decades-long ratings streaks from 2 great legends were ended,” Khan wrote. “With all due respect, until this week’s head-to-head AEW on TBS vs WWE on USA, neither John Cena nor Undertaker had ever been on a WWE show with under 1 million total viewers + under 400k in the demo.”
Tuesday night’s NXT episode averaged 921,000 viewers and drew a 0.30 rating in the 18-49 demo. AEW Dynamite averaged 609,000 viewers and drew a 0.26 demo rating. Dynamite was moved to Tuesday this week due to MLB playoff coverage on TBS.
On NXT, Cena was in Carmelo Hayes’ corner for a match where Hayes defeated Bron Breakker. Paul Heyman was in Breakker’s corner for the match.
An appearance by Undertaker was heavily teased for NXT but never officially announced. He showed up near the end of the episode for a confrontation with Breakker. Undertaker laid out Breakker with a chokeslam.
Cody Rhodes and Asuka made appearances on Tuesday’s NXT as well. Dynamite was a Title Tuesday edition of the show that also included Adam Copeland’s AEW in-ring debut.
Khan sent out another post on Wednesday night referencing the sexual misconduct allegations that have been made against Vince McMahon.
Yes. Vince has allegedly used his power and influence to shoot a lot of shots. https://t.co/8E9vHeS3rF
The Undertaker made his presence felt at the end of Tuesday’s NXT.
Bron Breakker in the ring laid out Carmelo Hayes after their match on Tuesday and said he was the only bad ass in the WWE. The Undertaker’s gong then sounded. Undertaker came out in his American Bad Ass persona and told Breakker that someday he was going to be a special talent. However, that day wasn’t today. He then laid out Breakker, hitting him with a chokeslam. He then told Breakker he was going to give him some advice: there is always a bigger, badder bad ass around the corner, and he just met the baddest of them all.
The show ended with Undertaker helping Hayes to his feet, both posing in the ring to end the show.
The Undertaker has only made sporadic appearances since being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2020, having his final match with AJ Styles that same year. His last appearance in WWE was back in January, appearing on Raw is XXX in a segment with Bray Wyatt.
A loaded-up edition of WWE NXT takes place tonight.
With the show going head-to-head against AEW Dynamite Title Tuesday, WWE has announced a stacked card for tonight’s NXT. It includes appearances by John Cena, Paul Heyman, Cody Rhodes, and Asuka. It’s also been teased that The Undertaker will be showing up tonight.
Cena and Heyman will be in opposite corners for a match between Carmelo Hayes and Bron Breakker. Cena will be in Hayes’ corner, while Breakker will have Heyman by his side.
Rhodes is set to make a “special announcement” when he appears tonight.
Asuka will be in action on the show, taking on Roxanne Perez. It’s Asuka’s first NXT match in four years.
Butch, Ridge Holland & Tyler Bate vs. Gallus in a Pub Rules match has also been announced.
The first 30 minutes of tonight’s show is airing commercial-free. Our live coverage begins at 8 p.m. Eastern time.
Opening the show is the entrance of Cody Rhodes. Wearing a suit and tie, Rhodes enters the soundstage at the Performance Center in Orlando. The live studio audience sings along to his theme song.
Rhodes began his monologue by addressing the audience, doing his line where he asks what we want to talk about. He goes on to say he never thought he would be in a NXT ring, but here he is.
Cody moves on to his announcement, or rather announcements — plural. Rhodes talks about tournaments in NXT, which leads to him referring to the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. The studio audience chants “DUSTY” at Cody, just before Cody announces the Dusty Classic is coming back.
Rhodes has one other announcement. Shawn Michaels made Rhodes the guest general manager. Vic Joseph on commentary says Rhodes now has “the pencil,” which is an insider term for being the booker.
Out comes NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov to join Cody in the ring. Dragunov apologizes for interrupting Rhodes, but Dragunov wanted to welcome Rhodes to NXT. Dragunov puts over Rhodes, and Dragunov basically says he wants to be like Rhodes.
Interrupting them is WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley and NXT North American Champion Dominik Mysterio. Dom cuts a promo putting himself over while he is heavily booed by the studio audience. Dom insults Dragunov, and Mysterio says he is “the one true” champion. Mysterio then insults Cody. Bad idea to insult the booker.
Dragunov responds by saying his father worked in prison, so he knows how to “turn a barking dog into a sweet little puppy.” Rhodes whispers something in Dragunov’s ear, just before Dom challenges Dragunov to a NXT title match tonight.
Rhodes says what he is hearing is Dom does not want to put his own title on the line. That comment led to Ripley interjecting to say Dom has carried WWE on his back for the past year. Dragunov cut off Ripley, and Dragunov accepts the challenge to a NXT Championship match. Rhodes make it official, and the match is set for later on.
But Rhodes is not done yet, as he also has one last impromptu announcement. Rhodes adds LA Knight as the guest referee tonight in the NXT title match, to counteract Judgment Day.
Kelly Kincaid is backstage as a roving reporter. She reports those in the NXT women’s locker room have all gathered around the monitor to watch the next match.
Shotzi Blackheart joins Booker T and Vic Joseph at the announce desk for guest commentary on the next bout. Blackheart announces she is set to return as the host for Halloween Havoc, and Scarlett is also joining Blackheart as a co-host.
Asuka defeated Roxanne Perez
Asuke pinned Perez in a good TV match. Perez got to shine at times. She was going for a cradle when Asuka trapped her in the Asuka Lock. Perez rises to her feet, and she escapes the submission hold. However, Perez is hit with some kicks. Asuks measure for one final kick, and that drops Perez. Asuka then covered Perez for a pinfall.
In a show of respect, Asuka bows to Perez before leaving the ring. Perez is then jumped by Kiana James in a sneak attack from behind. Blackheart leaves the announce desk to make the save. Blackheart sends James packing, and Blackheart checks on Perez.
Butch, Tyler Bate & Ridge Holland defeated Gallus (Mark Coffey, Wolfgang & Joe Coffey) in a “Pub Rules” six-man tag team match
Bate pinned Joe Coffey, after Coffey took a Shield powerbomb through a table. Wild brawling throughout with plenty of weapons. The babyface team wrestled in their usual ring gear, while Gallus dressed in jeans and t-shirts like this was a bunkhouse match. Gallus also taped their fists.
This was basically what used to be called a “hardcore match,” where weapons are littered around the ring for no good reason other than to be used in combat.
For the “pub” part, there was a table set up on whiskey barrels like a bar. Gallus all three lift Butch and put him through the table, just before the show cuts to its first commercial break.
They fight through a split-screen break, and the show returns to full screen with a standoff. That led into a slugfest. The babyface trio all do the Sheamus forearm spot to Gallus. Less weapons are used when the show returns from the break.
Wolfgang goes for a flip dive over the ropes, and he hits his back hard on the apron. The babyface trio did a triple submission spot. Moments later, Butch accidentally hit Bate with a kick. Wolgang then powerslams Butch, and Mark Coffey piles on top of Wolfgang as they both cover Butch. In flew Bate with a swanton to break up the pin.
Another table is set up in the ring by the babyfaces, but the heels would seemingly be the first to put someone through it. Joe Coffey puts Butch on the table, and Coffey leaves the ring to retrieve a mug of beer. Coffey gets back into the ring with the beer, and he is standing over Butch when Bate makes a save. Bate takes the mug away from Coffey, and Bate hits Coffey with the mug. Glass shatters, and Butch snaps one of Coffey’s fingers. The babyface trio then do the Shield powerbomb, as they put Coffey through a table. Bate then covers Coffey for a three count.
A video package hypes Becky Lynch defending her NXT Women’s Championship against Lyra Valkyria at Halloween Havoc.
McKenzie Mitchell is interviewing Valkyria backstage when they are interrupted by Tegan Nox. God forbid anyone finish an interview or monologue on NXT. Nox wants another title shot at Valkyria, and Nox says Valkyria’s title shot can wait. Valkyria cuts a promo on Nox, basically punking her out.
Jone Cena enters the soundstage like the superstar he is, and it is very surreal to see Cena on an episode of NXT. Of course, his promo is interrupted by someone, but Cena gets a monologue before Bron Breakker interrupts.
Cena puts over being in NXT, and he puts over NXT, along with putting over the NXT crowd. The studio audience thanks him with a chant, and someone in the crowd also did a dueling chant of “Cena sucks” when the rest of the audience chanted “thank you Cena!”
Cena begins talking about being in Carmelo Hayes’ corner later tonight, and out comes Breakker to interrupt the monologue. The studio audience chant at Breakker, telling him he sucks. Breakker is apparently delusional, as he says the crowd is there to see him, not Cena.
Breakker is cutting a promo on Cena, as the studio audience chants “bulls**t” at Breakker. That is bleeped out on USA Network.
Cena takes the high road, wishing Breakker luck in his match tonight. Cena extends his arm for a handshake. Breakker looks down at Cena’s hand, and Breakker looks back up just before attacking Cena.
Breakker is drops Cena with punches, and Breakker measures for a spear. Cena avoids the spear, and he lifts Breakker in a fireman’s carry. Breakker escapes and hightails it out of the ring.
NXT Tag Team Champions Tony D’Angelo & Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo meet up with Cody Rhodes in a backstage skit. The Family pitches an idea to Cody for a 10-team battle royal. The final two teams remaining in the battle royal would then have a tag match. The overall winners would go on to face The Family at Halloween Havoc in a tag title match. Rhodes likes the idea, and he books the battle royal for next week. Rhodes also gives it a name — the “Bada Bing Bada Boom Battle Royal.”
Baron Corbin, in a backstage interview, cuts a promo about the NXT title match later tonight. Thankfully, the theme song for LA Knight interrupts Corbin, and he stops talking. LA Knight then enters the soundstage.
NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov defeated NXT North American Champion Dominik Mysterio (with Rhea Ripley) to retain the NXT Championship, with LA Knight as guest referee
Dragunov pinned Mysterio to retain the NXT title. Knight pretty much called it down the middle, until he got involved by thwarting interference by Judgment Day. Baron Corbin and Dijak would also get involved in a post-match angle.
When Dom got in trouble, Ripley jumps on the apron to distract Knight. That allowed Dom to cut off Dragunov with a thumb in the eye. Dragunov is down selling as the show cuts to a commercial break.
Dragunov makes a comeback when the show returns from the split-screen break. Meanwhile, the studio audience chants “YEAH” in reference to Knight. Dragunov takes a hard chop from Dom, and that awakens a beast. Dragunov chops down Dom.
Dragunov dodges a 619, but takes the move on a second attempt by Dom for a near fall. Dragunov fires up again, leading to a superplex. Dom rolled out to apron as Dragunov teased doing one of his finishers. Dom gives Dragunov a DDT on the apron, but Dragunov fights back yet again. Dragunov powerbombs Dom, and Dragunov follows up with the H-Bomb finisher.
Dragunov is going to deliver his other finisher when Finn Balor and Damian Priest run in. Instead of calling for a DQ, LA Knight fights off Judgment Day. Ripley goes to hit Dragunov with a belt shot, but Dragunov ducks. Trick Williams runs down to grab Ripley off the apron. Meanwhile, Dragunov levels Dom with Torpedo Moskau. Dragunov then scores the deciding pinfall.
Corbin comes out to confront Dragunov. Before Corbin can get in the ring, Dijak jumps Dragunov and hits the champ with a sneak attack. Dijak leaves Dragunov lying in the ring, and Dijak then confronts Corbin. Dijak apparently believes his is the next challenger because he attacked first. Not sure that is how that works, but whatever.
John Cena is in the locker room talking with Carmelo Hayes. In walks Trick Williams, and he introduces himself to Cena. Hayes tries to apologize to Williams, and they do some comedy with Cena. Willaims does not look happy as Hayes leaves. Cena asks Williams if he is good, and Williams asks Cena when he knew it what his time. Cena then takes Williams under his wing to talk.
Paul Heyman is seen talking with Ava.
Arriving to the building in a white SUV is Jade Cargill. She exits the vehicle, and she is greeted by Shawn Michaels, and they enter the building.
Baron Corbin confronts Cody Rhodes, and Corbin wants Rhodes to book a Corbin against Dragunov in a title match at Halloween Havoc. Rhodes instead books a number one contender’s triple threat match for next week with Corbin against Dijak and the winner of Hayes-Breakker later on.
Lola Vice (with Elektra Lopez) defeated Dani Palmer in a first round match in the NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament
Vice pinned Palmer to advance in the tournament. Palmer had countered a triangle to have Vice in a pinning combination. Vice kicked out and then booted Palmer with a kick. A three count followed, and Vice is moving on in the tournament.
Thea Hail rejoins the class at Chase U, but Hail is joined by Jacy Jayne. Hail and Jayne interrupt the lecture by talking among themselves. Andre Chase flips out on the students and Jayne. She in turn announces that Chase and Duke Hudson will be part of the 10-team battle royal. This skit seemed like a way to get all of these people on an already loaded show.
Paul Heyman is hyping up Bron Breakker with a pep talk that only Heyman can do. As a pumped up Breakker leaves, Heyman commands his cellphone to call Roman Reigns.
Lexis King (Briam Pillman Jr.) is the focus of another vignette. King is watching old wrestling clips, which includes a bunch of Brian Pillman highlights. King heels on his father, and King talks about being unable to escape the business that inflicted so much pain on him. He will now inflict pain on it. King also says he is nobody’s “junior,” and King says he will take the name of the man that actually raised him. Thus the name change to Lexis King.
Carmelo Hayes (with John Cena) defeated Bron Breakker (with Paul Heyman)
Hayes pinned Breakker, after Cena thwarted interference from a run-in by Solo Sikoa. Undertaker returns as his “American Badass” character, complete with motorcycle, in a post-match angle.
Heyman does the ring introduction for Breakker as only Heyamn can. Hayman dubs him “Bad Ass” Bron Breakker. That would play into to the closing angle after the match.
Hayes was a house of fire at the start. Breakker was reeling as the show cuts to a commercial break. Back-and-forth after the break as they trade near falls.
They go for a high spot off the top rope, maybe a Frakensteiner, but they botch it. They try to sell it like a modified facebuster. More near falls after other high spots.
The fight spilled outside the ring, and Breakker picks up the a section of the ring steps. Cena takes the steps from Breakker, and Cena boots him in the gut. Solo Sikos runs in, and Cena smacks him with the section of steps. Cena and Sikoa brawl their way up the ramp to the backstage area.
Hayes gives Breakker a codebreaker on the floor, and Hayes goes to follow up by climbing the turnbuckles. Hayes leaps off with Nothing But Net, and Hayes covers Breakker for a pinfall.
Breakker gets his heat back after the match by spearing Hayes. Breakker stands over Hayes and proclaims their is only one “bad ass” in NXT (which plays off the Heyman intro from earlier). When Breakker utters those words, a gong sounds and the lights flicker. A motorcycle is heard cranking up, and “American Badass” by Kid Rock plays inside the soundstage.
Undertaker rides out on a chopper. The “American Badass” is back on his motorcycle. Undertaker gets face-to-face with Breakker in the ring. Breakker calls him an “old timer,” before also telling ‘Taker there is only one bad ass here. The studio audience chants at Breakker, cautioning Breakker that he “f’ed up” with that.
Undertaker gets on a house microphone to tell Breakker he will be a special talent one day … but that “ain’t today.” With that, ‘Taker dropped Breakker with a right hand. Breakker then takes a chokeslam, and Undertaker stands over a prone Breakker. The studio audience chants “holy s**t,” and then they explode into an Undertaker chant.
‘Taker gives Breakker a piece of advice. There is a always a bigger, badder bad ass waiting around the corner. Breakker just met the baddest of them all. Undertaker stands tall as the show goes off the air. What year is it?
Not sure I have ever seen any promotion hot shot a territory like WWE did with NXT tonight. It made for a fun show, but the legends and the main roster stars mostly overshadowed the NXT roster.

The one-man show features The Undertaker “in an intimate setting, sharing never-before-heard stories from his Hall of Fame career and taking questions from the WWE Universe in attendance.”
In conjunction with WWE’s Money in the Bank pay-per-view, Undertaker performed four one-man shows in the United Kingdom earlier this month.
The Undertaker is hoping to see Bray Wyatt get back on track in WWE.
In an interview with the Metro, Undertaker said he thinks WWE needs to get back to the original Bray Wyatt cult leader character. Undertaker said recent iterations of Wyatt’s character have made it difficult for Wyatt to have matches.
“They need to back Bray’s character up to the original character, get away from – they’ve kind of got themselves booked into a situation where it’s kind of difficult for him to have matches,” Undertaker told the Metro. “I think the original Wyatt Family Bray, that’s the money.”
Wyatt has been away from WWE for several months due to an illness. He was supposed to face Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania 39 this April before the match had to be scrapped.
Wyatt was playing the character The Fiend when he was released by WWE in July 2021. He returned with a new character last October but has only had one televised match since then, defeating LA Knight in a Mtn. Dew Pitch Black match at the Royal Rumble this January.
Undertaker told the Metro that he thinks a lot of Wyatt.
“I got to work with Bray at ‘Mania the year after I got concussed in the Brock match,” Undertaker said. “I worked with Bray – I think a lot of him, and I like what he’s doing. I think they just have to figure out how to… they need to back it up I think.”
Undertaker defeated Wyatt in their WrestleMania 31 match. The two also shared a moment in the ring at Raw’s 30th anniversary episode earlier this year.
During an appearance on Out of Character in January, Wyatt said he can’t be the Hawaiian shirt version of his Wyatt Family character anymore without Brodie Lee there. Wyatt said he thinks it would be disrespectful to his late best friend.
In celebration of the 25th anniversary of their iconic Hell in a Cell match, The Undertaker and Mick Foley got together to rewatch the bout.
WWE uploaded a 28-minute video on Monday with Undertaker and Foley rewatching their Hell in a Cell match from King of the Ring 1998. While Undertaker won the match, it’s famous for the level of punishment that Foley took during it. There were spots where Foley was both thrown off the Hell in a Cell cage and chokeslammed through it.
Undertaker vs. Foley took place in Pittsburgh on June 28, 1998. It was the third-ever Hell in a Cell match.
To film the video rewatching the match, Foley left his family vacation, flew to Texas, and flew back within a 24-hour period.
“I gotta tell ya, there’s one man in the world that I would give up my Disney vacation for, catch a flight to Austin, Texas, and then go back in a 24-hour period,” Foley told Undertaker. “It’s you, man. That’s you.”
WWE announced today that Undertaker will host editions of his “1 deadMAN SHOW” in London, Wolverhampton, Manchester, and Glasgow this July. The dates are listed below:
Saturday, July 1, 2023 — Indigo at The O2, London
Sunday, July 2, 2023 – The Civic at The Halls, Wolverhampton
Monday, July 3, 2023 – Albert Hall, Manchester
Tuesday, July 4, 2023 – O2 Academy, Glasgow
The shows are taking place in conjunction with WWE’s Money in the Bank pay-per-view, which is being held in London on July 1. SmackDown will also emanate from London on Friday, June 30.
