The partnership between Trish Stratus and Zoey Stark has come to an end.
Their alliance imploded on Saturday night after Stratus lost a steel cage match to Becky Lynch at Payback. Stark interfered in the match and tried to help Stratus win, but Lynch was able to fight her off. Lynch pinned Stratus after hitting a Manhandle Slam from the top rope.
Stratus was angry at Stark after the match and slapped her in the face. Stratus told Stark to leave the cage, but Stark instead shut the door with them both still in it. When Stratus continued to try and bully her, Stark laid out Stratus with the Z-360 knee strike.
Stark then took off her “Thank You Trish” shirt and threw it down on Stratus.
The alliance between Stratus and Stark formed at Night of Champions, where interference by Stark allowed Stratus to defeat Lynch in their first meeting. Lynch finally got her revenge by defeating Stratus at Payback.
Lynch defeated Stark in a falls count anywhere match in the main event of Raw this past Monday.

Tuesday Update
WWE
Trish Stratus was interviewed by The New York Post ahead of her match at Saturdayâs Payback. When asked about the match not taking place at SummerSlam, Stratus responded âAt the end of the day, as long as we deliver, as long as we leave the fans entertained, satisfied, Stratus-fied thatâs what my goal is to come here and do the things we never got to do, show them something theyâve never [seen] before.â
Dominik Mysterio, Paul Heyman, and Shinsuke Nakamura will be guests on this weekâs The Bump.
Matches added to WWEâs YouTube today include Apollo Crews vs. Bobby Lashley from Payback 2020, Kevin Owens vs. Jey Uso from the July 29, 2022 edition of Raw, and John Cena & Randy Orton vs. Sheamus & Edge from the June 14, 2010 edition of Raw.
Samoa Joe on X: âKnow that there are some people in life who will cherish your friendship, and others who will commodify it. Both relationships can work on some level as long as you are treating it the same way. That being said, the latter usually sucks.â
Chris Jericho responded âYupâ on X when a fan said that Jerichoâs interactions with Bob Barker being omitted from WWEâs tribute on Mondayâs Raw was âtypical WWE pettinessâ.
Terrifier 2, which features Jericho, will be re-released on November 8.
It appears that Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus’ steel cage match will be going down at WWE Payback.
The cage match between Lynch and Stratus was announced on Raw earlier this week, but WWE didn’t reveal when it would be taking place. An announcement on this week’s episode of Main Event then stated that the match will be happening at Payback.
Payback is being held in Pittsburgh on Saturday, September 2. This is the first match that’s set for the pay-per-view.
The steel cage stipulation for Lynch vs. Stratus is a way to stop Zoey Stark from getting involved. She’s repeatedly helped Stratus during this feud with Lynch.
Stark aligned with Stratus when she helped Stratus defeat Lynch at Night of Champions this May. It looked like a rematch between Lynch and Stratus was being planned for SummerSlam, but that didn’t end up happening. They had a brief match on the July 31 episode of Raw that saw Stark immediately interfere and attack Lynch.
Lynch and Stratus then had a match on Raw this Monday that ended in a double countout. As Lynch and Stratus brawled in the concourse, Stark again got involved and helped Stratus lay out Lynch.
Adam Pearce yelled at Stratus and Stark after the brawl and informed them that the next match between Lynch and Stratus would be taking place inside of a steel cage.
Trish Stratus is set to wrestle on house shows for the first time in nearly 17 years at this weekend’s WWE live events.
Stratus announced on Thursday that she has been added to the lineup for the Saturday, August 19 house show in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and the Sunday, August 20 house show in Laval, Quebec, Canada.
Stratus did an in-character post on social media regarding the events, stating that she was added to the shows after “souring” ticket sales.
Guess whoâs been added to the Canadian @WWE Live Events this weekend? Word is they needed a stratusfying boost after sales were souringđ
Stratus also announced an appearance for Monday’s Raw in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada.
Prior to this coming weekend, Stratus last wrestled on a WWE house show in 2006, challenging Lita for the WWE Women’s Championship at an event in Erie, Pennsylvania on August 27 of that year.
Becky Lynch and Stratus continued their months-long feud on Monday’s Raw episode, wrestling to a double countout in a match where Stratus ally Zoey Stark was banned from ringside. Stark interfered as the match spilled to the arena concourse after the double countout.
A Stratus vs. Lynch steel cage match was later announced during Monday’s Raw show, but no date was advertised for the bout.
Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus will meet inside a steel cage.
Stratus and Lynch wrestled to a double count out on Raw Monday after the two started to brawl outside of the ring. After the bell had sounded ending the match, they brawled through the crowd and into a nearby merchandise stand. As Lynch was about to take out Stratus on top of a table Zoey Stark, who had been barred at ringside, clipped Lynchâs leg allowing Stratus to lay out Lynch, ending the segment.
Later backstage, Adam Pearce confronted Stratus and Stark, telling Stratus that she will wrestle Lynch again and next time, it would be inside a steel cage. It wasn’t said when the steel cage match will take place.
Lynch and Stratus have been feuding dating back to when Stratus turned on Lynch in the weeks following WrestleMania. The two first wrestled at Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia back in May, with Stark helping Stratus defeat Lynch. After several months, Lynch was finally awarded a match with Stratus after defeating Stark on a recent episode of Raw.
Date: August 14, 2023 Location: Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg, MB

Show Recap —
Michael Cole said tonight was a night of massive matches and they proceeded to announce two matches. Cody Rhodes faces Finn BĂĄlor, Becky Lynch faces Trish Stratus (with Zoey Stark banned from ringside), plus an interview with Shinsuke Nakamura.
Opening segment
Rhea Ripley, Damian Priest, and Dominik Mysterio entered without BĂĄlor. Ripley said they ran Raw but admitted things havenât been going their way lately. Priest said BĂĄlor should have won the world title at SummerSlam and Judgment Day should have won their six-man tag match last week. Priest said Judgment Day would still dictate what happens on Raw as long as he had the briefcase.
Priest said BĂĄlor would beat Rhodes tonight and BĂĄlor should be out there telling us this himself. He assured us that Judgment Day was not breaking up but proceeded to rant about BĂĄlorâs absence (as Ripley tried to calm him down).
JD McDonagh interrupted. Priest warned him to choose his words wisely. McDonagh said he wasnât there to disrespect the most dominant faction in WWE. McDonagh relayed a message from BĂĄlor â worry about the real targets: Cody Rhodes and Sami Zayn. Ripley told him they donât take orders from anyone.
Dom told McDonagh they had things locked down (while the crowd drowned him out). Dom said he was the NXT North American Champion and added: âI just found out that Canada is a part of North America so I guess Iâm the champion of this dump.â Ripley told McDonagh to tell BĂĄlor that they needed to talk.
Zayn interrupted. Fortunately, he was not there to talk. Zayn attacked McDonagh (who took him out last week). However, Zayn took his attention away from McDonagh to look at Judgment Day so McDonagh slammed his injured arm into the ring post.
********
The following match was made official during a commercial break. Zaynâs left arm was taped up and he wore an elbow pad.
Sami Zayn defeated JD McDonagh (11:43)
McDonagh worked over Zaynâs arm and removed the coverings. Zayn tried fighting back but McDonagh went after the arm and hit a knee drop on the arm over the announce desk.
After a break, McDonagh caught Zayn mid-air with a dropkick as Zayn came off the top. Zayn fought back with a clothesline, punches, and a one-armed Michinoku Driver (which looked great) for two.
McDonagh responded with a Spanish Fly for two and transitioned into a crossface (trapping the injured arm) but Zayn got the ropes. McDonagh kicked the bad arm repeatedly but Zayn gave him an exploder into the corner.
BĂĄlor sauntered out and ran down the aisle but stopped short of the ring. The distraction allowed McDonagh to apply a cradle for two. McDonagh hit a headbutt and tried a moonsault but Zayn got his feet up.
Zayn knocked BĂĄlor off the apron before hitting McDonagh with Helluva Kick for the pinfall win.
(Pretty good match thanks in part to Zayn doing a great job selling his arm.)
********
Chelsea Green met with Adam Pearce. Pearce was about to announce that he was stripping her of the tag titles but Green cut him off. She called him predictable and threatened to call human resources. Pearce asked what she would do if she were in his position. Green suggested they hold auditions for her new partner.
Kayden Carter and Katana Chance entered and said they wanted the next shot as soon as she found a partner.
Piper Niven busted in and dropped Katana. Niven told Green that she was her new partner. Green tried to explain that she wanted to hold auditions but Niven made it clear that she was her new partner. Niven grabbed one of the title belts and they left together. (Pearce and Carter checked on Katana.)
********
Byron Saxton interviewed Cody Rhodes backstage. Saxton asked Rhodes about BĂĄlor being a loose cannon lately. Rhodes said you have to be a bit of a loose cannon to do this gig.
Rhodes admired BĂĄlor to a degree and said he was a leader in Ireland, Japan, and now with Judgment Day. However, Priest and Ripley were both leaders too. Rhodes said Dom was there too and figured he was the submissive one.
Rhodes said the group have taken out Liv Morgan and Kevin Owens but he was excited to wrestle in Winnipeg for the first time in many years and he would be ready for Judgment Day.
********
Gunther/Chad Gable segment
Gunther entered with Imperium and cut a promo standing on the announce table. Gunther said he was building his legacy as the greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time. As a European, he looked forward to visiting Canada. But after walking around Winnipeg, he realized why they called it the armpit of Canada.
Gunther spoke about his next opponent, Chad Gable. Gunther was impressed by Gable who has worked hard for years and might be the best athlete in the company but Gunther has already accomplished more in his career than Gable.
Gable interrupted by yelling âshooshâ and entered with Otis and Maxxine Dupri. Gable said he successfully lasted over five minutes with Gunther a few weeks ago but now Gunther was the one on the clock as he got close to the IC title record.
Gable said there was one thing in Guntherâs way: a guy who has been waiting and working for an opportunity for ten years. Gable was chasing him down and was ready to take the IC title. Gable said he would first deal with Giovanni Vinci tonight and told him to bring his beautiful, bald head into the ring.
Ludwig Kaiser said Vinci would embarrass Gable just like Kaiser embarrassed Otis last week. Ludwig flirted with Dupri. He said Alpha Academy was a sinking ship and offered his hand to save her before she became what they already were: an absolute embarrassment. Dupri slapped him.
********
Chad Gable (w/Otis & Maxxine Dupri) defeated Giovanni Vinci (w/Ludwig Kaiser & IC Champion Gunther) (5:06)
Vinci hit a series of hard chops but Gable came back with a release German suplex. Vinci blocked Gableâs moonsault attempt and hit one of his own for two. Gable responded with a Chaos Theory suplex for the pinfall win.
â Gunther was pissed and said this isnât how things end tonight. Gunther said if Winnipeg was the armpit of Canada then Otis was the armpit of humanity. Gunther ran down Otis while Otis swivelled his hips. Gunther demanded a match right now.
Gunther was in control but Otis fought back with wild fists and dropped him with a back elbow. They traded strikes until Otis hit a fallaway slam. Otis tried a Caterpillar but Gunther stomped him. This didnât look good so Gunther stomped him again. Gunther powerbombed the big man (which did look good) for the pinfall win.
â Gable hit the ring afterwards and immediately dropped Gunther with a German suplex. Gunther left with Imperium. (Kaiser had a slight look of concern on his face and Gunther yelled at him.)
********
Priest confronted BĂĄlor in the back but Ripley cut them off and said they were starting to lose their killer instincts. McDonagh tried to intervene but Priest told him to back off. BĂĄlor told McDonagh heâd speak to him later. BĂĄlor agreed with Ripley and said they should make things right tonight. They were all on the same page and Priest was pumped.
********
There was a video package hyping Edge vs. Sheamus for Fridayâs Smackdown in Toronto. (Iâll be there.)
There was a video package recapping the Bloodline angle.
********
Jackie Redmond interviewed Drew McIntyre (earlier today). Redmond said it was great to have McIntyre back on Raw and asked him what was next. Matt Riddle interrupted before McIntyre could answer.
Riddle offered to be his tag partner and already accepted a match against the Viking Raiders. Riddle ran down potential team names until McIntyre cut him off. McIntyre said he would be Riddleâs partner if he couldnât find anyone else.
********
There was an Indi Hartwell video package. She faces Ripley tonight.
Cole plugged WrestleMania tickets going on sale. Because theyâre allergic to saying dates, Cole said, âWrestleMania comes to Philadelphia the first Saturday and Sunday of April. Tickets are available this coming Friday!â You could tell he was doing his best not to screw this up.
********
Matt Riddle & Drew McIntyre defeated The Viking Raiders (w/Valhalla) (9:28)
The Raiders beat up Riddle through a break until he suplexed Erik and made the hot tag to McIntyre who hit both opponents with suplexes and neckbreakers before giving Ivar a Michinoku Driver for two. Riddle tagged in but had to fight off a double team before McIntyre tagged back in.
Riddle wiped out Ivar with a dive and McIntyre hit Erik with a Claymore Kick for the pinfall win.
********
Raquel Rodriguez approached Indi Hartwell and Candice LeRae in the back. Rodriguez was itching to get after Ripley but she still couldnât get cleared. LeRae told her not to worry and that she just had to be patient. Rodriguez wished Hartwell luck.
********
Riddle was excited about his new team and wanted to go after the tag titles but McIntyre told him to pump the breaks.
New Day approached them and they were offended that Riddle thought he could win the tag titles considering they werenât a real team. They were also offended that he made these comments on Kofi Kingstonâs birthday. Xavier Woods and Kingston challenged them to a tag match next week to see who would be going after the titles next and Riddle accepted.
********
Non-title match: Womenâs World Champion Rhea Ripley (w/NXT North American Champion Dominik Mysterio) defeated Indi Hartwell (w/Candice LeRae) (3:00)
Hartwell got some offence but Ripley won fairly easily via pinfall after a headbutt and Rip-tide. (Ripley also took out LeRae mid-match for the hell of it.)
â LeRae attacked Ripley after the match but Ripley started beating her up anyway. The babyfaces only got the edge over Ripley when they teamed up on her and they quickly bailed (once Dom hit the ring).
********
[THIRD HOUR]
Shinsuke Nakamura/Seth Rollins segment
Cole interviewed Nakamura in the ring. Nakamura wore an all-black suit. Cole said Nakamura has known Seth Rollins his entire career and asked why he attacked him last week.
Nakamura initially responded in Japanese before stating, âI want the world title.â Cole asked if he had to kick Rollins in the head. Nakamura again responded in Japanese before stating, âI win the world title.â
Rollins interrupted. He wore a lacy, all-white outfit and glasses (which was certainly in stark contrast to Nakamuraâs outfit). Rollins thought it was odd Nakamura would attack him just to get a title shot when he wasnât a hard man to find.
Rollins called himself a fighting champion who had the utmost respect for Nakamura â until last week. If Nakamura wanted a title shot, all he had to do was ask. Rollins said everyone was asking âwhyâ Nakamura did it but all Rollins was wondering was âhowâ he could get even.
Rollins said Nakamura got his wish because in order for Rollins to get what he wanted, Nakamura would get what he wanted. Rollins announced a title match between them. Nakamura was happy. Rollins said Nakamura just needed to name the time and place so Rollins could kick his ass. Rollins told Nakamura to shake his hand (to make it official).
Nakamura shook Rollinsâ hand before whispering something in his ear. Rollins seemed taken aback by the comment.
As Rollins looked around in confusion, Nakamura dropped him with a Kinshasa.
*******
Saxton interviewed Miz who claimed he was better than LA Knight in the ring and on the mic. Miz asked Saxton if he thought Knight was a somebody and Saxton said, âYeah.â Miz yelled at him and said he would beat somebody next week who was better than anyone Knight has faced. Miz also said he might just show up on Smackdown on Friday.
********
Trish Stratus vs. Becky Lynch ended in a double countout (11:38)
Stratus headbutted Lynch with her facemask but Lynch fought her off and hit an exploder. Stratusâ facemask fell off at one point and the referee gave her a moment to put it back on. Stratus tried bringing Lynch down with a handstand headscissors but she stumbled and had to try it again.
Stratus took off the mask and tried using it as a weapon but Lynch yanked it away. Lynch was distracted as the ref wrestled the mask away from her and Stratus knocked her down.
After a break, Lynch fought back with strikes and a leg drop for two. Stratus came back with a spear for two. Stratus tried a tornado DDT but Lynch blocked it and hit a superplex for two.
Stratus tried running away into the crowd so Lynch went after her. The bell suddenly rang and the match was⌠over. The ref called for a double countout.
â Lynch and Stratus fought up the stairs and into the concourse area where the fans were conveniently parted away from the action.
They fought near a merchandise table until Zoey Stark (in a hood) attacked Lynch. Stratus dropped Lynch with a Chick Kick.
(This was no good at all. The first half of the match was rough and got only slightly better once they got rid of the mask.)
********
Gunther told Vinci and Kaiser that tonight was an absolute embarrassment. Gunther wondered what he should do with Vinci who has been disappointing him since they came to Raw, and Kaiser wasnât taking care of his responsibilities because he was focused on âthat girl.â
Kaiser apologized. He offered to go to Pearce and fix this but Gunther told him no. Gunther said he would sort this out himself like usual and said he would defend the IC title against Gable next week.
********
Pearce accosted Stratus and Stark in the back. He was pissed and said Stratus and Lynch would have a rematch in a steel cage.
********
Next week on Raw:
Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods vs. Drew McIntyre & Matt Riddle
Gunther vs. Chad Gable for the Intercontinental title
********
Cody Rhodes defeated Finn BĂĄlor (14:05)
With Rhodes outside the ring, Dom ran down in a hilariously cartoonish manner with the intent to attack but Rhodes booted him. The distraction allowed BĂĄlor to hit a baseball slide and take over ahead of a break.
Dom and Ripley were still at ringside after the break despite Dom obviously trying to interfere in front of the referee.
Rhodes fought back with a powerslam and Disaster Kick for two. Priest made his way down as BĂĄlor hit Rhodes with a slingblade and headlock elbow drop for two. Rhodes dodged a Coup de Grace and hit a Cody Cutter.
Priest tripped Rhodes as the ref was distracted but Rhodes fended him off and wiped out both Priest and BĂĄlor with a dive. Ripley distracted the ref as Dom crotched Rhodes on the top. BĂĄlor followed with a superplex for two.
Dom slid a chair into the ring but the ref took it away. As Ripley distracted the ref again, Priest slid the briefcase in the ring but it went right under BĂĄlorâs hands and into the hands of Rhodes.
Rhodes hit BĂĄlor with the briefcase (with the refâs back still turned), knocked down Priest, and hit BĂĄlor with Cross Rhodes for the pinfall win. (The crowd was quiet for the bulk of the match but popped for the finishing sequence.)
â Dom and BĂĄlor attacked Rhodes after the match but Zayn ran out to make the save with a chair. Zayn also fought off Priest but was decked from behind by McDonagh. Judgment Day worked together to beat up Zayn and Rhodes as McDonagh looked on. BĂĄlor hit Rhodes with a Coup de Grace in the ring and hit Zayn with one outside the ring.
They cleared the table and Priest put Zayn through it with a Razorâs Edge. BĂĄlor gave Rhodes another Coup de Grace.
Judgment Day embraced each other and stood tall as the show ended.
After weeks of build, Becky Lynch vs. Trish Stratus will not take place at WWE SummerSlam, but on an episode of Raw next month.
As announced during Monday’s Raw episode, Lynch vs. Stratus in a Night of Champions rematch is set for the Monday, August 14 Raw in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
In a bout where Lynch would earn a rematch with Stratus if she beat Stark, Lynch defeated Stark on last week’s Raw. The Lynch vs. Stratus rematch did technically take place on this week’s episode, with Lynch defeating Stratus in seconds after Stark immediately interfered to cause a disqualification. In a follow-up backstage segment, on-screen authority figure Adam Pearce made another rematch for August 14, with Stark banned from ringside.
Lynch and Stratus met for the first time at Night of Champions on May 27 in Saudi Arabia. Stratus won the first bout with an assist from Zoey Stark, and the program continued through July’s Money in the Bank pay-per-view and on Raw in the ensuing weeks.
The Stratus vs. Lynch feud was set in motion on the April 10 Raw show, where Stratus teamed with Lynch in defending the Women’s Tag Team titles. After they lost the match, Stratus turned heel on Lynch to set up the Night of Champions bout.
Becky Lynch has earned her rematch against Trish Stratus.
On Raw Monday night. Lynch defeated Zoey Stark to earn a rematch against Trish Stratus. The stipulations for the match were that if Lynch had lost, she would of had to tattoo âthank you Trishâ on her body. It wasnât said when the rematch would take place.
The two have been feuding since shortly after WrestleMania, when Stratus turned on Lynch and cost them the tag team titles on an episode of Raw. Stratus revealed it was her who attacked Lita, allowing herself to enter their tag match and turn on Lynch. Their first match took place at Night of Champions back in May, which saw Stratus win after Stark got involved in their match, revealing their alliance.
Following Money in the Bank, Lynch demanded that Stratus face her in a rematch. However, Stratus soon emerged with a nose guard on her face, saying she was injured. Stark defeated Lynch on the July 10 episode of Raw, leading to the episode of Miz TV the following week where the stipulations for Mondayâs match were agreed to.
Trish Stratus defeated Raquel Rodriguez on Monday’s Raw to earn the final spot in the July 1 women’s WWE Money in the Bank match.
Stratus won the last qualifying match via disqualification after Becky Lynch interfered, attacking Stratus outside the ring and throwing her into the barricade.
The field for the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match is now set, with Stratus joining Lynch, Bayley, IYO SKY, Zelina Vega, and Zoey Stark in the bout.
The updated Money in the Bank lineup:
WWE Money in the Bank, Saturday, July 1, 3 p.m. Eastern time on Peacock & WWE Network —
WWE World Heavyweight Championship: Seth Rollins defends against Finn Balor
Bloodline Civil War: Roman Reigns & Solo Sikoa vs. The Usos
Men’s Money in the Bank ladder match: Logan Paul vs. LA Knight vs. Damian Priest vs. Butch vs. Ricochet vs. Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Santos Escobar
Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match: Trish Stratus vs. Becky Lynch vs. Bayley vs. IYO SKY vs. Zoey Stark vs. Zelina Vega
Trish Stratus is getting the chance to qualify for her first-ever Money in the Bank ladder match.
WWE has announced that a Money in the Bank qualifying match between Stratus and Raquel Rodriguez will take place on Raw this Monday (June 19). The winner will become the final participant to qualify for the women’s MITB match.
Becky Lynch, Zoey Stark, Zelina Vega, Bayley, and IYO SKY have already been confirmed for Money in the Bank. If Bayley loses to Shotzi on SmackDown next Friday, Shotzi will replace her in the bout.
With the help of a new ally in Stark, Stratus defeated Lynch when they faced off at Night of Champions last month.
Stratus vs. Rodriguez is one of three new matches that’s been made official for Monday’s Raw. Rhea Ripley vs. Natalya and Matt Riddle vs. Ludwig Kaiser have both also been added to the lineup for the episode.
Ripley vs. Natalya will be a non-title match. At Night of Champions, Ripley retained the SmackDown Women’s Championship against Natalya in dominant fashion.
Trish Stratus found a new ally at Saturday’s Night of Champions pay-per-view.
Stratus was able to defeat Becky Lynch in Saudi Arabia after getting help from Zoey Stark. Stark was recently called up from NXT in the WWE Draft.
Lynch hit the Manhandle Slam on Stratus near the end of their match, but Stratus was able to get her foot on the bottom rope. When Stratus rolled out of the ring, Lynch followed her and threw her back in. Stark, who had been hiding under the ring all match, then attacked Lynch while the referee was distracted. Stark hit her Z-360 knee strike on Lynch, busting Lynch’s nose open in the process.
Stark then sent Lynch back into the ring so that Stratus could hit Stratusfaction to get the victory.
Stratus and Stark celebrated on the ramp together after the match. Stratus taunted Lynch by saying that she outsmarted her.
Following her loss, Lynch tweeted out a message to Stratus and Stark: “Revenge is a dish best served cold. @trishstratuscom we have unfinished business. @ZoeyStarkWWE you messed up. Plain and simple. #WWENOC”
A contract signing for the Becky Lynch vs. Trish Stratus match at Night of Champions is among the segments set for next week’s WWE Raw.
After Lynch declared her intention to face Stratus at Night of Champions on this week’s Raw, a contract signing for the bout was announced for next week’s episode.
Also advertised for next week, Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar will be “under one roof” on Raw for the first time since Lesnar attacked Rhodes on the May 8 Raw. Lesnar vs. Rhodes in a Backlash rematch is set for Night of Champions.
After beginning on this week’s Raw, a series of sit-down interview segments with Corey Graves and Seth Rollins will continue next week. Rollins will face AJ Styles in the finals of the World Heavyweight Championship tournament at Night of Champions.
Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn will team with a mystery partner to take on Imperium’s Gunther, Ludwig Kaiser, and Giovanni Vinci in six-man tag team action on next week’s Raw. Owens & Zayn will defend their Tag titles against Roman Reigns & Solo Sikoa at Night of Champions, while Gunther is set to defend his Intercontinental Championship against Mustafa Ali at the pay-per-view.
Also set for next week’s Raw, Candice LeRae will face Zoey Stark in singles competition in a match set up in a backstage promo segment on this week’s show.

Show Recap —
Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn entered to a big reaction. Zayn spoke about their upcoming tag team title defence against Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa at Night of Champions. Zayn said this match was actually a gift because it gives them a chance at revenge against Reigns. Zayn said Owens should have beaten Reigns at the Royal Rumble and Zayn should have been him in Montreal.
Zayn said Reigns has cheated his way to the top, has gone unchecked for too long and he was now pushing things too far. Reigns has pushed the Usos too far and even his title reign. Being champion for as long as he has wasnât enough and now he wanted to tag the tag titles. Zayn got fired up, called Reigns a psycho and said Reigns can never have the tag titles.
Judgment Day interrupted. Owens was actually glad to see them because he was sick of talking about the Bloodline. Owens invited them in to fight before they could even say anything. Zayn got him to calm down and said they didnât have an issue with Judgment Day. Zayn wanted to hear them out and asked the gentlemen â and Dominik Mysterio â to speak.
Damian Priest said he would love to fight and Owens responded, âI told you!â Finn BĂĄlor and Priest said Owens and Zayn were back where they started â getting beat up by Reigns. BĂĄlor said the line started with them and Rhea Ripley, who was cheered, said they run Raw.
Zayn wanted to hear from Dom but the crowd was booing too loudly. Owens said this was pointless and asked if he could finally punch Dom. Zayn said yes but Ripley got in Owensâ way. Priest and BĂĄlor decked Owens so Zayn chased them off with a chair.
********
Owens and Zayn will have a non-title match against BĂĄlor and Priest tonight.
Shinsuke Nakamura defeated The Miz (10:00)
Miz took control before a break but Nakamura was back on offence when they returned. Miz fought out of an armbar and hit a DDT for a nearfall. Miz used It Kicks but Nakamura ducked the last one and hit an enziguri for two. Nakamura blocked a Skull Crushing Finale for a second time and hit a sliding German suplex.
Miz held on to the ring skirt and as the referee went to fix it, Miz poked Nakamura in the eye. Miz hit the Skull Crushing Finale but Nakamuraâs leg fell on the rope to break up the cover.
Nakamura followed with a Kinshasa for the pinfall win. The crowd liked Nakamura.
********
Adam Pearce informed Sonya Deville and Chelsea Green that their tag title match wasnât happening tonight because Liv Morgan was injured. Deville and Green whined until Raquel Rodriguez challenged Green to a match which Pearce made official. Green screamed at Rodriguez as Deville pulled her out of the room. Rodriguez told âKarenâ sheâd see her in the ring.
Imperium were shown walking through the back and Akira Tozawa did a 180 and walked the opposite direction upon seeing them.

Seth Rollins sit-down interview part 1
Corey Graves sat down with Rollins for an interview and they went all the way back to Rollins being crowned the first NXT Champion in 2012 (which included a clip of Dusty Rhodes raising his hand in victory). Rollins said change was needed in the business back then and he had the vision. Becoming the first NXT champ allowed him to pave the way.
Graves moved on to Rollinsâ debut with the Shield and asked why he turned on them. Rollins said they beat everyone there was to beat and if he wanted to reach his ultimate success, he had to take a risk.
More to come.

Gunther entered with Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci. Kaiser introduced Gunther to the crowd as Gunther stood on the announce table. Gunther said he dominated Smackdown as the undefeated and longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion of the modern era. He planned on continuing his mission on Raw but a challenger has yet to be determined â or earn his respect. He announced the upcoming battle royal winner would be his next challenger at Night of Champions.
Ricochet and Bronson Reed entered ahead of a break.
Almost everyone else was in the ring after the break except Apollo Crews and Matt Riddle who got TV entrances. Riddle chucked his flip-flops at Gunther during his entrance and Imperium had to stop Gunther from going after him.
Mustafa Ali won a Battle Royal to become #1 contender for the Intercontinental Championship (12:35)
Baron Corbin immediately eliminated Tozawa, Dexter Lumis eliminated Corbin, Mace and Mansoor eliminated Lumis, and Chad Gable and Otis eliminated Mace. Johnny Gargano superkicked Mansoor out of the ring and Mace caught him but dropped him upon seeing Lumis. Lumis stalked Mace to the back. Maxxine Dupri seemed happy with Gable and Otis.
JD McDonagh eliminated Humberto Carrillo, Dolph Ziggler eliminated McDonagh with a superkick and Von Wagner eliminated Ziggler. McDonagh attacked Ziggler outside the ring and chucked him into the steps and officials had to stop him from doing worse. (Graves said McDonagh was tugging on Supermanâs cape⌠in reference to Ziggler.)
This all happened in less than 4 minutes.
[SECOND HOUR]
After a break, the Viking Raiders eliminated Cedric Alexander, Xyon Quinn and Shelton Benjamin. Otis and Ivar collided mid-ring which led to an exchange between Gable and Erik. They fought on the apron until Otis drove Erik off for the elimination.
Ivar eliminated Gable so Otis went after him. As they battled by the ropes, Bronson Reed eliminated them both by himself, which looked impressive. Everyone else in the ring teamed up on Reed. Everyone traded moves moments later which included Crews bringing Reed down with a blockbuster. Crews eliminated Elias but Reed eliminated Crews.
Riddle brought down Reed with a floating bro before eliminating Riddick Moss and Gargano. Gunther ordered Imperium to go after Riddle so they tripped him on the apron which allowed Reed to eliminate him.
Ricochet and Ali teamed up but they couldnât eliminate Reed. Ricochet tried eliminating Reed with dropkicks but Reed caught him as he stood on the apron. With Ricochet on Reedâs shoulders, Ali flew in with a missile dropkick and eliminated them both.
Ali wins and will face Gunther for the IC title at Night of Champions. Ali celebrated as fireworks went off. Gunther didnât seem impressed. There was a decent pop for the surprise win.

Becky Lynch promo
Lynch said part of being âThe Manâ was being able to admit youâve been going through some stuff. We all go through struggles but we put a brave face on so we can try to be the people we want to be. Sometimes when we canât do it on our own anymore, we ask for help so thatâs what she did. She asked for help from Lita and Trish Stratus.
Lita was great and they won gold together. Stratus came back and hadnât missed a beat but Lynch missed the snake in the grass. Lynch missed what everyone else saw coming a mile away. Stratus only came back to help herself like the backstabbing ego maniac that she was.
Lynch wanted to say, âThank you, Trishâ because she turned a light on in her thatâs been missing for many, many months. When Stratus called her daughter stupid, she reminded her that the only thing that mattered in life was standing up for the people to matter and now Stratus gave her a target.
At one point, Stratus was number one but now Lynch was âitâ in this business and doesnât need a title to prove it. Lynch said she was âitâ until she said otherwise. Lynch would show Stratus how thankful she was when she kicked Stratusâ head in at Night of Champions.
Lynch was really good here.
********
Ripley was shown watching Lynchâs promo in the back. Cathy Kelley approached and asked about Natalya saving Dana Brooke last week. Ripley warned Natalya to stay in her lane. Natalya interrupted and said she was trying to help Dana Brooke and basically tried reasoning with her.
Ripley didnât buy it and thought Natalya was just trying to make herself relevant by getting involved with her. Ripley warned her that if she stuck her nose in her business, Natalyaâs career wouldnât be relevant, it would be over.
********
Ali bumped into Otis, Gable and Dupri backstage and he encouraged them to be positive like him. Ali continued on his way but bumped into Imperium.
Gunther congratulated Ali but felt regret for him because he was going to travel halfway around the world to suffer the biggest loss of his career and the beating that goes with it. Ali shook his hand before saying he would embarrass Gunther and take the IC title. This made Gunther smirk and Ali was happy that he was being positive.
*******
Dom mocked Xavier Woods on his way to the ring as the crowd loudly booed. Xavier Woods cut him off and said he was at least capable of fighting his own battles, unlike Dom who had to ask for Mamiâs permission.
Woods tried to go after Dom outside the ring but Ripley got in his face which led to a break. Woods was all over Dom following the break and hit a rolling clothesline for two. Dom responded with the three amigos suplexes but Woods got his knees up on a frog splash attempt. Woods followed that was a gutbuster for two.
Woods set up for his springboard elbow drop but, like last week, Ripley pulled Dom from the ring. Woods hit Dom with a dive and got into a face-off with Ripley again. As Dom distracted the ref, Ripley hit Woods and rolled him back in the ring. Dom followed with a cradle for the win.
Dom was getting a ton of heat but this finish fell completely flat.
********
There was a JD McDonagh video package.
Kelley approached McDonagh as he was leaving the arena and asked why he attacked Ziggler. McDonagh explained that Ziggler has done it all in this business and he was about to learn what everyone else on the roster would learn soon â never bet against an ace.
Veer and Sanga beat two guys and it was exactly what youâd expect.
Mahal grabbed a headset and said their story would be written in gold.
********
Imperium approached Owens and Zayn in the back. Gunther didnât appreciate the disrespect they showed his men last week. Owens didnât care and challenged them to a match next week. Zayn made sure to add that theyâd find a partner. Gunther was pleased with this.
[THIRD HOUR]
Cody Rhodes promo
Rhodes entered to a very strong reaction. Rhodes said he was familiar with this arena because it was the first home of Starrcade. He said Brock Lesnar wouldnât know that because he wasnât here tonight.
Rhodes told the story of the scorpion and the frog. The scorpion stung the frog because it was in its nature and it was in Lesnarâs nature to hunt. Rhodes knew that was his nature but also asked the hunter: âHowâs your face?â
Rhodes said Lesnar sees a black eye and staples when he looks in the mirror. When Rhodes looks in the mirror, he sees the guy who put them there and the guy who beat the biggest bully on the roster.
Rhodes said Lesnar was on top for so long because he was better than 99.99% of people on the roster but at Backlash, he was not better than Rhodes. Lesnar thought Rhodesâ win was cheap but Rhodes beat him with a wrestling hold in a wrestling ring.
Rhodes said this was about who was the next big thing on Raw. Everyone was right when they called Lesnar the ânext big thingâ but now it was simply time for what was ânext.â Lesnar should take his busted face and step aside because he was simply in Rhodesâ way.
(Rhodes signed a couple of autographs in the front row as the segment ended.)
********
Zoey Stark tried bragging to Nikki Cross (who she beat last week) but Cross didnât appear to be listening. Stark called Cross a freak when Candice LeRae jumped in to confront her. LeRae challenged Stark to a match and she accepted (for next week).
Tag Team Champion Raquel Rodriguez defeated Chelsea Green (w/Sonya Deville) (3:44)
Green got some offence thanks to a distraction by Deville but Rodriguez came back with clotheslines, three fallaway slams, a twisting senton, and Tejana Bomb for the pinfall win.
â As Rodriguez posed on the stage, Ronda Rousey flew in out of nowhere with a kick. (This was a funny visual.) Rousey told Rodriguez she must defend her title with or without Liv Morgan or else sheâll receive this same beating every single week. Rousey held Rodriguez as Shayna Baszler laid her out with a boot.
********
Paul Heyman shook hands with Gunther backstage before making a call to Roman Reigns. (Heyman had a âvisitorâ sticker on his phone to explain why heâs allowed on Raw, I guess.)
Seth Rollins sit-down interview part 2
Graves ran down Rollinsâ many accomplishments and asked why the current version of Rollins was the best one. Rollins said his hands were off the wheel and that was the fun part. There was a synergy between him and the fans and we were now getting the most authentic version of himself.
There was an organic relationship with the fans and for the first time in his career, he wasnât the one forcing the change, the WWE universe has been the catalyst in the change in him.
Rollins said he should be the new champion because it was time for a change again. The person at the top didnât want to take a risk with the title and they were all about protecting themselves rather than pushing the industry forward. It was time for a new champion.
Graves specifically about Reigns but part 3 comes next week.
*******
Next week on Raw:
Lesnar and Rhodes in the same building
Contract signing with Lynch and Stratus
Six-man tag: Gunter, Kaiser & Vinci vs. Owens, Zayn and a partner
There was a video package for Apollo Crews.
********
Finn BĂĄlor & Damian Priest defeated Tag Team Champions Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn in a non-title match (20:58)
Owens and Zayn were in control so BĂĄlor called for Dom and Ripley to join them at ringside.
Judgment Day were suddenly in control after a break but Zayn came back with a clothesline on BĂĄlor. Both men tagged out and Owens stomped away at Priest. Owens hit Priest with a senton outside the ring and dropped both BĂĄlor and Dom with clotheslines. Owens hit Priest with a cannonball for two.
Dom tripped Owens so the ref tossed both Dom and Ripley from ringside. As they were leaving, Xavier Woods ran out and attacked Dom (they went to the back).
Heyman showed up on stage and Priest was happy. Commercial break.
Judgment Day worked over Owens until Owens knocked Priest off the ropes and hit a senton bomb. Zayn tagged in and hit BĂĄlor with clotheslines and a Michnoku Driver for two. BĂĄlor came back with a slingblade but Zayn followed with a Blue Thunder Bomb for two.
Imperium appeared at ringside and the distraction allowed BĂĄlor to use a rollup for two. BĂĄlor hit a reverse DDT but Owens broke up the cover. Owens gave Priest a stunner and BĂĄlor tossed Owens from the ring.
Zayn gave BĂĄlor an exploder into the corner and hit Helluva Kick. Zayn had it won but Imperium distracted the ref. Owens shoved Gunther before Priest laid out Owens with a chokeslam. Zayn wiped out Priest with a dive.
Zayn set up for another Helluva Kick but Gunther held him by the leg as Kaiser and Vinci distracted the referee.
BĂĄlor dropkicked Zayn into the corner and hit Coup de Grace for the pinfall win.
Heyman was pleased.
(As the show ended, BĂĄlor intimated that theyâd challenge Owens and Zayn following Night of Champions.)
Becky Lynch returned to WWE on Monday’s Raw after a four-week absence, attacking Trish Stratus.
In her first appearance on WWE programming since Stratus turned on her on the April 10 Raw, Lynch interrupted a Stratus promo segment on this week’s episode.
Stratus continued her storyline crusade to find the “missing” Lynch, distributing “missing” posters in a backstage segment, then wearing a “missing” shirt to the ring for a promo segment.
After mocking Lynch and her “dumb” daughter, Stratus swerved the live audience by playing Lynch’s entrance music, but it was a ruse.
Stratus continued mocking Lynch, then Lynch’s entrance music played again. This time, Lynch appeared behind Stratus in the ring, then hit the WWE Hall of Famer with a right hand and an exploder suplex.
Stratus turned on Lynch on the April 10 Raw after attacking Lita, then taking Lita’s place in Lynch’s Women’s Tag Team title defense that night. Lynch & Stratus were defeated for the Tag titles by Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez.
Amid her feud with Becky Lynch, Trish Stratus is set to appear on Raw tonight.
WWE has announced that Stratus will be on tonight’s episode of Raw from Jacksonville, Florida. We’ll hear from Stratus as she appears live with a microphone.
Last month, Stratus turned heel by attacking Lita and Lynch. Lita was mysteriously attacked before a scheduled WWE Women’s Tag Team title defense against Raquel Rodriguez & Liv Morgan. Stratus replaced Lita in the match, which ended with Morgan pinning Stratus to win the titles. Stratus then turned against Lynch after the match was over.
Stratus explained her heel turn in a promo three weeks ago, claiming that Lynch has tried to rewrite history by taking credit for Stratus’ accomplishments. Stratus also confirmed that she was the person who attacked Lita.
Lynch hasn’t appeared on WWE television since being attacked by Stratus.
Both Stratus and Lynch were selected by Raw in the WWE Draft.
