TNA Impact Wrestling results: Open Fight Night returns

Previously: Bobby Lashley defeated Eddie Edwards in a 30-minute iron man match to win the World Heavyweight title.

Tonight: It’s the return of Open Fight Night. Jeff Hardy, The DCC, Trevor Lee, and Eli Drake will all be making open challenges in that order.

Show Recap —

– The Broken Hardys came down to the ring. The Seven Deities have told Matt that The Hardys must win all the tag team gold in the world. Matt mentioned that several teams were too scared to come to Total Non-Stop Deletion so they must go and find them.

He mentioned The Bucks of Youth, The Day of New, and The Family of Wyatt. The Seven Deities have provided The Hardys with a transportation device so they can go from place to place winning the tag team titles.

Jeff then made his open challenge and called out World Champion Bobby Lashley. Lashley knew Jeff would call him out and was prepared to defend the title. This meant that nobody else could challenge for the World title nor could anyone challenge for the tag titles. Jeff sent Matt to the back so he can do it on his own.

TNA World Heavyweight Champion Bobby Lashley defeated Jeff Hardy to retain his title

Lashley missed a charge in the corner and Jeff took over. They brawled on the floor and Lashley gave Jeff a sick looking powerbomb on the steps. Jeff hit the Twist of Fate and hit the Swanton bomb for a very close near fall.

Jeff hit a second Swanton bomb but Lashley got his leg on the bottom rope. They brawled on the floor. Jeff ran and leapt off the steps to rock Lashley with a dropkick. Jeff went for a flip dive to the floor but Lashley rolled underneath the ring and Jeff landed hard. Lashley hit the spear to pick up the win.

After the match, former World Champion Eddie Edwards interrupted Lashley’s celebration. Edwards congratulated Lashley and challenged him to a rematch. Lashley agreed to the match but if Edwards loses he doesn’t get another title shot.

– In the back, Tyrus and Eli Drake were discussing their open challenge for later. Tyrus promised that they’re going to shock the world.

– Backstage, Rosemary offered Brandi Rhodes a spot in Decay but Brandi declined. That angered Rosemary.

– A Day in the Life of Aron Rex showed Spud and Rex arriving in a golf cart. Spud rolled out the carpet for Rex.

Sienna (w/ Maria Kanellis) defeated Brooke

The match started with Brooke running wild on Sienna. Brooke chased Maria around ringside but got caught with a clothesline from Sienna. Brooke climbed to the top rope as Sienna distracted referee Earl Hebner, which enabled Maria to shove Brooke off the top. Sienna hit the Silencer for the pin and the win.

– A Day in the Life of Aron Rex continued with Rex getting his makeup applied. Spud complimented Rex and it ended with Spud and Rex saying that he looks “Rexellent.”

– The DCC came out to make their open challenge. They called out Decay and challenged them to a falls count anywhere match.

All three members of The DCC were in the match. They brawled around ringside and in the crowd to start the match. Crazzy Steve climbed up into the stands and dove off onto The DCC. Abyss spread thumbtacks in the ring and Steve brought in a barbwire board. Rosemary blew green mist in Eddie Kingston’s eyes and Abyss chokeslammed him in the thumbtacks.

Abyss tried to chokeslam James Storm on the barbwire board but Storm fought it off. Bram hit Abyss with a beer bottle and Storm superkicked Abyss into the board. Bram and Storm hit a spiked piledriver on Steve through a table that was wedged between the apron and barricade for the win.

– In the back, Maria and Mike Bennett congratulated Braxton Sutter for an amazing date with Laurel Van Ness last week. Sutter had a terrible time on the date but Maria wants Sutter to propose to Laurel. Maria will do something to Allie if he doesn’t.

– Grand Champion Drew Galloway came out and said he’s going to make the Grand Championship the number one title in the world. Moose interrupted and pointed out that Galloway had to cheat to beat him. Moose wanted a shot at the title but Galloway already had an opponent.

Grand Champion Drew Galloway defeated Rob Ryzin to retain his title

Rob got in some early offense until Galloway rocked him with a big boot and dominated the rest of the first round. Galloway hit the Future Shock DDT to win the match in round one.

Trevor Lee defeated DJ Z in a ladder match to win the X Division Championship

Trevor Lee called out DJ Z for Open Fight Night. DJ Z came out selling the injured leg from last week. DJ Z knocked Lee off the ladder and followed up by hitting a DDT off the ladder. Shane Helms passed a chair to Lee who used it to knock down DJ Z and worked the leg.

Lee then put DJ Z’s leg in the chair and locked the chair in the bottom rung of the ladder. DJ Z was trapped and couldn’t get out, which enabled Lee to climb up the ladder to win the X Division title.

– In the back, Robbie E challenged Aron Rex to a match right now but Rex would only face him next week.

Ethan Carter III defeated Eli Drake (w/ Tyrus)

Before the match, Tyrus called out Ethan Carter III to face Eli Drake. EC3 had a large purple bruise on his side. Drake jumped EC3 to start the match. EC3 fought in his jeans and sold his ribs the entire match.

They fought at ringside and Drake continued to work over EC3’s ribs. Drake tried to use a baseball bat but EC3 fought him off. Suddenly, EC3 rolled up Drake to win the match.

After the match, Drake grabbed the bat and went crazy beating EC3 with it. The lights went out and The DCC appeared in the ring. They teased fighting Drake and Tyrus but instead attacked EC3. Drake and Tyrus were celebrating when DCC jumped them too. The DCC gave EC3 a spike piledriver on a steel chair to end the show.

Next Week: The only thing announced for next week is that Aron Rex will go one-on-one with Robbie E.

TNA Impact Wrestling results: Matt Hardy is once again broken

Previously: The DCC defeated Eddie Edwards and Jeff Hardy in last week’s main event. Also, Ethan Carter III won a four-way number one contenders match for a shot at the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.

Tonight: Broken Matt Hardy will host a special Thanksgiving ice cream social from his home in Cameron, North Carolina. Additionally, EC3 will defend his title shot against Eli Drake; if Drake loses he can’t talk for the rest of 2016.

Show recap:

– Jeff Hardy came out alone with the TNA Tag Team titles draped over his shoulders. He’s going to invade the memory of Matt to bring it back. He challenged anyone from DCC to a fight. The DCC accepted the match for later and attacked Jeff. Jeff fought them off and avoided the Last Call superkick.

– In Cameron, Broken Matt was getting ready for his Thanksgiving ice cream social. Senor Benjamin was reading a dirty magazine and Vanguard 1 was drinking Matt’s freshly squeezed lemonade.

Go For Broke defeated Trevor Lee, Andrew Everett & Marshe Rocket and Rockstar Spud & Decay in a three-way elimination Team X Gold match

The winning team will get a future shot at the X Division title. The order of elimination was: Abyss, Mark Andrews, Crazzy Steve, Andrew Everett, Trevor Lee, and Rockstar Spud. The finish came when Marshe Rocket knocked DJ Z off the apron but Braxton Sutter hit the flatliner to win the match. Sutter and Andrews each earned shots at X Division Champion DJ Z.

– In the back, Maria and Laurel Van Ness continued to bully Allie. They’re forcing Allie to dress like a pilgrim and serve them Thanksgiving dinner on their double date later.

– Broken Matt continued to get ready for his ice cream social. He said his tangerine custard sorbet will make Chef Robert Irvine’s obsolete. That almost brought his memory back. A referee arrived and was going to show Matt something in an attempt to bring his memory back.

– Mike Bennett, Maria, and Laurel came down for a feast, which was set up in the ring. Allie came out dressed like a pilgrim. Braxton Sutter was Laurel’s date. Laurel asked Sutter to hang out later and said in college they called her Laurel Van Yes. Allie had enough and threw a pie at Laurel but she ducked and it hit Maria instead.

– Jade promised to defeat Rosemary inside a cage in next week’s main event to become the TNA Knockouts Champion.

– The referee showed Matt the times he defeated EC3 for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. Matt was shocked by what he did and still doesn’t remember a thing.

Ethan Cater III defeated Eli Drake to retain his TNA World Championship title shot

If Eli Drake loses he can’t talk for the rest of the year. In the middle of the match, Drake took the mic and started cutting a promo while beating on EC3. EC3 made a brief comeback. Drake went for the Blunt Force Trauma but EC3 countered into the sleeper to win the match. Drake cannot speak for the rest of the year.

– Reby had a hypnotist hypnotize Matt. His memory returned briefly but it wasn’t for long. Matt ran out to check on the gelato for the ice cream social.

Al Snow & Mahabali Shera defeated The Tribunal by DQ

The finish came when Basile Baraka used a low blow on Snow and used his belt on Shera. After the match, The Tribunal used their belts to beat down Snow and Shera.

– Aiden O’Shea announced that Grado will face Robbie E in a turkey suit challenge where the loser will have to wear a turkey suit.

Aiden O’Shea was at ringside. There was lots of dancing and nipple twisting in this match. Robbie E countered a sunset flip attempt into a pin for the victory. After the match, Grado put on the turkey suit and danced around with Robbie E.

– Rosemary promised to defeat Jade next week to win the Knockouts title.

Bram w/ DCC defeated Jeff Hardy in a no DQ match

Jeff had the advantage early in the match but Bram threw him outside the ring and James Storm and Eddie Kingston double teamed him. Storm and Kingston interfered freely throughout the match.

Jeff hit the Twist of Fate and climbed to the top. Storm shoved him off and hit the Last Call superkick. Bram then hit the Brighter Side of Suffering DDT for the win. The DCC posed with the TNA World Tag Championship over the fallen Jeff Hardy after the match was over.

– In Cameron, Broken Matt and Reby argued about Matt not remembering anything. Matt was frustrated and left the house. He asked for the deities to send him a sign and he was struck by lighting. Reby came out and asked if he was okay. Matt opened his eyes, regained his memory and said, “Yes, I am Broken.”

Next week: Jade takes on Rosemary in a Six Side of Steel cage match for the vacant Knockouts Championship.

TNA Impact Wrestling results: Jeff Hardy & Eddie Edwards vs. The DCC

Previously: Eddie Edwards retained the TNA World Heavyweight Championship by defeating Eli Drake. After the match, The DCC attacked Edwards and unmasked to reveal James Storm, Bram, and Eddie Kingston.

Tonight: Ethan Carter III, Trevor Lee, Mike Bennett, and Bobby Lashley will battle in a four-way number one contenders match for a shot at the TNA World Champion. 

Show Recap:

– Eddie Edwards kicked the night off by calling out The DCC. He said he wasn’t leaving until somebody came out for a fight. The DCC responded in a video. They said it’s not about titles, it’s about chaos and they accept Edwards’ challenge.

The DCC came down to the ring and Eddie Kingston attacked Edwards. Edwards made a comeback until all three ganged up on him. James Storm was about to hit Edwards with the World title when Jeff Hardy ran out for the save. Hardy took out Kingston and Bram while Storm backed off.

– In the back, Edwards and Hardy demanded that Aiden O’Shea let them speak to the boss. They want a match with The DCC.

Jesse Godderz defeated Aron Rex

This was not for the Grand Championship and was fought under regular rules. Godderz controlled the early part of the match until Rex took over. Godderz made a fiery comeback but Rex briefly regained control. Godderz countered a submission attempt by Rex into the Boston crab for the submission victory.

– In the back, Laurel Van Ness claimed that Braxton Sutter texted her. Allie’s feelings seemed hurt. Maria Kanellis showed up and pointed out that Brandi Rhodes was all alone because of Cody’s injury. She asked if Allie would team with Brandi and she said no.

– In breaking news, Gail Kim announced she is vacating the Knockouts title. She suffered an injury in her match with Maria. A new champion will be crowned in two weeks.

Brandi Rhodes & Madison Rayne defeated Sienna & Laurel Van Ness w/ Maria Kanellis

Maria sent Allie to the back before the match started. The heels isolated Rayne in their corner and wore her down. Brandi got the hot tag and ran wild on Sienna. Van Ness interfered but Rayne took her out. Brandi slipped out of the AK47 and drove Sienna face first into mat for the pin.

– Edwards and Hardy left the boss’s office and announced they’ll face all three members of DCC in a handicap match.

– Broken Matt sat on the computer deleting emails and ate a ton of candy. Reby pointed out that Jeff is at the Impact Zone fighting The DCC. Reby found some video she thinks will help bring Matt’s memory back.

Ethan Carter III defeated Trevor Lee, Bobby Lashley, and “The Miracle” Mike Bennett in a four-way number one contenders match

Lashley, Lee, and The Miracle ganged up on EC3 and beat him down. They threw EC3 out of the ring. Lee, Lashley, and Miracle turned on each other. Lashley gained control and guerrilla press slammed Lee on EC3 on the outside. Lee and Miracle worked together to take out Lashley and isolate EC3.

Lee and Bennett turned on each other and traded shots. EC3 made a comeback and ran wild. Lashley went for the spear but Lee countered with a standing moonsault fallaway slam for a near fall. The finish came when EC3 locked on the sleeper on Lee to win the match and become the number one contender.

– Reby showed Matt video of his past antics including his Final Deletion match with Jeff. Matt was shocked by his past actions and disgusted in himself. It appeared that Matt was about to have a premonition but it turned out to just be a sneeze.

– Up next was The Fact of Life with Eli Drake. His guest tonight was EC3. Drake was annoyed that EC3 has another title shot. Drake challenged EC3 to a match next week with EC3’s title shot on the line. EC3 agreed to put it on the line, but if Drake loses he can’t talk for the rest of 2016.

– Abyss and Crazzy Steve approached Jade and told her that she should go look for Rosemary.

Mahabali Shera defeated Basile Baraka

Baraka controlled the majority of the match but Shera made a comeback and locked on the camel clutch to pick up the victory. After the match, Baron Dax and Baraka ganged up on Shera until Al Snow made the save.

– Jade searched and found Rosemary. Jade said that it’s going to be her and Rosemary for the Knockouts Championship. The match will take place inside the six sides of steel cage.

The DCC (James Storm, Bram & Eddie Kingston) defeated Eddie Edwards & Jeff Hardy

This match had no count outs and no disqualifications. This was a wild brawl with all five guys in the match at once. Edwards hit a sick suicide dive onto The DCC and Jeff hit a crossbody. The DCC isolated Jeff on the outside and worked over Edwards in the ring. Kingston set up two chairs in the ring back-to-back. He set up for a suplex but Edwards countered and Kingston landed on the chairs spine first.

Bram hit the Brighter Side of Suffering DDT on Edwards off the apron through a table on the floor. In the ring, Hardy went for the Twist of Fate but Storm countered into the Last Call superkick to pick up the win.

Next Week: It’s a special Thanksgiving edition of Impact. EC3 defends his number one contender title shot against Eli Drake; if Drake loses he cannot speak for the rest of 2016. Also, next week’s show will feature an X Division elimination match.

TNA Impact Wrestling results: Cody & Brandi Rhodes vs. The Miracle & Maria

Previously: Eddie Edwards defeated Cody to retain the TNA World Heavyweight Championship in last week’s main event. After the match, Maria Kanellis ran down and attacked Brandi Rhodes. Also, Bobby Lashley defeated Moose to become the number one contender for the TNA World Championship.

Tonight: Cody and Brandi Rhodes take on the team of Mike Bennett and Maria. Additionally, Ethan Carter III tags with Jesse Godderz to battle the team of Aron Rex and Eli Drake. Plus, Broken Matt has invited everyone to the Hardy compound for Treat or Delete.

Show recap —

– The Hardy Family kicks off Impact from the Hardy compound. They’re celebrating Halloween. They enter a corn of maze created by Vanguard 1 and Senor Benjamin. Matt has a premonition that someone is going to send him a message later.

Eli Drake & Grand Champion Aron Rex defeated Ethan Carter III & Jesse Godderz

EC3 and Godderz controlled the early part of the match by double teaming Rex. The heels gained the advantage and worked over EC3. Godderz got the hot tag and ran wild. The finish came when Rex ran in and knocked Godderz out with a right hand with an illegal object. Rex used tape to cover up the object on his fingers.

– In the back, Maria was getting ready for her match later and was talking a bunch of trash about Brandi. Brandi showed up and Maria ran off.

– Jeremy Borash interviewed Grado. He promised to dress up as someone he’s always wanted to be for Halloween. He whispered it to Borash, who loved the idea.

– At the Hardy house, Matt gave green beans to kids that were trick or treating. Jeff sang obsolete to some of the kids.

– Grado called out Robbie E. because he wants to be a BroMan for Halloween. Grado went to the back and came out dressed as a BroMan. Robbie E. and Grado were dancing in the ring when the lights went out. The three masked men in black suits appeared. They attacked Robbie E. and Grado. The three masked men are known as DCC.

– Earlier today, Allie entered an empty Impact Zone and talked to Billy Corgan. Allie said that she knows she’ll probably lose to Laurel Van Ness but noted that sometimes you have to stand up for yourself.

Go for Broke (X Division Champion DJ Z, Mark Andrews & Braxton Sutter) defeated Rockstar Spud & Decay (Crazy Steve & Abyss) in Team X Gold

Go for Broke came out with a Team X Gold flag. The winning team gets to have the flag. The rules for the match are being strictly enforced. It was a good fast-paced X Division style match. The finish came when DJ Z hit the ZDT on Rockstar Spud to pick up the win for his team.

– In the back, Cody and Brandi discussed their upcoming match with The Miracle and Maria. Brandi promised to make Maria tap out.

TNA World Championship Contract Signing

Borash introduced the champion and challenger. Edwards and Lashley will meet next week for the championship. Borash announced that they cannot have any physical contact before next week’s match. Before Lashley signed the contract, Edwards taunted him until Lashley flipped the table and they teased fighting but didn’t. The title match is official for next week.

– In the back, Van Ness flirted with Sutter again this week. He still seemed uninterested in her.

– Back at the Hardy house, Gregory Shane Helms showed up dressed as The Hurricane but go denied green beans and left. Jeff showed up dressed as the fast talking Itchweeed. This is another of Jeff’s alter egos.

Laurel Van Ness defeated Allie

The story of the match was that Allie doesn’t know how to wrestle but she is determined to stand up to a bully. Laurel dominated the match but Allie made a comeback. It wasn’t enough as Van Ness hit the curb stomp to pick up the win.

– At the Hardy House, two people showed up in Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton masks. Benjamin told Trump that he’s going to build a wall and bury him under it. He shocked him with a taser. Jeff asked Hilary what happened to the 33,000 emails and Matt yelled, “Delete!”

– Another infomercial for “The Fixer” Tyrus aired.

– In the back, Jesse Godderz challenged Aron Rex to a match next week for the Grand Championship.

– At the Hardy House, a kid with a white mask dressed as Spider-Man gave Matt a message from DCC. The Hardys watched a video from the DCC. They challenged The Hardys to a match.

Cody & Brandi Rhodes defeated “The Miracle” Mike Bennett & Maria Kanellis-Bennett

Maria teased starting the match with Brandi but she tagged out, which meant the guys had to come in. Brandi was furious with Maria and wanted her back in. This distracted Cody and Miracle hit a superkick for a near fall.

Miracle dominated Cody for most of the match. Miracle bounced off the ropes and knocked Maria off the apron. Miracle and Cody ran into each other. Maria crawled around the ring and pulled down Brandi. Miracle held Cody for Maria but he moved and she gave Miracle a low blow. Brandi got the tag and ran wild on Maria. Brandi and Cody locked on dual submissions on Maria and Miracle to win the match.

Cody and Brandi walked backstage after the match. As they celebrated their win, Lashley jumped Cody and beat him down to end the show.

Next week: Eddie Edwards defends the TNA World Heavyweight Championship against Bobby Lashley. Also, Aron Rex defends the Grand Championship against Jesse Godderz. Plus, we find out if The Hardys will accept the DCC’s challenge.
