Je’Von Evans is excited about his upcoming Raw match.

Evans will take on a returning Gunther this Monday on WWE Raw in an opening round match in the Last Time Is Now tournament. Talking to Yahoo Sports, Evans considered it a blessing to take part in the tournament to decide John Cena’s final opponent.

“I’ve always been a fan of Cena, especially me being younger. He always played to the younger fans. I’m so blessed to be in this position and have this opportunity,” he said. “There’s a picture of my first WWE event — I’m wearing John Cena’s headband and wrist joints. This is insane.”

“I know that the process to get into [Cena’s final match] is going to be trouble, for sure,” he added. “It’s going to be mountains, it’s going to be speed bumps, but I’m willing to get there. Whatever I need to do, whatever I’ve got to do, whatever helps me get to that match, to have that match with Cena, I’m ready to take all that on.”

Evans has a busy week ahead of him. In addition to his match on Raw, he and TNA’s Leon Slater will challenge DarkState for the NXT Tag Team titles on this coming Tuesday’s NXT Gold Rush, which will be held at The Theatre in Madison Square Garden.

24-year-old WWE NXT wrestler wants to retire John Cena: ‘Screwed my father’s career’

A budding 24-year-old WWE star wants to finish John Cena’s because of a personal vendetta.

Earlier tonight, on the November 1st edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event, WWE announced the ‘Last Time is Now’ tournament to secure John Cena’s final opponent. Soon after the announcement, 24-year-old NXT star Brooks Jensen expressed his interest to face the legend in his farewell bout.

However, Jensen’s motivation wasn’t just about opportunity, it was a long-held personal grudge and vendetta. Explaining his situation on social media, the youngster wrote, “It’s been 22 years since John Cena screwed my fathers career over… maybe my time is now.”

Jensen is the son of former WWE star Bull Buchanan, who acted as Cena’s hypeman named ‘B²’ during his Doctor of Thuganomics run on SmackDown in 2003. However, not long after, Cena turned his back on Buchanan. While the Leader of Cenation became one of the most popular stars in the industry, Buchanan was soon sent back to OVW and later released.

Looking to avenge his father’s humiliation, Jensen publicly teased going after Cena while dropping several other crypic posts about his father’s partnership with the 17-time World Champion.
