Ruby Soho advances to TBS title tournament finals on AEW Dynamite

One half of the TBS Championship tournament finals are set.

Ruby Soho defeated Nyla Rose on tonight’s AEW Dynamite to advance to the finals. It was also announced tonight that the tournament finals will be held on the first Dynamite on TBS on Wednesday, January 5.

Soho will take on the winner of the Thunder Rosa vs. Jade Cargill semifinals match set for AEW Dynamite New Year’s Smash on Wednesday, December 29. Soho defeated Penelope Ford in the TBS tournament first round, then defeated Kris Statlander in the quarterfinals round.

After debuting in the Casino Battle Royale at the All Out pay-per-view in September, Soho challenged Britt Baker for the AEW Women’s World title at Dynamite Grand Slam later that month. She lost that match to Baker, which remains her only singles defeat in AEW.

The first Dynamite on TBS will also have an AEW World title rematch, with Hangman Page defending against Bryan Danielson. The two went to a one-hour draw at Winter is Coming last week.

Soho vs. Statlander TBS tournament match set for AEW Dynamite

A quarterfinals matchup in the TBS Championship tournament will take place on next week’s AEW Dynamite.

Ruby Soho will face Kris Statlander in a quarterfinals match on the Wednesday, December 1 show. The winner will advance to the semifinals to face Nyla Rose.

Soho scored a first round win over Penelope Ford back on October 23 to advance in the tournament. Statlander earned a bye to the quarterfinals by virtue of her standing in the AEW women’s division rankings.

Soho’s only AEW loss so far came in a Women’s World Championship match against Britt Baker at Dynamite Grand Slam in September.

The other semifinals match is also set, as Thunder Rosa defeated Jamie Hayter on this week’s Dynamite in Chicago to advance. Rosa will face Jade Cargill in the semifinals. Cargill also received a first round bye due to her place in the rankings, then advanced to the semifinals with a win over Red Velvet on the November 19 episode of AEW Rampage.

More matches for next week’s Dynamite will be announced during AEW Rampage Black Friday.

Darby Allin vs. Billy Gunn, two more matches set for AEW Rampage

AEW has revealed the lineup for this Friday’s episode of Rampage.

Darby Allin will face Billy Gunn in a singles match. The bout was set up on Dynamite when Billy, Austin and Colten Gunn confronted Allin in a backstage segment. Allin stated that he wanted the biggest and baddest that AEW had to offer, and Billy said he was the biggest, baddest guy in AEW.

The TBS Championship tournament will continue with a quarterfinals matchup. Jade Cargill will face Red Velvet in the tournament bout. The winner will advance to the semifinals and face the winner of the Thunder Rosa vs. Jamie Hayter bout set for next week’s Dynamite.

Also announced, Adam Cole will team with his former NXT Undisputed Era stablemate Bobby Fish against Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus.

Friday’s Rampage will be taped tonight in Norfolk, Virginia. Here is the full lineup:

Red Velvet advances in TBS title tournament on AEW Rampage

The quarterfinals for the TBS Championship tournament are set following AEW Rampage.

Red Velvet defeated The Bunny in the final first round match to advance to the quarterfinals. Velvet hit the Final Slice to win the match by pinfall. She will take on Jade Cargill in the second round.

Cargill was sitting in the front row during the Velvet vs. Bunny encounter, alongside her manager, Mark Sterling. A confrontation between Cargill and Velvet was teased both during and after the match.

The quarterfinals will consist of Ruby Soho vs. Kris Statlander, Hikaru Shida vs. Nyla Rose, Thunder Rosa vs. Jamie Hayter, plus Velvet vs. Cargill. Statlander, Rose, Cargill and Rosa received first round byes based on their rankings in the women’s division.

Red Velvet is now on a four-match singles winning streak in AEW, picking wins over The Bunny, Shalonce Royal, Skye Blue and Queen Aminata. Her last singles defeat came at the hands of Hayter on the August 25 edition of Dynamite in Milwaukee.

HIkaru Shida advances in TBS title tournament on AEW Dynamite

Hikaru Shida has advanced to the second round of the TBS Championship tournament.

Shida defeated Serena Deeb in a first round matchup on AEW Dynamite. With the win, she advances to the second round and a matchup against Nyla Rose.

Shida’s win was her 50th career AEW win. Deeb previously defeated Shida when she was going for that same 50th career victory.

Following the first round match on Dynamite, Deeb continued to attack Shida, so Shida will have a storyline leg injury going into the second round match with Rose.

The remaining first round matches in the TBS title tournament are The Bunny vs. Red Velvet, plus Anna Jay vs. Jamie Hayter. Jay vs. Hayter will take place on next week’s Dynamite.

Ruby Soho has already advanced to the second round, where she will face Kris Statlander.

Statlander, Rose, Jade Cargill and Thunder Rosa earned first round tournament byes by virtue of their position in the AEW rankings.

Ruby Soho advances in TBS title tournament on AEW Dynamite

Ruby Soho defeated Penelope Ford in a first round matchup to advance in the TBS Championship tournament on AEW Saturday Night Dynamite.

After The Bunny tried to slide a pair of brass knuckles into the ring, Ford and the referee struggled to grab the weapon. Soho then used the distraction to use an O’Connor roll to pin Ford and advance to the second round of the tournament.

After the match, Ford and The Bunny teased attacking Soho. The Bunny’s first round tournament opponent ran in to make the save for Soho.

Soho will now face Kris Statlander in the second round.

Another first round match will take place on this Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite, as Hikaru Shida takes on Serena Deeb. The winner of that bout will advance to face Nyla Rose. The winner of The Bunny vs. Red Velvet will take on Jade Cargill in the second round.

The other first round match will see Anna Jay face Jamie Hayter. The winner of that contest will advance to take on Thunder Rosa.

TBS Championship tournament match added to AEW Dynamite

A first round TBS Championship tournament match has been added to this Saturday’s edition of AEW Dynamite.

Hikaru Shida vs. Serena Deeb is set for this Wednesday’s Dynamite from Boston while dates for Anna Jay vs. Jamie Hayter and The Bunny vs. Red Velvet have yet to be announced.

The winner of Jay vs. Hayter will face Thunder Rosa (first round bye) in round two, while either The Bunny or Velvet will advance to take on Jade Cargill (first round bye). The winner of Shida vs. Deeb will face Nyla Rose (first round bye).
