NJPW crowns Super Junior Tag League 2023 winners

NJPW crowned the winners of Super Junior Tag League 2023 at today’s Power Struggle event in Osaka. 

Catch 2/2’s TJP & Francesco Akira overcame Bullet Club’s House of Torture’s Yoshinobu Kanemaru & SHO and claimed victory in the tournament finals at Power Struggle. 

House of Torture attacked Catch 2/2 both before the match and during the contest after a referee bump, but TJP & Akira landed their tandem knee finisher to claim victory and earn a shot at the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship at Wrestle Kingdom 18 in the Tokyo Dome on January 4, 2024. 

After their win, TJP & Akira were attacked by the Junior Heavyweight Tag champs, the Bullet Club War Dogs Drilla Moloney & Clark Connors. 

Connors & Moloney defeated TJP & Akira at NJPW Strong Independence Day in July to kick off their current title reign. 

Catch 2/2 are former two-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions.

NJPW’s Super Junior Tag League 2023 continued on Wednesday in Ishikawa. 

With only one night in the round-robin portion of the tournament left, only Master Wato & El Desperado control their own destiny. They lead the group with 12 points but are still not guaranteed one of two spots in the tournament finals on Saturday. Five teams sit just two points behind them with 10 points.

During the final stretch of the tournament, NJPW Super Junior Tag League came to Toyama on Tuesday.

Tournament leaders El Desperado & Master Wato were dealt a loss when they faced TJP & Francesco Akira in the main event. Here are the full results from the show:

NJPW was in Niigata on Monday as Super Junior Tag League 2023 action continued.

Master Wato & El Desperado lead the pack with a 5-1 record after night six. They defeated KUSHIDA & Kevin Knight in the main event of Monday’s show. House of Torture’s YOH and Yoshinobu Kanemaru and Bullet Club War Dogs’ Clark Connors & Drilla Moloney are tied for second place in the block with eight points each.

Night five of the tournament was headlined by El Desperado & Master Wato picking up a victory over the current IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions. Desperado & Wato defeated Clark Connors & Drilla Moloney,

After night four of the tournament, there is a four-way tie atop the group. El Desperado & Master Wato, Bullet Club War Dogs, House of Torture, and KUSHIDA & Kevin Knight all have 6 points and 3-1 records.
