UFC Fight Night 277 live results: Song Yadong vs. Deiveson Figueiredo

After a week off, UFC actions returns as the Octagon travels back to China for UFC Fight Night 277, taking place at the Galaxy Arena in Macau.

The main event is a five-round bout in the bantamweight division as Song Yadong takes on former UFC Flyweight Champion Deiveson Figueiredo. Both men are looking to get back into the win column following losses at UFC 324 in January, and a win here will get them right back into the title picture.

The co-main event is a light heavyweight battle pitting Zhang Mingyang against Alonzo Menifield with a spot in the 205-pound rankings on the line. Also on the main card is a battle of ranked heavyweights as Sergei Pavlovich battles Tallison Teixeira; a bantamweight fight between Kai Asakura and Cameron Smotherman; and a flyweight tilt pitting Alex Perez against Sumudaerji.

> Women’s Strawweights- Loma Lookboonmee (10-4, 7-3 UFC) vs. Jaqueline Amorim (10-2, 4-2 UFC)

Lookboonmee lands a calf kick. Lookboonmee lands another leg kick. Amorim shoots for a takedown as she pushes Lookboonmee against the fence. Amorim has the body lock on as Lookboonmee is defending. Amorim drops down and attacks a leg as they scramble to the mat, but she ends up letting go and lands from the top. Lookboonmee with a few elbows from the bottom. Amorim passes guard to north-south position, but she moves back into side control and lands a couple of short punches. Amorim looking to attack an arm. Amorim locks in an armbar. It is in deep and Lookboonmee is trying to fight it off, but she ends up tapping! Amorim picks up the submission win.

> Featherweights- Zhu Kangjie (21-4 1 NC, 0-0 UFC) vs. Rodrigo Vera (21-1-1, 0-0 UFC)

Kangjie with a hard leg kick. They both land leg kicks at the same time. Kangjie lands to the body and both land a leg kick. Vera scores a takedown. Kangjie is able to get to his feet against the fence. Vera lands a knee as they separate. They trade leg kicks. Vera lands a left hook. Vera lands a big shot and Kangjie goes down. Vera starts landing on the mat and Kangjie is in lots of trouble and it is all over! Vera scores the big finish.

> Women’s Strawweights- #14 Angela Hill (18-16, 13-16 UFC) vs. Jingnan Xiong (19-2, 0-0 UFC)

Xiong lands a leg kick and Hill lands a punch that makes Xiong stumble. They clinch and Hill lands some knees against the fence. Hill lands a knee and Xiong connects with a combo as they break apart. They clinch back up and Xiong pushes Hill against the fence, but they break. Xiong lands a leg kick. Xiong lands and they clinch. Xiong with some body shots and Hill lands an elbow and some knees. They separate as Hill lands a head kick. They clinch again and Xiong lands a knee. They separate. Hill lands a flying knee followed by a right hand. Xiong with a spin kick to the body and then a right hand. They trade in close range. Hill with another flying knee and a high kick and then Xiong lands a pair of right hands. They trade before tying up. 10-9 Hill.

Hill connects with a right hand. Hill with a jumping knee. Xiong lands a spinning back fist. Xiong with a right hand. Hill with a leg kick followed by a jumping knee and a right hand. They trade in the pocket and Hill lands a pair of knees. Hill continues to press forward as both land. Hill gets the body lock against the fence. Hill landing from the back on the feet. > Bantamweights- Rei Tsuruya (10-1, 1-1 UFC) vs. Luis Gurule (11-3, 1-3 UFC)

Tsuruya works the jab and lands a left hand. Gurule with a right hand. Tsuruya hurts Gurule with a left hand and then grabs the back of Gurule. Tsuruya lands a knee as they go to the mat. Tsuruya with an elbow and then some big punches from the back. Gurule is covering up as Tsuruya is reigning down punches. Tsuruya is looking for a rear-naked choke. Gurule is able to escape as they get to their feet. Tsuruya has the back and gets a slam takedown, but they pop right up. Tsuruya jumps on the back and has a face crank on as they go to the mat and Gurule taps! Tsuruya picks up the submission win.

> Bantamweights- Aoriqileng (26-12 1 NC, 4-4 1 NC UFC) vs. Cody Haddon (8-1, 1-0 UFC)

Aoriqileng lands a combo before Haddon scores a takedown. Haddon gets the back and starts working for a choke, but Aoriqileng is able to get free as Haddon lets go. Haddon landing from the top. Haddon starts landing some elbows and has Aoriqileng in trouble. Haddon with some more ground-and-pound as he’s landing lots of shots, though Aoriqileng is surviving. More big shots by Haddon as the round ends. 10-8 Haddon.

Haddon lands before looking for a takedown, but Aoriqileng defends. Haddon looks for it again, but Aoriqileng grabs the neck for a guillotine choke, but Haddon escapes. They get to their feet. Aoriqileng with an uppercut. Haddon gets the body lock and lands a knee and Aoriqileng goes down. Haddon starts landing lots of shots and it is all over! Haddon scores the big finish.

They trade leg kicks. Meng with a leg kick. Souza lands a leg kick. Souza lands a snap jab followed by a left hand and a right hand combination. Meng with an inside leg kick. They both land leg kicks at the same time. Meng with a leg kick. Meng with more leg kicks. Meng with more kicks as Souza lands a left hook. Souza with an uppercut. Meng lands a leg kick followed by a right hand. Meng with a right hand. Souza has switched stances and is slowing down as Meng lands another leg kick. 10-9 Meng.

Souza throws a kick, but Meng grabs it, though he lets go. Meng with a leg kick. Meng with a leg kick as he is chasing Souza around. They trade inside the pocket and Souza lands a big knee. They trade leg kicks. Dias lands a combination. Dias with a right hand and Lee almost goes down, but is on shaky legs. Dias with a leg kick. They trade and Dias drops Lee with a right hand and finishes it off with several follow-up shots. What a finish by Dias!

> Flyweights- #11 Alex Perez (26-10, 8-6 UFC) vs. Sumudaerji (19-7, 6-4 UFC)

Perez comes out firing punches. Perez lands a right hand. Sumudaerji with a left hand to the body but Perez rushes in throwing. Sumudaerji lands a left hand then a leg kick. Perez with a right hand before he pushes Sumudaerji against the fence. Perez with some short knees. Sumudaerji lands an elbow as they break. Perez lands a flurry of punches. Sumudaerji with a high kick. Sumudaerji with a combo then he works the jab and lands a high kick. Timeout is called for an eye poke on Perez. They get right back to action. Perez comes out firing. He shoots for a takedown but Sumudaerji lands to defend. Perez shoots for a takedown, but Sumudaerji defends. Sumudaerji gets a takedown, but Perez rolls for a guillotine choke. Sumudaerji defends as the round ends. 10-9 Sumudaerji.

Sumudaerji drops Perez with a left hand. Sumudaerji starts landing from the top as Perez is defending. Sumudaerji gets to his feet and the referee orders Perez up. They trade and Perez looks to get Sumudaerji down, but he defends and they separate. Sumudaerji lands a kick to the groin and timeout is called. Perez is throwing up in a bucket, so, technically, this fight should be stopped. The fight is stopped after Perez is unable to continue following the five-minute timeout period.

Matthews lands a combination. Harris fires back with punches. They both connect as Matthews comes in throwing. Both land again in close range. Matthews lands a right hand. Matthews lands a combo as Harris landed a leg kick. They clash heads before tying up. Matthews pushes it against the fence. They separate and Matthews lands a combination. Matthews wobbles Harris with a right hand. Matthews with an uppercut. Harris shoots for a takedown but Matthews defends. Matthews with a combination that connects. Both land and Matthews lands a big combination. Matthews with more big punches. Matthews lands two big right hands and they have a heavy exchange at the end. 10-9 Matthews.

Harris immediately shoots for a takedown, but Matthews defends and gets the mount. Matthews looks for a mounted triangle choke but ends up getting into side control. Matthews looks to attack the arm as he controls from the top. Matthews with some right hands. Matthews now looking to set up an arm-triangle choke. Harris looks for a guillotine choke from the bottom but Matthews easily pops his head out. Matthews lands from the half-guard. Matthews goes back for an arm-triangle choke but doesn’t have it fully locked on and lets go. Matthews back attacking an arm looking for a kimura. Harris lands an elbow to defend. 10-9 Matthews, 20-18 Matthews.

Harris lands a left hook. Matthews lands a right hand. Matthews lands a right hand and Harris goes down face first but he’s alert and Matthews gets on top. Matthews takes the back of Harris and lands as he has the body triangle locked on. Matthews ends up switching to controlling from the top. Matthews with an elbow from the top. Matthews with another elbow from the top as he’s controlling from the top. Matthews is pressuring Harris’ neck with his shoulder. Matthews gets the full mount. Matthews ends the fight on top. 10-9 Matthews, 30-27 Matthews.

Asakura with a heavy calf kick. Asakura with a high kick. Asakura with a right hand and more kicks. Smotherman lands a counter punch. Asakura lands a right hand and Smotherman goes down for a moment but gets up. Asakura pounces and drops Smotherman with a left hand and it is all over! What a knockout by Asakura!

Pavlovich hurts Teixeira early with some big punches and they back up to the fence as Teixeira is having trouble standing up. Pavlovich lands a right hand and Teixeira goes down and Pavlovich finishes it with shots from the top. Quick finish by Pavlovich.

Mingyang with a high kick. Menifield lands a calf kick and then clips Mingyang with a couple of punches. They tie up and Menifield pushes Mingyang against the fence. Mingyang with a knee. Mingyang gets the underhooks and reverses position and lands some knees. Mingyang with more knees. They break apart and Menifield lands a flurry of big punches. Both men then connect with right hands. Menifield looks for a takedown against the fence. Mingyang lands a big elbow and Menifield is hurt. Menifield recovers and lands a big right hand and Mingyang goes down. Menifield lands big shots as they stand. Menifield with more big punches and Mingyang goes back down and Menifield finishes him off! What a finish by Menifield!

They’re being patient more than a minute in. Yadong lands a few leg kicks while Figueiredo has done nothing until nearly two minutes in when he lands a body kick. Yadong with a couple more leg kicks. Figueiredo lands a body kick. Yadong with a jab to the body. Figueiredo lands a right hand. Figueiredo looks for a takedown but Yadong stuffs it. Figueiredo looks for a single leg but Yadong escapes and lands a leg kick. Figueiredo lands a body kick. Yadong slips on a kick and Figueiredo gets into the guard of Yadong. Figueiredo with some short punches from the top. 10-9 Yadong.

UFC on ESPN+ 110 live results: Henry Cejudo vs. Song Yadong

The Octagon is back in Seattle for the first time in over a decade as UFC on ESPN+ 110 takes place inside the Climate Pledge Arena.

In the main event, former two-division UFC champion Henry Cejudo looks to get back into the title picture when he squares off against Song Yadong. Both men are coming off layoffs of around a year as Cejudo is coming off a loss to Merab Dvalishvili last February while Song is returning from a loss at the hands of Petr Yan last March.

In the co-main event, it’s a battle of middleweight contenders looking to get into the title picture as Brendan Allen, coming off a loss, against Anthony Hernandez, winner of six straight.

Also on the main card is a catchweight bout between Rob Font and undefeated Jean Matsumoto; a featherweight bout between Jean Silva and Melsik Baghdasaryan; and a light heavyweight bout pitting Alonzo Menifield against the debuting Julius Walker.

> Light Heavyweights- Modestas Bukauskas (16-6, 4-4 UFC) vs. Rafael Cerqueira (11-1, 0-1 UFC)

Bukauskas lands a left hook to the body and they trade punches. Cerqueira with a leg kick but then eats a combo from Bukauskas. Cerqueira lands a heavy inside leg kick. Cerqueira lands a body kick. Bukauskas with a calf kick. Bukauskas lands a one-two combination. Cerqueira connects with a straight right hand. He lands another. He lands with one again. Bukauskas wobbles Cerqueira with some big punches and then drops him with a right hand and Cerqueira is out and done! What a finish from Bukauskas!

McConico lands a leg kick. They’re feeling each other out with no action happening. Ruziboev misses with a right hand. Ruziboev connects as McConico was throwing a kick, and Ruziboev also lands a knee. Ruziboev with a short leg kick. Ruziboev lands and then forces McConico to the fence in a clinch. Not much happens before they separate. Ruziboev lands a right hand and then another. He lands another and then another right hand. Ruziboev with a body kick. 10-9 Ruziboev.

They’re trading punches to start the second. Ruziboev lands and then lands and McConico falls to the mat. Ruziboev starts taking advantage and is teeing off as McConico stands and Ruziboev keeps landing as he is swarming on McConico. McConico goes down again and it is all over! What a finish from Ruziboev!

Veretennikov with a pair of inside leg kicks. They trade jabs. Veretennikov lands a right hand as Vanderford lands a leg kick. Vanderford scores a takedown. They trade punches on the mat as Vanderford is inside the guard. Vanderford landing punches and elbows from the top and Veretennikov is cut open. Vanderford controlling from the top. Vanderford attacking for the arm-triangle choke but Veretennikov gets out. He attacks it again but ends up on the back but has it locked back in tight. Veretennikov is fighting it. Vanderford lets go as he gets back to mount. 10-9 Vanderford.

Basharat lands a jab. Simon grabs the back and gets a big takedown but Basharat explodes to his feet. Simon still has control but they break apart. They trade punches. Simon with a leg kick and shoots for a takedown but Basharat defends as they go to the fence. They trade left hands. Simon looks for a takedown as he pushes it to the fence but they quickly separate. Basharat lands a counter left hand and then a body kick. Basharat lands to the body. Simon with a jab. Simon then lands a big right hand and Basharat goes down out cold. An absolutely brutal knockout by Simon to pick up the win.

Klein with an inside leg kick. He shoots for a takedown but Abdul-Malik defends and they stand. Abdul-Malik pushing the action around as Klein lands a couple of short leg kicks. Klein looks for the leg but lets go. Abdul-Malik lands a pair of jabs. Klein lands a spinning elbow and Abdul-Malik is hurt. Klein rushes in and scores a takedown. They scramble up and Klein lands some left hands. Klein has back control. Klein with some short knees. Klein trying to get it down but Abdul-Malik is keeping it upright. Klein with some punches to the thighs of Abdul-Malik. They separate. 10-9 Klein.

They trade and Klein looks for a takedown against the fence. Klein still working for the takedown against the fence but they separate. Abdul-Malik lands a jab. Klein with a pair of inside leg kicks. Abdul-Malik lands as Klein is still looking for a takedown. Abdul-Malik lands and throws Klein to the mat. Abdul-Malik teeing off with tons of punches and he connects with the jaw and is continuing to swarm with punches. Abdul-Malik with big punches and a knee and continues to land until it is stopped. Costa with a body kick and Fili just misses a head kick. They trade head kicks. They trade body kicks. Fili scores a takedown. Costa is attacking for a guillotine choke. It is in tight and Fili taps! A finish out of nowhere from Costa.

They trade big punches in the pocket. Cutelaba shoots for a takedown but Aslan defends. Cutelaba with a right hand. Aslan lands an uppercut. Cutelaba has the back and drags it down. They get up and separate. Cutelaba lands a right hand and Aslan briefly goes down. Cutelaba gets a slam takedown into side control. The Octagon is back inside the UFC Apex in Las Vegas for the final time in 2023 for UFC On ESPN+ 91: Song vs. Gutierrez.

The main event is a five-round battle of ranked bantamweights as Song Yadong takes on Chris Gutierrez, who is in his first UFC main event. Both men are looking to notch their second consecutive win as Song is coming off a win over Ricky Simon in April, while Gutierrez is coming off a win over Alatengheili in October.

In the co-main event, it is a light heavyweight battle as former title challenger Anthony Smith takes on Khalil Rountree. Also on the main card is a lightweight match-up between Nasrat Haqparast and Jamie Mullarkey, a bantamweight bout pitting Tim Elliott against Sumudaerji, and a middleweight bout between Jun Song Park and Andre Muniz.

The Octagon is back inside the UFC Apex for another Las Vegas fight card with UFC on ESPN 45 — this one being headlined by a pair of top ten bantamweights looking to break into the title picture.

Eighth-ranked Song Yadong takes on tenth-ranked Ricky Simon in the five-round main event in what looks to be an exciting bout. Yadong is looking to get back into the win column after suffering a loss to Cory Sandhagen in September that ended a three-fight win streak. Simon comes into this fight having won five straight fights with three of those coming via a finish.

Also on the main card is a pair of middleweight bouts as Caio Borralho takes on Michal Oleksiejczuk while Rodolfo Vieira battles Cody Brundage. Plus, Julian Erosa takes on the debuting Fernando Padilla while Marcos Rogerio de Lima battles Waldo Cortes-Acosta.

After a wild week, the Octagon is back at the UFC Apex after a much quieter week with a bantamweight headliner that could have title shot implications riding on it.

Cory Sandhagen fights for the first time in 2022 as he looks to get back into the win column when he battles Song Yadong in the five-round main event. Sandhagen last fought in October at UFC 267, coming up short in his shot at winning the Interim UFC Bantamweight Champion as he dropped a decision to Petr Yan. He remains one of the top-ranked bantamweights in the world and would be right back in the mix with a win. Song looks to extend his three-fight win streak, and he has just one loss in his ten UFC appearances.

Also on the main card is a middleweight bout pitting Chidi Njokuani against Gregory Rodrigues, a featherweight bout between Andre Fili and Bill Algeo, and a heavyweight bout that sees Tanner Boser take on Rodrigo Nascimento.

Robertson grabs the leg and looks for the takedown against the fence and Agapova lands some punches and elbows to defend. Agapova landing big elbows to the side of the head of Robertson. Robertson tries the takedown but Agapova ends up on top and lands hammerfists. Robertson gets the back. Agapova trying to reverse and is landing punches. They get to their feet and break. Agapova with a body kick. Agapova lands a left hand. Robertson shoots for the takedown and Agapova lands punches to defend. Robertson still has the leg and Agapova landing punches. Jackson lands a front kick and some early shots that hurt Sabatini and he jumps on top and is landing big shots and then gets the back of Sabatini. Jackson with big punches from the the back and he gets the finish. Big win for Jackson, who lost his brother earlier in the week.

Barriault comes rushing forward and lands a right hand. Hernandez lands some punches and elbows and gets the takedown into side control. He moves to the half-guard. He continues to land and is working Barriault over from the top. They get to their feet and separate. Hernandez with a right hand and gets another takedown. Hernandez lands from the top and gets the back but uses it to transition to the full mount. Hernandez stands and Barriault is able to get up. They trade to start the second. Nascimento lands a right hand as Boser lands a body kick. Boser lands the jab. They’re both landing and Boser lands some good shots. Rodrigues gets a takedown but Njokuani is able to work his way up. Rodrigues is bleeding badly as they’re clinched against the fence. Njokuani with a knee to the body then an elbow. Njokuani with a body kick. Rodrigues lands a right hand then Njokuani lands a right hand that makes Rodrigues stumble. Rodrigues lands a couple of right hands and Njokuani falls down but gets up and they clinch. Rodrigues lands big shots and an elbow as they’re clinched. Rodrigues with a knee against the fence. They break after Njokuani lands a knee. They clinch again. Njokuani with a knee as Rodrigues lands some body shots. They trade at the end. Wild round. 10-9 Njokuani.

Song with a nice left hand. Song lands an elbow as they break a brief clinch. Sandhagen shoots for the takedown but Song defends and ends up in the guard of Sandhagen. They stand and Song has the backpack position. They’re both on their feet now as Song has the back and pushes it against the fence. They break. Sandhagen with a knee. They trade jabs. Song with a lead left hook and follows it with a jab. Sandhagen with a left hand. 10-9 Song.

Both looking for openings to start the second. Song lands a right hand. Song lands another right hand that backs Sandhagen up. Sandhagen is looking for takedowns but Song is defending very well. Song has a bad cut opened up on him. They clinch and both land some knees. They break and Song is a mess from the blood. Song with a right hand. Sandhagen with a left hand. Sandhagen with a hard leg kick. They clinch against the fence and Sandhagen with an elbow and Song throws some shots late. Close round. 10-9 Sandhagen, 19-19.

They trade to start the third and Sandhagen shoots for a takedown but Song defends. Sandhagen with a step-in knee. They’re both landing in close range and clinch against the fence. They break and Sandhagen lands some punches. Sandhagen picking up the volume and landing more with punches and elbows as the third ends. 10-9 Sandhagen, 29-28 Sandhagen.

Song with a body kick and Sandhagen lands a leg kick. Sandhagen with a body kick and follows with a combo. Sandhagen lands a leg kick and Song grabs the leg and gets a takedown. They get to their feet and Sandhagen gets a brief takedown and they scramble up. Sandhagen with a combo. Sandhagen gets a takedown and is on top in the half-guard and landing punches. Song landing from the bottom but Sandhagen remaining on top and Sandhagen stands at the end. 10-9 Sandhagen, 39-37 Sandhagen.

The fight is stopped before the fifth begins after the doctor says the cut over Song Yadong’s eye is too bad for him to continue. Song also said he couldn’t see. Sandhagen gets the win and this was a really good fight.
