United States title match added to WWE Extreme Rules

Former United States Champion Sheamus is getting a shot to reclaim the title.

Sheamus will challenge for Damian Priest’s United States Championship at Extreme Rules on Sunday, September 26. Sheamus became the number one contender to Priest’s title by defeating Drew McIntyre on Raw tonight.

McIntyre went to hit a Claymore on Sheamus near the conclusion of the number one contender’s match, but Sheamus reversed it into a roll-up. Sheamus held on to McIntyre’s tights for extra leverage as he pinned him to get the win.

During the number one contender’s match, McIntyre took off the protective mask that Sheamus has been wearing since breaking his nose this May. McIntyre hit Sheamus with the mask after the match and then laid him out with a Claymore.

Priest defeated Sheamus at SummerSlam last month to win the United States title. On Raw last week, Priest retained the title against McIntyre and Sheamus in a triple threat match.

Extreme Rules is being held at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. Here’s the updated card for the pay-per-view:

  • SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch defends against Bianca Belair
  • WWE Champion Bobby Lashley defends against Randy Orton
  • United States Champion Damian Priest defends against Sheamus

United States title number one contender’s match set for WWE Raw

The next challenger for Damian Priest’s United States title will be determined on Monday’s episode of Raw.

WWE has announced that Drew McIntyre and Sheamus will face off in a United States title number one contender’s match on Raw this Monday. The winner will challenge for Priest’s championship at Extreme Rules on Sunday, September 26.

Priest retained the U.S. title by defeating McIntyre and Sheamus in a triple threat match on Raw this past Monday. Priest pinned McIntyre to get the win. After the match, McIntyre showed respect to Priest by shaking his hand.

Priest won the U.S. title from Sheamus at SummerSlam last month.

In what looks to be a non-title match, WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Natalya & Tamina will face Nikki A.S.H. & Rhea Ripley on Monday’s Raw. A 24/7 Championship match with Reggie defending against Akira Tozawa has also been added to the show.

Monday’s Raw is taking place at FTX Arena in Miami. Here’s what’s been announced for the episode:

  • Raw Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair defends against Nia Jax
  • Tag Team Turmoil match to determine the next challengers for Randy Orton & Riddle’s Raw Tag Team titles (Mustafa Ali & Mansoor, Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods, Lucha House Party, Mace & T-Bar, Jinder Mahal & Veer, AJ Styles & Omos, and The Viking Raiders)
  • United States title number one contender’s match: Drew McIntyre vs. Sheamus
  • Non-title match: WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Natalya & Tamina vs. Nikki A.S.H. & Rhea Ripley
  • 24/7 Champion Reggie defends against Akira Tozawa

Damian Priest wins United States title at WWE SummerSlam

Damian Priest won the WWE United States title tonight at SummerSlam.

The finish of the match had Sheamus applying a knee lock on Priest. After struggling, Priest grabbed the face mask of Sheamus, ripping it off and exposing his face. Both men made it to their feet, where Priest connected with a kick then planted Sheamus with the Reckoning, pinning him to win the WWE United States title for the first time.

Sheamus had held the title for 133 days, defeating Riddle at Elimination Chamber on February 21 of this year. He has held the title three times.

Priest and Sheamus had been feuding ever since Priest won a contender’s match that took place on Raw back on July 26. For the next month, Priest feuded with both Sheamus and the team of John Morrison and The Miz. On the August 2 edition of Raw, Priest and Ricochet teamed together to defeat Morrison and Sheamus.

United States title match set for WWE SummerSlam

A United States title match is the latest addition to the card for SummerSlam.

Sheamus will defend his United States Championship against Damian Priest at SummerSlam on Saturday, August 21. The match was announced after Sheamus accepted a challenge from Priest on tonight’s episode of Raw.

Priest was set up as the next challenger for the United States Championship when he defeated Sheamus in a non-title match on Raw two weeks ago.

Sheamus and Priest both picked up wins on tonight’s Raw. Sheamus defeated Ricochet in a non-title match, while Priest defeated John Morrison. Priest then challenged Sheamus to face him at SummerSlam. Sheamus accepted and vowed to put Priest in his place.

Sheamus has been United States Champion since winning the title from Riddle at WrestleMania 37 this April.

SummerSlam is taking place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Here’s the updated card for the pay-per-view:

  • Universal Champion Roman Reigns defends against John Cena
  • WWE Champion Bobby Lashley defends against Goldberg
  • SmackDown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair defends against Sasha Banks
  • Raw Women’s Champion Nikki A.S.H. defends against Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley in a triple threat match
  • Edge vs. Seth Rollins
  • SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos defend against Rey & Dominik Mysterio
  • United States Champion Sheamus defends against Damian Priest

Damian Priest wins US title contenders match on WWE Raw

Damian Priest defeated Sheamus in what was billed as a championship contender’s match during tonight’s Raw.

Priest defeated WWE United States champion Sheamus in a non-title match after pinning him following his hit the lights finish. After the match, Sheamus complained that he had re-broken his nose, as the mask that he has been wearing to protect his nose fell during the course of the match.

Priest has crossed paths with Sheamus in recent weeks, helping Humberto Carrillo after Sheamus jumped Carrillo prior to a match earlier this month. He then watched backstage last week as Sheamus defeated Carrillo quickly in a match where Carrillo would have earned a mach against Sheamus for the title if he had won.

In a promo tonight prior to the match, Priest said Sheamus didn’t deserve to be champion, saying he made excuses all the time and attacked people from behind. He eventually called Sheamus a bully.

Humberto Carrillo okay after WWE Raw match stopped early

A match between Sheamus and Humberto Carrillo on Monday’s WWE Raw ended prematurely after Carrillo appeared to suffer an injury.

The match ended after a spot where Carrillo went for a sunset flip bomb on Sheamus off the apron. Upon landing on the floor, Carrillo did not move. After a few seconds, the referee checked on Carrillo, who indicated he was injured. The referee then waved off the match, awarding the victory to Sheamus.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Carrillo is ok and could wrestle Tuesday if he had to. They may do an injury angle based on the bump, but the fall wasn’t part of a storyline.

Carrillo has appeared on Raw in recent weeks, wanting to challenge Sheamus for the United States title after Sheamus flirted with the idea of reviving John Cena’s open challenge back when he was U.S. Champion. Sheamus responded by attacking Carrillo and laying him out several weeks in a row. Carrillo responded last week by interrupting a match between the debuting Mansoor and Sheamus. That resulted in Sheamus laying out both men.

Mansoor joins WWE Raw roster, faces Sheamus

Mansoor is now a part of the Raw brand.

On tonight’s episode of Raw, Mansoor made his debut, signing a Raw contract backstage with WWE official Adam Pearce. Sheamus then arrived, mentioning that Mansoor could accept his open challenge for later tonight. Mansoor did accept the challenge, but lost to Sheamus by DQ after Humberto Carrillo ran in and attacked Sheamus, retaliation for earlier when Sheamus attacked Carrillo backstage. The segment ended with Sheamus laying out both Carrillo and Mansoor with Brogue kicks.

Mansoor had attained 49 straight consecutive wins, dating back from his time in NXT to wrestling in Saudi Arabia, and most recently wrestling on 205 Live and Main Event. With tonight’s loss, his streak ends.

Signing with the WWE in 2018, Mansoor has been featured in several of WWE’s shows in Saudi Arabia. At Super Showdown in 2019, he last eliminated Elias to win a 51-man battle royal. At Crown Jewel later that year, he defeated Cesaro in a singles match.

Sheamus wins United States title at WWE WrestleMania 37

Sheamus defeated Riddle to win the WWE United States title tonight during the second night of WrestleMania 37.

The finish of the match had Riddle springboarding off the ropes for a moonsault, giving Sheamus the opportunity to kick Riddle square in the face with the Brouge Kick, pinning him to win the United States title for a third time. Riddle’s mouth was busted open following the finish.

This ends Riddle’s first run with the championship. He defeated Bobby Lashley and John Morrison in a triple threat match to win the title back at Elimination Chamber on February 21.

The feud between Sheamus and Riddle started last month, when Sheamus destroyed Riddle’s scooter. The two had a match on the March 29 edition of Raw, with Sheamus defeating Riddle. A championship match was then announced for WrestleMania.

Sheamus first won the United States title in 2011, defeating Daniel Bryan on March 14 of that year. He also held it in 2014, defeating Dean Ambrose.

United States title match added to WWE WrestleMania 37

A United States Championship match is the latest addition to the lineup for WrestleMania 37.

Riddle will defend his United States Championship against Sheamus at WrestleMania 37 night two on Sunday, April 11. That was announced after Sheamus defeated Riddle in a non-title match on Raw tonight.

At the end of their match on tonight’s Raw, Sheamus pinned Riddle after hitting a knee strike. Sheamus charged at Riddle and knocked him into a production crate backstage before the match began.

Riddle got some payback on Sheamus by knocking him out of the ring as Sheamus was celebrating after their match tonight.

Last week, there was a segment where Sheamus was being interviewed backstage but was interrupted by Riddle. After being asked multiple questions by Riddle, Sheamus acted like he was interested in riding Riddle’s scooter. Riddle went to let Sheamus ride the scooter, but Sheamus instead attacked him with it.

WrestleMania 37 is taking place at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida on Saturday, April 10 and Sunday, April 11. Here are the updated cards for the event:

Riddle vs. Sheamus non-title match set for WWE Raw

United States Champion Riddle is set for non-title action on Monday’s episode of Raw.

WWE has announced that a non-title match between Riddle and Sheamus will take place on Monday’s Raw. The show is the second-to-last episode of Raw before WrestleMania 37.

Sheamus lost a no holds barred match against Drew McIntyre at Sunday’s Fastlane pay-per-view. On Raw the next night, Sheamus lost a non-title match to WWE Champion Bobby Lashley. There was then a segment later in the show where Sheamus was being interviewed backstage. The interview was interrupted by Riddle riding up on his scooter and asking Sheamus multiple questions.

Riddle asked Sheamus if he’s ever seen the Loch Ness Monster, if McIntyre has ever been to Sheamus’ house in Ireland, if leprechauns are real, and what Sheamus would wish for if he had a wish. Sheamus told Riddle to stop and asked what he was doing. Sheamus then acted like he was interested in riding Riddle’s scooter. But instead of riding the scooter, Sheamus attacked Riddle with it.

For Monday’s Raw, WWE is teasing whether or not anyone will be looking to cash in on the bounty that Lashley has put on McIntyre. Lashley has said that if someone can take out McIntyre before WrestleMania, he’ll give them a WWE Championship shot. Lashley defending his WWE Championship against McIntyre is set for WrestleMania 37 night one on Saturday, April 10.

Monday’s Raw will also feature a contract signing for Asuka and Rhea Ripley’s Raw Women’s Championship match that’s taking place at WrestleMania 37 night two on Sunday, April 11. Plus, there will be a Dirt Sheet segment where The Miz and John Morrison’s “Hey Hey, Hop Hop” music video will premiere. Miz vs. Bad Bunny has been announced for WrestleMania 37 night one.

No holds barred stipulation added to WWE Fastlane match

A stipulation has been added to Drew McIntyre and Sheamus’ match at Fastlane.

WWE has announced that McIntyre vs. Sheamus at Fastlane will now be a no holds barred match. McIntyre vs. Sheamus had been made official for Fastlane earlier this week, but the no holds barred stipulation wasn’t announced until now.

Fastlane is airing live on Peacock and the WWE Network this Sunday.

McIntyre and Sheamus faced off in a no disqualification match on Raw last week, but the match ended in a no contest when they were both laid out after charging at each other while wielding steel steps. That no DQ match was made after Sheamus attacked McIntyre during a backstage interview earlier in the night. McIntyre had defeated Sheamus on Raw the previous week.

McIntyre challenging for Bobby Lashley’s WWE Championship is set for WrestleMania 37. Lashley defeated Sheamus on Raw this week but was dropped by a Claymore from McIntyre after the match. McIntyre and Sheamus had a staredown to close the episode.

Here’s the updated card for Fastlane:

  • Universal Champion Roman Reigns defends against Daniel Bryan (Edge will be the special guest enforcer for the match)
  • No holds barred match: Drew McIntyre vs. Sheamus
  • Women’s Tag Team Champions Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler defend against SmackDown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks & Bianca Belair
  • Intercontinental Champion Big E defends against Apollo Crews
  • United States Champion Riddle defends against Mustafa Ali
  • Braun Strowman vs. Shane McMahon
  • Alexa Bliss vs. Randy Orton
  • Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Seth Rollins

Drew McIntyre vs. Sheamus added to WWE Fastlane

Before he challenges for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 37, Drew McIntyre will be in action at Fastlane.

WWE has announced that McIntyre vs. Sheamus will take place at this Sunday’s Fastlane pay-per-view. The show is airing live on Peacock and the WWE Network.

Sheamus turned against McIntyre last month and wanted a one-on-one match for the WWE Championship, but an Elimination Chamber match for the title was instead announced. Sheamus pinned McIntyre to win a gauntlet match leading into the PPV. McIntyre retained the WWE Championship in the Elimination Chamber match but was then attacked by Bobby Lashley. The Miz then cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase to win the WWE Championship from McIntyre. On Raw two weeks ago, Lashley defeated Miz in a lumberjack match for the title.

Also on Raw two weeks ago, McIntyre made his first appearance since Elimination Chamber. He defeated Sheamus in a one-on-one match. McIntyre was attacked by Sheamus during a backstage segment last week, which led to them facing each other in a no disqualification match later in the night. The match ended in a no contest after McIntyre and Sheamus both charged at each other while wielding steel steps.

It was confirmed on Raw tonight that Lashley will defend his WWE Championship against McIntyre at WrestleMania 37.

Here’s the updated card for Fastlane:

  • Universal Champion Roman Reigns defends against Daniel Bryan (Edge and Jey Uso are facing each other on SmackDown this Friday to determine the special guest enforcer for the match)
  • Drew McIntyre vs. Sheamus
  • Women’s Tag Team Champions Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler defend against SmackDown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks & Bianca Belair
  • Intercontinental Champion Big E defends against Apollo Crews

A gauntlet match on last night’s Raw set the stage for Sunday’s Elimination Chamber pay-per-view.

Drew McIntyre will defend his WWE Championship against Sheamus, Randy Orton, AJ Styles, Jeff Hardy, and Kofi Kingston inside the Elimination Chamber on Sunday. Last night, all six of those wrestlers faced off in a gauntlet match to determine who will enter the Chamber last. Sheamus pinned McIntyre at the end of the gauntlet to get the win.

Sheamus entered the gauntlet match by attacking McIntyre from behind. Orton had been counted out before that, with Alexa Bliss continuing to play mind games with him. Bliss also said on last night’s show that “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt will be reborn in the future.

Money in the Bank briefcase holder The Miz was originally announced for the Elimination Chamber, but he announced last night that he was removing himself from the match. Miz wanted John Morrison to replace him, but Kingston defeated Miz last night and was added to the match in Miz’s place.

Lacey Evans was set to challenge for Asuka’s Raw Women’s Championship on Sunday, but that match will no longer be happening due to Evans being pregnant.

It was also said last night that Keith Lee’s status for Sunday’s United States Championship match is uncertain. Bobby Lashley defending his United States Championship against Lee and Riddle in a triple threat match has been announced for Elimination Chamber. Lee defeated Riddle last week, but Lashley attacked them both after the match.

Sheamus to enter WWE title Elimination Chamber match last

Sheamus won a gauntlet match on tonight’s episode of Raw, giving him the opportunity to enter the Elimination Chamber match last on Sunday.

The final two in the gauntlet match were Drew McIntyre and Sheamus, who entered the gauntlet last. He attacked McIntyre from behind, putting McIntyre at a disadvantage. After the referee asked McIntyre if he wanted to continue, the match started. Despite the attack, it was a competitive match, with Sheamus winning with the brogue kick after McIntyre missed the claymore kick.

AJ Styles and Kofi Kingston started the match off. Kingston qualified to enter the Elimination Chamber match earlier on Raw by pinning The Miz, who took himself out of the Chamber match. Styles pinned Kingston, which led to Drew McIntyre pinning Styles. From there, McIntyre pinned Jeff Hardy. Randy Orton entered next, but was counted out quickly after Alexa Bliss appeared on the video screen, taunting Orton.

The Elimination Chamber pay-per-view takes place this Sunday on the WWE Network.

Gauntlet match, Miz TV with Drew McIntyre announced for WWE Raw

A gauntlet match and Miz TV with Drew McIntyre has been announced for Raw.

The gauntlet match will consist of those competing in the Raw Elimination Chamber match taking place at the pay-per-view on February 21. Drew McIntyre, AJ Styles, Jeff Hardy, Randy Orton, Sheamus, and The Miz will all compete in the gauntlet. The winner of the match will be able to enter the Elimination Chamber last.

Also announced for Raw is a new episode of Miz TV. Miz will interview Drew McIntyre after Sheamus laid out McIntyre with a brogue kick back on the February 1 edition of Raw, effectively ending their friendship.

Shemus got involved in the finish of this week’s Raw main event, looking for a brogue kick on Drew McIntyre. However, Sheamus instead hit Orton with the kick, causing Orton to win the match by DQ. McIntyre responded to Sheamus’ attack by nailing him with the Claymore kick.
