After the Technical difficulties and with two ROH Women’s World TV Title Tournament Quarterfinal Matches and an Orange Cassidy bout on the card, ROH TV wasted no time whatsoever in getting right to the action.

Billie Starkz defeated Diamante – ROH Women’s World TV Title Tournament Quarterfinal

This tournament really gained some steam in the last couple of weeks, and this match continued that trend. Both women exchanged quick rolling pin attempts off the top, setting a fast pace for the match. This resulted in a vicious knee to the face from Diamante on a prone Starkz in the corner. That slowed things down as the action moved out of the ring.

Starkz was the clear crowd favorite as she found herself hung up on the ropes. Diamante’s experience was a factor as she slowed the match down to her pace, leaving Starkz struggling to get some momentum. Everything Starkz threw at her, Diamante had an answer for.

Starkz tried to overpower the smaller Diamante, but even that was met with a clubbing forearm that had Starkz seeing starz. Powering back though, Starkz executed three straight dives between the ropes onto Diamante on the outside. Starks hit a nasty back breaker, but it only got her a two count.

After a one-sided beatdown, Diamante finally made a mistake, and gave Starkz an opening to land a lariat right into Diamante’s face. The match devolved into a forearm strike battle until Starks locked in a half-nelson crossface on Diamante and she was forced to tap out, sending Starkz to the Semifinals.

Lee Johnson defeated Aaron Solo

Johnson entered second and got a big pop from his hometown Atlanta crowd. Johnson was on a six-match win streak and the crowd was begging for seven.

Solo and Johnson were pretty evenly matched in terms of size and speed. Both men favored a quick, high-flying style and this match would come down to who made the first mistake. Solo mugged for the crowd, which was confusing for just about everyone, but especially Johnson who waited patiently in the ring.

Eventually, the two decided to have a wrestling match and Johnson took control. The two went back and forth until Johnson was thrown under the bottom rope, but seemed to catch his throat on the rope. After a check by the Ref, Solo jumped in to take advantage of his prone opponent. Johnson wasn’t going down easily though, and through gasps he managed to fight back.

Solo tried to put Johnson down, but he battled back, returning the favor to Solo by tossing him face-first into the ropes. Johnson went for a pin, but chose a blue thunder bomb to get the job done, a move that has resulted in virtually zero three counts since its inception. Solo tried a double stomp off the top rope, but Johnson kicked out at two. He slammed Solo to the mat via the head and got the pin for his seventh straight win on the road to… eight wins.

-Later Johnson cut a promo with Lexi Nair, declaring that this was now “The Shotty Show.”

Kiera Hogan defeated Robyn Renegade, Lady Frost and Leyla Hirsch – Four Corners Survival Match

The first of two four corner survival matches on the show began with multiple Codes of Honor, followed by multiple Punches of Faces. Renegade towered over the other three competitors, so they did the natural thing and teamed up to drive her to the outside. Hirsch, Hogan and Frost all battled as Renegade clutched her shoulder by the ring apron.

After letting her opponents wear each other down, Renegade re-entered the match and knocked Hogan and Hirsch away to focus on Frost. This got her the first nearfall, but Hirsch broke up the pin. Hirsch locked a sleeper on Renegade who fell to her knees and broke the hold with an eye poke. Hogan began kicking anything that moved and went for a pin that was broken up by Frost.

The Four women regrouped and threw punches at each other until Frost and Renegade emerged as the center of attention. Frost put Renegade to the side and took out Hogan and HIrsch with a monster slam in the corner. Taking control, Hogan hit Face The Music on Renegade and pinned her for the 1-2-3.

ROH Women’s World Champion Athena defeated Aisha

This match was non-title, but if Aisha could last 10 minutes or pin the champion, she would earn a title shot.

Not even Aisha thought that this would happen, especially as Athena absolutely manhandled her off the top. The only offense Aisha was able to get in was a reverse full nelson hold before Athena fought back and brutally baseball slide kicked Aisha out of the ring.

Athena threw Aisha into various barricades at ringside before tossing her back in the ring. Athena cruelly stomped Aisha’s head into the ring apron and then landed a superkick and series of elbows. Finally, an abdominal stretch submission was applied and Aisha tapped out.

– After the match, Athena threw Aisha into the stairs and followed it up with a two devastating knees to her head, knocking Aisha cold. Athen grabbed a mic and put everyone on notice: She is disappointed in the terrible competition Atlanta provided her. She ran down Atlanta declaring that they aren’t fit to “wipe her ass.” Athena told the crowd that she is bored. She needs better competition. But who? Athena extended an invitation to anyone out there… and it was answered by none other than Hiraku Shida.

Carrying a Kendo stick to the ring, Shida issued a challenge for the ROH Women’s Title at Supercard of Honor. Athena gleefully accepted.

Action Andretti and Top Flight (Darius Martin & Daunte Martin) defeated The Iron Savages (Boulder and Bronson) and Jack Jameson

The two trios in the ring compared special drinks and Top Flight challenged the Workhorsemen to a “Chug Off” So they drank real fast and Aubrey Edwards declared Top Flight the winner for reasons.

Eager to forget everything that just happened, a match broke out between the six men. The action was a mile a minute, but the speedy Top Flight was able to get a pin on the beefy boulder to take the W.

The Workhorsemen (JD Drake & Anthony Henry) defeated Nick Comoroto & Jacoby Watts)

More tag team action as Watts and Comoroto teamed for the first time ever.

Sadly, it showed as the pair seemed a step behind Drake and Henry off the top. Drake leveled some very loud chops onto Comoroto in the corner. Watts battled back though and managed to actually hoist the massive Drake into the air. The slam was broken up by Henry though.

Outside Watts and Henry traded jabs, while Drake and Comoroto battled in the ring. Tandem cannonballs in the corner by Drake and Henry on Comoroto got them the pin. Watts never even entered the match.

Lance Archer defeated Darian Bengston

Great to see Lance Archer, greater to see Jake the Snake in ROH. Bengston tried to go high right off the top, but was caught and disposed of easily by Archer, sending him through the ropes.

On the outside, The Snake delivered some hard right hands to a dazed Bengston before tossing him back in the ring for Archer. A quick flurry of offense from Bengston, but that only delayed the inevitable chokeslam from Archer. Archer landed a textbook Blackout and got the three over Bengston.

-Back stage, Lexi Nair tried to interview Taya Valkyrie about her and Johnny TV’s recent acquisition of The Boys from Dalton Castle. Castle interrupted though, and he and Taya Valkyrie yelled at each other, with Valkyrie declaring that Castle isn’t fit to have Boys! The two yelled and screamed at each other until security dragged Castle away.

Mercedes Martinez vs. Abadon – ROH Women’s World TV Title Tournament quarterfinal

These two approached each other gingerly, right up to the point where Abadon nailed Martinez with a big headbutt. Abadon controlled the match from that point, pummeling Martinez on the outside.

The crowd was clearly behind Abadon, chanting her name as Martinez fought back and delivered a butterfly suplex, and then another. Martinex focused on the back of Abadon, trying to keep her off her feet. Martinez, the first woman in the tournament so far to give Abadon a run for her money, locked in an armbar submission, trying to get Abadon to tap. Abadon broke the hold however, and while singing, put Martinez down for a two-count.

Martinex returned to her suplexes, trying to put Abadon down fast. It wasn’t working though, so she switched to a crab-style leg submission. Abadon made it to the ropes to break the hold.

Abadon went for a DDT on the ring apron (the hardest part of the ring), but Martinez blocked it and delivered a massive knee to the face. Using the ring apron for leverage, Martinez drove Abadon’s head into the floor in a modified DDT of her own.

Abadon lost her mind for a minute and actually bit the arm of Martinez. The Ref didn’t seem bothered by this, and a screaming Abadon continued beating on Martinez. Just as she was about to land a irish whip, someone on the outside hit Abadon in the kidneys. This stunned her and Martinez got the pin and the upset, and will move on to face Billie Starkz in the Semifinals.

-The hooded figure who struck Abadon walked up the ramp with Martinez, pulling her hood off to reveal Diamante!

Komander defeated Slim J, Jack Cartwheel and AR Fox – Four Corner Survival Match

The second of two Four Corner Survival Matches of the evening kicked off much like the first, but instead of face punches, there were cartwheels. Slim J flipped off his opponents and then slid out of the ring. AR Fox responded by jumping over the top rope onto him.

Cartwheel and Komander remained in the ring with Cartwheel taking the early advantage. Fox made it back into the ring first, attempting a pin on Cartwheel. J tried to sneak up on Fox, and took advantage of the No DQ aspect of the match to deliver a low blow to Fox and send him to the outside.

J turned his attention to Cartwheel, taking away Cartwheel’s arsenal by keeping him off his feet. J climbed to the top rope and ate a cutter from Fox for his trouble. Komander broke up a pin attempt on Cartwheel, and Fox and Komander took center stage in the ring.

The action was very fast in this match, much to the delight of the audience. Bodies flew everywhere as Komander hoisted fox up for a Torture Rack of all things. Cartwheel broke up the ensuing pin and all four men managed to be in the ring at the same time. After sending Komander and Cartwheel to the outside, J hit a reverse DDT on Fox and almost got the victory.

J went for a dive through the ropes but managed to catch his feet on the bottom one and hurt pretty much only himself. Cartwheel and Komander cartwheeled around the outside before Komander twisted it into a Mexican Destroyer.

Komander climbed to the top rope a nailed a moonsault from the top rope onto J to take the win.

– ROH World Champion Eddie Kingston cut a surprise promo about Mark Briscoe not getting a title shot in ROH that he was due. Kingston said that Briscoe and he will put on a show about the magic of prowrestling in the birthplace of ROH, Philadelphia. The match was made official: At Supercard of Honor, Eddie Kingston will defend the ROH World Title against Mark Briscoe.

Orange Cassidy & Trent Beretta defeated Griff Garrision and Cole Carter w/ Maria

-Earlier in the show, Carter and Garrision, Mama Maria’s baby boys, cut a passionate promo about how they want to win tonight to impress Maria. Maria herself slid into the promo, still holding Serpentico’s stolen green mask. She blamed her boys for losing a match on Collision that’s kept them on the sidelines. She told the boys she wants to be proud of them and they headed off.

The main event began with Cassidy facing off against Carter. Cassidy’s slow and deliberate yet fast and exciting style was confusing for the younger Carter as the two traded holds and throws.

Beretta tagged in and went for a pin, but Carter kicked out and tagged in Garrison. Cassidy rejoined the match and he and Beretta double teamed Carter while Maria shrieked on the outside.

Maria climbed the ropes, causing a distraction so that Garrision could get a hard shot in on Cassidy. It was Maria’s Baby Boys turn to double team as Cassidy took shots from both Cart and Garrison. Carter cut Cassidy off from his corner and continued working him over with Garrison.

Cassidy finally squirmed to his partner to give a hot tag to Beretta, who lept in and cleaned house, knocking both Garrison and Carter off their feet. A series of suplexes from Beretta on Carter left the younger man writhing.

Maria got involved again, allowing Carter to rebound and drop Beretta on the ring apron head first. The fight moved back into the ring as Beretta started receiving the double team from Carter and Garrison. Garrison hit a flapjack slam and went for the cover, but it was broken up by Cassidy.

Beretta was isolated as Carter went for a 450. Beretta moved out of the way though, and Carter slammed right into the mat. Beretta returned the hot tag, and Cassidy double kicked both opponents. Cassidy tried an Orange Punch but Garrison dodged. Cassidy pulled off his elbow pad for a second Orange Punch, but this time Maria caused a distraction letting Carter stun Cassidy.

Beretta and Carter were in the ring as Cassidy and Garrison recovered outside. Maria tried to distract with a hug request, but all it did was allow Cassidy to finally land an Orange Punch and win the match for his team.

-After the match Anjelico and Serpentico hit the ring. They wanted to retrieve the mask that Maria has been holding hostage and ate a couple of low blows for their trouble. Garrison and Carter started to work them over, but Cassidy and Beretta returned to run off Maria and her Boys. Everyone danced and hugged as a very bizarre episode of ROH TV came to an end.

The tournament to crown an ROH World Women’s TV Champion continues on HonorClub tonight.

Leyla Hirsch vs. Red Velvet is scheduled to air on this week’s episode. The winner will face Queen Aminata in the semifinals. Aminata defeated Taya Valkyrie in the quarterfinals on last Thursday’s show.

Also announced for the show is a four-corner survival tag team match with The Infantry vs. The Workhorsemen vs. Angelico & Serpentico vs. Gringo Loco & Jack Cartwheel.

Matches for this week’s show were taped on February 24, 2024, at the Great Southern Bank Arena in Springfield, Missouri. Spoilers from the show are available here

Ring of Honor TV announced lineup for March 7, 2024 —

  • ROH Women’s World TV Championship Tournament Quarterfinal: Leyla Hirsch vs. Red Velvet
  • Jack Cartwheel & Gringo Loco vs. The Workhorsemen (JD Drake & Anthony Henry) vs. The Infantry (Carlie Bravo & Shawn Dean) vs. Angelico & Serpentico in a four-corners survival match
  • Abadon vs. TBA

The show began with a rundown of the announced and unannounced matches for the night before kicking right into the opening contest.

ROH Women’s World TV Championship Tournament Quarterfinal: Red Velvet defeated Leyla Hirsch

Hirsch entered first, having beaten her best friend Rachael Ellering in the opening round of the tournament. Both Hirsch and Velvet were at one point front runners to win the tournament, so this match had a big fight feel to it.

Hirsch’s grappling skills were on display early in the contest, while Velvet did everything she could to create some separation. Every move from Hirsch felt deliberate and calculated as she delivered some hard suplexes to Velvet. The match deteriorated into a flat-out brawl, with each woman getting some hard shots in on their opponent.

Velvet’s four-match winning streak was close to ending as Hirsch attempted the first near-fall. Hirsch dragged Velvet to the top rope in a choke, using the leverage in a way that looked really painful. Velvet battled back though, and tried a pinning attempt of her own. Hirsch kicked out at two.

After a well-placed superkick on Hirsch, Velvet climbed to the top rope but Hirsch leapt up to grab Velvet in a superplex from the top rope, which laid both competitors out. They staggered to their feet, but Velvet was quickly returned to the ground by a hard lariat from Hirsch.

Hirsch climbed to the top rope and landed a picture perfect moonsault on Velvet, but was only able to get a two-count. The women exchanged two counts in several pinning combinations, until Velvet locked in a hold and pinned Hirsch. It was very abrupt, but Velvet advances to the semifinals none the less.

-Backstage, The Infantry showed off some brand new merch. Shirts, sunglasses and of course, the money were the topics of discussion. After some posing and showing off, they told us all to have no fear, because the all mighty Infantry is here.

Abadon defeated Judy Azul

The match began with Azul being creeped out and overpowered by Abadon. Wasting no time, Abadon laid Azul out with a devastating knee in the corner. Azul showed some smart offense and delivered a bulldog to Abadon.

Mercedes Martinez appeared at the top of the ramp, scouting Abadon for their Women’s World TV Title Tournament Quarterfinal match next week.

Abadon responded by creeping out and overpowering Azul for a quick three count. Martinez and Abadon stared each other down.

Lee Johnson defeated Jon Cruz

Johnson’s star keeps rising with a string of wins in ROH. He faced a pretty equitable challenge in Cruz, but Cruz tried to get the upper hand and attacked him before the bell.

Johnson fought back and went right for a full nelson slam, but Cruz squirmed away, right out of the ring, in fact. After some mugging with the crowd, Cruz jumped back in to beat the count. Johnson took control, tired of the goofing around. Johnson quickened the pace to maintain control but Cruz hung him up on the ropes.

Much of Cruz’ offense in this match was rooted in insulting and mocking Johnson. But mind games were met with hard body shots as Johnson maintained control of the match. Johnson laid out Cruz with a blue thunder bomb, but it only got a two-count. Johnson was making no mistakes and fired up to get a pin with a solid side slam, bringing his win streak to six in a row.

Nyla Rose defeated Airica Demia

Fresh off her loss to Athena last week in a brutal tables match, Rose was fired up looking to take other frustrations on Demia. Rose implemented the rarely seen “kick you in the knee” version of the Code of Honor, and went to work on a staggering Demia.

Demia’s superhero-style tights gave her absolutely no advantage as Rose ragdolled her from post to post. Mercifully, before it got too hard to watch, Rose hit the Beast Bomb and it was over.

The Infantry (Carlie Bravo & Shawn Dean) defeated Jack Cartwheel & Gringo Loco, The Workhorsemen (JD Drake & Anthony Henry) and Angelico & Serpentico in a four-corners survival match

-Earlier in the show, Maria was found backstage by Anjelico and Serpentico (who was still in his black mask). They challenged Maria’s boys to a match but she said they were off tonight and they don’t fight losers. She pointed out that they haven’t won anything in a while, so give her a call when they do. Maria then taunted Serpentico with his stolen mask and left.

That earlier interaction was clearly on the mind of Angelico as he and Serpentico seemed to have the most on the line as the match began.

As to be expected in a four corners tag match, the tags in and out were fast and furious. Each pairing was executing a maximum of two moves before tagging, or being tagged out. This made the match feel fast and the crowd loved it, but it made it hard to follow at times.

After a double team on the Workhorses by the infantry, everyone jumped into the ring for a brawl. The Referee was able to get control and several of the participants headed to the outside. In the ring though, the Workhorses repeatedly double teamed Cartwheel. The rest of the match participants literally sat on the floor and watched.

Eventually things seemed to pick up and all four teams had at least one member in their corner. It didn’t contain the chaos though, as wrestlers were hopping in and out a back braking speed, making it hard for anyone to know who was the legal man.

Cartwheel and Serpentico had a fantastic exchange of moves that led to a near-fall, but that was the closest we found ourselves to order as everyone disappeared again. Somehow, The infantry wound up in the ring, but were pulled back out by Angelico and Serpentico.

Everyone disappeared again, and Loco and Dean found themselves in the ring. Loco ate a big boot from Bravo, and Dean laid him out for the win. The match was chaotic and wild, but highly entertaining.

-After the match, Maria came out to taunt Serpentico with his missing mask one more time.

*********

Taya Valkyrie defeated Sussy Love in a ROH Women’s TV Title tournament first round match

Valkyrie had the definite size and power advantage and her personality shone strong as she tossed Love around ring. This match was a departure from the previous TV Title tournament matches in that it had much more of a feeling of urgency to it. In spite of that though, this was all Valkyrie, who at one point laughed out loud at Love’s offense. Love did show some heart though, kicking out of a few nearfalls. However, this match was Valkyrie’s to lose, and she got the pin to advance in the tournament against Queen Aminata.

Valkyrie cut a promo later in the show with Johnny TV at her side, asking for some real competition as the two TV ready stars headed off.

Lee Johnson defeated Sonico

Johnson got a spotlight match here against the debuting luchador, Sonico. Sonico heeled it up big time, refusing a Code of Honor handshake and kicking away Johnson’s hand. Johnson was the more athletic of the two, and his speed was hard for Sonico to match. The two traded strikes and near falls with Sonico coming out on top. Johnson won the crowd over a bit and they began clapping and chanting for him to break a hold from Sonico. A neckbreaker and HBK-style kip-up give Johnson some momentum and he caught Sonico off the ropes with a really hard elbow to grab the win.

Red Velvet defeated Sandra Moone in a ROH Women’s TV Title tournament first round match

The 3-0 Velvet got a nice ovation on her way to the ring. Velvet’s quickness was countered by Moone’s strength, but Velvet stayed in control as the women exchanged a few holds. Velvet lined up Moone in the corner and peppered her with strikes.

Velvet flew too close to the moon (heh) however, and Moone was able to counter with a high kick to the face. Moone followed that up with a big dropkick off the top rope, but only got a 2-count. Velvet dropped into what could only be described as a very aggressive armbar and held it on Moone for a very, very long time.

Moone made a good case for herself with a massive lariat and a reverse mule kick. Velvet powered up off those and managed to land a cazadora to slow down the bigger Moone. Moone broke free and attempted to go to the top rope, but Velvet got a big kick in to grab the three.

In the next round, she takes on Leyla Hirsch.

Danhausen defeated Brandon Cutler

Danhausen made his return to ROH and was met with a strong ovation from the crowd. Danhausen and Cutler were both well dressed, making the match look something like a clash between Dracula and Tiger King.

Cutler started off with some dab-style elbows, but Danhausen was unfazed and Cutler attempted to spray paint his face. The paint wouldn’t work on Danhausen though for curse-related reasons and Cutler ended up spraying himself.

After regrouping, Cutler got Danhausen up in an airplane spin, resulting in both men staggering around, dizzy. Danhausen recovered first and the two began exchanging stiff punches. The crowd was really into the match and clearly behind Danhausen who hit a Northern Lights suplex on Cutler.

A distraction on the outside involving a jar of teeth almost let Cutler schoolboy Danhausen into a pin, but he was able to reverse and get the win in his ROH return.

Abadon defeated Viva Van in a ROH Women’s TV Title tournament first round match

The “Living Dead Girl” entered to a good response from the crowd. The two squared up pretty evenly, but Abadon took control with a headbutt. Abandon’s deliberate and strange movements had Van back on her heels and she rolled out of the ring to collect herself.

Van re-entered the match with a spinning heel kick and almost got a pin, but Abadon was easily able to reverse into a suplex. Van attempted to match the aggression of Abadon but wasn’t quite able to overcome her green-haired opponent. A tarantula on the ropes dazed Abadon and Van locked in a surfboard submission hold. Abandon broke free, but Van remained aggressive as they traded punches.

Abandon tapped into whatever dark forces drive her and screamed at Van, who whipped her into the ropes and attempted an electric chair. Abandon reversed it and delivered a big running knee and a Black Dahlia to get the win and advance in the tournament.

Mercedes Martinez is waiting for her in the next round.

Ethan Page defeated Anthony Henry

Henry had a huge opportunity here to advance his status in ROH by defeating Page. The crowd thought otherwise, giving Page a very warm reception.

Henry showboated a bit, flexing before an unimpressed Page who countered with a few poses of his own. Henry’s speed landed a spinning heel kick on Page and the flexing resumed. Page fought out of the corner, but Henry still had his number, working Page’s elbow, presumably making it harder for him to utilize the Ego’s Edge.

Page got fired up and turned the tables on Henry with a big slam. The strain on Page’s arm was apparent and Page went for the Ego’s Edge, but Henry was able to wiggle out of it for a tornado DDT. A “rip it back” hammerlock was applied to Page, weakening his arm even more. After fighting back, Page was able to get Henry with a cutter from his good arm and extend his win streak to six.

Later, Page was interviewed by Lexi Nair. He called out ROH TV Champion Kyle Fletcher again and talked about how there is something in the air. He begged Fletcher to stay away because when he gets back to ROH, Page’s momentum will be massive.

 – Queen Aminata cut a promo backstage about how she used to really look up to Taya Valkyrie. Now though, Valkyrie is just sleaze and riding her husband’s coattails. Next week when they face off, Aminata wants the “real” Valkyrie so she can beat her and become the first ROH Women’s TV Champion.

Billie Starkz defeated Robyn Renegade in a ROH Women’s TV Title tournament first round match

The final match in the first round of the tournament kicked off with a very mocking Code of Honor handshake from Renegade. The two locked up and traded wristlocks before settling into the corner where Starkz was on her heels. Renegade showed a lot of confidence against the young Starkz who got the first near fall off of a big kick to Renegade’s head.

In full control, Renegade talked a ton of smack as she chopped Starkz in the corner. Starkz, a favorite in the tournament, reversed and threw some chops of her own. The intensity of the match ratcheted up as Renegade dropped Starkz with a bridge suplex into a two count.

Renegade hit Starkz with a brutal codebreaker. A chin lock followed, but Starkz was able to fight her way out and deliver some high kicks. Favoring her back, Starkz began to pick up momentum, laying in some hard strikes. Renegade invited more and Starkz obliged.

Starkz went for a dive between the ropes onto Renegade on the outside, but caught her foot on the rope. Renegade caught her and drove her back into the ring apron. Renegade eventually caught Starkz up on her shoulders and delivered a devastating power bomb on the outside. Starkz beat the count and made it back into the ring, reversing a pump handle slam into a hammerlock neck vise. Renegade held on for a few seconds, but tapped, ending the match.

Starkz now moves on to face Diamante in the quarterfinal round.

Later, she cut a promo, claiming she was the “youngest and the dumbest” in the tournament, but regardless she’s going to win it all and become the Women’s TV Champion.

Komander defeated Exodus Prime, AR Fox and Matt Sydal in a four-way

This week’s four corner survival match started off with the ROH debut of Exodus Prime, who took a hard shot at Fox off the top. Fox rolled out of the ring and Sydal and Komander chased Prime out as well. Sydal and Komander traded fast moves and lock ups, bringing some energy to the match. Fox and Prime waited on the outside.

Fox snuck back in and delivered a couple of cutters before Prime was able to take him down with some hard strikes. Sydal hit a DDT and big punch on Fox and Komander simultaneously, and Prime jumped him as the other two recovered. A big elbow off the top rope from Prime got a two count on Sydal. Sydal paid him back with a jawbreaker and Fox jumped in to try and pin the dazed Prime.

Komander and Sydal ate big boots from Fox as he locked in a crab submission on Prime. Komander locked in an armbar and Sydal got a headlock on Prime as the three men tried to make Prime submit. It was broken up and Komander dragged Sydal to the ring apron where he locked in a surfboard. Fox broke it up with a dive through the ropes, and Sydal hit Komander with a meteora.

Sydal and Fox took turns laying shots into Prime in the corner, but their truce was broken up by Komander. Komander dragged Sydal to the corner and climbed to the top rope. Prime had other plans and knocked Komander off the rope. Meanwhile, Sydal got Fox in a side slam for a two count. Fox got a superplex and 450 splash on Prime, but Sydal broke up the pinning attempt.

The crowd rose to their feet and Komander planted Prime with a swinging DDT. Komander hit a running shooting star press from the top rope and got the win, pinning Prime.

ROH Women’s Champion Athena defeated Nyla Rose in a two-of-three falls tables match to retain

The main event of the night was rife with emotion as the competitors made their way to the ring. Athena and Rose both got big cheers from the crowd, who were still pretty pumped from that four-way match.

Rose started off with some big strikes and a samoan drop. Rose was not wasting any time and a table was brought out and set up at ringside. Athena laid in a dropkick, but Rose picked her up and power bombed her through it for the first fall.

Athena recovered in the ring and Rose began searching for another table to put a quick end to the match. Rose brought it into the ring, but Athena used it to drive Rose into the barricade outside. Athena wasted no time in putting a table into the ring and setting it up in the corner while Rose writhed on the outside. Inexplicably, Athena felt that this was a good time for a suicide dive through the ropes. Rose caught her and drove her into the ring apron.

Rose tossed Athena back into the ring and began stomping her. Athena fought back as best she could, but Rose slammed her and threw her into the corner for a running splash. Rose set up the table Athena had brought into the ring in the opposite corner. Rose tried to throw Athena through it, but she was able to reverse and slide out of the ring to recover.

Rose followed and Athena dropkicked her into the barricade. Athena pulled another table from under the ring and set it up before delivering another dropkick and some wild swings to Rose. Athena pulled Rose up on the ring apron and the two traded shots. It looked like Rose might get away with two straight falls, but Athena reversed it and hit a cutter on the ropes, causing Rose to fall backwards and through the table, giving each woman a fall.

The match moved into sudden death as the next fall would win. Athena set up a table in the ring and dragged Rose back in. Athena tried to pick up Rose to put her through the table, but collapsed as her knee buckled. A confident Rose put Athena on the table and climbed the ropes. Athena rolled off the table though and climbed up the ropes as well. The two grappled on the ropes, until Rose created some separation. Athena kept punching up, hoping Rose would fall onto the table in the ring. There was another table outside and both women were in danger.

Athena got underneath Rose and pulled her off the top rope, driving her through the table on the outside to get the second fall and retain her ROH Women’s Title once again.

******************

The opening package ran down the card for the evening. A couple of returns, but the main focus of this week’s show was the ROH Women’s World TV Title Tournament which kicked things off.

ROH Women’s TV Title Tournament First Round: Queen Aminata defeated J-Rod to advance

The contestants were pretty evenly matched in stature, so a lockup and trading of chops went in circles. Aminata got the first near fall, but things remained fairly even with the two women trading moves with equal offense until J-Rod went for a quick pin off of a suplex. She then tried to do push-ups on Aminata to get the pin. This was pretty insulting to Aminata, and she retaliated with some quick strikes.

The slow-moving match began to gain steam at the halfway point, the crowd rallying behind Aminata. A few quick exchanges of momentum and Aminata connected with a headbutt and got the pin to advance in the tournament.

-Later, Queen Aminata was approached backstage and congratulated on her win. She cut a promo reminding people she did not move all the way across the world to be just “average.” She is here representing the whole continent of Africa, and she’s going to be number one.

The Infantry (Shawn Dean & Carlie Bravo) defeated Midnight Heat (Ricky Gibson & Eddie Pearl)

No entrance for the Midnight Heat and the match started with Pearl facing off against Dean. The crowd seemed a lot quieter than usual as the Midnight Heat walked through a double team on Bravo. A backbreaker off the top rope on Bravo woke them up though and the match began to find its footing. Throw in a couple of near falls by each team and some urgency started rearing it’s head.

Bravo sent Gibson to the outside and got a hot tag on Dean. He put both men down and hit a leaping elbow on Gibson for a two-count. The Infantry with a couple double teams of their own, cut off the Midnight Heat from each other, giving Dean and Bravo the opening to hit Boot Camp to get the win. The crowd stayed quiet though, not a lot of excitement in this one.

ROH Women’s TV Title Tournament First Round: Leyla Hirsch defeated Rachael Ellering to advance

This match between these two friends and partners was one that people were waiting for, so the crowd was a lot more lively. Ellering and Hirsch showed a lot of respect for each other, but it was also clear that their friendship was going to be a factor as each woman was obviously well prepared for the other.

This was a much more technical match as Ellering traded on her size, and Hirsch, her mat wrestling skills. The emotion of the match was bubbling below the surface with Hirsch locking in a sleeper. After some hard strikes the “truce” between the two seemed to have been set aside and some fast strikes and rope work gave neither woman the edge, but perked up the crowd.

After trading elbows, Hirsch went to lock in a submission move on Ellering’s arm, but she screamed in pain and waived her off. The Ref got involved, and the ringside doctor popped Ellering’s apparently dislocated elbow into place.

Ellering protected the injured elbow through the rest of the match, and Hirsch got a near fall after a splash from the top rope. Ellering continued to power through the match in spite of her elbow. Ellering tried to get Hirsch to “finish it” but tricked Hirsch as she got close into a two count. Hirsch got mad at that and worked over Ellering until getting the 1-2-3 to advance. Hugs all around after the match.

-Later, a dejected Rachel Ellering cut a promo back stage about how disappointing her loss was. Hirsch arrived and apologized for injuring her elbow and ellering forgave her. The two friends said they were proud of each other and have each other’s backs through this tournament.

– Back in the show, we headed backstage and Nyla Rose started a promo but was sneak-attacked by Athena in payback for Rose jumping her last week. Despite being hit by a table, Rose lifted Athena up by the next before throwing the broken table at her.

– Later, a recovering Athena cut a promo about how Nyla Rose has been knocking her on her ass and she’s tired of it. She’s fed up with all of this, it’s her show and her title, and she’s not going to back down. Athena then challenged Rose to a tables match for the ROH Women’s Championship next week.

– After the Main Event, Nyla Rose appeared on screen and gleefully accepted the challenge.

The Outrunners (Turbo Floyd & Truth Magnum) defeated Lights Camera Faction (Ice Williams & Action Braxton)

The Outrunners started the match by giving a Code of Honor to… themselves. The two throwback wrestlers were well received by the crowd. Williams and Floyd began the match, but the ref was soon distracted, allowing Magnum to jump in for some illegal shots. The Outrunners flexed their way through the match, in complete control.

Williams got in a few shots, but Floyd grabbed his foot outside the ring, leading to Magnum throwing him down in a slam. The Outrunners continued their 80’s heel shenanigans until eventually hitting Boot Camp (The Infantry’s finisher) for some reason. This was a fun take on classic 80’s wrestling.

– Back stage Lexi Nair interviewed the aforementioned Infantry. Moriarty arrived and let them in on the fact the Outrunners stole their finisher. The Infantry tracked them down and The Outrunners claimed they had been doing that move “since the Sportatorium!” The Infantry warned them not to use it and stormed off.

Bryan Keith defeated Slice Boogie

Keith’s gunslinger outfit made an impression as he intimidated Boogie off the top. This was Boogie’s first ROH match since 2019, and he and Keith were pretty evenly matched. The fans were clearly behind Kieth, but Boogie kept pace with him until a headbutt dazed him in the corner. Keith hit an Around-The-World cutter and got a quick victory.

ROH Women’s TV Title Tournament First Round: Mercedes Martinez defeated Trish Adora to advance

The third Women’s World TV Title Tournament match started off much like the previous two; slowly. Martinez showed off her mean streak both in strikes and facial expressions. Adora remained unimpressed. Adora showed a bit more finesse than her opponent leading to the first pinning attempt.

The match began to heat up as both women traded stiff shots back and forth. Adora was sent through the ropes and Martinez found her aggression on the outside, tossing her into the ring apron. Martinez threw Adora back in the ring, and knocked her around with hard strikes into a chinlock.

Adora fought back as the match resumed its slower pace. Martinez went for some German suplexes, but Adora was able to keep her to just two and get away to a corner. Adora landed a Thez press to take control of the match until her back gave out trying to execute a carry. Martinez was able to put Adora into a crab submission hold until she tapped out.

Lance Archer & The Righteous (Vincent & Dutch) defeated Jon Cruz, JC Valentine & James Blackheart

Dutch started things off but tagged in Archer quickly to take on Blackheart. Archer and The Righteous controlled every aspect of this match. Their hard-hitting style got the crowd’s attention, but at no point were they ever in danger.

The single ray of light was Cruz, who managed to get some momentum against Vincent. However, Dutch tagged in and slammed that momentum to a halt. Archer and The Righteous hit their finishers in succession for the win and that was about it.

Dalton Castle w/The Boys defeated Kenny King

Castle was dejected as he walked to the ring with The Boys, still bummed that he didn’t get to smash Johnny TV’s face last week.

King tried to take advantage of the low mood off the top, but Castle decided to take his woes out on him with a side headlock. King moved fast, trying to use his speed to get one up on Castle, but Castle rolled out of the ring to compose himself.

Castle tried to shake off the blues by getting the crowd going. King paintbrush him and Castle’s frustration began to show. He walked to the top of the ramp and tried to catch King off guard by speeding back to the ring, but King hit him with an outside dive for his trouble.

Back in the ring, Castle got angrier and angrier as the two traded blows. Castle caught King in a Bangarang and was able to get the pin, but it did nothing to improve his mood.

-After the match Castle grabbed a mic and explained that he was exhausted and couldnt sleep knowing that Johnny TV’s face was out there needing smashing. He called out TV and lo and behold, he came out!

TV reminded us all that Castle was not TV ready, and all he did was wander around and eat cheese. Valkyrie took the mic and revealed the stipulation for the upcoming TV vs Castle clash: They want… The Boys? Yes, if TV wins, he gets The Boys. Castle was shocked (and so were The Boys) as they left ringside.

ROH Women’s TV Title Tournament First Round: Diamante defeated Kiera Hogan to advance

The main event of the night was the fourth first-round match in the ROH Women’s World TV Title Tournament.

Diamante assured Hogan that this was going to hurt her more than it would hurt Diamante. They quickly locked up and Diamante put Hogan in the corner for a shoulder to the midsection. Hoga fought back with some fast kicks, and this match quickly set itself apart from the Tournament matches of the show, both in speed and intensity.

A back elbow from Hogan stunned Diamante and Hogan hit her with a dropkick from the second rope. Hogan hit a side slam keeping the momentum in her favor. Diamante fought back though and caught Hogan in a swinging neck breaker to advance. It was a very intense match, easily the best of the night, but was strangely short, leaving the crowd a little surprised and disappointed.

Ring of Honor TV results: Undisputed Kingdom vs. Tom Lawlor & Fred Rosser

Recap by Jeff Moss for F4WOnline.com

Ring of Honor presents its weekly show on HonorClub tonight as ROH Tag Team Champions Mike Bennett & Matt Taven will be in action against “Filthy” Tom Lawlor and Fred Rosser in a Proving Ground match.

If Lawlor and Rosser can either win or draw the champions, they earn a future title shot.

This week’s episode was taped at the Brookshire Grocery Arena in Bossier City, Louisiana, on Saturday.

**********

The show opened in the bathroom where Dalton Castle threatened to throw trash at Johnny TV and Taya Valkyrie unless his mysterious friend got a match against them. Jerry Lynn then made a match between the two for next week.

Angelico & Serpentico defeated Da Russell Twins (Allen & Kameron Russell)

Serpentico was wearing a new all-black mask after having had his other one stolen by Griff Garrison, Cole Karter and Maria Kanellis recently.

Angelico started things off with one of the Russell twins, catching him in a quick wrist lock. Serpentico tagged in and tried a quick cover, followed by the other Russell tagging in. The twins began working Serpentico in the corner and a hard hip toss by Russell #1 led to a quick nearfall.

The Russells get some offense in while Angelico anxiously waited on the outside. Serpentico hit a big elbow and Angelico got a hot tag. Angelico applied a leglock submission and Russell 1 quickly gave up.

After the match, Carter, Garrison and Kanellis came to the ramp to taunt Serpentico with the mask they stole.

Nyla Rose defeated Emmy Camacho

Camacho was dwarfed by Rose as the match started. Rose ragdolled her around the ring. Camacho did not get much offense in, and Nyla won in a quick squash.

Later in the show, Rose rolled up on Lexi Nair backstage looking for ROH Women’s Champion Athena. Rose trashed Athena’s school, friends and skills before reassuring us that she is, in fact, the chaos.

The Iron Savages (Boulder & Bronson) and Jacked Jameson defeated KM, Jon Cruz & Brandon Hunter

The Savages arrived and ensured us all a trip to an interesting-sounding city. Hunter kicked things off with Jameson and nailed a pump handle slam. Bronson tagged in and military pressed Hunter who made a quick tag to KM after being dropped. Hunter tagged back in and got a clothesline from Boulder for his trouble. Cruz then tagged in and Boulder crushed him in the corner. The Iron Savages made a bunch of quick tags in order to confuse the ref and pull off a triple team. The Sauce Toss connected and the Savages took the win.

– Ethan Page gave an interview where he reiterated his promise to win the ROH TV title for his daughter, who also inspired his outfit. These promises matter to Page and he’s going to wear his current gear until he wins that title

Dalton Castle defeated Aaron Solo

Castle was brought to the ring on a catering cart, looking like he just woke up. His chest was also suspiciously unshaven. Solo started off well against the sluggish Castle, driving his head into the post as the two brawled outside. Castle reversed a whip and drove Solo into the ring. The two climbed back into the ring where Castle drove Solo into the turnbuckle. A series of spinning kicks from Solo dropped Castle who answered with a big clothesline. Momentum shifted into a Bangarang and the pin for Castle. The crowd clapped along to his theme song like they always do.

Backstage later on, Lexi Nair found Castle riding a janitor’s bucket. Castle babbled while she tried to get him to reveal who his “friend” is that will face Johnny TV next week. Castle didn’t give many clues, but did mention that his friend “doesn’t even go to this school” and is “new to wrestling.” Then he fell into a laundry cart and declared “I’m done.”

ROH Tag Team Champions The Undisputed Kingdom (Mike Bennett & Matt Taven) defeated Fred Rosser & Tom Lawlor in a Proving Ground match

Some pushing and shoving off the top between Rosser and Bennett started things off. Rosser threw Bennett in the corner and delivered some hard chops. Bennett battled back and threw his own shots on Rosser in the corner before Rosser tagged in Lawlor. Lawlor delivered a hard slam that led to a near fall. Taven tagged in and hit an Aurora Borealis, but it only led to a two count before he tagged Bennett back in.

Bennett and Lawlor traded shots into a German suplex from Bennett. There were hot tags all around as Rosser entered the fray and almost ate a double team from the champions. Rosser went for a quick pin on Taven that was broken up. Rosser and Lawlor hit double gutbusters, but could only get a near fall. Time ticked away as Lawlor and Rosser had a miscommunication and ended up hitting each other in the center of the ring.

Rosser tried to lock in a chicken wing, but caught a Boston Bayonet for his trouble. Bennett and Taven gained momentum back and hit their finisher on Rosser to get the win and dash the chances of Lawlor and Rosser getting a title shot.

Ethan Page defeated Slim J

Page entered the arena, but wasn’t happy with the reception he got so he entered again and was eventually satisfied. A hard shot from Page had J complaining to the ref, but there was no foul. A shoulder block from Page knocked J across the ring. He grabbed J in a stalling vertical suplex and slammed him to the ground. However, he bounced back and got some offense in, including some hard punches in the corner.

J hit an inverted Bulldog for a quick two count. J applied a sleeper, but Page fought back and backed him into the corner. After getting flipped by Page, J hit an enzuigiri and went to the top rope, but missed Page with a twisting dive. Page threw J high into the air and delivered a big boot, spinning J completely around.

Page’s power slam garnered a near fall, but not enough to end it. Back and forth, J managed to hit a flatliner, but only got a two count. Page fought back and nailed J with his Ego’s Edge for the win. putting him closer to that TV Title shot against Kyle Fletcher.

Billie Starkz defeated Killa Kate

Starkz looked serious early on as she refused to let the pace of the match dwindle. A quick sunset flip got her a two count. Back elbows from Kate dazed Starkz who quickly recovered and sent Kate to the corner. Kate reversed things and the two battled on the middle turnbuckle. Starkz eventually got Kate on her shoulders and delivered a modified Electric Chair for the win.

– Leyla Hirsch and Rachael Ellering cut a promo ensuring us that they are ready to go in the upcoming Women’s TV Title Tournament.

The Righteous (Vincent & Dutch) defeated The Infantry (Shawn Dean & Carlie Bravo)

Dutch started by throwing his weight around with Bravo. A quick tag to Vincent led to a one count for Bravo. Dean took over and the fast-moving match continued with multiple two counts before Bravo was tagged back in. Dutch grabbed a blind tag and tripped Bravo from the outside. Bravo peppered Dutch with jabs and Dutch threw him to the corner where Vincent slammed him into the turnbuckle. He hit a side effect on Bravo for a two count before bringing Dutch back in.

Bravo was isolated as The Righteous beat him senseless before Dutch got a near fall broken up by Dean. Bravo battled back from a neck vice by Dutch and was rewarded with a bear hug. Dutch tried to drop the leg from the second turnbuckle, but missed Bravo. Dean got the hot tag and Vincent re-entered the match. A fast DDT from Dean led to a two count. The Infantry tried for a Boot Camp, but Vincent was able to duck it. Vincent hit an Orange Sunshine on Bravo that got The Righteous the win.

Queen Aminata defeated Reiza Clarke

Aminata hit a very hard elbow off the ropes early on. Both women exchanged moves in the corners, ending in a running knee from Aminata. Both women exchanged chops and were somewhat impressed by the other’s strength. Eventually, Aminata came through with a headbutt and quick kick to gain the momentum. A hard shot from Clarke put Aminata in the corner, but Clarke got caught in a drop toehold into the bottom turnbuckle which left her vulnerable to an Aminata double stomp from the top rope that got the Queen the win.

She takes on Willow Nightingale on Friday’s AEW Rampage in search of her first AEW win.

Bad Dude Tito defeated Gringo Loco

These two beefy dudes locked up and were pretty evenly matched in the opening minutes as they exchanged Lucha-style moves off the ropes. Eventually, Tito caught Loco in the corner and threw some hard chops. A t-bone suplex from Tito followed and he controlled much of the pace.

Tito challenged Loco to give him some hard chops and no-sold his efforts. A quick STF was locked in by Tito, but Loco was able to make it to the ropes to break the hold. Loco got Tito up on his shoulders and delivered an electric chair bomb. Loco climbed to the top rope and hit a moonsault onto Tito on the outside. Tito got back to his feet and dove through the ropes onto Loco.

The two rolled back into the ring and Tito climbed to the second rope. Loco joined him and the men exchanged blows. Loco hit a crazy top rope Spanish Fly, but it only resulted in a two-count. Tito responded with a blue thunder bomb and a two count of his own. Tito caught Loco on a jump from the second rope and hit his finisher for his first-ever ROH win.

Red Velvet defeated Kiera Hogan, Diamante and Trish Adora in a four-way

Earlier, Velvet said she’s feeling great and predicted that all eyes will be on her in the Women’s TV Title Tournament. The chef is always cooking.

Adora started off with a double clothesline to Hogan and Velvet as Diamante looked on. Diamante bounced back and forth between Hogan and Adora in opposite corners. Velvet went for a cover, but it was broken up by Adora. Adora hit a German suplex on Velvet, but only got a two count. Hogan then had her pin on Adora broken up by Velvet. A Russian leg sweep by Diamante on Adora led to another two count.

Hogan gained control and rained strikes on the other women. A dive through the ropes to the outside by Hogan took out Diamante. Adora caught Hogan off the top rope into a running power slam. A huge lariat from Adora took out Diamante, opening things up for Hogan to hit Adora with a knee. Velvet then tossed Hogan out of the ring and pinned Adora for the win.

This was the fastest paced match of the night and the crowd loved it.

Lee Johnson defeated Blake Christian, Alex Zayne and Jack Cartwheel in a Four Corner Survival match

Cartwheel started the match with, well, a cartwheel. The crowd and his opponents demanded another and Christian nailed him in the middle of it. Each man grabbed some offense until Johnson hit a neckbreaker on Cartwheel. Christian used Johnson as a weapon and knocked Zayne into the corner. Zayne hit a ripcord hurricanrana into a german suplex on Zayne and Cartwheel.

Johnson reversed Cartwheel into a thunder bomb and Zayne grabbed Johnson into a sidewalk slam. Christian then tied Zayne up in a Texas Cloverleaf in the turnbuckles, following that up with a splash onto Johnson for a two-count. Cartwheel grabbed Christian and found himself the victim of a cazadora frog splash. Christian tossed Johnson to the outside and dove onto him through the ropes. Cartwheel climbed to the top rope, but Zayne intercepted and Christian grabbed him for a C4 off the apron.

Cartwheel springboard flipped over the top rope onto Zayne and Johnson. Off the top rope, Cartwheel missed a move on Johnson who grabbed Cartwheel into a pinning predicatment for the win.
