WWE NXT UK results: Heritage Cup Champion Noam Dar vs. Mark Coffey

This week’s NXT UK was taped at BT Sports Studios in London, England.

Oliver Carter defeated Teoman (w/ Rohan Raja & Charlie Dempsey) (7:25)

Teoman was in control early and beat down Carter, who had glimpses of hope here and there. Carter eventually came back with a springboard moonsault off the middle rope and then hit a number of running forearms and an axe kick.

Teoman hit a diving forearm for a near fall and went for the Evil Eye, but Carter countered out of it. Raja distracted the referee to allow Dempsey to interfere, but Carter dodged the attack and hit a soccer kick to Dempsey’s face.

Carter then hit a top rope dropkick and a spinning heel kick into the corner on Teoman and pinned him for the win.

Immediately afterward, Die Familie attacked Carter and Teoman hit the Evil Eye.

– Sam Gradwell was asked about Trent Seven in the UK Performance Center when suddenly Seven flew into the frame and beat Gradwell down. He then got kicked out.

– Fallon Henley got asked about her time in the UK. Isla Dawn walked up and was creepy, but Henley was having none of it

– Dave Mastiff congratulated Josh Morrell on his win last week, but told him he’d have to face “The Bomber” next week

– Wolfgang was asked about Ilja Dragunov’s comments about him last week. He said he would take the NXT UK title from Dragunov.

Amale beat Stevie Turner (4:16)

Blair Davenport was on commentary.

Amale hit a jumping neckbreaker early on, but got flattened with an axe kick. Turner hit a running boot into Amale’s head as she was in the ropes and scored a near fall off the attack.

Amale came back with a bulldog for a near fall of her own and followed up with a running kick into the corner. Amale then hit the Hopebreaker for the pinfall victory.

Davenport mockingly clapped at the commentary booth.

– A referee approached Noam Dar and Sha Samuels backstage and banned Samuels from ringside for tonight’s match.

– in a clip from after last week’s show, Sarray and Meiko Satomura came backstage and were greeted by Emilia McKenzie. They talked in Japanese and Sarray thanked Satomura for teaming with her, but said she also wanted to face her next. The NXT UK Women’s Champion accepted and McKenzie didn’t look happy. Nina Samuels then approached McKenzie for comment, but was blown off.

– Mark Andrews and Wild Boar talked about wanting to bring the NXT UK Tag Team titles home and want to face Briggs & Jensen.

– Sid Scala announced that in two weeks, there would be a title match between Ilja Dragunov and Wolfgang. Next week, Fallon Henley faces Isla Dawn, and Trent Seven faces Sam Gradwell.

Mark Coffey beat Noam Dar in round six to win the NXT UK Heritage Cup (16:35)

Round 1:

Coffey got a wrist lock early, but Dar escaped to the ropes, forcing a break. They mostly evaded each other’s offense for most of the round. Coffey hit Dar just after the bell after ducking an attack from Dar first.

Round 2:

Dar went for the Nova Roller, but Coffey ducked and locked in the Gator Lock. Dar quickly tapped just seconds into the round. 1-0 Coffey

Round 3:

Coffey went for pinfall attempts right away, then hit a bulldog for a two count. Dar got the upper hand with some kicks to the legs and body. Dar took out Coffey’s leg and went for the Nova Roller just as the round ended. He went to hit it anyway, but the referee stopped him.

Round 4:

Dar locked in the Champagne Supernova knee bar early and Coffey eventually tapped. Dar refused to let go for a few more seconds. Dar 1-1

Round 5:

Dar hit a dropkick into the corner for a two count right away.  Coffey came back with a backdrop driver for a two count of his own. Dar locked in a guillotine and Coffey eventually countered with a vertical suplex. Coffey hit a superplex just as the round ended. Sha Samuels looked close to having a heart attack in a split screen backstage.

Round 6:

Dar stalled early and rolled out of the ring, later locking in a knee bar that Coffey escaped. He followed up with a pin with his feet on the ropes, but Coffey still kicked out. Coffey locked in the Gator Lock once more, but Dar struggled to the ropes.

They ended up at ringside, Coffey accidentally hit his hand on the post and Dar hit the Nova Roller on the outside. Coffey narrowly made it back into the ring.

Dar looked to finish, but Coffey hit a forearm, lariat, half-and-half slam and finally a diving forearm to score the deciding fall and win the NXT UK Heritage Cup with just ten seconds left in the match. 2-1 Coffey

Samuels went crazy backstage, then ran to the ring with his betting slips. Wolfgang and some members of the roster and staff came out to celebrate with Coffey and also to collect their money from Samuels, who had put 100:1 odds on the match in favor of Dar.

Finally, Joe Coffey returned from hiatus and walked out to celebrate with his brother.

Final Thoughts:

This was a fun show with a good opener and a really good main event. The post-match celebration was cool as you almost never see anything like this in modern wrestling any more.

Next week:

  • Trent Seven vs. Sam Gradwell
  • Fallon Henley vs. Isla Dawn
  • Dave Mastiff vs. Josh Morrell

In two weeks:

  • NXT UK Champion Ilja Dragunov defends against Wolfgang

NXT UK also revealed three matches set to air next week.

Then on this week’s show, footage aired of Seven attacking Gradwell in the NXT UK Performance Center.

As we reported earlier, a new NXT UK Champion was also crowned today after Ilja Dragunov was forced to relinquish the title due to injury.

NXT UK results: Meiko Satomura & Sarray vs. Xia Brookside & Eliza Alexander

This week’s WWE NXT UK was taped at London’s BT Sport Studio with Andy Shepherd and Nigel McGuinness on commentary.

Tiger Turan defeated Kenny Williams

Williams promised last week that not only would he defeat Turan on this week’s show, he would unmask him and prove to the world he is Amir Jordan.

The commentary team was divided on whether Turan is Jordan or not. Shepherd believes Turan is a brand new wrestler on the roster while McGuiness isn’t so sure.

Turan got the early advantage over a frustrated Williams until a chop block to the knee changed the tide of the match. Williams was then in control for a period.

Turan made a comeback, hitting a dropkick from the second rope that sent Williams out of the ring. Turan then hit him with a suicide dive. After tossing his opponent back in the ring, Turan went for a top rope senton but Williams got his knees up.

Williams hit a penalty kick and began to taunt his opponent. Turan countered by rolling Williams up in a small package to get the three count.

Williams attacked after the match. He hit Bad Luck and then ripped Turan’s mask off only to reveal that he was wearing another mask underneath. Referees and security then hit the ring before Williams could rip off the second mask.

– A clip of Sam Gradwell confronting Trent Seven in the back was shown. This took place last week after Seven had attacked a fan. Gradwell called him the “dirt worst.”

– Die Familia confronted Oliver Carter in the gym where he was with Charlie Dempsey. They asked him if he was “with them or against them.” Carter told them he and Dempsey that he would run through all of them. A match was later scheduled between Teoman and Carter.

Josh Morrell defeated Primate

Primate looked to have taken control of this match after hitting a german suplex from the second rope. He then hit a clothesline in the corner and a big back body drop for a two count.

Morrell managed to come back after avoiding a charge into the corner. He landed a plancha to the outside, but then missed a 450 splash. Moments later, he would end up hitting a Code Red for the victory.

The commentary team played up what an upset this was and how it is Morrell’s first win in NXT UK.

– Blair Davenport was shown arriving to the building. She was confronted by Amale. She told Davenport that she hopes her comments last week were not about her. Davenport said her comments were directed to the whole NXT UK roster that whatever “hopes they may have are about to change.” She then warned her not to “step to her like that again.” Stevie Turner then exited the building and Amale thought she was laughing at her. Amale told Turner she will beat her next week and that she hopes Davenport will be watching.

– A video package featuring NXT UK Champion Ilja Dragunov was shown where he spoke about never having faced Wolfgang before.

Trent Seven defeated Tate Mayfairs

Fresh off his attack of a fan last week, Seven was in action this week against Mayfairs.

Seven chopped his opponent down in the early moments before taking firm control with a DDT. He then worked on his opponent for awhile until Mayfairs made a short comeback.

Mayfairs got a two count off a running crossbody, but Seven regained control short after. He then hit a Seven-style lariat to get the three count.

After the match, Seven continued to put the boots to Mayfairs and then locked in a variation on a figure four leglock. Gradwell’s music hit and he came in to make the save, however. Seven slid out of the ring and made his way to the back.

– A video previewing next week’s Noam Dar vs. Mark Coffey for the Heritage Cup was shown.

NXT UK Women’s Champion Meiko Satomura & Sarray defeated Xia Brookside & Eliza Alexander

Brookside and Sarray started the match. Brookside eventually got the advantage and she and Alexander isolated Sarray for a period. Sarray eventually hit a dropkick on Alexander and tagged out.

Satomura was then in control until she tagged out. Alexander would hit Sarray with a big clothesline shortly after. This led to the heels working on Sarray for an extended period once again.

Alexander had Sarray in a camel clutch until she eventually fought her way out and tagged in her partner moments later.

Once Satomura came back in, all the momentum was back with the babyfaces. She hit a frog splash on Alexander, but Brookside broke up the pin after.

Satomura would tag out moments later and once again, the heels were able to take control. Sarray fought back, however, and hit a brutal dropkick on Brookside while she was draped on the ropes. Satomura then tagged in and hit Scorpio Rising for the win.

Satomura and Sarray celebrated in the ring to end the show.

Next week:

  • Noam Dar defends the Heritage Cup against Mark Coffey
  • Teoman vs. Oliver Carter
  • Stevie Turner vs. Amale

WWE crowns new NXT UK Champion at TV tapings

Tyler Bate is the first-ever two-time NXT United Kingdom Champion.

Bate won the vacant NXT UK Championship at Thursday’s NXT UK television tapings, defeating Trent Seven in the finals of an eight-man tournament. Former champion Ilja Dragunov had to relinquish the title at Wednesday’s tapings due to injury.

The tournament final was a matchup of former Moustache Mountain tag team partners. Seven turned against Bate after they lost the NXT UK Tag Team titles last month. Leading into their breakup, there had been dissension between Bate and Seven over Seven cheating to win their matches.

Bate was the inaugural NXT UK Champion, winning the title in January 2017 and dropping it to Pete Dunne in May of that year. Bate, Dunne, WALTER, and Dragunov are the only four wrestlers to ever hold the title.

Dragunov appeared at Wednesday’s NXT UK tapings with one of his feet in a protective boot. His injury has yet to be acknowledged on NXT UK television. A Dragunov vs. Wolfgang NXT UK title match that was filmed in June will air in the coming weeks.

Three matches announced for next week’s NXT UK

Three matches have been announced for next week’s edition of NXT UK.

Noam Dar will defend the Heritage Cup against Mark Coffey on the show. It will be Dar’s fifth defense of the cup.

Two other matches for next week were revealed during Thursday’s edition of NXT UK.

Teoman and Oliver Carter will face off in singles competition. Die Familia confronted Carter in the gym during this week’s episode. They told him that he is either “with them or against them.”

Amale will also be in action next Thursday. She’ll face Stevie Turner in singles competition. This was set up in a segment on this week’s show. Amale had just confronted Blair Davenport when Stevie Turner approached her. She then told Turner she would “kick her ass” next week and hopefully, Davenport will be watching.

The full lineup for next Thursday’s edition of NXT UK is as follows:

  • Noam Dar defends the Heritage Cup against Mark Coffey
  • Teoman vs. Oliver Carter
  • Stevie Turner vs. Amale

Ilja Dragunov relinquishes NXT UK title due to injury

An injury has forced Ilja Dragunov to relinquish the NXT United Kingdom Championship.

At an NXT UK television taping on Wednesday, Dragunov appeared with one of his feet in a protective boot and had to vacate the NXT United Kingdom Championship due to the injury. An eight-man tournament will crown the new champion.

Dragunov had been NXT UK Champion since defeating WALTER for the title at NXT TakeOver 36 last August. Dragunov successfully defended the title against A-Kid, Jordan Devlin, Rampage Brown, Roderick Strong, and Nathan Frazer during his time as champion. Dragunov twice retained the title against Devlin.

A Dragunov vs. Wolfgang title match was also filmed at an NXT UK taping last month but has yet to air on TV.

The NXT UK Championship was first introduced in 2017. Tyler Bate, Pete Dunne, WALTER, and Dragunov are the only four wrestlers who have held the title since then.

NXT UK results: Trent Seven speaks, Blair Davenport returns

Blair Davenport defeated Angel Hayze (5:34)

Hayze used her speed and agility early on, but she got stopped with a basement dropkick and the returning Davenport took over. Hayze briefly came back and scored a two count off a botched slingblade.

Davenport hit a dropkick from the second turnbuckle, then turned a guillotine into a Northern Lights suplex. Davenport followed up with a Falcon Arrow for the pinfall victory.

After the match, Davenport declared that she’s back and vowed that she will crush dreams.

– Kenny Williams was in Sid Scala’s office when Tiger Turan walked in and they had words. They will have a match next week — and Williams vowed to unmask Turan.

– Noam Dar and Sha Samuels walked into the UK Performance Center, where Mark Coffey was training. They had words and Coffey challenged Dar to a match for the Heritage Cup Championship. Samuels gave 1 in 100 odds to Coffey winning and bet a stack of his own money. A lot of wrestlers and trainers then wanted in on the bet.

Fallon Henley defeated Emilia McKenzie (8:32)

McKenzie used grappling and submission techniques early, but Henley escaped. Henley came back with some power moves. McKenzie hit a swinging neckbreaker for a two count.

They traded pinfall attempts and McKenzie locked in a modified Cobra Clutch. Henley looked to have tweaked her knee when she jumped over McKenzie, who took advantage of the injury, hit a spear to the leg, and worked the leg over.

Henley then countered an attack into a sunset flip for the surprise victory. McKenzie looked upset but still shook Henley’s hand.

– Oliver Carter talked about Ashton Smith’s recovery from injury. Die Familie entered and Teoman greeted Carter in German. All three tried to persuade Carter to join them and told him that it would be in his best interest. They left and Carter looked like he was thinking.

– Sarray trained at the UK Performance Center. Xia Brookside and Eliza Alexander walked up and talked down to her. Meiko Satomura and Emilia McKenzie then walked into the frame and Satomura told the two heels that they talk too much. Satomura said that — if Brookside and Alexander wanted to step into the ring — she and Sarray would teach them a lesson. McKenzie briefly looked taken aback that Satomura would team with Sarray instead of her.

Wolfgang defeated Sha Samuels (10:20)

Wolfgang used his power early on to manhandle Samuels. Samuels finally outsmarted the bigger man and worked over his left arm. Wolfgang’s shoulder gave out on a suplex attempt and Samuels dropped him with a lariat.

Samuels applied a number of submissions on the injured shoulder, then hit a spinebuster as Wolfgang came off the top rope and was distracted by Noam Dar on the apron.

Wolfgang turned the match around when he got his knees up as Samuels came off the ropes. He dropped Dar with a big boot, then vaulted over the top rope and hit a spear on Samuels for the win.

Trent Seven in-ring promo

Seven came out dressed like a proper douche.

Since turning against Tyler Bate, Seven said he’s heard the question “Why, Trent? Why?” Seven said he had some visual aids. He brought up a picture of him low-blowing Bate, calling it a work of art.

Seven said it was the most important moment in British sports as he saved the industry. Seven said he was the center of attention now and took credit for having the most fans in BT Sport Studios since NXT UK started taping there.

Seven said Bate had lost his killer instinct and would not come back to face him. He said Bate was a weak little boy and would never be back — while Seven was British Strong Style and Moustache Mountain.

As Seven left, he got into it with a fan at ringside. Security told the fan to calm down, but the fan jumped the rail and Seven kicked him in the groin as security held the fan back.

Final Thoughts —

An average show with not a lot of great in-ring action. Wolfgang vs. Samuels was fine (as is to be expected with those two), Davenport’s return was a glorified squash, and Henley looked wooden at times. They are continuing to set up a slow-burn program between Satomura and McKenzie down the line it seems.

Trent Seven’s promo was the best thing on the show.

Next Week —

  • Kenny Williams vs. Tiger Turan
  • Meiko Satomura & Sarray vs. Xia Brookside & Eliza Alexander

In Two Weeks —

  • NXT UK Heritage Cup Champion Noam Dar defends against Mark Coffey

NXT UK spoilers: Title changes hands at taping

WWE NXT UK held a television taping at BT Sports Studio in London on Thursday, and a title changed hands at the event.

New NXT UK Tag Team Champions Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen defended their titles at the taping, and NXT 2.0 regular Fallon Henley was also in action at the event.

NXT UK Champion Ilja Dragunov was also in action at the show, defending the title against Wolfgang.

Below are results from the taping:

  • NXT UK Heritage Cup: Mark Coffey defeated Noam Dar 2-1 to win the Championship
  • NXT UK Championship: Ilja Dragunov defeated Wolfgang to retain the title
  • NXT UK Tag Team Championship: Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen defeated Mark Andrews & Wild Boar to retain the titles
  • Meiko Satomura and Sarray defeated Xia Brookside and Eliza Alexander
  • Isla Dawn defeated Fallon Henley
  • Emilia McKenzie defeated Nina Samuels

  • Dave Mastiff defeated Josh Morrell
  • Kenny Williams defeated Saxon Huxley

Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen win vacant NXT UK Tag Team titles

NXT UK has new Tag Team Champions as Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen won the belts on Thursday’s show.

The titles were declared vacant at the beginning of the show after Ashton Smith revealed he suffered a ruptured MCL when winning the titles, leading to he and Oliver Carter relinquishing them.

That led to a four-way elimination match being made for Thursday’s show featuring the brand-debuting Briggs & Jensen against Dave Mastiff & Jack Starz, Mark Andrews & Wild Boar and Die Familie (Teoman & Rohan Raja).

Briggs & Jensen and Teoman & Raja were the final two teams as the Americans hit a high/low on Raja to get the pin and title win in their promotional debut.

It’s the first taste of gold in either NXT or NXT UK for Briggs & Jensen. They become the seventh tag team champions in NXT UK history.

The match happened Wednesday during the first night of TV tapings. It’s unknown how long the duo will stay on the brand and what direction things will take during Thursday’s taping.

Smith’s timetable for a return is unknown. He and Carter had a short reign as champions, roughly three weeks in TV time, after defeating Moustache Mountain for the titles earlier this month.

NXT UK results: Tag Team Championship four-way elimination match

This week’s show was taped Wednesday at BT Sports Studios in London, England.

The show opened with a recap of last week’s “retirement promo” by Trent Seven and his subsequent sneak attack on former partner and best friend, Tyler Bate.

Smith & Carter in-ring segment

NXT UK Tag Team Champions Ashton Smith & Oliver Carter walked to the ring. Smith was wearing a brace on his right knee.

Smith talked about how he watched the finish of their title-winning match over and over and was amazed every time by the reaction the fans gave them. In the beginning of his NXT UK career, he had trouble winning matches and at times felt like no one had come to the shows to see him wrestle. That all changed when Carter joined the brand, they started teaming, and he finally saw light at the end of the tunnel.

That made it even harder to say what he was going to say next: he ruptured his MCL in that match and therefore had to vacate the titles. He apologized to Carter and told him that he was rooting for him to succeed in the singles division while he was away and would always have his back. Carter told him it was fine and not to worry. Smith vowed to be back and win the titles again. They then called out Sid Scala and relinquished the championship belts to him.

This brought out Die Familie who said they had not been pinned in the triple threat match for the titles and demanded the belts to be handed over. This brought out Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen who originally were scheduled to challenge Smith & Carter on this show. Next out were Mark Haskins & Wild Boar as well as Dave Mastiff & Jack Starz.

Scala then announced a four-way elimination match for the vacant titles in the main event of tonight’s show.

– Ahead of her match with Nina Samuels on the show, NXT’s Sarray visited with Meiko Satomura backstage. The champion welcomed her and they talked in Japanese. Satomura then turned to Emilia McKenzie and told her that Sarray wasn’t their only visitor as McKenzie will face Fallon Henley next week. Satomura hoped to see some fighting spirit.

– Sha Samuels was backstage and talked to Scala, asking him to overturn the decision of last week’s tag team match against Wolfgang and Damon Kemp. He said Wolfgang had used a scarf, which was a foreign object and the decision stands. Samuels started berating Wolfgang, who conveniently walked up behind him. They had words and Wolfgang offered a wager, so it looks like those two will meet again.

Isla Dawn beat Myla Grace (5:05)

They traded pinfall attempts early until Grace outsmarted Dawn, who came back by dropping Grace throat-first across the top rope. Dawn looked to get a submission victory, but Grace held her own and kept hitting moves.

Grace eventually missed a crossbody off the top, allowing Dawn to hit a head kick and a half nelson slam for the pinfall victory.

– Tyler Bate is taking a leave of absence after last week’s attack by Trent Seven.

– A video looked at Tiger Turan stalking Kenny Williams over the past few weeks.

– Noam Dar entered Scala’s office with the NXT UK Heritage Cup. He put it down on Scala’a desk and told him that he had beaten everybody that had challenged him and thought it was time to put the trophy on his mantlepiece and go for bigger challenges. Scala started to protest and Dar suggested one final farewell match in a stadium in front of thousands of fans, chanting “Please don’t go.” He told the bewildered Scala to get on it and demanded double pay for the match.

Sarray beat Nina Samuels (5:35)

Sarray started with a roll-up and immediately transitioned into a half crab, sending Samuels scrambling for the ropes. Sarray was on offense until Samuels caught her off a crossbody and hit a backbreaker.

Samuels illegally worked over Sarray in the ropes and continued dominating. Sarray came back with another roll-up, forearms, and a dropkick to Samuels’ knee. She eventually hit a basement dropkick on Samuels in the ropes and pinned her after an overhead exploder suplex.

– Blair Davenport will return from injury next week.

– Xia Brookside and Eliza Alexander harassed Sarray as she came backstage. They backed her against a wall, until Meiko Satomura power walked into the frame and they backed off. Satomura talked to Sarray in Japanese.

– Trent Seven will address the “NXT UK Universe” next week.

In an elimination match, Brooks Jensen & Josh Briggs beat Dave Mastiff & Jack Starz, Mark Andrews & Wild Boar, and Die Familie (Teoman & Rohan Raja) to win the vacant NXT UK Tag Team titles (18:15)

All participants were in the ring as the show returned from break. Wild Boar dropped the black contact lens look.

Haskins and Starz started out with some technical wrestling, until Raja blind tagged in. Jensen and Board had a longer encounter next and Jensen hit a huge powerslam. Briggs and Jensen went for some double team action until Teoman came in and beat up on Boar.

Die Familie took turns working over Boar until he finally made the tag to Mastiff. Mastiff and Starz double-teamed Teoman for a while. Mastiff held Teoman up for a vertical suplex for a long time and then threw him down.

Briggs and Mastiff faced off next until Die Familie interfered and got thrown to ringside for their troubles. The two big men threw everyone else off the apron as well and faced off but quickly got attacked by Teoman and Raja again.

Haskins briefly stopped him and hit a shooting star press off the top to the outside on everyone for good measure. Some quick action with Wild Boar and Jack Starz followed next. Andrews almost had Starz pinned after another shooting star, but Mastiff narrowly saved him.

Seconds later, Starz pinned Haskins after a small package at the 9:35 mark, eliminating Haskins and Wild Boar from the match.

Die Familie immediately attacked Starz, including Charlie Dempsey hitting an uppercut at the outside as the referee was distracted. Dave Mastiff was in next and beat down both Jensen and Briggs while Dempsey hit another suplex on Starz on the outside. Rohan Raja used the confusion to hit Seek & Destroy on Mastiff and eliminate both he and Starz at 12:14.

Die Familie stomped away at Briggs until Jensen made the save. Die Familie used some nefarious team tactics to cut Jensen down to size. Finally, stereo hot tags were made and Briggs ran wild on Raja and Teoman. Dempsey got on the apron, allowing Raja to hit a backstabber on Briggs followed by an assisted power slam that looked like it might lead to a finish. Jensen made the save once more.

Teoman locked in the crossface on Briggs who eventually managed to turn the move into a pin for a near fall. He back body dropped Teoman about 20 feet into the air and tagged in Jensen. The two big men hit stereo big boots on Teoman and Dempsey on the apron and hit an ugly incarnation of a high/low on Raja to score the final elimination and become the new NXT UK Tag Team Champions.

Henley came out to celebrate with them after the match as they posed with the belts.

Final Thoughts:

The main event was a lot of fun as Brooks & Jensen did not look out of place and had some charm as the two giants. Smith’s injury is unfortunate as he and Carter never even got to have one title defense. I hope he will be back soon and I could see Carter get mixed up with some of the more prominent names on the roster. He is really good and they certainly need someone who can work after all the recent departures towards NXT 2.0.

Sarray also looked good in her show debut while Dawn vs. Grace mostly was just there.

The backstage segments really spiced the show up as well.

Next week:

  • Emilia McKenzie vs. Fallon Henley
  • Blair Davenport returns
  • Trent Seven promo

NXT UK’s Blair Davenport returning to action

Several months after suffering a scary-looking leg injury, Blair Davenport is returning to action.

A video aired on NXT UK this week revealing that Davenport (Bea Priestley) is returning to the ring. Davenport issued a warning putting the NXT UK roster on notice.

A return date for Davenport wasn’t announced.

Davenport’s injury happened during a Japanese Street Fight against Meiko Satomura for the NXT UK Women’s Championship. The match aired on NXT UK this February.

During the street fight, Davenport jumped off the top rope and gave Satomura a double stomp as Satomura was on the apron. Davenport’s ankle landed badly, the match was stopped, and Davenport was stretchered out.

Davenport posted a picture of herself on crutches and with her leg in a boot after the street fight aired. She thanked everyone for the love they sent her and stated that she would be back in the ring “before you know it.”

The street fight was Davenport’s second time unsuccessfully challenging Satomura for the NXT UK Women’s Championship.

Davenport formerly wrestled for Stardom and AEW. It was announced in July 2021 that she had signed with WWE.

NXT UK results: Trent Seven speaks, Kemp & Wolfgang vs. Samuels & Dar

Taped at BT Sports Studios in London, England

Tiger Turan defeated Josh Morrell (3:04)

Turan worked over Morrell’s arm early and came off the top with a crossbody for the first near fall of the bout.

This also brought on the end of the match as Morrell seemed to have hit his head taking the move and the referee, after briefly talking to him, threw up the X sign and stopped the match. Medical personnel checked out Morrell at ringside.

– A video announced the return of Blair Davenport, who had injured her leg a few months ago.

Lash Legend defeated Myla Grace (4:34)

Legend dominated early and threw Grace from the ring with an uppercut. Legend caught her off a crossbody attempt and threw her head into the ropes repeatedly.

Legend got Grace up for a cringeworthy gorilla press, but set her back down and hit a knee. Legend applied a kneeling backbreaker and then failed to take a hurricanrana the proper way, stumbling around the ring instead.

Grace hit a tornado DDT for a two count but quickly fell victim to a big boot by Legend which lead to the pin and the win.

– A video announced that Sarray from NXT 2.0 would be coming to NXT UK next week. She also talked about Meiko Satomura already being a Japanese influence there.

– Another video announced that Brooks Jensen, Josh Briggs and Fallon Henley would be coming to NXT UK next week. They said they wanted to challenge for the NXT UK Tag Team titles and Henley wanted to check out the women’s division.

Wolfgang & Damon Kemp defeated Sha Samuels & Noam Dar (12:41)

Kemp and Samuels started and Kemp dominated with his amateur skills. Samuels quickly tagged out and Dar evaded Kamp, but quickly got put down as well with Kemp manhandling the smaller man.

Samuels and Wolfgang tagged in next and Wolfgang took over. Both tagged in their partners and Dar eventually used some distraction to take Kemp’s leg out. Dar and Samuels managed to work Kemp over for the next few minutes. Dar kicked Wolfgang off the apron, preventing Kemp from tagging out.

Kemp eventually hit a double suplex on both opponents and tagged in Wolfgang, who ran wild. Kemp ran interference to prevent Dar from sneaking up on Wolfgang and the two briefly posed.

Wolfgang hit a spear on Samuels and went for a pin, but Dar made the save. Kemp hit a German suplex on Samuel, who pulled Dar into the ring before taking the move. Dar distracted the referee and Samuels thumbed Kemp in the eye. Wolfgang took advantage and wrapped his scarf around Samuels’ leg, allowing Kemp to hit a big running power slam on him for the pinfall victory.

After the match, Samuels ran back into the ring, but Wolfgang stopped him with a spear.

Trent Seven addresses his future

Seven came out and talked to the fans, telling them how much they meant to him over the years. He said he had always been honest with them and it was true when he said he didn’t know what he would do once Moustache Mountain lost the NXT UK Tag Team titles.

He called for to partner Tyler Bate to come out. He talked about their history (including mentioning “the other one” aka Pete Dunne/Butch) and all the places they had gone all over the world together.

He said that this was it and had a long, emotional hug with Bate. Seven then went back and hugged Bate once more, telling him that he loved him so much.

Then he proceeded to land a low blow on Bate, pulled him up by the beard and told him that he had never needed him before slapping him and hitting a Birminghammer that left Bate laying.

He draped his Moustache Mountain towel over Bate before slowly walking out of the arena to thunderous boos.

Final Thoughts:

The opener was cut short by an injury and the women’s match with Lash Legend was abysmal. The tag match was fun and Damon Kemp continued to show promise with his unique amateur style offense.

The segment with Trent Seven and Tyler Bate was very good and should lead to what will hopefully be a long feud and a string of fantastic matches between the two.

Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen to challenge for NXT UK Tag Team titles

An NXT 2.0 team is getting a shot at the NXT UK Tag Team titles.

On the NXT UK episode that airs next Thursday, Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen will challenge Oliver Carter & Ashton Smith for the NXT UK Tag Team Championship. It will be Smith & Carter’s first defense since winning the titles.

Carter & Smith became NXT UK Tag Team Champions by defeating Moustache Mountain (Tyler Bate & Trent Seven) and Die Familie (Teoman & Rohan Raja) in a triple threat match on NXT UK two weeks ago.

Fallon Henley, who is aligned with Briggs & Jensen in NXT 2.0, will also be appearing with them on NXT UK.

A promo from Briggs, Jensen, and Henley aired on NXT UK this week. Briggs said it will be an honor to face Carter & Smith.

Briggs & Jensen’s team debuted following last September’s NXT 2.0 rebrand. The story of their partnership is that they bonded after getting into a bar fight with each other.

Briggs & Jensen are currently feuding with Von Wagner on NXT 2.0.

It’s also been announced that NXT 2.0’s Sarray will be in action against Nina Samuels on NXT UK next Thursday.

NXT 2.0’s Wagner, Lash Legend, Ivy Nile, and Damon Kemp have also recently appeared on NXT UK. They took part in April’s NXT UK television tapings.
