Report: WWE NXT to resume touring in June

WWE NXT will return to touring for the first time in over two years, according to a report.

POST Wrestling has confirmed that NXT will return to the road with house shows in Florida in June. Their report states that sources within WWE have confirmed that the events will be held in Florida, with no current plans to tour outside the state.

Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter last June that NXT talent had been told that there were plans to resume touring in July 2021, but POST reports that this year there is a schedule in place.

NXT’s last house shows were held in March 2020. The COVID-19 pandemic forced the cancellation of NXT live events later that month, and the brand has yet to resume touring.

Known as the “Coconut Loop,” the NXT brand regularly toured Florida prior to the pandemic, providing an opportunity for talent deemed not ready for NXT television to gain experience wrestling in front of live audiences.

California Dreamin’: NXT heading west for five-date October run

Amid a slew of announcements for upcoming NXT dates, the WWE’s must buzzworthy property has added California onto its list of stops, announced via Twitter Monday.

The five date NXT tour will run from October 26-30th and will hit up and down the California coast:

– Wednesday, October 26th: Selland Arena in Fresno, CA

– Thursday, October 27th: Memorial Auditorium in Sacramento, CA

– Friday, October 28th: San Jose State University in San Jose, CA

– Saturday, October 29th: Bakersfield Theater in Bakersfield, CA

– Sunday, October 30th: Palladium in Los Angeles, CA.

The San Jose date is the first time NXT has come back to San Jose since Wrestlemania 31 weekend. Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10 AM Pacific.

Just Sunday night, NXT announced a Japan date that will precede an eight-date Australian and New Zealand swing this December. The company continues to run frequent shows in Florida and will hit up Iowa, Minnesota, and Nebraska this month.
