Three participants set for North American title match at WWE NXT Stand & Deliver

The first participants for the North American Championship match at Stand and Deliver have been revealed.

Dragon Lee, Ilja Dragunov, and JD McDonagh have been added to the five-way match that will take place on the April 1 event. The final participant will be decided in a battle royal that will be held on next week’s NXT.

Dragon Lee interrupted a Wes Lee promo on Tuesday’s show, saying he wanted to be the first one to call his shot. Lee agreed, officially putting Lee in the match. JD McDonagh came out and confronted Lee, saying if he was interested in his title, he wouldn’t be left standing. McDonagh proceded to have his match with Dragunov, which ended when McDonagh accidentally attacked Dragon Lee, who was sitting at ringside. It soon turned into a brawl, with Wes Lee wiping everyone out with a dive to the floor.

Two matches added to Stand and Deliver include a three-way NXT Tag Team title match between champions Gallus, The Creed Brothers, and Tony D’Angelo & Stacks. The Creeds were first to challenge Gallus, and after a game of pool the champions agreed. Later, after some more partying at the bar, Gallus also agreed to defend against D’Angelo & Stacks.

Another match will have The Schism (The Dyad, Joe Gacy, and Ava) against Chase U (Andre Chase, Thea Hail, and Duke Hudson) and Tyler Bate. The two groups held a debate on Wednesday’s show, with Chase U throwing out the challenge. Gacy dismissed the match at first, but became interested once Hudson offered to put up the school.

Here is the updated lineup for NXT Stand and Deliver:

North American title match set for November 22 edition of WWE NXT

A North American Championship match is set for the November 22 edition of NXT.

Wes Lee will put the title on the line against former champion Carmelo Hayes. The match was made on Tuesday’s NXT.

Tuesday’s show had Hayes and Trick Williams hanging out in the barbershop. Hayes noted that he wanted his North American title back. On next week’s NXT, there will be a contract signing ahead of the match on November 22.

Hayes lost the title to Solo Sikoa on the September 13 edition of NXT. However, the win was invalidated by Shawn Michaels due to Sikoa not being the original opponent for Hayes. Instead, the title was put up in a ladder match on the October 22 Halloween Havoc event, with Lee emerging as the winner.

On last week’s show, Hayes interfered in the main event, tripping Lee, which cost him and Bron Breakker the NXT Tag Team titles in a match against champions Pretty Deadly.

Wes Lee wins North American title at NXT Halloween Havoc

Wes Lee is the new North American Champion.

Lee won the title in a ladder match at Saturday’s Halloween Havoc, defeating Von Wagner, Carmelo Hayes, Oro Mensah, and Nathan Frazer in a match that had many big spots, including Wagner throwing Lee from the ring to the announcer’s table. The finish had Lee and Hayes fighting on the ladder. Lee took out Hayes with a meteora on top of a ladder propped up on the ring ropes, then grabbed the title for the win, earning his first singles title victory in NXT.

The North American title was vacated after Solo Sikoa was stripped of the title, as he was not originally scheduled to be former champion Carmelo Hayes’ opponent. Shawn Micheals, instead of giving the title back to Hayes, made a ladder match for Halloween Havoc.

On Tuesday’s NXT, Lee and Mensah were attacked backstage by Hayes and Trick Williams prior to their scheduled match. Despite being attacked, the two faced Hayes and Williams anyway, eventually losing.

Solo Sikoa wins North American title on WWE NXT

A surprise match led Solo Sikoa to his first NXT North American Championship.

Sikoa defeated Hayes in an impromptu match in the main event of Tuesday’s NXT, pinning Hayes after a splash off the top rope. This ends Hayes’ second run with the North American Championship after 102 days.

The main event of Tuesday’s NXT was originally set to have Wes Lee, voted on by fans, taking on Carmelo Hayes. However, Hayes and Trick Williams jumped Lee backstage, ramming his head into a locker door repeatedly. Later in the ring, Hayes said everyone from all brands was coming for him. That was when Sikoa appeared, taking out both Hayes and Williams. Sikoa said that he had next, eventually leading to the match.

Sikoa recently made his main roster debut at WWE Clash at the Castle, helping cousin Roman Reigns defeat Drew McIntyre to retain the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. He made his in-ring debut on the following SmackDown facing McIntyre, where it ended in a no contest.

Four matches added to WWE NXT Worlds Collide

Four matches have been added to NXT Worlds Collide this Sunday.

Tuesday’s show ended with Ricochet promising to become a two-time North American Champion, challenging Carmelo Hayes. Other matches added include Kayden Carter & Katana Chance vs. Nikki A.S.H. and Doudrop for the NXT Women’s Tag Team titles, Nathan Frazer vs. Axiom in a best of three rounds match, and a four-way to unify the NXT Tag Team and NXT UK Tag Team titles with Gallus, The Creed Brothers, Briggs & Jensen, and Pretty Deadly squaring off.

Hayes ended Tuesday’s show annoyed he didn’t have an opponent for Worlds Collide. He said he wouldn’t wrestle on the show. Ricochet interrupted and promised to become a two-time champion.

Meanwhile, after Kayden Carter & Katana Chance defeated Ivy Nile & Tatum Paxley on Tuesday’s show, Nikki A.S.H. and Doudrop came out and challenged the two to a title match. Carter and Chance accepted,

Tuesday’s show also had Gallus defeating Diamond Mine in a match after Roderick Strong caused a distraction, leading Damon Kemp to be pinned. The two teams ended up brawling after the match, later being joined by Pretty Deadly, Briggs & Jensen, and the rest of the NXT locker room.

In a backstage promo, Frazer and Axiom were seen reading comic books. Frazer brought up how Axiom never wrestled in NXT UK as an inside joke, since Axiom wrestled in NXT UK under the name A-Kid. They eventually set up a best of three rounds match.

Here is the card so far for Worlds Collide, which takes place at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida on Sunday:

WWE unifies NXT North American and Cruiserweight titles at New Year’s Evil

A unified North American Champion was crowned on the first NXT episode of 2022.

At New Year’s Evil on Tuesday night, Carmelo Hayes defeated Roderick Strong to unify the NXT North American Championship and NXT Cruiserweight Championship. Hayes was North American Champion going into the match, while Strong held the Cruiserweight title.

With the titles being unified, Hayes will be recognized as the NXT North American Champion going forward.

Hayes pinned Strong after hitting his diving leg drop finishing move from the top rope. There was a spot leading into the finish where Strong hit an X-Plex from the top on Hayes. Hayes was able to put his arm on top of Strong and try to pin him after they both landed, but Strong kicked out.

The title unification match was set up by Hayes and Strong both calling themselves the true champion in NXT.

Hayes has been North American Champion since winning the title from Isaiah “Swerve” Scott last October. After winning last year’s NXT Breakout Tournament, Hayes cashed in his title shot contract on Scott to win the North American title.

Title change on NXT’s USA Network premiere

Roderick Strong has won the NXT North American title, giving all four members of the Undisputed Era championship gold.

Strong captured the title from Velveteen Dream during the premiere episode of NXT on the USA Network. The two headlined the first hour and had largely a back and forth contest until the other three members of the Undisputed Era came out to ringside. Following a ref bump, the three entered the ring to interfere.

Dream initially fought them off, but after kicking out of one End of Heartache, fell to a second after Adam Cole superkicked Dream. All four members of the Undisputed era posed with their titles to end the first hour of NXT.

Velveteen Dream won the title on January 30, defeating Johnny Gargano on an episode of NXT. He held the title for 231 days.

While tonight’s episode of NXT only lasted one hour on USA Network, the show is continuing for a second hour on the WWE Network. The show will air both hours on the USA Network starting on October 2.
