Women’s title match set for WWE NXT Halloween Havoc night one

Lyra Valkyria is next to get a crack at the NXT Women’s Championship.

Valkyria defeated Indi Hartwell and Roxanne Perez in a three-way match to become the new number one contender for the NXT Women’s Championship on Tuesday, defeating Hartwell after Kiana James took out Perez at ringside. With the win, she will now face Lynch on the first night of NXT’s two-week Halloween Havoc event, which begins on October 24.

In a backstage interview, James said she cost Perez the match because she wanted to prevent Perez from winning another championship. She then announced that if Perez could defeat Asuka on next week’s NXT, Perez could get a match against her.

Lynch is currently out of action after successfully defending the title at NXT No Mercy this past Saturday, defeating Tiffany Stratton in an Extreme Rules match. She was set to defend the title on Monday’s Raw against Tegan Nox, but was pulled from the match after receiving a cut during the Extreme Rules match that required stitches. The match is now set for next week’s Raw. 

WWE announces two-week NXT Halloween Havoc special

This October, WWE is celebrating Halloween with a special two-week episode of NXT.

WWE has announced that this year’s edition of NXT Halloween Havoc will take place across two weeks. Part one of the episode is set for Tuesday, October 24. The episode will then conclude with part two on Halloween night (Tuesday, October 31).

Both weeks of Halloween Havoc will air live on USA Network in NXT’s usual 8-10 p.m. Eastern time slot.

The announcement was made during NXT No Mercy on Saturday night.

This is the fourth straight year that Halloween Havoc has been an NXT TV special. Before returning in 2020, WWE hadn’t used the Halloween Havoc name since WCW closed its doors.

Halloween Havoc will be one of NXT’s final special events of 2023. The last NXT premium live event of the year is Deadline, which is being held in Bridgeport, Connecticut on Saturday, December 9. Deadline will feature the return of NXT’s Iron Survivor Challenge match.
