Finals set for NJPW Super Junior Tag League 2024

For the second straight year, TJP & Francesco Akira are headed to the NJPW Super Junior Tag League finals.

The tournament finals will be A Block winners Robbie Eagles & Kosei Fujita vs. B Block winners TJP & Akira. That was confirmed today with TJP & Akira advancing out of their block. The finals are being held at NJPW Power Struggle this Monday.

Going into the last day of B Block action on Saturday, there was a logjam in the standings with all six teams tied at four points. TJP & Akira defeated The DKC & Ninja Mack and are advancing to the finals due to holding tiebreakers over the other two teams that finished with six points. They own victories over both KUSHIDA & Kevin Knight and Taiji Ishimori & Robbie X from earlier in the tournament.

Here are the final B Block standings:

  • TJP & Francesco Akira (3-2): 6 points
  • KUSHIDA & Kevin Knight (3-2): 6 points
  • Taiji Ishimori & Robbie X (3-2): 6 points
  • YOH & Rocky Romero (2-3): 4 points
  • The DKC & Ninja Mack (2-3): 4 points
  • Paris De Silva & Jude London (2-3): 4 points

TJP & Akira won last year’s Super Junior Tag League and went on to become IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions at Wrestle Kingdom 18. The belts are currently held by KUSHIDA & Knight — and either Eagles & Fujita or TJP & Akira will be in line to challenge them at the Tokyo Dome.
