Tonight’s WWE Money in the Bank from the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, California, will feature two ladder matches to determine who will earn future anytime, anywhere title shots for the next year.

In the men’s match, it will be Seth Rollins vs. Solo Sikoa vs. LA Knight vs. Penta vs. Andrade vs. El Grande Americano.

The women’s match will feature Alexa Bliss vs. Rhea Ripley vs. Roxanne Perez vs. Giulia vs. Naomi vs. Stephanie Vaquer in a blend of the present vs. the future in the division.

The main card is rounded out by WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion Lyra Valkyria defending against Becky Lynch. If Lynch loses, she cannot challenge Valkyria again for the title while if Lynch wins, Valkyria must acknowledge her as the better woman.

The pre-show kicks off at 5:30 PM Eastern while the main card begins at 7 PM Eastern.

Countdown to Money In The Bank

-WWE was so excited about the Money In The Bank Kickoff Show, they started it 30 minutes early!

-Our panel is Micheal Cole, Pat McAffee, Big E and Wade Barrett. Cole and E have on blue and red ties respectively, Barrett went with no tie and McAffee is wearing the same clothes he’s worn for 36 hours.

-in lieu of a commercial break, the feed switched to Chelsea Green and Tiffany Stratton watching last year’s Women’s Money In The Bank Match. They thought it was pretty good.

-After a Cody and Cena recap video package, Sam Roberts and Megan Morant debated who the winners might be in the upcoming Cena/Paul vs Cody/Jey match. They threw to the panel for more analysis. Also, Barrett had taken off his jacket.

-An interview with WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion, Lyra Valkyria, aired next. Cathy Kelley mentioned her accomplishments over the year and Valkyria said that losing Becky Lynch’s friendship cast a shadow over her successes. they discussed the stipulation that if Lynch loses, she will never challenge for the Women’s Intercontinental Title again. If Lynch wins, Valkyria will be forced to “raise the bitch’s hand” as Valkyria put it. Valkyria said that she wants Lynch to feel the same embarrassment and pain that she cost Valkyria when she turned on her.

-At 6:14 pm, in the middle of Barrett’s assessment of the Lynch/Valkyria match, the first “We Want Truth!” chant of the night broke out.

-Next, after an acknowledgment of Dream Center, an LA-based charity, LA Knight himself arrived. He presented the team with a WWE Championship Belt and asked who one’s favourite wrestler was. He answered “CM Punk.” Knight offered to put Punk sideplates on the title belt for him.

-Cole, Barrett and McAffee exited to go get ready for the PLE and were replaced by Vic Joseph and Peter Rosenberg. No word on where Big E went. Byron Saxton was also getting crowd predictions. The children he spoke to picked Rhea Ripley to win the women’s Money In The Bank match and Penta or LA Knight to win on the men’s side.

-The Women’s Money In The Bank Briefcase was shown hanging over the ring in the Intuit Dome as the crowd filed in. I presume that means that match will be kicking things off when the show starts.

-Cathy Kelley filled us in on the quality of the ladders being used in tonight’s Money In The Bank matches. She threw back to Joseph and Rosenberg, who were joined by Big E. They made fun of Wade Barrett for taking off his jacket. Good times.

-Predicitons were made and the clock ticked down to the beginning of:

WWE Money In The Bank 2025

Victor Solomon sang a stirring rendition of the Star Spangled Banner. The crowd was unsurprisingly, quite into it. After that, Cole ran down the card and the traditional Wrestlers entering and hanging out in the arena footage was shown.

During the intro, it was announced that this even marks 28 years to the day the Micheal Cole did his first commentary. Congrats!

Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match: Rhea Ripley vs. Stephanie Vaquer vs. Roxanne Perez vs. Naomi vs. Giulia vs. Alexa Bliss

There’s too much to say about all the participants of the MITB match this year, so while the entrances are happening, how about a quick fun fact for each?

Rhea Ripley – Has never competed in a Ladder Match. Ever. Like, not even once. Just ask her. She’ll tell you.

Stephanie Vaquer –  Held the NXT Women’s and Women’s North American Championship simultaneously.

Roxanne Perez – NXT Female Superstar of The Year 2024.

Naomi – Blacklight artist and multiple-time Champion.

Giulia – Her big move is a scissored armbar crossface she calls “Bianca” (no relation to Bel Air).

Alexa Bliss – Doll and early 2000’s heartthrob collector.

There were some audio issues with the commentary team off the top, but they were back in full force for the explosion of cheers for Rhea Ripley’s entrance.

The bell rang and all six women stared each other down. Quickly, they began punching each other, leading to Vaquer, Giulia and Perez exiting the ring. Naomi introduced the first ladder and Ripley used Bliss as a weapon to take her out.

Everyone traded places and Vaquer, Giulia and Perez ran through a threeway dance until Naomi returned and introduced Perez’ face to the ladder. Bliss snuck up on her though, and laid Naomi and Perez out on a ladder for a flip senton. Giulia returned to ring and set a ladder in the corner. She sent Bliss into it but it fell over and caught her in the back. She shrugged it off as Ripley climbed back into the ring.

Ripley dropkicked Giulia into the corner and tried to set up a ladder. Naomi and Perez tried to stop her, but Ripley dispatched them quickly. Ripley tried to hit a Razor’s Edge on Perez on the ladder, but Perez managed to reverse it and then hit a springboard moonsault onto Ripley on the ladder.

Perez was the first to climb a ladder, but was pulled off by Bliss. Giulia took out Bliss, and she and Perez raced up the ladder. Ripley stirred to life first though, so Giulia and Perez formed a quick alliance and sandwiched her in a ladder, before hitting that ladder with another ladder. Ladder.

Perez and Giulia continued their partnership by stacking half a dozen ladders on Ripley on the outside. While they were doing that, Naomi set up a ladder in the ring, but Vaquer got to her before she could climb it. Vaquer hit a killer dragonscrew on Naomi that looked like it wrenched her knee out of her socket.

Bliss and Perez climbed the ladder and Naomi and Vaquer climbed a second one. Bliss bailed and powerbombed Vaquer off the ladder. She then pushed over both ladders sending everyone flying. Giulia and Perez then dropped Bliss right onto a ladder and turned on each other. That woke up Ripley who threw off the pile of ladders she was under.

Ripley grabbed Perez and threw her into the barricade before confronting Giulia in the ring. Ripley went on a tear, taking out Giulia and Naomi before setting up a ladder on the ring ropes. Ripley threw Giulia into it for good measure and set up a ladder in the ring. She set up another one creating a bridge between the turnbuckle and the ladder. Ripley tried to use it on Vaquer, who countered and dragged her up onto the ladder for some Devil’s Kiss knees.

Vaquer scrambled up the ladder and got her hands on the case, but Perez stopped her from winning the match, much to the crowd’s dismay. Bliss tried to sneak up the other side, but Perez met her at the top and sent her into Naomi. Vaquer grabbed Perez on the ladder bridge, while Naomi set up another bridge opposite to it.

Bliss, Naomi, Vaquer and Perez all climbed up and traded blows, mirroring each other. Suddenly, Bliss and Perez hit dueling Code Reds on the ladder bridges. Giulia leapt in and removed the bridges, trying to take advantage and grab the briefcase. Perez scrambled up and the two traded blows atop the ladder.

Ripley arrived and dragged Giulia off the ladder. Ripley hit a riptide on Giulia and Bliss laid out Perez with a Sister Abigail before the two shared a smile and raced to the top of the ladder. Naomi dashed their hopes by knocking over the ladder though and set herself up to climb the ladder and unhook the briefcase, becoming 2025’s Miss Money In The Bank!

Match Result: Naomi defeated Stephanie Vaquer, Roxanne Perez, Giulia, Rhea Ripley and Alexa Bliss

Wow! Great match and excellent opener. I was surprised by Naomi taking in the win, but the three “newer” talents, Giulia, Vaquer and Perez shone brightly in this match. Bliss looked like she was right in there and Ripley was awesome as always. A good precedent set for the rest of the show!

-Next, highlights were shown from WWE x AAA World’s Collide which happened earlier in the afternoon (Full results here), setting up the upcoming match between Octogon Jr and WWE Intercontinental Champion, Dominik Mysterio.

-After that, a video package recapping the feud between WWE Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso and Gunther was shown. They will face off this Monday on RAW.

WWE Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio vs Octagon Jr.

A last minute addition to the card, WWE’s “Dirty” Dominik Mystario will defined his title against AAA’s Octagon Jr. For those not familiar with Octagon Jr, his father was an Octagon. Also, he’s one of the premiere Luchadores in Mexico. So this should be an excellent match up.

Speed was the name of the game in this contest, with Mysterio and Octagon exchanging moves at a lightspeed pace early on in the match. For once, a Mysterio was the larger performer in the ring, and Mysterio sent Octagon to the mat. He then tied Octagon’s mask to the rope so that he could beat him up unimpeded.

Mysterio slowed down the pace trying to keep Octagon on his heels, but Octagon didn’t buy it and took over with an armdrag corkscrew. Mysterio followed up with some 3 Amigos, but only got one in before Octagon broke free. Mysterio hit him with a modified driver, knocking Octagon for a loop and onto the ropes.

Octagon ducked a 619 attempt and hit a swinging neckbreaker before heading up top. Liv Morgan provided a distraction and Mysterio hit a 619 and a frog splash in quick succession. 1-2-3 and Mysterio retained his title, but Octagon looked great doing it.

Match Result: Dominik Mysterio defeated Octagon jr.

Lots of fun and a perfect length for a match that was announced just hours before showtime. Octagon looked great and Mysterio gets to continue the heeling that he does so well as Intercontinental Champion.

-Backstage, Chad Gable implored the Creed Brothers to sneak a Fireball branded ladder under the ring for El Grande Americano to “find” during the Men’s Money In The Bank match. Better than a dancing Cinnamon Toast Crunch, I guess.

Women’s Intercontinental Champion Lyra Valkyria vs Becky Lynch

Lynch is doing her best to win the Big Show Award this year by flip flopping all over Valkyira. They been friends, champions, enemies, chenemies and more over the last few months. Valkyria for her part appears as confused as the rest of why Becky Lynch just doesn’t seem to want us to like her.

Valkyria took the fight to Lynch so hard it popped the neck strap of her top and the ref had to quickly do it up while Lynch recovered on the outside. Valkyria followed her out and was throw into the steps and barricade for her trouble. This is the aggressive and brutal version of Becky Lynch and she went right for it with a Bex-ploder that got a two count. Valkyria countered with a Manhandle slam for a two-count of her own.

Lynch dropped a series of legs, wearing down Valkyria via neck offense. Lynch chopped her into the ring and Cole reminded us that Lynch is 0-5 in her last five matches, which I thought was interesting. In the ring, both women traded punches.

Valkyria picked up the pace and dropped Lynch with a modifed driver. Lynch fought back though, sending Valkyria into the corner. Fro there, Lynch landed a spiked DDT for another near fall. Lynch sent Valkyria to the corner and went up to the top turnbuckle. Valkyria joined her there and hit a superplex followed by a fisherman’s suplex for a two-count.

Valkyria tried a moonsault, but Lynch dodged it. Lynch locked in an Armbar and wrenched on Valkyria until Valkyria reversed it into a half-crab submission, forcing Lynch to grab a rope break. Valkyria splashed her out to the floor and Lynch tried to get away and recover on the Spanish announce table. Valkyria followed her, and laid her out over the barricade.

Valykyria went up on the announce table and dropped a leg on Lynch over the barricade. Tossing her back in the ring, Valkyria went up to the top turn buckle. Lynch caught her in mid air though and powerbombed her into a pin attempt.

It was here, for, some reason, the crowd started chanting “We want Truth.”

Any way, Lynch tried to get the drop on Valkyria with a Manhandle slam from the top rope, but Valkyria kicked out at two, shocking Lynch. Lynch took her to the outside and tossed Valkyria into the ring post, followed up by a Manhandle slam on the concrete. Valkyria wasn’t out though, and hit a Nightwing on Lynch onto the floor, as the ref counted. At 9, they both scrambled back into the ring.

The two traded blows and rollups and Lynch resorted to a handful of tights and somewhat unexpectedly, won the match and the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Title.

Match Result: Becky Lynch defeated Lyra Valkyria

After the match, as per the stipulation, Lynch forced Valkyria to raise her hand in victory. Lynch wouldn’t let it go though and made her do it on all four sides of the ring. She then made Valkyria put the belt on her, but Valkyria had enough and hit a German Nightwing, leaving the new champ writhing in the ring.

A really, really good match somewhat sullied, in my opinion, by the finish. Despite Valkyria winning against Lynch with the roll up, It came completely out of nowhere in this match. I blinked and almost missed it.

Men’s Money in the Bank ladder match: Seth Rollins vs. Penta vs. El Grande Americano vs. Solo Sikoa vs. Andrade vs. LA Knight

I did it for the Women, so how about some fun facts for the Men’s field as well:

Seth Rollins – Multi-Time WWE Champion, best part of Captain America: Brave New World

Penta – Holds the record for most changes of name without actually changing his name.

El Grande Americano – Delicious.

Solo Sikoa – Flowered necklace and loose shorts enthusiast.

Andrade – Was once an Idolo.

LA Knight – Yeah! Two-time WWE, yeah! United States Champion, yeah!

After the entrances, of which there were many, everyone seemd to have eyes for Seth Rollins. Rollins got attacked and sent to the outside by Penta, Andrade and Knight, who then turned their attention to Sikoa. They did the same to him and sent him out. Americano was next, and Rollins managed to get back into the ring and take out Penta and Andrade.

Everyone was down on the outside and Americano picked up a ladder a dispersed smacks with it to everyone in the match, while the commentary team debated the merits of researching men’s nipples. I’m not kidding, that’s what they were talking about.

Any way, back in the ring, Penta had Americano in the corner and delivered some stiff chops until Rollins hit him in the stomach with a ladder. Americano threw Rollins onto a ladder in a modified flipping Razor’s Edge and set up a ladder in the ring. It was a very short ladder though, so his chances weren’t great and even less so after Siko punched him in the gut.

Knight then sent Sikoa into the ladder and laid him out with some bit shots. Sikoa fought back though and attempted a Samonan Drop on Knight onto the ladder, but Knight reversed it and knocked Sikoa out with a Knight elbow. He then climbed the same too short ladder and Penta joined him at the top.

Rollins, with a bigger ladder, climbed up and Americano went up the other side. Sikoa then set up a third ladder, which Andrade climbed up. They all battled atop their ladders of various sizes, with Penta, Rollins and Andrade falling.

Rollins dumped over Americano’s ladder and delivered a Pedigree to Penta. Sikoa and Rollins remained as the only two standing in the ring. Sikoa went for a Samoan Spike, but Rollins hit a superkick and knocked him down. Rollins set up a ladder in the corner and launched Sikoa into it with a drop toe, followed by a curb stomp.

Rollins grabbed an appropriate sized ladder and set it up in the middle of the ring. Americano climbed up after him and put an ankle lock (taught to him by Chad Gable) on Rollins atop the ladder. Andrade tried to climb up OVER Rollins and hit a Sunset bomb on Americano off the top of the ladder. Penta and Rollins flew backwards into the corner ladder.

Penta and Andrade went to the top of the ladder and Andrade offered Penta a chance to grab the briefcase, seemingly out of respect. Penta, having never seen wrestling apparently, tried to do it and Andrade immediately punched him in the stomach.

Andrade set up a ladder bridge to the corner and climbed up on top of it with Penta. He tried tho spulex Penta, but Penta blocked it and hit a Mexican Destroyer on the the ladder, wrenching Andrade’s neck. Sikoa leapt into the ring, taking out Penta and mocking him, instead of climbing the ladder. That gave Knight an opening to pull Sikoa out of the ring and into the barricade.

Knight set up a ladder bridge between the ring and barricade and then threw Sikoa into the steps. Knight climbed into the ring, but Penta met him with a Destroyer and started climbling the ladder. Americano suplexed him off the ladder and then did the same to Rollins, and then Knight, and then Andrade.

Rollins charged Americano, but the alleged luchadore dodged and send Rollins into the ladder. Americano then went under the ring and got the Official Fireball Branded Ladder that the Creed Brothers had hidden under there. Sadly, it did not shoot fireballs like I’d hoped, but Americano was able to hit everyone with it.

Americano climbed, and so did Penta. The two fought on top of the Fireball Ladder (TM) and Penta sent him packing, only to be replaced by Rollins. Americano stashed a steel plate in his mask on the outside, while Rollins and Penta fought atop the Fireball Ladder. Rollins fell, and Penta was left alone atop the ladder. Americano scrambled up another ladder, jumped onto a second ladder and then climbed up to headbutt Penta with the steel plate. Americano then went for the briefcase, but Knight pulled him off.

Rollins was left alone in the ring and climbed the Fireball Ladder while Heyman urged him on. Andrade tried to climb up as well but Rollins sent him down. Penta arrived, and Andrade pulled Rollins off. Penta and Andrade fought at the top of the ladder. Siko raced up and Andrade was forced to hang from the briefcase for a moment. Penta then climbed a different ladder, while Rollins called for backup.

Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed came out and cleaned house, taking out Americano, then Knight, then Andrade and Penta. Breakker speared Knight on the outside and Reed hit a Tsunami from the top rope on Andrade. Suddenly, Jacob Fatu and JC Mateo arrived and faced off against Breakker and Reed.

The four beasts brawled on the outside, with Mateo getting speared through the barricade by Breakker. Fatu hit a pop up Samoan Drop followed by a Suicide Dive onto Reed. Fatu put Sikoa back in the ring and set up a ladder for him. Sikoa noticed that the ladder was too short (why do they even have those?) and Fatu grabbed a proper-sized ladder, guarding it as Sikoa tried to get the briefcase.

Just as Sikoa’s hand touched it, Fatu grabbed his ankle and declared “I HATE YOU” pulling him down and superkicking him. He hit a moonsault on Sikoa, getting revenge for Sikoa making fun of him behind his back on Smackdown last night. Fatu slammed Sikoa through that bridge that Knight had set up earlier, removing him from contention and possibly being able to walk again.

Rollins grabbed another Official Fireball Ladder ™ and set it up in the middle of the ring. No one was stirring, not even a mouse. Rollins climbed the ladder and almost had it, but Knight pulled him down and hit a lariat. Knight raced up the ladder, but Rollins recoverd and through him headfirst into the Fireball Ladder and then delivered a Curb Stomp.

Rollins then climbed the ladder, grabbed the briefcase and became Mr Money In The Bank for the second time in his career.

Match Result: Seth Rollins defeated Penta, El Grande Americano, Solo Sikoa, Andrade and LA Knight

That was an absolutely exhausting match to watch, but it was really, really good! I loved the interference from Sikoa’s crew and Rollins’ crew. Rollins showed himself to be the top guy he is, Knight was stellar as always and Penta and Andrade were excellent. Americano did everything he needed to and the tension was there through the whole match. Excellent effort by all!

-Next up, WWE made it official that Wrestlemania will be returning to Las Vegas next year and offered a QR code for early ticket registration.

WWE Champion John Cena and Logan Paul vs. Cody Rhodes and WWE World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso

John Cena is hellbent on ruining wrestling. Logan Paul is hellbent on ruining everything else. In response to their call for team names, I’d have just gone with “the worst” in lowercase letters to piss off the grammar police. Tonight they take on Yeeting-enthusiast and World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso and his partner, guy-who-totally-returns-his-cart-to-the-designated-area at Costco, Cody Rhodes.

After the entrances and introductions, the bell was stuck and after some discussion, Rhodes and Paul kicked things off. Paul immediately tagged in Cena who locked up with Rhodes. Quickly, Paul was tagged back in, as Cena attempted to ruin tagging.

Rhodes got Paul up in a vertical suplex and stalled him for about 30 seconds. From there, Uso asked for a tag and came in to take on Paul. Paul met him with a big right hand, knocking Uso off his feet. He followed it up with two more for good measure.

Uso came back with a pop up neckbreaker and sent the dazed Paul into the corner to yeet all over him. Paul fought back with a blockbuster though and got the first nearfall of the match. Cena then jumped in and rained punches down on Uso. Cena sent Uso into the corner and distracted the Ref so Paul could get a few shots in.

Uso reversed the next whip and sent Cena into the corner. He reached for a tag, but Paul got one first and pulled him back into the center of the ring for a gutwrench slam. Paul dragged Uso to his and Cena’s corner, isolating him from Rhodes. Rhodes paced on the ring apron (the most anxious part of the ring) while Cena delivered a lariat to Uso. Cena then bowed (or curtsied) to the crowd.

Cena slowly picked Uso apart, countering everything Uso could dig up and delivering a begrudging Five-Knuckle Shuffle. Uso popped up and put a sleeper on Cena, with Paul way to far away to make a tag. Cena backed him into the corner though, squashing him and tagging Paul before Uso could get to Rhodes.

Paul hit a big leg drop onto Uso after mugging for the crowd. Paul prevented another tag, again isolating Uso away from Rhodes. Cena tagged in and ran over to give Rhodes a cheap shot before turning back to Uso. While the Ref calmed Rhodes down, Cena and Paul double teamed Uso. Cena went for another cheap shot on Rhodes, but he saw it coming this time and blocked it, sending Cena back to Uso with a punch. Paul tagged himself back in, but Cena didn’t like it, so he tagged HIMSELF back in. The two shoved each other over who should be tagged in, giving Uso a chance to crawl over for a hot tag to Rhodes.

Rhodes jumped in and cleared out Cena and Paul. He hit a Cody Cutter on Cena and dumped Paul to the floor to receive a suicide dive. Rhodes hit Cena with a big missile dropkick, but on the bounce back Paul hit Rhodes in the face, giving Cena a chance to hit an AA and almost get a pin before Uso broke itup.

Rhodes grabbed Cena and landed a CrossRhodes. Paul went up top for a splash, but missed and hit Cena by accident. Then Uso hit a spear on Paul and everyone was laid out in the middle of the ring.

Cena and Uso got to their feet and began exchanging blows. Cena tried for an AA but got a superkick instead. Paul took Cena’s place and he and Uso exchanged punches. Rhodes came to the rescue, hammering Paul with jabs. Paul hit him in the gut before the Bionic Elbow and hit a Paulverizer. Instead of a cover though, Paul went up top, mugging to the drone cameras. That gave Rhodes and chance to superplex him while still holding the camera! Uso hit an Uso splash next and Paul released the drone.

Cena snuck in an AA on Uso and then one on Rhodes, but Rhodes kicked out. Cena took Rhodes to the outside and cleared an announce table. He cleared a second one and put Rhodes on the first one. Cena put Rhodes up for an AA, but Rhodes wiggled free in time for Uso to run across the tables and spear Cena.

Paul then hit a Moonasult from the ring onto Uso on the table, crushing them both! Cena and Rhodes crawled back into the ring, Cena with the Championship belt in hand. Cena clocked Rhodes with the belt and a masked man entered the ring and speared Cena. IT WAS R-TRUTH!!!! Truth is back!!!

He left through the crowd, leaving Cena knocked cold in the middle of the ring. Rhodes staggered up and hit a CrossRhodes on Cena to get the pin and the win for his team!

Match Result: Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso defeated Logan Paul and John Cena

WOW! HOT DAMN! That was an exciting match, but the Truth reveal at then was spectacular! I honestly stood up in my office and exclaimed “TRUTH!!!” to the no one that was in there with me. What a great ending to a really good show!! There is no other outlet or entertainment that can do a surprise like that the way Pro Wrestling can and I am here for it!

COUNTDOWN TO MONEY IN THE BANK

– The two-hour countdown show began with a live shot of outside Scotiabank Arena, as well as footage of the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match participants arriving to the arena. Michael Cole then mentioned Trish Stratus as the host for tonight’s PLE as we then went to a cool animated cold open for the show.

– Cole introduced himself, as well as Wade Barrett and Big E, who were all standing outside of Scotiabank Arena with a crowd of fans behind them. Big E paraphrased a lyric from AJ Lee’s theme song during his introduction. Cole mentioned Paul “Triple H” Levesque hinting that there could be some surprises in store tonight before he and the panel ran down the card for the evening.

– The panel discussed the Damian Priest versus Seth Rollins match for the World Heavyweight Championship, specifically focusing on Rollins’s condition in his first match since WrestleMania XL. They then went to a sitdown interview Cole had with Rollins.

– As the interview began, Rollins talked about how it felt good to feel the energy of the WWE fans when he returned. Cole asked Rollins about Becky Lynch, which prompted a response of “she’s doing well, though her future is unclear.”

Rollins talked about how the WrestleMania XL night one tag match didn’t go the way he might’ve wanted, but it was an experience he enjoyed. He mentioned how the second night was an uphill battle. He said that he didn’t regret sacrificing his own World Title reign and well being to help Cody Rhodes finish the story. Rollins admitted that there might be some hint of jealously, but he knew that for the first time in twelve years, he could rest comfortably. We then got a tease for the second part of the interview that would air later on during the countdown show.

– We returned to the panel discussing the first part of the Rollins interview. A partial compilation of the Top 10 Money in the Bank Crash Landings was shown.

– The Judgment Day, Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, and Kevin Owens, plus Solo Sikoa’s Bloodline were shown arriving at the arena. We got a recap of the rise of this new Bloodline.

– Cole mentioned that Triple H and WWE officials had to get involved just to have Jacob Fatu allowed in Canada for the six-man tag match due to how dangerous he was. Wade Barrett wondered when Fatu would incinerate the rest of the Bloodline, citing that “when you play with fire, you get burned.”

– Cathy Kelley stood by for an interview with Sami Zayn. She asked about how difficult things were for Zayn as he put his comedy show together and preparing for facing Bron Breakker tonight. Zayn said that with the comedy show over with, he’s got himself into the mindset of seeing himself walking out of Canada with the Intercontinental Championship.

– Elsewhere, Jackie Redmond interviewed Bron Breakker, who put himself over as one of the toughest athletes in wrestling today. He said that he’d be winning the Intercontinental Championship tonight before leaving. A video package for Zayn versus Breakker aired.

– While the panel discussed Zayn versus Breakker, Big E walked off and had to leave for an urgent matter. Following that, we were shown a video on the Money in the Bank briefcase narrated by Damian Priest. The video ended showing all the previous MITB briefcases left at what appeared to be the WWE Warehouse.

– A “WWE Playback” featuring members of Damage CTRL and former leader Bayley watching last year’s women’s Money in the Bank ladder match was shown.

– A video about Toronto’s significance in WWE history, narrated by Redmond was shown.

– Shawn Michaels joined Cole and Barrett at the panel as they talked about NXT Heatwave coming up tomorrow night. Michaels discussed matches we’ll see tomorrow, including Trick Williams versus Je’Von Evans versus Ethan Page versus Shawn Spears and Roxanne Perez versus Lola Vice. He then talked about Oba Femi’s progress after a year in NXT. Cole then cued up more of the Top 10 MITB Crash Landings.

– The panel discussed the men’s MITB ladder match as Michaels put over his own history in ladder matches. Barrett predicted LA Knight would win the men’s ladder match, while Cole predicted Jey Uso would get the win.

– Cathy Kelley was backstage with Jey Uso, who sold his confidence in winning the men’s ladder match.

– Back at the panel, we saw that Big E was inside Scotiabank Arena, where he hyped up the crowd inside the arena with his vintage New Day intro. He went into the rink and talked about how the risk was worth the reward. Big E climbed the ladder and said that tonight would be a special night before we returned to the panel and the second part of the Seth Rollins interview up next.

– An excerpt from the WrestleMania XL: Behind the Curtain documentary was shown.

– The participants for the women’s MITB ladder match were shown arriving at the arena as hour two of the countdown show began. A “By the Numbers’ video for the event soon followed.

– We returned to the kickoff panel, with Redmond now in Cole’s place and Big E back in there. Redmond got the fans behind the panel to make some noise. The second part of the Rollins interview was then shown.

– In part two of Cole’s interview with Rollins, Damian Priest’s time as World Champion was discussed. Rollins said that he wasn’t bitter, and pointed out how Priest needed assistance to win his previous title defences. He talked about the “gentleman’s agreement” and how he agreed on it to push Priest to be confident in himself and stand on his own two feet.

Cole asked about if the past few months have forced Rollins to re-examine his legacy. Rollins answered that he’s given a lot of thought to it and that he wanted to add the World Title to that legacy. When asked about what he’d do if he failed to win tonight, Rollins said that he’d re-evaluate and figure out how to move forward. On the subject of Gunther waiting for him at SummerSlam should he win tonight, Rollins noted that it would be a dream match and that he’d be excited to face him. The interview wrapped on that note.

– A video about WWE’s community impact with the MLSE Launch Pad, Yonge Sttreet Mission, and Scadding Court Community Centre was shown.

– Another “WWE Playback”, with the competitors of last year’s men’s MITB ladder match was shown.

– The second half of the “By the Numbers” video was shown.

– Kelley stood backstage with Tiffany Stratton, who said that her opponents in the women’s MITB ladder match should concerned about her because it will be “Tiffy in the Bank” when all is said and done. As Stratton left, Kelley noted that she saw LA Knight and was going to try and get an interview with him before she tossed it back to the panel.

– The panel discussed the women’s MITB ladder match for a bit before the aforementioned LA Knight interview.

– Knight talked about how everyone out there could be pulling for Jey Uso more than him, and that he’s been there since day one and that everyone will be saying “L.A. Knight… Yeah!”

– The panel polled the crowd on who they wanted to win the men’s MITB ladder match with Knight and Jey getting equal love from the crowd. Big E noted how nearly all the competitors had someone not in the match itself that could get involved. Redmond noted that fans loved surprises at WWE’s Premium Live Events while acknowledging the crowd chanting for AJ Lee.

– There was a preview for a new WWE documentary focusing on Damian Priest. This documentary, “WWE 24: Damian Priest”, is set to premiere in August.

– The Number 1 MITB Crash Landing was Braun Strowman sending Kevin Owens for a crash through a table in 2018.

– We were shown highlights of Sami Zayn’s comedy show that happened this past Thursday.

– A very funny video of Chelsea Green doing the CN Tower Edge Walk was shown.

– The panel showed a video of Paul Levesque’s Twitter/X video about how the landscape of WWE could very well change tonight, and how there were a “few surprises in the tank” for this evening. We then were shown a video package for Rollins versus Priest (that inexplicably had audio of inside the Scotiabank Arena for a bit before the proper audio was restored).

– We went back to the panel, but the audio issues came back, as we heard the commentary team being introduced. They discussed Rollins versus Priest and the six-man tag match before we went inside the Scotiabank Arena.

– The host of Money in the Bank, Trish Stratus, made her way to the ring to a huge hometown ovation. Stratus said that she was excited to welcome everyone to a night that would change WWE forever before she introduced Samantha Irvin to sing the U.S. national anthem. The Canadian national anthem was sung by Ryland James.

MONEY IN THE BANK 2024

– A live aerial shot of Toronto greeted us to the show as we then went to the new Bloodline, Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens, and Randy Orton arriving at the Scotiabank Arena. Seth Rollins, Damian Priest were also shown making their arrival.

– The animated cold open for the event was then shown once more (having been previously aired at the top of the Countdown).

– Michael Cole and Corey Graves welcomed us to the event and announced that we’d be kicking off with the men’s ladder match.

Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Drew McIntyre defeated Jey Uso, LA Knight, Andrade, Carmelo Hayes, and Chad Gable

The announcers noted that the men’s ladder match was sponsored by The Boys show on Amazon Prime, and the case had a Vought International (a fictional megacorporation from The Boys) logo on it.

Jey Uso entered first to a great ovation from the Toronto crowd, who all chanted “YEET” and did his signature dance. After Andrade’s entrance, LA Knight made his way to the ring to a reaction that equaled Jey’s entrance. Knight walked under the ladder set up at ringside as the fans chanted for him. Chad Gable got booed loudly by the crowd as they chanted “You Suck” in time with his theme. Carmelo Hayes wore Toronto Raptors-themed gear for the match. For Drew McIntyre’s entrance, the crowd chanted “CM Punk” at him.

All six competitors teed off on each other as the bell rang. McIntyre flattened Andrade with a Glasgow Kiss headbutt. Hayes and Knight fought each other, while Jey and Gable briefly brawled. Jey and Knight were the only ones left in the ring as they stared each other down. They took out Hayes and Gable on opposite ends of ringside.

McIntyre entered the ring and hit everyone with a ladder before he set it up in the middle so he could climb it. Gable intercepted him and trapped McIntyre in an armbar across the top of the ladder. Andrade took Gable out with a springboard legdrop. He then used the ladder as a weapon to bludgeon McIntyre and Gable with.

Hayes and Andrade exchanged blows before Hayes flattened his foe with a springboard clothesline. Hayes tried for another springboard move, but Andrade caught him for a springboard Spanish Fly onto a ladder spread across the ring. That earned a “Holy s**t” chant from the Toronto faithful.

Jey and McIntyre faced off in the ring and started to exchange strikes before Uso hit a spear on his Scottish foe. Gable threw Jey with a fierce German suplex before he did the same to McIntyre. Gable caught Hayes and launched him with an impressive Chaos Theory suplex. After he pulled down the straps, Gable did a German suplex on a ladder to throw it onto Andrade.

Gable’s ascent to the top was stopped by Knight, who stomped away on him in the corner. Gable responded with a leg whip across the middle rope to immobilize Knight. With the ladder stood on its side, Knight threw Gable with a neckbreaker into the ladder.

Outside the ring, Knight bashed Hayes’ head against the commentary table before he set a particularly large ladder across the ring and commentary table. Knight’s attempted powerbomb was stopped by a knee from Hayes.

With two ladders set up in the ring, Gable and Hayes brawled it out as Gable caught his opponent with an ankle lock across the two ladders. McIntyre grabbed Gable and threw him against one of the ladders before he drove him into a ladder with a powerbomb. McIntyre hit a Claymore Kick on Andrade as he tried to climb up. Knight and Jey teamed up to stop McIntyre, hitting him with the BFT and Uso Splash, respectively.

Jey and Knight both tried to head up the ladder and were caught at a stalemate. They traded blows (with dueling “YEAH” and “YEET”) chants. Hayes emerged and tipped the ladder to throw Jey and Knight over. He floored Jey with Nothin’ But Net.

Hayes almost had the briefcase in hand, but Andrade stopped him before he could get to it completely. Andrade set up a ladder bridge between the free-standing ladder and the middle rope. Knight threw Andrade off the ladder, which caused a sunset flip powerbomb right onto the ladder bridge. That move took Hayes out of the equation.

Gable threw Knight on the ladder bridge set up at ringside. He appeared to be all clear for grabbing the briefcase, but Jey pushed the ladder away to leave him dangling precariously. Gable fell off and got hit with a spear.

Jey came dangerously close to grabbing the briefcase, but McIntyre stopped him by throwing the ladder in his face. That put Jey out of commission. McIntyre was in the clear and he grabbed the briefcase for the win.

A hot opener to get the ball rolling for tonight. Hayes and Gable particularly were the standouts of the match, getting some of the best spots out of everyone. McIntyre’s win sets up the teased cash-in for tonight during Rollins vs. Priest and a possible CM Punk appearance, so that’s to be determined.

– We got a promo from the head of Vought International that served to promote the second season of The Boys on Prime Video.

Intercontinental Championship: Sami Zayn (c) defeated Bron Breakker

Breakker entered to a new theme song, while Zayn naturally got a huge home country reaction from the Toronto crowd.

The two sized each other up in the middle of the ring before Breakker throw Zayn overhead. Breakker followed that up with another shoulder throw. The commentators noted that Breakker said he wanted to “destroy” Zayn.

Zayn slapped Breakker in the face, which prompted a shoulder thrust to the corner. Zayn quickly recovered and took down Breakker with a top rope elbow smash. Breakker got thrown over the top rope and Zayn sized him up for an Arabian Press, which he barely connected with.

Zayn worked over Breakker for a bit until he got crushed with a high-speed Steinerline. Breakker followed that up with a belly to belly suplex as he continued the attack on Zayn in the corner. Breakker mocked Zayn’s “ole ole ole” chant as he kept up the onslaught. Zayn kicked out after another belly to belly as Breakker just did push ups next to him.

Breakker got battered with repeated elbows as Zayn caught him with a DDT from the top ropes. That only got a close two. Zayn went on the offensive once again, clotheslining him over the top rope yet again.

At ringside, Zayn tried for a moonsault, but Breakker caught him. Zayn pushed Breakker into the ringpost to briefly create some separation. Zayn threw Breakker out of the ring and looked to have him set up for his tornado DDT. Breakker intercepted him with a fierce pounce and threw Zayn back into the ring.

Zayn countered the spear with the Blue Thunder Bomb, but Breakker kicked out at two. Breakker positioned Sami across the top turnbuckle and ran full force for an impressive Frankensteiner. Zayn just barely kicked out at two. The crowd responded to the action they were seeing with justified “this is awesome” chants.

Outside the ring, Breakker looked to have the spear, but Zayn avoided calamity. Breakker instead flattened Zayn with a leaping clothesline from the apron.

Breakker grabbed Zayn for the gorilla press, but he got countered into the Exploder suplex. Zayn’s Helluva Kick was intercepted with a vicious knee strike. Gorilla Press Slam by Breakker. Zayn was in prime position for the Spear, but he kicked Breakker in the head and brought this match to an end with a Helluva Kick to retain.

A heck of a match to follow up the hot opener. Zayn retaining on Canadian soil was the right call. For his effort, Breakker looked like he could hang and he put forth one of his best main roster performances to date. While he lost here, Breakker’s story with the IC Title looks like it’s just beginning.

– A video with Cody Rhodes and Metro Boomin hyped up the return of Bad Blood in Atlanta on Sunday October 5th, 2024.

The Last Time Is Now

– Trish Stratus appeared on the stage and asked if the fans were having fun this evening. She put over her special moments inside Scotiabank Arena as she introduced John Cena.

Cena made his appearance to a massive reaction from the Toronto crowd, decked out in new “The Last Time Is Now” gear. The crowd sang along to Cena’s theme song.

Cena said that he was here to officially announce his retirement from WWE, much to the crowd’s dismay. Cena acknowledged the reaction being mixed and wondered why he chose to announce his retirement here. He said that in two decades of being in WWE, he’s seen waves of prosperity and also times of tremendous hardship, where only the most dedicated fans stand by your side.

He said that whether WWE was hot or cold, Canadians always showed up. Cena said that the farewell does not end tonight, as he put over Raw’s move to Netflix. He pledged to be there and that the 2025 Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, and that WrestleMania 41 will be his last shows.

Cena told fans that he’d kick off the press conference immediately after Money in the Bank to field any questions about his impending retirementg. He wanted to thank the fans for their support as they chanted “thank you Cena”. With tears in hiis eyes, Cena sincerely thanked the fans for their honesty and for allowing him to plan something unforgettable, and that they can start this in Toronto. “If you want some, then hurry up and come get some… because the last time is now!” Cena wrapped his promo up.

– Backstage, Damian Priest told Judgment Day not to get involved in his business as he went to prepare for his World Title Match. As Priest left, Balor said, “whatever you want… boss.”

World Heavyweight Championship: Damian Priest defeated Drew McIntyre and Seth “Freakin'” Rollins (McIntyre cashed in Money in the Bank mid-match)

The stipulations agreed upon for this match: if Rollins wins, Priest must leave the Judgment Day; if Priest wins, Rollins can never challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship ever again.

Rollins, of course, entered to a huge ovation and the crowd loudly singing his song (with a decibel meter shown on screen during this).

After the introductions, the match started fast with Rollins and Priest attempting to hit their signature moves on one another, but to no avail. Rollins’ suplex was countered into a Falcon Arrow by Priest in this exchange.

Priest crushed Rollins with repeated splashes in the corner, but got caught with the Slingblade on the third attempt. He got sent to the outside as Rollins looked to the entrance and called out Drew McIntyre to get it over with.

Rollins hit a series of three suicide dives on Priest that sent him over the announce table. He dodged a kick from Priest and took him down with a superkick. With Priest stunned in the middle of the ring, Rollins launched himself with a springboard swanton, then a moonsault for the near-fall.

Priest planted Rollins with the headlock driver as he tried for South of Heaven, but that got countered into a pin attempt. Rollins slammed Priest down with a powerslam, followed by a running knee. He ascended to the top rope for the frog splash. That only got a two count, unfortunately.

Rollins tried for another top rope move, but Priest hit him with a throat thrust to stun him. Priest looked to hit a move of some sort, but Rollins wriggled out of the way and hit a buckle bomb instead. Priest responded with a sit-down powerbomb.

Priest began to smacktalk Rollins as he slapped him the face. This fired Rollins up and we got an exchange of blows from champion and challenger. Priest got the better of Rollins with repeated spinning kicks and looked to have him caught in the South of Heaven. Rollins revesred it and managed to land the Stomp on Priest for the incredibly close near-fall.

Rollins yelled at Priest to stand on his own to feet as the World Champion struggled to get himself up. Priest recovered and planted Rollins with the Razor’s Edge for a near-fall of his own.

Priest went to the top rope, but Rollins intercepted him with a headbutt. Priest managed to stave off Rollins briefly, but not for long, as Rollins got his superplex and Falcon Arrow combo. A 2.99999 nearfall there as Drew McIntyre lived up to his promise and looked to cash in his Money in the Bank Contract, though the timing for McIntyre’s entrance seemed to be off by just a bit.

McIntyre dropped Rollins with a Future Shock DDT and sized him up for the Claymore. Priest intercepted with a clothesline, but he got taken down by a kick that grazed him. McIntyre wanted to finish Priest off, but CM Punk ran in and attacked McIntyre to a huge roar from Toronto’s crowd.

Punk assaulted McIntyre at ringside with a steel chair. He threw McIntyre into the timekeepers area and smashed the chair over him repeatedly. Punk eyed the World Title and smashed McIntyre with it. Satisfied with his handiwork, Punk sat crosslegged across the commentary table. Priest got back up to his feet and hit South of Heaven on the dazed McIntyre for the pin to retain the World Title.

After the match, Rollins yelled at Punk for costing him the World Title as Corey Graves tried to calm him down.

The one-on-one portion of the match was decent and somewhat sloppy at times. The weird timing botch with the pin attempt and McIntyre’s cash-in didn’t help matters. That said, Punk’s intervention kinda brought things back up. The finish reheats both Punk’s feuds with McIntyre and Rollins, which brings Raw’s main event scene into some fun chaos in the coming months. The men’s MITB briefcase being sacrificed for it might be a sore spot for some as it could’ve gone to a different winner to give them a big opportunity.

Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Tiffany Stratton defeated Chelsea Green, IYO SKY, Naomi, Lyra Valkyria, and Zoey Stark

Canadian star Chelsea Green got a big reaction from the Toronto crowd.

The match started with all the competitors except for Green leaving the ring to try and grab their ladders. Green finally got a ladder and was left all alone in the ring as she tried to climb, but couldn’t because of her fear of heights.

Green took down Naomi and Stark with the ladder before SKY launched herself with a kick to Green. SKY showed off her athleticism as she avoided Stratton’s offense with a flipping dodge. She dropkicked Stratton into the ladder, as she followed that with a Meteora.

Valkyria sent SKY into the corner-propped ladder with a suplex. She then got a fisherman suplex on SKY right on another ladder. Stark took out Valkyria with a springboard missile dropkick, followed by a German suplex and clothesline. Stark caught Valkyria’s springboard and hit a rough-looking Samoan drop onto the ladder.

Stark looked to hit some sort of diving attack on Valkyria, but she appeared to hit the ladder more than Valkyria. Naomi recovered and planted Stark with a split-legged moonsault and leg drop on the ladder.

Stratton got a rather impressive Alabama slam on Naomi, which got her a loud “Tiffy Time” chant from the crowd. She went to the top rope and hit an amazing swanton to the competitors outside the ring.

Back in the ring, Green set up a bigger ladder in the ring and tried to climb it gingerly. SKY stopped her ascent with a ladder sandwich. Her climb is stopped by Valkyria, but SKY managed to trap her in a ladder tree of woe position. This wasn’t enough to stop Valkyria, as she grabbed SKY for a unique German suplex from the ladder. Stark took Valkyria out with a kick.

Stratton and Stark’s standoff was countered by Naomi, who tried to scale the two ladder, but she was stopped by Stratton and Stark. With the ladders split, Naomi showed impressive balance as she landed an amazing split-legged DDT on Stratton.

Naomi took some tables from underneath the ring, but she got thrown into the steel steps by Green, who got help in setting up the tables by Stratton. In the ring, SKY, Stark, and Valkyria were soon joined by Stratton as a ladder bridge was set up.

Stark catapulted Stratton into one of the ladder bridges as Valkyria came close to grabbing the briefcase. Stark caught her and threw her right into the ladder bride back-first. Naomi bounced Stark off the ladder and looked to climb up top.

Green intercepted as the fans began to chant for her. She sent Naomi face-first with an Unprettier onto the ladder bridge. Stark climbed up as SKY soon joined her at the top. The two fought each other as she looked for a superplex, but SKY escaped and and hit an incredible Michinoku Driver onto the ladder.

Green looked like she was in the clear, but Stratton met her at the top and sent the Canadian crashing through the tables outside the ring. With nobody left standing, Stratton grabbed the briefcase and became Miss Money in the Bank.

Things started off rough, but became incredibly fun once all six women got into the swing of things. Some of the spots were just amazing and I found myself really enjoying this match by the end. I’d say this was the better of the two MITB ladder matches this evening. Stratton getting the briefcase was certainly the right call, for sure.

**********

– Backstage, Stratton confronted Trish Stratus and said that “Trishy Time” was no longer here and that it would be “Tiffy Time” from now on. Stratus warned Stratton not to get too ahead of herself.

Six-Man Tag Match: The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, Jacob Fatu) defeated Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, and Kevin Owens

Owens entered to a great ovation from the Toronto crowd for what was surely an emotional entrance for him. The crowd sang along for Orton’s entrance as the decibel meter got shown again. Rhodes, naturally, got one of the biggest reactions of the evening, as the Toronto crowd showed their love for the American Nightmare.

Rhodes began for his team, while Sikoa stepped up on the Bloodline’s behalf. The fans chanted “f**k you Solo” as Rhodes and Sikoa faced off.

Sikoa backed off and tagged in Tama Tonga instead. Rhodes and Tonga locked up in the middle. Rhodes caught Tonga with the dropdown uppercut before Tonga briefly gained momentum. Rhodes dropped Tonga with a bulldog before he tagged Owens in. Tonga got shelled in the corner with repeated stomps and punches by Owens to a huge roar from the Toronto crowd.

Rhodes back in for his team as he slammed Tonga with a suplex. Orton got tagged in and it was his turn to lay in on Tonga with the ten-punch in the corner. Tonga caught Orton with a thumb to the eye so he could tag in Fatu for his first bit of in-ring action in WWE.

Fatu tried to run at Orton, but he got sent outside and hit with the draping hangman DDT. Fatu quickly recovered while Orton tried to get hyped up for the RKO. He dropped Orton with a Samoan Drop, followed by a superkick. Fatu dragged Orton back to the Bloodline corner as Sikoa tagged himself in.

The “f**k you Solo” chants picked up back again while the Bloodline worked over Orton in their corner. They continued to isolate Orton with Tonga tagged in. Orton stopped Tonga’s momentum in its tracks with a back suplex, which allowed him to tag Owens into the match.

Owens unleashed his fury on Tonga once more, as he got his cannonball and swanton combination. Owens’ pinfall was broken up by Fatu, who dragged Tonga back to his corner so he could be tagged in.

Fatu worked on Owens for a bit before Sikoa found himself back into the match. Owens struggled to make it back to his corner, but failed to clear completely as Sikoa forced him back to the Bloodline corner. Tonga Loa got in a cheap shot on Owens with the referee distracted.

Sikoa tagged Fatu back in and he flattened Owens violently with a high-speed running hip strike in the corner. Owens’ moment of hope got snuffed out by Fatu. The fans chanted “Fight Owens Fight” as he tried to take on the Bloodline alone.

Sikoa took a cheapshot on Rhodes, but he got sent over the top rope by Owens. Orton looked to be tagged in, but Tonga Loa pulled Orton down while the referee was distracted by Fatu.

A crazed Owens beckoned Sikoa to hit him and we got a scuffle between the two. Sikoa missed on a corner splash as Fatu tagged himself in again. He trapped Owens in a chinlock before he headbutted him in the corner. Running splash by Fatu is missed thanks to an Owens dodge. Rhodes finally tagged into the match and he went wild on Sikoa.

Disaster Kick by Rhodes on Sikoa, followed by the Cody Cutter on Tonga. Rhodes took out Loa with a suicide dive as Fatu attacked Cody. Fatu got sent over the timekeepers area with a toss by Rhodes.

Sikoa caught Rhodes with a spear for the near-fall. The two men met in the middle as Rhodes countered a Samoan Drop with a Pedigree attempt. Sikoa avoided id and the referee got knocked down by accident. Rhodes floored Sikoa with the Cross Rhodes.

Owens and Orton joined in with a swanton and RKO, respectively. The trio looked towards the commentary table and cleared it out. Sikoa was set up in position for a Shield powerbomb, but Fatu jumped in and took everyone out. Owens avoided a running splash from Fatu, which caused him to colllide with the referee. Owens smashed Fatu with the Prime Hydration bottle and leapt from the barricade to take Fatu out with a frog splash.

Owens threw Tonga into the ring and tried to set him up for the package piledriver. Loa rescued Tonga with a low blow on Owens, but he got taken out with an RKO. Sikoa hit the Samoan Spike on Orton. Rhodes caught Sikoa in position with the Cross Rhodes.

Rhodes’ triple Cross Rhodes attempt intercepted by Fatu, who planted the WWE Champion with an implant DDT. Samoan Spike by Sikoa and that’s it, over.

A good main event to cap off Money in the Bank, and the expected result happened to bring us closer to the expected Sikoa versus Rhodes World Title Match at SummerSlam. Roman Reigns’ return in a few weeks will certainly be one to look forward to.

Plus, The Bludgeon Brothers will defend their SmackDown Tag Team titles against Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson on the pre-show. That begins at 6 p.m. Eastern time before the main card starts at 7 p.m.

**********

LUKE HARPER & ERICK ROWAN VS.  KARL ANDERSON & LUKE GALLOWS FOR SMACKDOWN TAG TITLES

Okay match.  Gallows & Anderson set up the Magic killer but Rowan broke it up.  Then the Bludgeon Brothers did a double-team power bomb on Gallows and got the pin.  Felt like a pre-show match and they had less time than usual for the pre-show match which didn’t help them.

DANIEL BRYAN VS. BIG CASS

Bryan won with a running knee and the heel hook submission.  The crowd was heavly into “Yes” chants.  This was better than their match last month but nowhere near what most Bryan matches are going to be.  Bryan worked the left knee, Cass did moves like the torture rack.  It felt like this was the end of the program and I can’t say I’m sad about that.

New Day interview.   Xavier Woods said he’s feeling better after eating the peppers.  Kevin Owens shwoed up and said he had gifts, which were pancakes and Maple Syrup.  They wouldn’t tell Owens which one was in the match.  Owens asked the other two to take out Braun Strowman.  Kofi Kingston said they don’t cheat.  Then they said they’d eat pancakes, Owens then said he didn’t like pancakes and he didn’t like cereal, not even New Day cereal so they got mad and wanted him to leave.  Owens said IHOP was smart to change to IHOB because burgers are better.

SAMI ZAYN VS. BOBBY LASHLEY.

Total nothing match.  Short, very little happened.  Lshley sold a little early and came back with three delayed vertical suplexes and got the pin.  Nobody expected that to be the finish.  This match should have been either a shorter flash pin to get Lashley over like a monster or long enough to do a real match.  This neither helped Lashley nor was it a good match.

Elias did his thing.  He said Chicago is filled with scumbags who want attention.  The whole place started chanting “We are scumbags” loudly.  When people watch this bag historically my God are thjey going to cringe at that.

SETH ROLINS VS. ELIAS FOR THE IC TITLE

Good match, best so far.  Rollins won by reversing a cradle and held the pants to reverse and held on to get the pin.  Rollins was bleeding from the mouth early on.  He did three different dives.  On the third one, Elias sidestepped him and threw him into the post and the steps.  Elias showed good intensity in the last minute or so but seemed a little slow earlier on.  It was one of Elias’ better singles matches.  Interesting they had Rollins win with a total heel finish.  Not sure what the mentality behind that was.  I guess they want people to subtely like Elias.

WOMEN’S MONEY IN THE BANK LADDER MATCH:  ALEXA BLISS, SASHA BANKS, CHARLOTTE FLAIR, NATALYA, NAOMI, BECKY LYNCH, LANA  AND EMBER MOON

This was really a hell of a match.  Ember Moon and Naomi were the real stars of the match but everyone looked good.  The story was that Lynch had it won and Bliss tipped over the ladder and Lynch fell on her face onto another ladder and Bliss climbed up and pulled down the briefcase.  Banks took some crazy bumps.  Charlotte did some spears where she’s go under the ladder to do them.  Typical climbing and pulling down.  You could tell the practice was really a good thing even though some people think for whatever reason that’s a bad thing because it would rarely be done in the past.

Kurt Angle was celebrating that Bliss won in front of Paige.  Angle talked about getting to see Daniel Bryan and Samoa Joe and Paige thought he was trying to raid the roster.  Baron Corbin showed up and Paige made fun of him failing last year to cash in.  Angle thought it was funny Paige running down Corbin.

ROMAN REIGNS VS. JINDER MAHAL

Sunil Singh is in a wheelchari, wiht his arm in a sling and his neck in a neck brace.  This was supposedly from the Reigns-Singh match on Tuesday.  Singh came out of the wheelchair about two minutes in and threw Reigns into the post.  So both these guys worked real hard.  I won’t say it was a great match, but the crowd spent the entire match doing chants that had nothing to do with the match and were trying to ruin it.  The problem is Vince will see this as the crowd being electric while the fans were spending so much effort trying to ruin the match.  Singh tried to get out of the wheelchair a second time but Reigns blocked going into the post.  Reigns gave him a Superman punch and he took a bump over the wheelchair.  Reigns speared Singh on the floor.  Mahal got a quick near fall but Reigns hit Mahal with a spear for the pin.

Katie Millar who was in a Special Olympics clip was at ringside and the fans chanted her name.

CARMELLA VS. ASUKA FOR THE SMACKDOWN WOMEN’S TITLE

Kind of a boring match because the one thing about Asuka matches is the crowd doesn’t buy her selling and the whole match was her selling.  Carmella had good poise but it just wasn’t good at all.  Carmella did look good in the last few minutes.  The end saw Asuka in control when James Ellsworth came out dressed up as Asuka.  Asuka was distracted forever.  Ellsworth eventually unmasked and Carmella kicked Asuka in the head for the pin.  A lot of the crowd knew it was Ellsworth, there was a chant before he unmasked, but not super loud.  His unmasking got a big pop and the crowd cheered Carmella’s win.  They were just happy they got a newsworhty event.

A.J. STYLES VS. SHINSUKE NAKAMURA FOR WWE TITLE IN A LAST MAN STANDING MATCH

They had a 31:00 match.  It was actually boring much of the way but the last few minutes were great.  The crowd was probalby the hottest the entire show for last minute or so.  Really nothing happened that was much and all the breaks for the count cost momentum.  Nakamura finally hit a low blow on the floor but Styles got up.  Nakamura gave him a Kinshasa but Styles got up before ten.  Styles gave Nakamura a Styles clash off the ring steps to the floor but Nakamura got up again.  Styles gave him a low blow and on the floor but Nakamura still got up at ten.  Styles did the springboard clothesline to the floor and they both went through a table.  Styles got up before the ten count and Nakamura didn’t.  This would appear to end the program so Styles needs a  new opponent, who could be Samoa Joe.

NIA JAX VS.  RONDA ROUSEY FOR RAW WOMEN’S TITLE

This ended up beign a great deal.  Alexa Bliss interfered and destroyed Rousey and Jax with the briefcase and then hit Jax a few more times with the briefcase and hit twisted Bliss to become champion.  Rousey had Jax in the armbar when Bliss broke it up.  Jax vs. Rousey was real good.  Rousey has an intensity and a face that connects really well.  It was all planned out and such but Rousey really is a natural at this.  Her selling was far better than one would expect, her comebacks looked good.  The match itself was exciting and the whole scenario with the title change was great.  This built up a Rousey vs. Bliss match at some point going forward.

MEN’S MONEY IN THE BANK:  BRAUN STROWMAN, SAMOA JOE, KEVIN OWENS, FINN BALOR, BOBBY ROODE, THE MIZ, RUSEV AND KOFI KINGSTON

Braun Strowman won the contract meaning Raw won both matches.  Finn Balor, Strowman and Kingston were all climbing the ladder.  Kingston was on Strowman’s back.  Strowman threw Balor off the ladder and then flipped Kingston off the ladder nad pulled it down to win.  This was a great match, usual quality of a Money in the Bank match.  Kevin Owens took a crazy bump off about 13 feet of a 15 foot ladder that Strowman threw him off through a table near the stage area.  There were a lot of highlights.  Joe and Strowman both had their elbows cut up.  Joe did an elbow suicida on Strowman.  Balor did a running flip live nad Kingston did a stage dive.  Balor came off the top of a high ladder outside the ring doing a coup de grace on Roode who was in the ring.  They really pushed the idea of Strowman vs. Lesnar here.

We’ll be back in a few hours talking over the show.
