New champions crowned at Impact Saturday TV taping

There are new Impact Wrestling Tag Team Champions.

Bullet Club’s Chris Bey & Ace Austin defeated The Motor City Machine Guns to win the belts at the Impact television tapings held Saturday in Las Vegas.

Austin and Bey challenged Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley to a title match in a backstage promo following No Surrender on Friday night. They teamed with KENTA to defeat MCMG and KUSHIDA on that show.

Yuya Uemura appeared to suffer an injury at the tapings as well. He landed on his head when taking a power bomb from Sami Callihan and their match was stopped early. Uemura needed to be helped to the back. The 28-year-old has been on excursion to Impact from NJPW since August.

Impact Wrestling has been taping in Las Vegas’ Sam’s Town Live since No Surrender Friday night. Full spoilers from Saturday’s tapings are not yet available. Impact presents another set of tapings from the venue on Sunday.

New Impact World Tag Team Champions crowned

The Motor City Machine Guns are once again Impact World Tag Team champions.

The team defeated The North to win the championships for a second time tonight on Impact. The finish came when The North were delivering superkicks to both Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley. Sabin countered with a small package and pinned Page to win the championships.

Sabin & Shelley’s last run with the championships were back in 2010, when they defeated Beer Money to win the titles that were previously vacated by The Band (Eric Young, Kevin Nash & Scott Hall).

The North end their run with the titles after 383 days, when they won the titles from LAX (Ortiz & Santana) at Bash at the Brewery on July 5, 2019.

Sabin & Shelley made their return to the promotion at Slammiversary this past Saturday. They defeated The Rascalz in the opening match as a surprise, then later challenged The North to a Impact Tag Team title match, which was later confirmed.
