Mercedes Mone to challenge for Malaysian indie title

Mercedes Mone is going for more international gold — this time attempting to win a Malaysian indie title.

House of Glory has announced that Mone will face Nor “Phoenix” Diana at the promotion’s Superclash event in Long Island, New York on Saturday, November 15. It’s a title match where Diana is defending the APAC Women’s Championship that she holds in Malaysia.

This is the first time Diana is putting her title on the line in the United States. Billed as the world’s first hijab-wearing wrestler, she was named to Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list for Asia in 2020.

In this match, Mone is attempting to claim her 13th championship belt. She’s been traveling the world on a mission to add gold to her collection, which includes the following:

  • AEW TBS Championship
  • AEW Owen Hart Cup Championship (ceremonial)
  • Interim ROH Women’s TV Championship
  • CMLL Women’s World Championship (Mexico)
  • RevPro Undisputed British Women’s Championship (United Kingdom)
  • Queen of Southside Championship (inactive, unified with RevPro title)
  • EWA Women’s Championship (Austria)
  • Bestya Wrestling Women’s Championship (Italy)
  • Prime Time Wrestling Women’s Championship (Poland)
  • Discovery Wrestling Women’s Championship (Scotland)
  • Bodyslam Women’s Championship (Denmark)
  • Winnipeg Pro Women’s Championship (Canada)

Mone is also set to challenge Kris Statlander for the AEW Women’s World Championship at Full Gear on November 22.

House of Glory Superclash is being held in collaboration with the Big Event Entertainment & Sports Expo convention. Shayna Baszler, Maki Itoh, Killer Kross, Scarlett Bordeaux, Shotzi Blackheart, Priscilla Kelly, Allie Katch, Dezmond Xavier, and Nic Nemeth are among the other talent announced for the show.

Mercedes Mone announced for November indie date

Mercedes Mone has added a new indie date to her November calendar.

The AEW star will be in action for House of Glory in Long Island, New York on Saturday, November 15. An opponent for Mone has not been named yet. The event is titled Superclash and is being held by House of Glory in collaboration with the Big Event Entertainment & Sports Expo convention.

Mone has wrestled for House of Glory once before, defeating Indi Hartwell this March. Hartwell is now the HOG Women’s Champion but has a title defense against Shotzi Blackheart coming up later in November.

Also in November, Mone will be making a trip to Italy for an indie date in Rome. She’ll be defending her Bestya Wrestling Women’s Championship in an open challenge at that November 9 show.

Mone is currently in possession of 12 title belts representing AEW, ROH, CMLL, and a bunch of indie promotions worldwide. She could add more gold to her belt collection when she challenges AEW Women’s World Champion Kris Statlander at Full Gear on November 22.

The House of Glory Superclash show is taking place in Brentwood, New York at Suffolk Credit Union Arena. Shayna Baszler vs. Maki Itoh has already been announced, along with Scarlett Bordeaux & Shotzi vs. Priscilla Kelly & Allie Katch.

Shayna Baszler announced for new indie date

Shayna Baszler is set to compete for indie promotion House of Glory Wrestling next month.

It’s been announced that Baszler will make her House of Glory debut at Superclash on Saturday, November 15. The event is being held in Long Island, New York in collaboration with the Big Event Entertainment and Sports Expo convention. Suffolk Credit Union Arena in Brentwood will be the location for the show.

An opponent for Baszler has not been named yet.

Released by WWE in May, the 45-year-old Baszler is returning to the ring this weekend for her first match in nearly six months. She will face off against Dani Luna at Prestige Wrestling’s show in Portland, Oregon on October 5.

Baszler did make an appearance at WWE NXT’s recent Homecoming special, which took place at Full Sail University and celebrated the history of NXT. Though WWE has hopes of bringing Baszler back in a coaching or producing role, there is nothing in place for that at the moment.

Another former WWE talent — Andrade — will also be making his House of Glory debut at Superclash. He was released from his WWE contract in September.
