Jeff Jarrett lays out Allie Katch, Jonathan Gresham retains ROH title at GCW Say You Will

Jeff Jarrett once again made his presence felt in a GCW ring Saturday, laying out Allie Katch with a guitar shot at GCW Say You Will.

Jarrett made a surprise appearance at the January 1st GCW Die 4 This, nailing Effy with a guitar shot. He was advertised for Saturday’s show, but it was unknown in what capacity he would be appearing.

After Katch (Effy’s tag team partner) had defeated Kylie Rae and was cutting a promo, Jarrett appeared and nailed her with his guitar, dragging her around with the shell afterward. Effy was not on Saturday’s show, but this likely sets up a match between them at next Sunday’s The Wrld on GCW pay-per-view.

Say You Will featured three title matches, headlined by Ring of Honor World Champion Jonathan Gresham retaining the gold over 2 Cold Scorpio. After the match, Blake Christian, Gresham’s challenger next Sunday, came out to shake the champion’s hand. Christian had beat former ROH World Champion Bandido earlier.

Also earlier in the night, Ricky Morton defeated Matt Cardona, preceded by Cardona coming out with the old ECW TV title as he claimed he was the new titleholder after beating Rhino (the final champion) at Friday’s GCW Most Notorious.

Cardona, accompanied by Chelsea Green, then proceeded to throw the title in a trash can and ripped Paul Heyman and WWE in a promo. Morton later picked up the win after a roll-up but was low-blowed by Green before Joey Janela came out for the save. Janela and Cardona go head-to-head next Sunday.

In other action, The Briscoes defended the GCW Tag Team titles against The Rejects (John Wayne Murdoch & Reed Bentley), followed by issuing an open challenge for next Sunday’s pay-per-view.

The night was headlined by a three-way deathmatch honoring the late Markus Crane as Jimmy Lloyd defeated Alex Colon & “Spyder” Nate Webb, now available for free on their YouTube channel.

Here’s the full results from Chicago, Illinois:

– Gringo Loco defeated Nick Wayne, Alex Zayne, Ninja Mack, Dark Sheik and Dante Leon in a six-way scramble
– Tony Deppen defeated “Speedball” Mike Bailey
– Blake Christian defeated Bandido
– Ring of Honor World Champion Jonathan Gresham defeated 2 Cold Scorpio to retain the title
– AJ Gray defeated PCO to win the GCW Extreme Championship
– Ricky Morton defeated Matt Cardona (w/ Chelsea Green)

‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey to make GCW debut at Say You Will

“Speedball” Mike Bailey is on his way to GCW.

The promotion announced today that Bailey will be appearing at four upcoming events, including this Saturday’s Say You Will show in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. He will also appear in Dallas on February 5, and Los Angeles on February 25 and 26.

After a visa issue had kept Bailey from entering the United States for five years, Impact Wrestling executive Scott D’Amore appeared at a Destiny World Wrestling event in Ontario in October 2021 and announced that the company was signing Bailey.

Bailey wrestled on Impact’s Hard to Kill pre-show this past Saturday, winning a four-way over Ace Austin, Chris Bey and Laredo Kid. He also took part in yesterday’s Impact television tapings, facing Jake Something.
