Marty Scurll appears at NWA Into the Fire, confronts Nick Aldis

Marty Scurll appeared at tonight’s NWA Into the Fire PPV.

He appeared at the end of the show, confronting NWA World champion Nick Aldis after he successfully defended the title against James Storm in a 2 out of 3 falls match. The two had a staredown as the show ended.

The feed came back on a few seconds later as Marty Scurll headed to David Marquez and was about to cut a promo when the feed ended for good. It is likely whatever interview Scurll cut tonight will be on a future episode of NWA Power.

Scurll’s contract with Ring of Honor expired on November 30 and is currently a free agent. It’s not currently clear if he intends to re-sign with the promotion, but did appear at their Final Battle event last night, losing in a tag team match with Flip Gordon against Flamita and Bandido.

Scurll has appeared for the NWA before, wrestling Aldis for the NWA World title at the NWA Crockett Cup back in April.

Wade Barrett joins NWA commentary team, updated Into the Fire card

The NWA has announced who will be replacing Jim Cornette on their commentary team.

At the end of tonight’s NWA Power episode, it was revealed that Stu Bennett (formerly known as Wade Barrett in WWE) will be joining the NWA commentary team at Into the Fire. He’ll be calling the pay-per-view with Joe Galli.

This week’s Power was the show’s season one finale, with new episodes set to resume on December 17. It was the last appearance by Cornette, who resigned from the NWA after the offensive comment he made on commentary on the Power episode that aired two weeks ago.

Into the Fire is taking place at GPB Studios in Atlanta on Saturday, December 14 and will be available via Fite TV. Two new title matches have been confirmed for the PPV. New NWA Tag Team Champions The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express will defend their titles against The Wild Cards, while Colt Cabana will defend his National Championship in a triple threat match against Aron Stevens and Ricky Starks.

The build to Nick Aldis and James Storm’s two-out-of-three falls NWA title match continued on tonight’s Power. It was set up that Aldis and Storm could each choose a referee for one of the falls. Storm chose Brian Hebner, while Aldis chose former NWA World Champion Tim Storm. Aldis also said that his manager Kamille would have the night off at Into the Fire.
