Wednesday night’s episode of AEW Dynamite averaged 874,000 viewers on TBS, up 3.3 percent from last week. It’s the second lowest audience for the show since July 12.
Dynamite topped the cable charts with a 0.32 rating in the 18-49 demo. That’s up 10.3 percent from last week and is the highest rating for the show since July 19 and second highest since June 21.
As compared to the same week in 2022, Dynamite’s overall viewership was down 8.7 percent while the 18-49 rating was up 6.7 percent, so the audience is skewing younger this year. It’s the fourth week over the last 10 that the show has had a year over year increase after a 25 week stretch of declines in the key demo.
Listed below are the last 11 weeks of overall viewership and 18-49 demo ratings for AEW Dynamite on TBS as well as the 10 week average in both categories. This week’s show was up 0.3 percent in overall viewers and 6.7 percent in 18-49 as compared to the recent averages.
A new match has been announced for this week’s AEW Dynamite Fight for the Fallen.
Returning to AEW action for the first time since last month’s Blood & Guts match, Sammy Guevara of the Jericho Appreciation Society will face Dante Martin on Wednesday’s show. AEW president Tony Khan announced the match on Twitter on Tuesday.
Guevara vs. Martin joins three title matches, plus the return of Bryan Danielson for the first time since Double or Nothing in Wednesday’s Fight for the Fallen lineup. A two-on-one match, and a Jungle Boy promo have also been advertised.
Here is what has been announced for this week’s Dynamite:
Interim AEW World Championship: Jon Moxley (c) vs. Rush
AEW Women’s World Championship: Thunder Rosa (c) vs. Miyu Yamashita
FTW Championship: Ricky Starks (c) vs. Danhausen
Bryan Danielson vs. Daniel Garcia
Sammy Guevara (w/Tay Conti) vs. Dante Martin
Swerve Strickland vs. Tony Nese & “Smart” Mark Sterling – Keith Lee banned from ringside
After a two-month absence, Bryan Danielson has been cleared to return to the ring.
During an AEW panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday night, Danielson announced that he’s been cleared to return to in-ring action as of this morning. Danielson revealed that he’ll be facing Daniel Garcia on Wednesday’s Fight for the Fallen edition of Dynamite.
Danielson hasn’t wrestled since suffering what’s believed to have been a concussion during the Anarchy in the Arena match at May’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view.
Danielson’s injury kept him from competing at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. It also prevented Danielson from being part of this year’s Blood & Guts match.
Danielson was supposed to face NJPW’s Zack Sabre Jr. at the Forbidden Door PPV. The debuting Claudio Castagnoli took Danielson’s place at the PPV and defeated Sabre.
Prior to Chris Jericho and Eddie Kingston’s barbed wire everywhere match this past Wednesday, Danielson sent out a tweet saying that he’s coming after both Jericho and Kingston when he’s able to wrestle again.
“One of these men takes credit for injuring me and the other one is the man I actually blame for it,” Danielson tweeted. “Excited to see them destroy each other… and when I get back I’ll kick both their heads in.”
Garcia is a member of the Jericho Appreciation Society. Garcia unsuccessfully challenged Danielson’s Blackpool Combat Club stablemate Wheeler Yuta for the ROH Pure Championship at Death Before Dishonor on Saturday.
The DCU Center in Worcester, Massachusetts is hosting Wednesday’s Dynamite. The updated card for the episode is listed below:
Interim AEW World Champion Jon Moxley defends against Rush

A pair of title matches have been announced for next week’s AEW Dynamite Fight for the Fallen episode.
Thunder Rosa will defend the AEW Women’s World Championship against Tokyo Joshi Pro-Wrestling’s Miyu Yamashita next week. Yamashita defeated Rosa on July 9 in Tokyo in a match that aired on the July 12 AEW Dark episode.
Also set for next week, Ricky Starks will defend the FTW Championship against Danhausen. The match was set up after Starks defended the FTW title against Cole Karter on this week’s Dynamite. Starks issued an open challenge, and Danhausen accepted.
More matches for Dynamite will be announced on Saturday during the Ring of Honor Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view.
Night one of Fight for the Fallen will be held in Worcester, Massachusetts at the DCU Center on Wednesday, July 27. Here is the lineup to this point:
