WWE NXT wrestler Elio LeFleur undergoes surgery

NXT wrestler Elio LeFleur has undergone surgery for the injury that forced him to vacate the men’s Speed Championship.

Last week, it was revealed that LeFleur would be out of action for six months due to torn labrum ligaments in his shoulder. The injury stems from an NXT house show that took place on March 20. After an injury angle was done, LeFleur appeared with his arm in a sling on NXT last Tuesday and announced that he was vacating the Speed Championship.

LeFleur then made a tweet today revealing that he will be starting the recovery process after undergoing successful surgery.

Formerly known as Aigle Blanc on the indies, LeFleur signed with WWE in 2025 and had his first televised match for the company in Lucha Libre AAA. He then officially joined the NXT TV roster this year. LeFleur became Speed Champion by defeating Jasper Troy and Eli Knight in a triple threat match this February.

WWE will be holding a tournament to crown the new men’s Speed Champion. It kicks off tonight on the Stand & Deliver fallout edition of NXT.

Speed Championship tournament part of next week’s WWE NXT lineup

Following an eventful March 31st episode of WWE NXT and a star-studded Stand & Deliver card, WWE has already announced next week’s NXT lineup.

WWE NXT is steadily heading towards the Stand & Deliver PLE on April 4th in St. Louis, Missouri. With that lineup almost fixed, a few additions have been made to the post-Stand & Deliver edition of the April 7th edition of NXT.

Next week’s NXT episode will feature the beginning of a tournament to crown a new Men’s Speed Champion. Former champion Elio LeFleur recently suffered a shoulder injury and has now been sidelined for a span of six months.

The lineup will also feature a triple threat between Keanu Carver, Jasper Troy, and Josh Briggs. Briggs, who served as the special guest referee for the Carver vs. Troy match, ultimately cost Troy the match.

Elio LeFleur out six months due to injury, WWE Speed title vacated

Elio LeFleur will be out for a while.

On Tuesday’s NXT, Elio LeFleur was seen wearing a sling and announced that he had torn labrum ligaments in his shoulder. As a result, he had to vacate the NXT Speed Championship. He additionally announced that a tournament would start on next week’s show to crown a new champion and encouraged Eli Knight, who was sitting next to him, to enter the tournament and challenge for the title.

During a NXT house show that took place on March 20, both LeFleur and Lexis King were injured while competing in a tag team match. LeFleur was said to be in a sling in the days following the house show, while King was eventually cleared.

On the March 24 episode of NXT, LeFleur and Knight were seen laid out backstage just prior to their match against Shawn Spears and Niko Vance, where the winners would have advanced to the finals of a number one contender’s tournament. Los Americanos ended up taking their spot and ended up winning the tournament on Tuesday, defeating Birthright. They will now challenge Vanity Project for the NXT Tag Team titles at Stand & Deliver.

Report: Injury updates on Elio LeFleur and Lexis King

Latest reports have emerged about Elio LeFleur and Lexis King’s injury status.

Over the weekend at the March 20 NXT house show, WWE Men’s Speed Champion Elio LeFluer suffered an arm injury while competing in a tag team match. While King got “banged up” by a knee to his head, although King was later noted to be feeling better.

Fightful Select recently noted that sources close to LeFleur believed that he did suffer an arm injury at the live house show and has been in a sling due to it. Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer also opened up and covered these NXT injuries on Sunday’s episode of Wrestling Observer Radio.

On the March 24 episode of NXT, LeFluer and Eli Knight were ambushed ahead of their scheduled tag team match and later replaced by Bravo and Rayo Americano. On the same episode, while Birthright’s Charlie Dempsey was in action, Vic Joseph on commentary shared an update on King. Joseph revealed that King was not cleared to compete in in-ring action.

There are currently no confirmed updates on LeFleur and King’s in-ring returns.

Elio LeFleur wins men’s Speed title on WWE NXT

Elio LeFleur has won his first title in WWE.

The French NXT competitor defeated Jasper Troy and Eli Knight in a three-way match on Tuesday to win the men’s Speed Championship. The end of the bout had LeFleur hit his finish on Troy as Knight followed through with a moonsault. As Knight attempted to recover, LeFleur swooped in and pinned Troy to become champion with less than 90 seconds to go.

Troy had been champion since October, defeating El Grande Americano to become the first NXT wrestler to win the title. In the most recent tournament, Knight and LeFleur both won their opening round matches but reached a time limit draw in the finals. Interim GM Robert Stone then came out and announced that he would make the upcoming championship match a triple threat, and instead of the normal five minute time limit the three wrestlers would get seven minutes instead.

This is the first of two title changes to take place as of this writing. The show opened with The Vanity Project (Ricky Smokes & Brad Baylor) defeating DarkState to win the NXT Tag Team titles.

WWE NXT notes: Speed tournament, Daria Rae, Uriah Connors

Notes from Tuesday’s NXT.

A new tournament started on this week’s show to crown the next number one contender for Jasper Troy’s Speed Championship. Elio LeFleur was the first to advance to the finals, defeating Charlie Dempsey. He will challenge the winner between Josh Briggs and Eli Knight in a match that will take place next week.

Daria Rae, the former Sonya Deville, was shown in the crowd during the TNA Knockouts Tag Team title match between ZaRuca and The Elegance Brand. After Heather & M by Elegance retained the titles, she emerged from the back and celebrated with the champions.

Since the AMC premiere of TNA Impact last month, Rae has joined the promotion as a new authority figure that has already created friction between herself and Santino Marella, the long-running Director of Authority.

After Chase U were unsuccessful against Lexis King and Stacks, Uriah Connors seemed to turn against Kale Dixon and Andre Chase by abandoning them and walking to the back with Stacks and King, who have formed an alliance in recent weeks. Tension had been bulilding between Connors and the rest of Chase U, as Connors had been looking for more opportunites.

Vignette airs for Elio LeFleur during WWE NXT New Year’s Evil

WWE vignette aired during WWE NXT New Year’s Evil officially announced the arrival of a brand new talent to the promotion. 26-year-old French wrestler Elio LeFleur, real name Cyril Coquerelle, was introduced as NXT’s brand new addition.

Formerly known as Aigle Blanc, the masked wrestler is known for wrestling all over the world, including several critically acclaimed matches across Europe and AJPW. The released vignette features LeFleur introducing himself, his goals, and his motive to “slash the sky.”

Putting in more than 10 years of work, I have been proving my value in more than 20 countries since I was 16 years old. I’ve helped put French wrestling on the map, and my goal is to continue building on the momentum,” LeFleur added as the vignette continued showing footage from his recent match at Lucha Libre AAA. “The White Eagle is ready to take the flight from Paris, France, to the United States. The French luchador Elio LeFleur is coming to NXT. And, I am here to slash the sky.”

Last year, in September 2025, Fightful Select reported LeFleur would be reporting to the WWE Performance Center, following which he soon made his WWE in-ring debut at an NXT house show in November 2025.

He was also a part of the Lucha Libre AAA World Wide AAA World Cruiserweight Title #1 Contender match at AAA Alianzas in November 2025. LeFleur’s latest match dates back to December 20th, 2025, at an NXT live house show, where he teamed up with Mike Garcia to face Harley Riggins & Jax Presley.

WWE announces three new signings, recent recruit gets NXT name

WWE has officially confirmed the addition of three new Performance Center recruits.

It was announced today that Meghan Walker, Cyrus Habibi-Likio, and Jessica Bogdanov have signed with WWE and joined the Performance Center. All three attended WWE’s SummerSlam week tryouts a few months back and were recently reported to have signed WWE deals.

Walker, a track star at the University of Nebraska, was signed to the WWE NIL program before now joining the company full time. Habibi-Likio is a former college football player who played running back at Boise State, while Bogdanov is of Russian heritage and is an accomplished gymnast.

In addition to this announcement, some news emerged today regarding another recent WWE addition. French wrestler Aigle Blanc — who reported to the Performance Center last month — looks like he’ll be using “Elio Lefleur” as his NXT name. He’s listed under that name for a triple threat match against Jack Cartwheel and Chris Carter at Lucha Libre AAA’s November 28 TV taping in Puebla, Mexico. The winner earns a shot at the AAA Cruiserweight title.

Blanc (real name Cyril Coquerelle) competed across Europe and in Japan before signing with WWE.
