Ariya Daivari to make AEW debut against Dante Martin on Rampage

A former WWE cruiserweight is set to make their AEW debut on Rampage tonight.

AEW has announced that Ariya Daivari will make his debut for the promotion as he faces Dante Martin on tonight’s Rampage. The show is taking place at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Both wrestlers are from the Minneapolis/Saint Paul region.

Daivari was released by WWE during a round of roster cuts this June. He regularly appeared on 205 Live as a member of the cruiserweight division in WWE.

Martin & Lio Rush defeated Matt Sydal & Lee Moriarty on this week’s Dynamite. Due to the death of his grandmother, Rush won’t be with Martin on Rampage tonight. Rush learned of his grandmother’s passing on Tuesday night and dedicated his match on Dynamite to her.

Tony Khan tweeted about Martin vs. Daivari: “On #AEWRampage: hometown heroes clash TONIGHT as @AriyaDaivari debuts in @AEW vs. @lucha_angel1 Dante Martin, a battle of 2 of the Twin Cities’ top high flyers! Dante is without partner/coach #LioRush (@TheLionelGreen), who is home tonight after the tragic loss of his grandmother”

Tonight’s Rampage is the go-home show for Full Gear.

Here’s the updated lineup for Rampage:

  • Jungle Boy vs. Bobby Fish
  • Lumberjack match: Orange Cassidy vs. Matt Hardy
  • Jade Cargill vs. Santana Garrett
  • Dante Martin vs. Ariya Daivari

Britt Baker vs. Abadon Trick or Treat match set for AEW Rampage

A Trick or Treat match will take place on Rampage this Friday.

It was announced that Britt Baker would take on Abadon on Rampage. In a backstage promo, Tony Schiavone mentioned that the Trick or Treat match is essentially a no disqualification match, and if Abadon were to win, she would get a future shot at the AEW Women’s title. Baker said in response that she had a few tricks of her own.

Although it was announced last week that Dante Martin and Lio Rush would face the Sydal Brothers, a segment on Dynamite revealed that the match had been changed to a singles match between Matt Sydal and Martin due to Mike Sydal suffering from an injury. Rush told Martin that he cares about teaching him about the business.

In addition to the two matches, another AEW World Title Eliminator tournament match will take place, with Bryan Danielson facing Eddie Kingston in a semifinal match. The other semifinal match between Orange Cassidy and Jon Moxley will take place on next week’s Dynamite.

Lio Rush & Dante Martin vs. Sydal Bros set for AEW Rampage

Two matches have been announced for the Friday, October 29 episode of AEW Rampage.

Lio Rush and Dante Martin will team against Matt Sydal and Mike Sydal. Rush has been acting as a mouthpiece for Martin in backstage segments on AEW programming. On Saturday’s Dynamite, Rush said that Martin is a big money player, so he had gone to AEW GM Tony Khan to make a match for Rampage against the Sydals.

Also set for Rampage is a semifinal match in the AEW World title eliminator tournament.

Bryan Danielson will take on Eddie Kingston. Danielson defeated Dustin Rhodes on Dynamite to advance in the tournament. Later in the show, Kingston defeated Lance Archer to advance.

The October 29 Rampage episode will be taped on Wednesday, October 27 at the Agganis Arena in Boston.

Here is the announced lineup:

  • AEW World title eliminator tournament semifinals: Bryan Danielson vs. Eddie Kingston
  • Lio Rush & Dante Martin vs. Matt Sydal & Mike Sydal

Danielson vs. Fish, AAA tag title match added to AEW Dynamite

Three new matches have been added to next week’s AEW Dynamite.

Bryan Danielson will face Bobby Fish in a singles match. Fish made his AEW debut on this week’s show, losing to Sammy Guevara in a match that was for the TNT Championship. AEW confirmed his signing after the show.

The AAA Tag Team titles will also be on the line. Pentagon and Rey Fenix, who also hold the AEW World Tag Team titles, will defend the AAA titles against a mystery masked team who are Andrade el Idolo’s close friends. In a backstage promo that aired last week on Dynamite, Idolo issued the challenge, saying he was going to bring in two men to challenge the Lucha Bros..

The match between Dante Martin and Malakai Black has also been made official. On this week’s Dynamite, Martin had asked for competition, with Black appearing and taking Martin out, saying he accepted his challenge.

AEW will also reveal the brackets for their upcoming World Title Eliminator tournament, with the winner getting an AEW World Championship match. The finals will take place at Full Gear.

Dynamite will not air this Wednesday due to NHL coverage. Instead, it will air live on Saturday, October 16 at the James L. Knight Center in Miami, Florida.

A second trios match has been added to AEW Dynamite.

The company announced this afternoon that Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks will take on the team of Dante Martin, Matt Sydal, and Mike Sydal.

Both AEW World Champion Omega and AEW World Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks no longer have challengers for either of their titles after they won an elimination match two weeks ago on Dynamite. Dante Martin will face Matt Sydal in a singles match. This is a rematch from an episode of AEW Dark from earlier this month, where Sydal defeated Martin. Martin has been in singles action as his brother and tag team partner, Darius Martin, recovers from an ACL injury. His most recent high-profile match took place last month when he lost a TNT title match to Miro.

Kris Statlander, meanwhile, will face The Bunny in a singles match. Orange Cassidy will be in Statlander’s corner, while The Blade will be in Bunny’s.
