Cody Rhodes part of new additions to WWE SmackDown lineup

Reigning WWE Champion Cody Rhodes will make his presence felt on Friday’s WWE SmackDown from St. Louis.

Rhodes’ addition to the show was announced Thursday, a day after WrestleMania 42 title challenger Randy Orton revealed the mystery man he has been talking to on the phone will also be in attendance. Orton recently turned on Rhodes in the lead-up to their title match in just a few weeks time.

Rhea Ripley will also be in attendance following the second straight attack last week by WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill, Michin and B-Fab as the build to their WrestleMania 42 match continues.

Jacob Fatu and Drew McIntyre are also expected for the show based on the WWE.com preview.

Lil Yachty will also likely make an appearance after Trick Williams invited him to the show this week amid rumors he and WWE have signed a deal to do something in the ring.

As of now, no matches have been announced.

Drew McIntyre WWE
Drew McIntyre makes his WWE entrance.

WWE

  • Cody Rhodes is featured on the cover of the March/April 2026 edition of Cigar Aficionado magazine. He discussed how pro wrestling is a much healthier place financially than it used to be:
    • I’m blessed that it’s so much healthier now, in a sense…Everyone’s getting paid more than wrestlers were ever getting paid, which means you can take care of yourself more than every wrestler ever. You can have that great nutritionist, have that great trainer.
  • On The Nikki & Brie Show, Rhodes said there are three episodes of his “What Do You Wanna Talk About?” podcast that will never be released because he was too drunk during the recording. They include interviews he conducted with Alexa Bliss and Big E:
    • I will apologize now. I’ve said this, so I’ll make no secret of it. I will apologize to Alexa Bliss, Big E, I’m not going to name the other one because she’ll go ham with it. But three of these episodes will never make it because of how deep those pours were.
    • It’s never their fault, it’s always my fault. I already have a lisp. So if you’re starting out that way and then you watch it, like, ‘I thought it was okay.’ It’s rough, it’s rough. So I wanted those to be better for them.
  • Drew McIntyre – who recently mourned the death of his cat Chaz – told Insight with Chris Van Vliet that he’ll never use the passing of CM Punk’s dog Larry as a way to get heat:
    • There’s one thing I never make fun of Punk for. When Larry was gone, my heart broke for him and AJ. Because those little guys are just full of love and nothing else.
  • Jacob Fatu and AEW’s Swerve Strickland were among those in attendance at this week’s training session at Nattie & TJ Wilson’s Dungeon. Nattie wrote about the four-hour practice:
    • Tonight was so fun! Another incredible week of work in The Dungeon. A four hour practice with 30 of my friends- pouring their heart, soul and SWEAT onto the mat. Energy matching energy. So proud of this group!
  • At Raw on Monday, Roman Reigns granted a Make-A-Wish by meeting a 12-year-old fan named Javion.

  • Thunder Rosa had high praise for Persephone while speaking with The Takedown on SI:
    • I’m just excited, I’m just excited for her present and for her future. That woman has worked her ass off and from many, many women that I’ve seen that came through Mission Pro, she was one of the ones who worked from the ground up to have the opportunities that she has in Mexico and in the United States.
    • And she hasn’t taken shortcuts, she keeps growing, she keeps learning and the one thing I love about her, she stays humble and she’s super professional. Something that I think is important in professional wrestling is to be professional and she’s one of those and I have so much respect for her.
  • Rosa added that she’s looking forward to an eventual match against Persephone:
    • And when the time comes for us to do this, I think it’s gonna be a banger because she’s mouthy, I’m mouthy, We have really good energy, we’re both from the border. She’s from El Paso, I’m from Tijuana, you know, so we both know what’s up.
    • Like I was saying earlier, if you were born in a border town, if you can make it there, you can make it anywhere. And as you can see, she was born in El Paso, she made it. I was born in Tijuana, I made it, so I know we can really, really do something amazing for everyone.
  • Shop AEW released a new Chris Jericho T-shirt and hoodie following his return.
  • Black Girl Wrestling interviewed Willow Nightingale.
  • After Taiji Ishimori & Robbie X retained the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team titles today, they were confronted by Kosei Fujita, who issued a challenge on behalf of himself and Robbie Eagles.
  • The Sportster interviewed TNA World Champion Mike Santana.
  • Santana acknowledged yesterday being the two-year anniversary of his AEW departure:
    • 2 years ago today, I was granted my release. I put a plan together for myself and began to execute. It was the best thing I did for my life and career.
    • Idgaf how long it was going to take but I knew I was going to get sh*t done! I’ve sacrificed too much and after everything I went thru the last few years, I had a fire burning inside that I wasn’t going to let anything extinguish. But above all, my daughter gotta eat! And that she will, by any means!
    • 2 years later, it’s amazing to see what I’ve been able to accomplish. It’s been such an amazing ride and to think that this is just the beginning, is so exciting.
    • Follow your heart. That sh*t never lies.
  • Lance Storm looked back on his last-ever match, which was against Matt Hardy on this day in 2016:

‘Street Fighter’ actor praises Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns’ performances

Actor David Dastmalchian feels Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes’ performances in Street Fighter are a central highlight of the film.

The actor told Soundsphere that Reigns and Rhodes’ contributions to the film adaptation will certainly leave an impressionable mark on viewers.

“You can definitely tell everybody that I said that Cody Rhodes’ performance as Guile is going to be one of the highlights of Street Fighter,” he says. “And when everyone sees what Roman Reigns did as well, they’re going to freak out. It’s a great film. It’s really exciting.”

Dastmalchian portrays M.Bison, an antagonist in the Street Fighter video game series. Rhodes and Reigns were cast as Guile and Akuma, respectively.

Filming for Street Fighter began in 2025 with a star-studded cast extending beyond Hollywood. The live-adaptation of the iconic video game is being directed by Kitao Sakurai.

This isn’t the first time the game is being brought to the silver screen. In 1994, a Street Fighter film was released featuring Jean-Claude Van Damme, Raul Julia, Damian Chapa & more.

Last year around August, Rhodes was reportedly written off WWE TV during his feud with Drew McIntyre, to film for Street Fighter.

Reigns and Rhodes’ complex WWE history intertwined with the filming. Rhodes cited that he barely had any interaction with his former WrestleMania rival on set to which Reigns responded it was out of nervousness.

Street Fighter is set for release on October 16, 2026.

Ricky Saints explains viral WWE photo with other former AEW stars

Ricky Saints addressed the intention behind the Saturday Night’s Main Event XLI photo in November 2025. He was photographed with Jade Cargill, CM Punk and Cody Rhodes backstage, all who happened to be formerly associated with AEW.

In an interview with the New York Post, Saints reflected on the photo with the WWE champions. He cited there was no malicious intent towards his former promotion. He attended the show to watch Cargill’s match from backstage, and the others happened to be around while he was taking promo photos with his NXT Championship.

“That picture was not based on us wanting to prove a point or anything. I was there to see Jade (Cargill) have her match and it just happened that I saw Punk. It was all just circumstance. It wasn’t like a deliberate thing and Punk wanted a picture, so I said, ‘Hey, why not?’ I was there with my (NXT) title because I was also taking promo pictures. It just worked out. There was no ill will about it. We all know each other, we all like each other, and it was a cool moment. Look at us, we’re all champions right now. Whatever agenda people want to apply to it is up to them. I doubt anyone really cared over there (in AEW) or over here.”

At SNME XLI, Punk defeated Jey Uso for the World Heavyweight Title while Cargill captured the WWE Women’s Title from Tiffany Stratton.

Rhodes defended his Undisputed WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre in a singles match. There was an added stipulation that if Rhodes was disqualified or counted out, he would lose the title.

Saints has often praised Rhodes for being an impactful figure in his life and career.

Saints made his WWE debut on NXT in February 2025 after nearly five years with AEW. He won the NXT Championship in September, a title he held for around 70 days before Oba Femi dethroned him.

Cody Rhodes: ‘No one’s been even close’ to guessing reason for AEW departure

It’s been four years since Cody Rhodes left AEW — and he says fans still do not know the actual reason for his departure.

Cody and Brandi Rhodes announced that they were leaving AEW in February 2022. Soon after, Cody made his WWE return at WrestleMania 38. He’s now heading into his fourth consecutive WrestleMania main event with Cody set to defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against Randy Orton next month.

During a media tour in New York City, Cody made an appearance on The Breakfast Club and was asked about a previous comment he made where he credited his wife Brandi for making the “selfless” decision to not talk about why they left AEW. Cody believes that approach has helped both of them move forward. But fans inevitably create narratives when they do not know the reason for something.

“Our departure from when we left the company we were with and helped create, and that was AEW, it came down to her deciding to not talk about it, that departure,” Cody said. “Like, ‘We’re not going to talk about it. We’re moving on. Did bad stuff happen? Good stuff happened too. I’m not going to talk about it.’

“And one of the sad things about not talking about why we left and the departure, one of the difficult things was narratives get created. Stories get told, podcasts happen, fans literally think they know what happened when no one’s been even close. And what I would say is the selfless part, she lives with that. She owns that. She respects not just here, but the place we left enough to, ‘I’m not going to talk about that.’ And that made it so that — they’re good. They’re out of here. That was very, very helpful for us. And again, good stuff happened there too. But that’s what I mean by selfless, because she lives with that.”

Cody said there is no “breadwinner” in their household because he and Brandi built everything together and their pursuits are equally important. At the moment, they are doing their own thing career-wise, but Cody was happy that Brandi got to see how much fans supported her when she was part of his WrestleMania 40 entrance.

Though he has been mostly quiet about the reason for his AEW departure, Cody has said there was a personal issue involved and that he felt “disrespected” at the end of his time there. Despite that, Cody still has love and respect for AEW and is rooting for the promotion to succeed.

Tony Khan only has good things to say about Cody, and the two have had positive interactions when they’ve seen each other in the time since Cody left AEW.

Cody is now a three-time Undisputed WWE Champion. His title defense against Orton is expected to headline night one of WrestleMania 42 on Saturday, April 18.

Stephanie McMahon makes surprise WWE Raw appearance

Stephanie McMahon gave Cody Rhodes some tough love ahead of WrestleMania 42.

McMahon made a rare televised appearance on Raw during tonight’s show at MSG and confronted Rhodes about his upcoming title match against Randy Orton. She gave the WWE Champion some words to think about, telling him he needed to think like Orton in order to defeat him.

During her promo, McMahon said she and Rhodes were alike, growing up in the business, and while he thinks he can bring out the best version of people, Rhodes can’t with this version of Randy Orton. She said that Rhodes to think like Orton in order to succeed at WrestleMania, saying Rhodes’ father Dusty knew that better than anybody, but Cody is not his father.

Rhodes said he knows what Orton was capable of, noting he’s done terrible things to people and knew some if it was to Stephanie herself. He said he was not the student in this situation and Orton is not the teacher, and knew he was not his father.

“With all due respect, you’re not yours either,” Rhodes retorted, causing McMahon to respond with a slap.

McMahon said she was trying to help Rhodes and wasn’t recognizing what Orton is capable of. McMahon said that Orton wasn’t just hearing the voices in his head, he’s beckoning them and is listening to someone else as well. She declared that unless he can think like Orton, he’ll lose the title.

Rhodes closed the promo by saying two words to McMahon….”thank you.”

Cody Rhodes believes Kit Wilson could become next breakout WWE star

Cody Rhodes believes Kit Wilson has the potential to be one of WWE’s next breakout singles stars.

While speaking with Adam Glyn during a media tour in New York City, Rhodes was asked to name who he thinks will be WWE’s next huge star. Rhodes pointed to some of the obvious options before then listing Wilson among the names. Rhodes can see how much Wilson wants to succeed, and that’s a quality that matters a lot to Rhodes.

“I think this one’s fairly obvious, I’ve talked about Trick [Williams] there and Je’Von [Evans] is on his way,” Rhodes said. “Bron Breakker’s on his way. Oba [Femi], Oba is definitely — that’s a safe bet. And then I’ll say somebody who you can tell wants it, and ‘wants it’ really matters to me, and I think might make it: Kit Wilson.”

With his Pretty Deadly tag team partner Elton Prince sidelined due to a neck injury, Wilson has made the most of his singles opportunity, gaining fan support with the help of his viral theme music. Wilson is coming off a loss to music star Jelly Roll on SmackDown last week.

Rhodes also gave a surprising answer when Glyn asked about the strongest wrestler he’s ever faced. Outside of easy answers like Mark Henry and Big Show, Rhodes pointed to Logan Paul as one of the strongest pound-for-pound opponents he’s shared the ring with.

“Seth [Rollins] is incredibly strong, pound-for-pound. Bron Breakker is incredibly strong,” Rhodes said. “And, man, I’ll give you an answer — very strong, I mean, athlete to athlete, a stud, a thoroughbred, I hate saying this, it’s Logan Paul. He’s an athlete, yeah.”

Rhodes is now just a few weeks away from defending his Undisputed WWE Championship against Randy Orton at WrestleMania 42. That bout is expected to headline night one of the show on Saturday, April 18.

Cody Rhodes comments on high-priced WWE bus tour: ‘An absurd amount of money’

Cody Rhodes hopes to give fans their money’s worth during his upcoming WrestleMania 42 bus tour.

For the cost of $9,950 per person, WWE and On Location offered fans the chance to purchase an exclusive behind-the-scenes bus tour with Rhodes during WrestleMania 42 weekend. The astronomical price point drew a lot of attention on social media. But, despite any criticism that was levied, it has sold out of the very limited spots that were made available.

Rhodes appeared on Busted Open Radio today and, while admitting that it’s an “absurd” amount of money, said he’s honored that fans would pay this much to meet him. He plans on making it a special experience for everyone on the tour.

“We did this tour last year very quietly. And it’s just a sweet On Location deal for the people that want a little bit of that extra moment. What I did last year was very fun, they got to see my WrestleMania gear in advance and we got to talk WrestleMania,” Rhodes said.

“I’ve got a good plan for them this year, because like you said, that’s an absurd amount of money. And, gosh, thanks for — the fact that people are out there paying that, that makes me feel incredible. So I want them to definitely feel like they got a unique and cool experience and something intimate for us. Because when you get those moments with your fans where you can sit down across from them and actually get to know them — two of the guys that were on the bus tour last year are actually coming on my podcast. I wanted to bring a fan onto the podcast to see what that experience was like. We’ve stayed in touch. So I look forward to a whole new motley crew on the bus this year. And thank you for doing that.”

WWE and On Location have been partners since 2022. With WWE and the other sports leagues it works with, On Location offers premium ticket packages and experiences for fans willing to shell out high-dollar amounts to attend big events.

An On Location offering for May’s Clash in Italy PLE has also gotten attention on social media. With a price tag of $11,500 per person, fans can purchase a ticket package that includes a private pasta making session with a WWE star and reserved seating at a wine tasting that WWE wrestlers will be appearing at. That package does also include a front row seat to the PLE itself.

Rhodes is defending his Undisputed WWE Championship against Randy Orton at WrestleMania 42. On Busted Open, he discussed not being bothered by fans cheering for Orton over him in their feud.

Cody Rhodes reacts to WWE crowds cheering Randy Orton over him

Cody Rhodes isn’t bothered by WWE crowds cheering for Randy Orton over him in their WrestleMania feud.

The Undisputed WWE Championship will be on the line when Rhodes and Orton face off at WrestleMania 42. During the build to the match, Orton has turned heel and launched attacks on Rhodes, Matt Cardona, and even country music star Jelly Roll. The heel turn hasn’t exactly taken with fans, though, with them happy to see Orton return to his more aggressive persona.

Rhodes appeared on Busted Open Radio this morning and opened up about how the fans have been reacting.

“I don’t take it personally. I think maybe when I was younger I did. And certainly there’s no absolute in that, I’m sure some things kind of slip through the armor a bit and you feel it,” Rhodes said. “But my thought in terms of fans, today, more than ever, is that we are out there and whatever their emotional need is, if they need to cheer for you, if they need to cheer for him, if they need to yell at you — I can’t put a governor on that, and I will not. Tully Blanchard rules in terms of for me when he’d say, ‘The loudest, the longest [reaction].’

“I can’t be angry at them, whatever it is they need. If they’re cheering for Randy as he seeks [World title reign number] 15 even with the things he did, okay. I’m not there to try and tell you you’re wrong or right. There’s no wrong way to be a fan. So right now it hasn’t got to me. I’ll be honest, sometimes maybe it will. But right now? No.”

The Rhodes vs. Orton match is expected to headline WrestleMania 42 night one on Saturday, April 18. Rhodes told Busted Open that, despite all the history they have together, the matchup feels “very first-time” given how different he and Orton are now. Rhodes is looking to show Orton how much he’s leveled up as a wrestler since they were in Legacy together.

Randy Orton RKOs Jelly Roll on WWE SmackDown

Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes’ story towards WrestleMania continued on Friday, with Jelly Roll caught in the line of fire.

Orton defeated Matt Cardona on SmackDown after Cardona challenged him to a match earlier in the night. Right after Orton won, however, Rhodes pulled up to the arena on his tour bus and started to make his way to the ring as the two quickly got into a brawl. Security and other WWE officials came to the ring to try and maintain order but repeatedly failed as both Rhodes and Orton frequently broke free attacking one another.

The two eventually were separated on opposite corners of the ring as Jelly Roll, who defeated Kit Wilson earlier in the night, came out in an attempt to bring the temperature down. Orton broke free yet again and this time set his ire towards Jelly Roll, laying him out with an RKO. Orton then exited the ring smiling as the show closed.

Orton took out Rhodes two weeks ago, turning against his former friend and left him a bloody mess. He later explained that when Rhodes told him to be the best version of himself for WrestleMania, that allowed Orton to let the voices in his head guide him. Despite pleas from Jelly Roll to try and make things right, Orton continued his rampage on last week’s show by taking out Cardona.

However, another person seems to be guiding Orton in recent weeks as the multi-time WWE Champion has been seen talking on the phone with someone. Prior to the main event segment on Friday, Orton told the person on the other line that he’d see them soon.

Roman Reigns responds to Cody Rhodes’ ‘Street Fighter’ set claims

Previously, Cody Rhodes opened up and recalled his “strange relationship” and awkward interaction with Roman Reigns on the set of ‘Street Fighter,’ and Reigns has now responded.

Speaking to Adam Glyn, Reigns was asked about Rhodes’ claims that they were kept apart on the sets of ‘Street Fighter.’

The rumor is, he was requesting that. He was a little nervous that I was showing up. He got there before me, and there was only a couple days of crossover,” Reigns said. “I think he was a little (nervous). You know what it is. The Tribal Chief comes to town, and he gets a little nervous. He doesn’t know what to do.”

‘Street Fighter’ is set to release in October 2026 and will star both Reigns and Rhodes as Akuma and Guile.

Reigns and Rhodes share a complicated history. From their early days feuding to recent back-to-back WrestleMania 39 and 40 main events against each other, the duo even proceeded to tag along at Bad Blood 2024.

Cody Rhodes supports Matt Cardona’s pursuit of WWE World title dream

Cody Rhodes is rooting for Matt Cardona to accomplish a longstanding goal of winning a WWE or World Championship someday.

Rhodes was quick to point out Cardona’s ambition of winning the WWE Championship during their interaction in the latest episode of his ‘What do you wanna talk about? Podcast’. He voiced his support for Cardona to eventually capture the WWE or World Title and said he would hold him to that dream becoming reality.

“There’s something you brought up and I didn’t want to be mushy, if that’s the word, I didn’t want to be emotional but you brought up something. You said you came back to be WWE Champion and like I think it’s okay we got the cameras here to tell you, I hope that happens but also as your friend I’d like to hold you to it cause you were very much of a ‘hold me to it’, and you were a very celebratory person in terms of, I would do something and I knew it was ‘this is big’. I’d go ‘I just beat Brock Lesnar in Puerto Rico’ like ‘this is big.’ And I remember you telling me, you’re always just there for it. So, I’d hope to hold you to it and I hope that happens – a World Championship,  WWE Championship or World Championship or within WWE, I think the flagship of these shows.”

Later in the interview, Rhodes asked Cardona stars he would consider essential for a dream team.

“If we do let’s say five people, I’ll pick Chelsea Green, need that No. 1. You know, I’ll throw you in there, Cody, you know you can politick for me. Hey, we have the TNA partnership now I’ll say Brian Myers, somebody whose known me since day one. From NYWC to winning tag team titles to podcasts – Major Wrestling Figure Podcast, collectmajor.com, lower third. Let me get, since we also have the TNA partnership, Nic Nemeth, the wanted man. And I can’t believe I’m saying this but ‘Awesome’ The Miz. The Miz can do it all. He’s always there when I need to pick his brain about something.”

“If I had to throw in a little bonus – Kit Wilson I would say in like 2011, 2012, the core would’ve been me, Miz, (John) Morrison, (Dolph) Ziggler and Kit.”

Cardona returned to WWE last year on the NXT brand, five years after being released by the company. He lost to Josh Briggs amidst NXT and TNA’s invasion storyline. In November, he was a competitor in John Cena’s Last Time Is Now Tournament on SmackDown.

Last week on SmackDown, he confronted Randy Orton backstage. His attempt to reason with Randy Orton for his actions against Rhodes at the contract signing the week prior ended disastrously for Cardona. Orton called him out to the ring under the pretense of an apology only to attack him instead.

Cody Rhodes addresses moves vs. storytelling debate

Cody Rhodes believes storytelling and in-ring moves are both essential components to making pro wrestling work.

One of the most frequently debated wrestling topics on social media has been whether it’s more important to have great stories or highly rated matches. Rhodes weighed in on the debate on his “What Do You Wanna Talk About?” podcast and said he believes good pro wrestling is a combination of both of those elements.

“There’s such an argument online about, ‘Oh, the spots. Oh, the storytelling. Cinema versus’ — and I don’t think people realize, it’s both. And when it’s everything, it works,” Rhodes said.

“And here’s the story. I remember there was a tag match that followed me one time. I had wrestled Ethan Page, and I thought we did a great job. And we had a crowd that was already a little contentious, and I was getting boos, things were happening. But I knew we killed it. But then there was a match that followed us, and six people on X liked it. It was indulgent, there was no story to it. They worked super hard, it wasn’t a matter of [them] not working.”

The comments from Rhodes came during a discussion he was having with Matt Cardona about Cardona’s death match against Nick Gage for Game Changer Wrestling in 2021. Rhodes said he’s enjoyed the death matches he’s seen because there has been a good story attached.

“If you’re going to do the death match, as we’re talking about here, and we don’t have to circle this forever, if there’s not a story, then it’s just indulgent,” Rhodes said. “And that’s why I kind of have liked the ones that I’ve seen [because there’s been a story].”

Cardona’s GCW run helped the former Zack Ryder reestablish himself after his release from WWE in 2020. Cardona doesn’t know if his WWE return would have ever happened if it wasn’t for all the buzz he generated with his death match against Gage.

On the indies, Cardona was sure to establish a connection with all of the fans he met. Rhodes thinks developing that connection with the audience is one of the most important things a wrestler can do in 2026.

“There’s a connection to it. And I feel like that’s something that has been very hard to say. You know how everything is so polarizing now, you’re either on one side of the fence. It’s crazy when you sit in the middle,” Rhodes said.

“Like, Je’Von [Evans] right now has got a reinventive style. But getting to know Je’Von makes you even more excited about the reinventive style. Getting to know Je’Von gets you more excited about the dumb thing he’s going to do. Because now you have a hope that, ‘I hope he hits it. Oh man.’

“You know, versus indulgence and just doing it for the sake of doing it. I feel very on a high horse over all this and I’m not trying to be, but you know, because the old-time guys are like, ‘Well, it’s not about the five stars.’ They make it so contentious right out of the gate. It’s not. It’s everything, if that makes any sense.”

Cody Rhodes to appear on The Pat McAfee Show

Cody Rhodes is heading to the Pat McAfee Show.

During Raw, it was announced that the WWE Champion will appear on the show this Wednesday. It will be his first appearance since being attacked by Randy Orton two weeks ago on SmackDown.

Orton brutally assaulted Rhodes during their contract signing, low blowing him after a hug and striking the champion with steel steps, causing him to get busted wide open. But Orton wasn’t done, causing further injury by propping Rhodes’ head against steel steps and smashing it with a steel chair.

On the Raw and SmackDown following the turn, Randy Orton has been seen talking to someone on the phone, seemingly following whatever advice he’s been given. He explained his actions by saying once Rhodes told him to be the best version of Randy Orton he could be, he allowed the voices in his head to take action.

After punking out Matt Cardona backstage, Jelly Roll convinced him to try to make amends with both Cardona and Rhodes. Orton brought Cardona to the ring to apologize, but it ended up being a swerve as Orton went on the attack once again, stomping Cardona’s arm that was wrapped in a steel chair.
