WWE Raw live results: Bobby Lashley vs. Seth Rollins

Date: January 17, 2022
Location: BOK Center in Tulsa, OK

The Big Takeaway —

None.

Show Recap —

Becky Lynch entered to start Raw as the announcers ran down tonight’s card.

Lynch spoke about how big this year’s Royal Rumble was and we could thank her for that. It was so big, in fact, that stars from the past were returning, like Lita, Mickie James, and the Bella Twins — all for an opportunity to face her.

Lynch said that Doudrop could thank her for winning last week and said she made people better before she beat them. She said “Dou-Dou” didn’t make a name for herself, someone else did that for her, and someone named “Doudrop” would never be champion as long as she was around.

Doudrop interrupted. She said she got the title match on her own and if Lynch really wanted to face her instead of Bianca Belair, she’s made a big mistake.

Belair interrupted. She reminded us that she’s the “E.S.T.” of WWE and said the only reason that Doudrop won last week was that Lynch was too afraid to face her. Belair announced that she was entering the Rumble match and would do whatever it takes to win it again.

Liv Morgan interrupted. She also announced that she was entering the Rumble and warned Belair — her partner for tonight — that she would eliminate her on her way to winning the match.

Doudrop made a snoring noise because she was understandably bored by all of this. Doudrop wanted to start their tag match right now and officials ran down to separate everyone.

********

Chad Gable and Otis were shown in the back wearing graduation caps and gowns, getting ready for their tag title celebration ceremony.

Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch & Doudrop defeated Bianca Belair & Liv Morgan (2:50)

This was more of an angle than a match. Morgan had Lynch pinned early on but Doudrop just barely broke up the cover. Moments later, Lynch seemed to have it won over Morgan after a Man-handle Slam, but Doudrop broke up that cover as well.

Doudrop tried to pin Morgan but the referee told her she wasn’t legal, so she dragged Lynch to their corner and awkwardly made the tag before hitting Morgan with a splash for the pinfall win.

Doudrop gave Lynch a Banzai drop after the match.

********

Reggie asked Edge if he had any advice for his match against Omos tonight. Edge said anything can happen. Reggie was pleased and asked Edge if he thought he had a chance. Edge chuckled and said, “hell no.” Beth Phoenix smacked Edge in the stomach for saying that. Phoenix put over Dana Brooke before Brooke chased after Reggie (who ran off).

Edge approached Damian Priest who was nearby. Priest asked Edge for advice on winning the Rumble. Before he could say anything, a producer handed Phoenix a note from Maryse. Maryse wanted to see her in the ring tonight — just the two of them. Edge told Priest they could speak later and they shook hands before he left with Phoenix. Priest called Edge the man.

Kevin Owens also approached Priest to say he was looking forward to their match tonight. Owens asked if they could have a nice technical match instead of Priest showing his crazy side. Priest blew him off and Owens left to host his show.

********

The announcers spoke about Elimination Chamber in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

KO Show with guest Seth Rollins

Owens (wearing a necktie over his sleeveless t-shirt) said he’d be lying if he said he was happy to be in Tulsa because this place was brutal. Owens introduced his “best friend” Seth Rollins.

Owens told Rollins how much he admired him, especially his suits. He appreciated all the minutiae that went into every detail in Rollins’ suits. He said it took guts to confront Roman Reigns on Smackdown. Reigns might call himself head of the table, but Rollins sets the table.

Rollins appreciated the comments and claimed that Reigns was scared. Rollins said winning the title would be like taking candy from a baby and he planned on changing the belt from blue to red. Owens was happy to hear that Rollins planned on staying on Raw after he wins. That (somehow) meant they wouldn’t have to deal with Bobby Lashley or Brock Lesnar anymore.

Owens had an announcement of his own: he was entering the Rumble match. He planned on winning the Rumble and we’d get a dream match at WrestleMania, Seth “freakin’” Rollins against Kevin “freakin’” Owens.

Damian Priest interrupted. Rollins told him to leave or else Owens would kick his ass. Priest told him to shut up. Priest called him delusional and said nobody believed that he would beat Reigns. Priest warned them that if they didn’t want to face “Damian,” they shouldn’t wake him up. He spoke with Sonya Deville and Adam Pearce before coming out and informed Owens that their match starts now.

Veer Mahan is coming to Raw again (again).

Non-title match: Kevin Owens defeated United States Champion Damian Priest (10:55)

Owens chopped Priest and it seemed like Priest would turn into “Damian” but Owens pleaded with him by saying that was just clean wrestling. Priest was fine with that explanation and was able to keep his cool. Priest went after Owens after he bailed from the ring but Owens hit a superkick and a splash off the apron which led to break.

Priest was already mounting his comeback when they returned from break. Priest used strikes, a clothesline and Broken Arrow for two. Owens fought Priest off the top rope and hit a big senton for two. They traded counters until Owens hit a pop-up powerbomb for a nearfall and Priest followed with a chokeslam for a nearfall.

Owens’ knee gave out and the referee called for the trainer as the crowd booed. Owens was faking, of course, and he suddenly hit Priest with a stunner for the pinfall win. The crowd was really into this.

I believe that was Priest’s first singles loss since debuting on the main roster.

[Second Hour]

Sarah Schreiber interviewed Nikki ASH (still dressed as a superhero) in the back. Nikki said she felt better than ever and Rhea Ripley should feel awful for being a bad friend. Schreiber noted that Nikki was the one who attacked Ripley. Nikki said Ripley ruined their team and flushed it down the toilet.

Nikki said the people of Tulsa don’t have a hero of their own and wanted to be referred to as the “People’s Hero.” She said sometimes heroes need to do things that regular people don’t understand and Ripley would need a superhero whether she realized it or not.

********

Alpha Academy Graduation Ceremony

Chad Gable put over his Master’s degree and 4.0 GPA. They booed and Gable once again told them not to boo education (which is a funny line). Gable said nobody from Tulsa had a Master’s or 4.0 GPA. They booed louder. (This was at least the third time someone has insulted the town so far an hour into the show.)

Gable was proud of Otis for finishing his own degree by beating those morons in RK-Bro and now they were the rightful champions. The crowd chanted for RK-Bro. Gable presented Otis with a diploma and said he graduated with the highest of honours.

Otis thanked Gable for helping him reach his full potential and warned everyone that they would face carnage if they tried to get in their way.

Riddle interrupted. He was also dressed in a cap and gown. Riddle had a speech prepared — written on a napkin he took from the breakfast buffet. Riddle rambled until Gable cut him off and said the people of Tulsa couldn’t afford to lose any more brain cells.

Gable told Riddle that he already ruined the greatest night of Otis’ life. He figured Riddle wanted a rematch but probably couldn’t even define the word “rematch.” Riddle thought maybe “rematch” meant lighting a match for a second time.

Gable called him an idiot and wondered where Randy Orton was. Gable said Riddle could get his rematch if he could pass an academic aptitude test. (They zoomed in on Otis who seemed worried about this idea.) Riddle continued to ramble until Otis started walking towards him.

That left Gable prone and he ate an RKO from Orton. Riddle wiped out Otis before he could go after Orton. Riddle helped Orton put on a cap and gown before Orton grabbed a mic and accepted the title rematch.

I mostly enjoyed this and Gable is doing well in this role.

********

They aired a replay of Finn Bálor beating Austin Theory weeks ago. Theory approached Vince McMahon in his office. McMahon was watching the replay of Bálor’s win. Theory explained (again) that he might have lost but beat up Bálor afterwards which was like a half-victory.

McMahon said there were no half-victories and if he didn’t beat Bálor tonight, McMahon would beat up Theory. McMahon explained all of the ugly, gory things he would do to Theory as Theory looked on in shock. McMahon said he would finish by taking a selfie over Theory’s body before sending it to his mom.

********

There was a Martin Luther King Jr. tribute video.

********

Austin Theory defeated Finn Bálor (6:06)

They went to break a minute into the match after Bálor hit a slingblade on the outside and Bálor remained in control after the break. Theory dropped Bálor neck-first over the top rope but Bálor countered an ATL into a rollup for two. Theory dodged a Coup de Grace and followed with a rolling dropkick and ATL for the clean pinfall win.

Theory attacked Bálor after the match and laid him out with another ATL.

********

Schreiber interviewed Ripley. Ripley said she wanted to remain friends with Nikki but wondered what kind of hero attacks their friend. Ripley planned on reminding everyone, including Nikki, who she was.

Queen Zelina and Carmella entered before the upcoming match could start. They bragged about being right about Ripley and Nikki. They said they should be thanked for breaking them up because they were better off. Vega said Ripley didn’t have the guts to be a champion on her own.

Rhea Ripley vs. Nikki ASH

The match didn’t happen. As Ripley watched Vega and Carmella, Nikki attacked her and drove her into the steel steps.

They are really dragging Ripley down with all of this.

********

Brooke psyched Reggie up in the back as R-Truth, Tamina, Akira Tozawa, and a referee watched while eating popcorn in the background. Reggie wasn’t feeling very confident about his match against Omos but Brooke told him that he was the most capable person she knew. After they left, Truth said Brooke must not like Reggie because she just told him to go get got. (That was funny.)

Omos defeated Reggie (w/24/7 Champion Dana Brooke) (0:30)

Before the match, Tozawa and Truth tried running after Brooke but Omos decked them both because they entered the ring. Tamina got in Omos’ face as Reggie went to the top rope.

The match began and Omos caught Reggie off the top before hitting a big tree slam for the quick pinfall win.

[Third Hour]

Maryse and Beth Phoenix face-to-face

Maryse said Miz had a big mouth and liked to agree to things without asking her first. She wanted to clean up his mess and asked Phoenix to come out so they could talk woman-to-woman, mother-to-mother.

Phoenix entered with Edge. Maryse asked them to stay on the ramp, so they did. Maryse said their mixed tag match at the Rumble had to be cancelled. Maryse didn’t want it, Phoenix didn’t want it, and the fans didn’t want it. The crowd booed her so she told them that she had a mic and could be a lot louder than them. They loudly chanted “you suck” as Maryse tried speaking to Phoenix.

Maryse spoke about their history and said the women today can main event WrestleMania because of the work they did. Maryse thought they should be friends and their kids should hang out.

Phoenix told her to shut up. She wasn’t buying any of this and neither was the crowd which meant Maryse must be taking acting lessons from her husband. Phoenix said their match was on and she was not going to pass up the chance to team with her husband. She also wasn’t passing up the chance to Glam Slam Maryse’s ass through the canvas.

Phoenix wanted to give the fans a preview so she entered the ring. Miz tried attacking Edge from behind but Edge decked him. Maryse used the distraction to knock down Phoenix from behind with her purse. Edge checked on Phoenix as Marse and Miz walked away.

Maryse revealed she had a brick in her purse. She kissed Miz.

*********

The Street Profits spoke about the Rumble match. Angelo Dawkins asked Montez Ford if he would throw him out. Before he could respond, Dominik and Rey Mysterio appeared. Dominik said they planned on taking the Mysterio name back to the main event of WrestleMania. They were all excited to be on the same team tonight.

8-man tag team match: The Street Profits, Dominik & Rey Mysterio defeated Dolph Ziggler, Robert Roode, Apollo Crews & Commander Azeez (7:59)

This was basically a quick, all-action match where the babyfaces got to shine.

The two teams argued outside the ring as they went to break 90 seconds into the match and the heels were in control when they returned. Dawkins made a hot tag and ran wild before the Mysterio hit Ziggler and Roode with a double 619. Azeez caught Rey but Dominik knocked him down with a dive. Dawkins gave Crews a spinebuster and Ford followed with a frog splash for the pinfall win.

After the match, the Mysterios dumped Dawkins and Ford over the top rope as a preview of the Rumble. The Mysterios acted like this was all good-natured fun. Rey then dumped Dominik over the top, too.

********

There was a big video feature on Brock Lesnar vs. Bobby Lashley, showcasing both of their careers. It acknowledged Lesnar’s time in UFC and Lashley’s time in Bellator.

********

Jimmy Smith said the following line (almost certainly written for him): “When it comes to mental health, the first thing you have to do is recognize you have a problem. I think that we all recognize that Alexa Bliss has a serious problem.” They aired a clip from last week’s Bliss therapy segment.

********

Kevin Patrick asked Maryse and Miz to comment on their earlier attack. Miz was amused that it only took one shot to take down Phoenix. Miz was about to refer to the “Grit couple” as the “shit couple” but Maryse stopped him because their kids were watching.

Miz said it was Maryse’s birthday next week and he planned on throwing her a huge party. He said nothing was stronger than their love. They made out and Patrick ran away.

********

Alexa Bliss segment

Bliss was back at the psychiatrist’s office. The psychiatrist wanted to play a word association game. After every word he said (“trust,” “friendship,” etc), she responded, “Lilly.” When he said the word “imaginary” she stood up and appeared angry. He bailed. Bliss sat down. The segment ended.

********

(Earlier I wrote that Randy Orton/Riddle accepted Chad Gable’s tag title rematch. I was wrong because what they actually accepted was Gable’s academic aptitude challenge. I guess if they pass, they get the title match.)

********

Bobby Lashley (w/MVP) defeated Seth Rollins via DQ (13:17)

Lashley barely budged when Rollins hit a suicide dive so Rollins tried another but Lashley caught him and suplexed him.

After a break, Rollins was randomly in control as he repeatedly drove Lashley’s leg into the post. Rollins worked over the leg until Lashley punched his way out of a submission. Rollins used an awkward-looking dragon screw and applied a single-leg crab. Lashley pushed him off and Rollins went for a stomp but Lashley ducked and hit a flatliner.

Lashley followed with overhead suplexes, a shoulder tackle, a neckbreaker, and a Dominator for two. Rollins blocked a spear with a knee strike and, after a couple of counters, he hit a Pedigree for a nearfall. Rollins went to the top but Lashley caught him and hit an impressive-looking overhead suplex.

The match suddenly ended in DQ when Lashley was attacked by Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander. Lashley made his own comeback and gave them a double vertical suplex. Lashley drove Alexander into the post and speared Benjamin through the barricade.

As Rollins watched, the Usos entered through the crowd and gave him a double superkick.

(The crowd was quiet during the match while Lashley was selling, which he probably did too much of considering his next opponent, but they woke up when he went on offense. I guess they figured a DQ would be fine because we got an appearance from the Usos.)

Bobby Lashley vs. Seth Rollins set for WWE Raw, Becky Lynch & Doudrop to team up

Royal Rumble challengers are set to face off against each other on tonight’s episode of Raw.

WWE has announced that Bobby Lashley vs. Seth Rollins will take place on Raw tonight. Lashley is challenging for Brock Lesnar’s WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble, while Rollins is challenging for Roman Reigns’ Universal Championship.

The Royal Rumble is being held at The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis on Saturday, January 29. The pay-per-view will also feature Becky Lynch defending her Raw Women’s Championship against Doudrop. Tonight, Lynch & Doudrop will team together against Bianca Belair & Liv Morgan.

Doudrop became the number one contender to Lynch’s title by defeating Belair and Morgan in a triple threat match in the main event of Raw last week. Leading into the finish of the match, Lynch interfered and prevented Belair from winning. Doudrop then hit a Banzai Drop on Morgan and pinned her to get the victory.

Lynch acted like she was going to shake Doudrop’s hand after the number one contender’s match, but she slapped Doudrop in the face instead. Lynch then went to hit the Manhandle Slam, but Doudrop powered out of it.

The BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma is hosting tonight’s Raw. Here’s the updated lineup for the episode:

  • Bobby Lashley vs. Seth Rollins
  • Becky Lynch & Doudrop vs. Bianca Belair & Liv Morgan
  • Bobby Lashley responds to Brock Lesnar after last week’s face-to-face
  • Becky Lynch reacts to Doudrop being her next challenger
  • Can RK-Bro bounce back after losing the Raw Tag Team titles to Alpha Academy?

Becky Lynch and Bobby Lashley segments set for WWE Raw

Segments involving Becky Lynch and Bobby Lashley have been announced for Monday’s episode of Raw.

Lynch will react to Doudrop becoming the next challenger for her Raw Women’s Championship. Doudrop defeated Liv Morgan and Bianca Belair in a triple threat match this past Monday to be confirmed as Lynch’s Royal Rumble challenger.

Doudrop won that number one contender’s match after interference by Lynch. As Belair was on the verge of winning after hitting the KOD on Morgan, Lynch broke up the pin. Doudrop got the victory with a Banzai Drop on Morgan as Belair was focused on Lynch.

Following the match, Lynch slapped Doudrop in the face after acting like she was going to shake her hand. She tried to give Doudrop the Manhandle Slam, but Doudrop powered out of it.

Lashley will respond to Brock Lesnar on Raw after the face-to-face confrontation they had this past Monday. Lesnar made jokes about Lashley and called him a Brock Lesnar wannabe.

The face-to-face segment ended with Lashley destroying Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander when they attempted to attack him. Lashley had told them to get the hell out of there before the segment and said The Hurt Business aren’t back together.

Lesnar is defending his WWE Championship against Lashley at the Royal Rumble on Saturday, January 29.

Monday’s Raw is taking place at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. WWE is also advertising that we’ll see if RK-Bro can bounce back after losing their Raw Tag Team titles to Chad Gable & Otis. Plus, the build to Edge & Beth Phoenix vs. The Miz & Maryse at the Royal Rumble will continue.

WWE Raw video highlights: Lesnar and Lashley go face-to-face

With their WWE Championship match official for the Royal Rumble, Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley went face-to-face on last night’s Raw.

Lashley interrupted Lesnar at the start of the show. Lashley said it was an honor to be able to look Lesnar in the eye and tell him that, for 20 years, he’s been ducking Lashley and running from him.

Lesnar claimed that he didn’t know who Lashley was until Day 1. Lesnar said he’s been winning championships for the last 20 years — and the fact they’ve never had a one-on-one match is Lashley’s fault. Lesnar said Lashley didn’t climb the ladder of success and enter the same arena as him until now. Lesnar told Lashley that, if they had faced each other, he already would have beaten Lashley and this match wouldn’t be happening.

Lesnar told a knock-knock joke asking who Lashley was. He also called Lashley a Brock Lesnar wannabe.

Before Lashley had made his way out to the ring, he told Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin backstage that The Hurt Business weren’t back together. Lashley instructed them to get the hell out of here and said that he works alone. Alexander and Benjamin tried to attack Lashley at the end of his segment with Lesnar, but Lashley destroyed both of them.

A triple threat match in last night’s main event confirmed Becky Lynch’s challenger for the Royal Rumble. Doudrop defeated Liv Morgan and Bianca Belair to get the Raw Women’s Championship shot.

Lynch interfered in the match as Belair was on the verge of winning. Doudrop then gave Morgan a Banzai Drop to get the victory.

Lynch acted like she was going to shake Doudrop’s hand after the match, but she slapped Doudrop in the face instead. Lynch went to give Doudrop the Manhandle Slam, but Doudrop powered out of it and sent her out of the ring.

After Lashley’s win, Lesnar was asked to comment on facing him at the Royal Rumble. But instead of acknowledging Lashley, Lesnar just stated that he’ll be appearing on SmackDown this Friday. Lesnar said he’ll see Roman Reigns there.

In the opening segment of Monday’s Raw, Lesnar reunited with Paul Heyman after winning the WWE Championship at Day 1. Lesnar credited Heyman for getting him in the WWE title match after Reigns tested positive for COVID-19.

It was also announced that a triple threat match to determine Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch’s challenger for the Royal Rumble will take place next Monday. It will be Liv Morgan vs. Bianca Belair vs. Doudrop.

Brock Lesnar vs. Bobby Lashley official for WWE Royal Rumble

WWE has set a date for the first-ever one-on-one match between Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley.

Lesnar will defend his WWE Championship against Lashley at the Royal Rumble on Saturday, January 29. Lashley getting the title shot was made official when he defeated Big E, Seth Rollins, and Kevin Owens in a fatal four-way number one contender’s match in the main event of tonight’s Raw.

Lashley pinned Owens to win the number one contender’s match. Big E and Rollins were also speared by Lashley leading into the finish.

Lesnar became WWE Champion by defeating Big E, Rollins, Owens, and Lashley in a fatal five-way match at Day 1 last Saturday. Lesnar was added to the match at the last minute after Roman Reigns tested positive for COVID-19. Reigns had been scheduled to defend his Universal Championship against Lesnar at Day 1.

At Day 1, Lashley was the only wrestler in the match that Lesnar didn’t hit the F-5 on. Lashley gave Lesnar a spear through the barricade at one point in the match, and there was also a spot where Lashley got a near fall after hitting a spear on Lesnar in the ring.

When asked for comment after Lashley’s win tonight, Lesnar didn’t acknowledge Lashley. Lesnar said that he’d see Reigns on SmackDown this Friday night.

Lesnar reunited with Paul Heyman during the opening segment of tonight’s Raw.

The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis will be the host of this year’s Royal Rumble. Here’s the updated card for the pay-per-view:

  • Men’s Royal Rumble match
  • Women’s Royal Rumble match
  • WWE Champion Brock Lesnar defends against Bobby Lashley
  • Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch defends against either Liv Morgan, Bianca Belair, or Doudrop (Morgan, Belair, and Doudrop will face off in a triple threat match on Raw next week to determine Lynch’s Royal Rumble challenger)
  • Mixed tag match: Edge & Beth Phoenix vs. The Miz & Maryse

WWE Raw live results: Day 1 fallout

Date: January 3, 2022
Location: Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, SC

The Big Takeaway —

Raw started and ended well but the middle of the show was no good.

Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman appear to be together again.

Bobby Lashley beat Big E, Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins to earn a title match against Lesnar at the Royal Rumble. However, when asked for comment about the match, Lesnar seemed focused on seeing Roman Reigns on Smackdown this Friday.

Show Recap —

There was a recap of Brock Lesnar winning the WWE Championship at Day 1.

Raw kicked off with a big fireworks display before the announcers ran down tonight’s card.

The lights went dark and came back on to reveal Paul Heyman standing in the ring. Heyman introduced us to his client — the new WWE Champion, Brock Lesnar.

Brock Lesnar/Paul Heyman segment

Lesnar chucked the steel steps in the ring to give himself a podium to stand on. Lesnar shouted out his good buddy Roman Reigns who must be at home watching the new and the real champion. Lesnar said, “Get well soon, buddy” and added, “South Carolina. Acknowledge me.”

Lesnar thanked Heyman for pulling the strings on Saturday to help make him the new champion.

Heyman explained the circumstances that led to Lesnar being added to Day 1’s title match before saying Lesnar would defend the title at the Royal Rumble against the winner of tonight’s number one contender’s match.

Heyman said if Seth Rollins was such a visionary he would realize that his wife would leave him if he couldn’t beat Lesnar at the Rumble. He figured his wife wouldn’t leave Rollins for Kevin Owens because he can’t beat Lesnar either.

Heyman suggested they request a trade to Smackdown because the tribal chief is suddenly very vulnerable without his special counsel. In fact, after just one week without him, Reigns went ahead and got Covid.

Heyman said that Lesnar and Bobby Lashley had never met before Saturday. The first time they met, Lashley speared Lesnar through the barricade. Lashley also speared him in the ring and put him in the Hurt Lock.

Heyman had no trouble admitting that Lesnar may not have gotten out of that hold but also suggested that Lashley attacked Lesnar each time from behind. If it were a one-on-one match, Lashley would simply go down as the All Mighty Brock Lesnar wannabe.

Heyman put over Big E as a great champion (as a few fans applauded) and suggested he would still be champion if he did not have to face Lesnar. If Big E were the challenger at the Rumble, it would be an honour to watch that match — but Big E would still lose. Heyman concluded that Lesnar would still be the champion at the Rumble no matter what.

********

Randy Orton and Riddle had a meeting in the back. (Oddly, Riddle approached Orton but said nothing and scooted away which led to commercials. Riddle approached Orton again after the break for the segment.) There was some comedy before Orton implored Riddle to listen to him.

Before the match, Chad Gable cut a promo before he and Otis attacked Orton and Riddle. Otis laid out Riddle with a suplex outside the ring. The match was underway after a break.

Alpha Academy defeated Raw Tag Team Champions Randy Orton & Riddle in a non-title match

Riddle tried to make a hot tag to Orton but Gable pulled him off the apron. Otis ran over Orton before heading back in the ring. Riddle tried an RKO but Otis countered into a World’s Strongest Slam for the quick pinfall win.

(This was only about three minutes long on TV.)

********

Sarah Schreiber interviewed MVP and Lashley. MVP called tonight a Herculean task for Lashley. Lashley said, “Brock Lesnar fears me.”

Omos was shown with Kevin Patrick before they went to break. There was a long AJ Styles/Omos video package before Patrick asked Omos for his reaction to Styles’ comments. Omos put his hand over Patrick’s face before saying, “that’s how I react.” That was dumb.

(I know it’s been going on for weeks, but they’re turning down the live crowd for a lot of these backstage segments and adding fake crowd noise. There was no reaction to Lashley’s statement and they added canned booing to Omos’ comment.)

There were entrances for the upcoming mixed tag match before the announcers ran down tonight’s card yet again, even though the show is less than an hour old. This led to yet another break. If you couldn’t tell already, they’re really padding this show again.

********

Mixed tag team match: 24/7 Champion Dana Brooke & Reggie defeated Tamina & Akira Tozawa (1:21)

Tozawa kicked Tamina by accident after Reggie avoided a boot. Tamina smacked Tozawa and Reggie followed with a flipping seated senton into a pin for the win (Corey Graves called the move the “whoopee cushion.”)

They said before the match that the title could change hands and Brooke retained because her team won. This was all very stupid.

[Second Hour]

Becky Lynch promo

Lynch knew that it was the resolution of every woman on the roster to win the title but she had no interest in giving it up. She said many have tried but none of them can beat her.

Lynch had some time to reflect and realized she was a work of art. If you go to a museum, the art can make you feel because that’s what good art does. Good art reveals the truth and that’s what Lynch was. Lynch called herself Vincent Van GOAT (a Dexter: New Blood reference) and she informed the fans they would not realize their resolutions.

Lynch said that Liv Morgan broke her promise to the fans and to herself. Morgan interrupted.

Morgan said Lynch knew just how close she came to winning the title on Saturday. Morgan always gave it her all and that’s what she did at Day 1. Lynch said that was lovely, and maybe she will win the title won day, but that wouldn’t be until after she retired.

Bianca Belair interrupted. She was sick of hearing from Lynch and wasn’t buying her hype. Belair claimed that she stepped aside to deal with Doudrop and give others an opportunity but she was right back in line for Lynch’s title.

Lynch didn’t seem interested and suggested that Belair and Morgan start a support group for people who have lost to her. She realized that it already existed and it was called the women’s locker room. Morgan was surprised to hear Lynch acknowledge the women’s locker room considering she hasn’t been with them in years.

Lynch suggested that Morgan and Belair had an issue that they needed to sort first. Morgan and Belair gave each other a look before tossing Lynch from the ring.

Belair and Morgan faced off before quickly getting into a brawl. Belair was about to give Morgan a KOD but Lynch knocked them down from behind.

Lynch posed with her belt as she backed up the ramp.

********

Owens approached Rollins in the back. Rollins asked Owens if he should staple Heyman’s lips together or rip out his tongue. Owens suggested they work together again tonight, and if they did, they could end up wrestling each other for the title. Rollins said he trusted Owens and agreed to his plan. Owens, not a dummy, wondered if Rollins might be lying.

********

Queen Zelina & Carmella defeated Rhea Ripley & Nikki ASH to retain the Tag Team Championships (2:34)

The champs retained quickly after Zelina rolled up Nikki. Ripley acted shocked.

This was a nothing segment and they moved on from it fairly quickly.

*********

They played the Johnny Knoxville video announcing he will be in the Rumble match.

Montez Ford, Angelo Dawkins, Rey Mysterio, and Dominik Mysterio also declared for the match.

********

The Street Profits defeated Apollo Crews & Commander Azeez (2:18)

Another quick match that saw Ford pick up the win with a frog splash on Crews.

There have been less than 10 minutes of wrestling so far 90 minutes into the show.

********

Schreiber asked Damian Priest about the stipulation in tonight’s title defense (if Priest gets counted out or disqualified, he loses the US title). Priest did a dumb promo explaining the two sides to his personality and what that meant for Dolph Ziggler.

********

Doudrop approached Sonya Deville and Adam Pearce. She was pissed that Belair and Morgan were getting chances ahead of her again. Pearce asked what she was actually angry about. Doudrop asked if “grandpa” was deaf and explained she was pissed that the same women kept getting the opportunities.

Deville announced a triple threat between Doudrop, Belair and Morgan next week, and the winner would face Lynch at the Rumble for the title. Doudrop was happy with this.

(They added fake cheering for Deville’s announcement.)

Damian Priest defeated Dolph Ziggler to retain the United States Championship (9:37)

Ziggler hit a tornado DDT off the barricade which led to break less than a minute into the match and the action during the break automatically made this the longest match of the night so far.

Priest fought back after the break but Ziggler came back with a nice running knee strike for two. Priest responded with kicks and a cliffhanger DDT for two.

Ziggler had the referee distracted which allowed Robert Roode (who did not enter with Ziggler) to drop Priest from the top rope. Ziggler followed with a fameasser for a nearfall.

Priest decked Ziggler before going after Roode. He was about to attack Roode with a steel chair but entered the ring instead so he wouldn’t get counted out. Ziggler dared Priest to use the chair on him but Priest chucked it at Roode instead. Ziggler used the momentary distraction to hit a Zig-Zag for a nearfall.

Ziggler tried a superkick but Priest countered into Reckoning for the pinfall win. The crowd was into the last few minutes.

********

Austin Theory approached Vince McMahon in the back for a segment they filmed with at least two cameras. Vince gave him a hard time for apologizing and saying he didn’t mean to interrupt when he did interrupt. Theory asked about his rematch with Finn Bálor. McMahon sort of blew this off and said that Theory would be in the Rumble. McMahon said Theory would win and main event WrestleMania. Theory was speechless.

[Third Hour]

Miz & Maryse/Edge & Beth Phoenix segment

Miz and Maryse entered. Miz said they were outraged over the outcome at Day 1 after he was only one Skull Crushing Finale away from winning. Miz called himself a two-time grand slam champion and shouldn’t have to prove himself against Edge who was only a one-time grand slam champion.

Miz mentioned Beth Phoenix costing him the match and said Edge deserved to lose because of what he did to them last week. He played a replay of the “brood bath.” Miz said the crowd enjoyed that because they were miserable and they wanted to see bad things happen to good people but true love would overcome.

Miz claimed Edge hid behind his wife and wondered what kind of man did that. The crowd yelled, “you!” Maryse said Miz would never do that because he was brave and handsome. Maryse said she would punch Phoenix in the face if she were here tonight.

Beth Phoenix entered to her music before Edge entered to his. Phoenix wasn’t surprised to see Maryse not act on her word and Edge wasn’t surprised to see Miz full of excuses. Phoenix said it was her own idea to get involved at Day 1.

Edge had an idea too. He suggested a mixed tag match at the Royal Rumble. The crowd cheered and chanted “yes.” Miz hesitated before Phoenix pressed him for an answer. Miz accepted but Maryse wasn’t happy about that. Phoenix psyched out Maryse with a fake punch and Maryse fell on her ass (like Edge did to Miz a few weeks ago). Maryse stormed off and Miz chased after her.

********

Patrick interviewed Big E. He said being WWE Champion meant a lot to him and it meant something to a lot of people too. There was no shame in losing to Lesnar. What he won’t do is wallow in self-pity. The next chapter would be the best chapter and tonight was the start of him reclaiming what is his. There wasn’t a soul on earth who could stop him.

*******

Omos defeated AJ Styles (3:46)

Styles used strikes and tried to outsmart Omos but Omos just cut him off with a big boot. Styles fought back and tried a Phenomenal forearm but Omos swatted him out of mid-air.

Omos hit a big press slam before hitting a tree slam for the decisive win.

********

Next week: Alexa Bliss’ journey back to Raw. (She isn’t necessarily returning next week based on how they phrased this.)

********

I know it’s been Rollins’ nickname for a while, but they’re really all-in on calling him Seth “Freakin’” Rollins. I hope one of the announcers calls him Freakin’ Rollins like he’s Hitman Hart.

Owens entered, they went to break, they aired the Bliss video, everyone else entered, and they went to break again.

Fatal 4-way match: Bobby Lashley defeated Kevin Owens, Big E and Seth Rollins (18:40)

This was excellent.

Big E hit Owens with a spear through the ropes less than a minute into the match. It looked like he landed hard but he popped right up to face off with Lashley in the ring. Lashley got the better of that exchange and gave Big E a vertical suplex before doing the same to Owens.

The crowd chanted for “Bobby” as he sprinted toward Owens for a spear outside the ring but Owens moved and Lashley crashed through the barricade. Big E suplexed Rollins on the mats before clearing the announce table but Owens saved Rollins. Owen and Rollins gave Big E a Shield powerbomb through the table which led to break.

Owens and Rollins continued to team up on Lashley and Big E. Big E gave Rollins an STO but ran into an Owens superkick and Lashley decked Owens.

Big E and Lashley gave each other a look and decided to go after Owens and Rollins. Big E and Lashley chased them through the crowd, up the stairs, into the arena concourse. (This particular area of the concourse was sectioned off from the fans which makes these moments feel fake.) Big E slammed Owens through a merch table which led to break.

Rollins, Big E, and Lashley continued to fight the crowd near an entryway until Owens crashed through them with an insane dive off a railing. “This is awesome” chants.

Owens gave Big E a senton and Rollins followed with a frog splash. Owens actually didn’t break up the cover and watched as Rollins got a nearfall. They both hit superkicks and Owens hit a pop-up powerbomb but Lashley pushed Rollins into them to break up the cover.

Lashley tossed around Owens and Rollins but Rollins pushed Big E into a Lashley spear. Lashley also speared Rollins.

Owens tried a stunner but Lashley blocked it and hit a spear for the pinfall win.

It’s Lesnar vs. Lashley at the Rumble.

Lashley got a few moments to celebrate post-match as the announcers put over the win and the Lesnar/Lashley match.

Patrick approached Lesnar in the back. Lesnar wanted Reigns to know that he’d be on Smackdown on Friday.

WWE title number one contender’s match announced for Raw

WWE has revealed how the first challenger for Brock Lesnar’s WWE Championship will be determined.

Big E, Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, and Bobby Lashley will face off in a fatal four-way number one contender’s match on Raw tonight. The winner will challenge for Lesnar’s WWE title at the Royal Rumble on Saturday, January 29.

Big E vs. Rollins vs. Owens vs. Lashley was originally supposed to be the WWE Championship match at Day 1 this past Saturday, but the card for the show underwent a major shakeup after Roman Reigns tested positive for COVID-19. Instead of challenging for Reigns’ Universal Championship, Lesnar was added to the WWE title match. Lesnar pinned Big E to win the WWE Championship.

Big E was WWE Champion heading into Day 1.

Dave Meltzer reported that, as of Saturday night, Lesnar vs. Lashley was planned to be the next direction for the WWE title.

Tonight’s Raw is taking place at Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina. An appearance by Lesnar will kick off the show. WWE has also announced that Damian Priest will defend his United States title against Dolph Ziggler tonight. Plus, AJ Styles will face his former tag team partner Omos.

Brock Lesnar vs. Bobby Lashley next WWE title match direction

Image: WWE

The next planned direction for new WWE Champion Brock Lesnar will be former champion Bobby Lashley, according to Dave Meltzer.

Meltzer said that as of Saturday night, that was the plan and the reason the Day 1 five-way title match was put together the way it was, especially with Lashley glaring at Lesnar after the latter had won the title.

During the match, Lesnar never hit an F5 on Lashley while Lashley had Lesnar in the Hurt Lock but had to be saved by Big E, seen above.

When it happens, it will be the first singles meeting between them. Both are also former MMA heavyweights as Lesnar held UFC gold and became one of the sport’s biggest pay-per-view draws while Lashley ran up a 15-2 record, finishing up in Bellator MMA in 2016 with five straight stoppage wins.

Meltzer said there is still a planned Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns direction to include whatever was to take place Saturday when the long-reigning Universal Champion was forced to pull out due to contracting COVID-19. Lesnar was set to have another match with Reigns Saturday, but was added into the fatal four-way with Big E, Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins and Lashley instead.

Lashley is looking to regain the title he lost to Big E on the September 13th Raw where Big E gave his intent to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase the day before. It’s unknown what is next for the former champion who was in his first WWE title reign.

WWE Day 1 live results: Fatal five-way WWE title match

WWE is ringing in the new year with Day 1 taking place at State Farm Arena in Atlanta tonight.

The card for WWE’s first-ever New Year’s Day pay-per-view has undergone some significant last-minute changes. Due to Roman Reigns testing positive for COVID-19, his Universal Championship match against Brock Lesnar that was supposed to headline tonight’s show is now off.

Lesnar has instead been added to tonight’s WWE Championship match. Big E will defend his title against Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, Bobby Lashley, and Lesnar in a fatal five-way.

Also on tonight’s show, Liv Morgan challenges Becky Lynch for the Raw Women’s Championship, Edge faces The Miz, The Usos defend their SmackDown Tag Team titles against The New Day, RK-Bro take on The Street Profits with the Raw Tag Team titles on the line, Drew McIntyre faces Madcap Moss, and Cesaro & Ricochet team up against Sheamus & Ridge Holland.

Cesaro & Ricochet vs. Sheamus & Holland will be tonight’s pre-show match. The pre-show begins at 7 p.m. Eastern time, with the main card starting an hour later.

Tonight’s pre-show panel consists of Braxton, Kevin Patrick, JBL, Booker T, and Pete Rosenberg. They ran down the lineup for tonight’s card with the changes.

They recapped the Edge and Miz feud. After the video recap, Braxton was laughing about Miz and Maryse’s blood bath on Raw. The Miz interrupted and was furious that Braxton was laughing. Miz mentioned appearing on Dancing with the Stars, and Rosenberg pointed out that he lost. Miz blamed the fans for not voting for him. He promised to defeat Edge tonight and gain the respect that he deserves.

Sonya Deville joined the panel to discuss the Raw Women’s title match. Deville believes that Morgan’s ready to move up and win the title. Braxton mentioned Deville’s problems with Naomi. Deville noted she’s an official, and Naomi can’t put her hands on her.

In the back, Megan Morant interviewed New Day. King Xavier Woods read a proclamation and promised to win the tag titles tonight. He declared New Year’s Day is now New Day Day. Kingston noted they defeated The Usos before.

The panel then discussed Drew McIntyre vs. Madcap Moss and Raw Tag Team Champions RK-Bro defending against The Street Profits.

Sheamus & Ridge Holland defeated Cesaro & Ricochet (9:43)

Holland suffered a legit injury within the first few moments of the match. They immediately took him to the back, and it became Sheamus against Cesaro & Ricochet. They had a good match considering they had to change it on the fly.

The faces had the early advantage when Cesaro caught Holland and slammed him down. Ricochet tagged in, and the fans popped. Cesaro assisted Ricochet in hitting a standing shooting star press for a near fall. Ricochet’s knee connected with Holland’s face on the landing. The fans broke into a loud “Ricochet” chant.

Michael Cole noted that Holland had a broken nose and was taken to the back by medical staff. Sheamus is now fighting both guys on his own.

Sheamus slowed the pace down with a chin lock. Ricochet tried fighting back, but Sheamus hit the Irish Curse backbreaker for a near fall. Sheamus dominated Ricochet until Cesaro got the hot tag. Cesaro ran wild and hit a running uppercut against the barricade at ringside.

Cesaro hit a flying crossbody for a close near fall. He then gave Sheamus the giant swing into the sharpshooter. Sheamus fought back and made it to the bottom rope. Sheamus caught Cesaro with a knee, but Ricochet broke up the pin attempt.

Ricochet sent Sheamus to the floor and attempted a plancha. Sheamus caught Ricochet and hit white noise. Sheamus jumped off the top rope, but Cesaro caught him with an uppercut. The finish came when Cesaro missed a tackle in the corner, and Sheamus hit the Brogue Kick to win.

The panel ran down the lineup again and took a closer look at the fatal five-way main event.

Before the match, Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss told some bad jokes and made fun of Atlanta. Moss made fun of McIntyre and said some more lame jokes.

McIntrye rocked Moss with a shoulder tackle for the early advantage. Moss briefly fought back and laughed at McIntrye. McIntyre recovered and backed Moss into the corner. He rocked Moss with a clothesline and hit an impressive suplex for a near fall.

WWE Raw video highlights: Bobby Lashley runs the gauntlet

Image: WWE

Bobby Lashley ran the gauntlet on last night’s Raw, defeating Big E, Seth Rollins, and Kevin Owens in the same night to be added to the WWE Championship match at Day 1.

After laying out Big E, Rollins, and Owens the previous week, Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville told Lashley last night that he would only be added to the Day 1 title match if he could defeat all three of them in singles matches throughout the show. Lashley started off by defeating Owens, who tapped out to avoid injury when Lashley was going for the Hurt Lock.

Owens made it so Rollins won his match against Lashley by disqualification, but Pearce and Deville restarted the match and made it no DQ. Lashley then hit a spear on Rollins to get the win.

Lashley and Big E’s match was also made no DQ. Big E didn’t want Rollins and Owens’ help, but they got involved anyway. Big E and Lashley fought off Rollins and Owens and sent them through tables. But MVP then hit Big E in the knee with his cane, and Lashley speared Big E and pinned him.

It will now be a fatal four-way match with Big E defending against Rollins, Owens, and Lashley at Day 1 on New Year’s Day.

Bobby Lashley added to WWE title match at Day 1

The WWE Championship match at Day 1 is now a fatal four-way.

Big E will defend his WWE Championship against Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, and Bobby Lashley in a fatal four-way match at Day 1. Lashley was added to the match by defeating Big E, Rollins, and Owens throughout tonight’s Raw.

After Lashley laid out Big E, Rollins, and Owens last week, Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville informed Lashley tonight that he would only be added to the Day 1 title match if he could defeat all three of Big E, Rollins, and Owens in one night. Lashley defeated Owens first, then Rollins, and finally defeated Big E in the main event.

When Lashley went to put him in the Hurt Lock, Owens quickly tapped out to avoid getting injured. Rollins and Owens conspired to have Rollins win by countout in his match against Lashley, but Pearce and Deville restarted the match and made it no disqualification. A no DQ stipulation was also added to Lashley vs. Big E.

Big E didn’t want Rollins and Owens’ help against Lashley, but they got involved anyway. Big E and Lashley fought off Owens and Rollins and sent them through tables. MVP then hit Big E in the knee with his cane and Lashley hit a spear on Big E to get the win.

Show Recap —

They’re doing that thing where they’re only filming one side of the arena. You can guess what that means.

Bobby Lashley and MVP promo

They called Lashley the most dangerous man in WWE and people were afraid to even say his name. MVP said Lashley was disrespected and should be added to the title match at Day 1.

Kevin Owens interrupted. Owens informed them that he wasn’t being disrespectful to Lashley last week. In fact, he hasn’t thought about anything Lashley has done in about two years. Owens said he and Rollins earned their title shots but Lashley has not.

Owens called himself the greatest superstar in history and wanted to give the fans a champion they can be happy about. (He was getting cheered and it sounded like they added booing to drown it out.) Owens didn’t think Lashley should be added to the match and was ready to go to Sonya Deville and Adam Pearce.

Seth Rollins interrupted and Lashley dared them to fight. Owens thought it was a good idea if he and Rollins fought Lashley together because he can’t take them both. Owens told Rollins to go into the ring first but Rollins wasn’t biting.

They argued for a bit until Big E interrupted. Big E called them all idiots. He reminded Lashley that he beat him to become champion and beat him inside of a steel cage. He had no problem doing it again.

Pearce and Deville interrupted. They announced that Lashley will be added to the title match at Day 1 if he can beat Big E, Rollins and Owens in separate singles matches tonight. Lashley seemed perfectly fine with this.

********

Earlier today, Randy Orton asked Riddle why he still had the sport coats from last week. Riddle wanted to reminisce over last week but Orton told him he should be getting ready for his match. Riddle thought they should become podcasters especially after seeing Pat McAfee’s new deal.

Riddle also thought it would be great if he was on Jackass. Orton thought that made sense considering Riddle was a jackass. Orton told him to impress against Otis tonight, and if he does, Orton would consider wearing the sport coat again.

********

Owens and Rollins complained to Deville and Pearce. After they left, Big E said he would remain champion after Day 1 no matter what happens.

********

The commentators mentioned that the finals of the tag tournament have been delayed two weeks “due to injury.” That was the extent of the explanation.

Otis (w/Chad Gable) defeated Tag Team Champion Riddle (w/Randy Orton) (7:24)

Otis slammed Riddle into the barricade which led to a break less than two minutes into the match. After the break, Orton actually got out of his chair to rally the crowd behind Riddle. Riddle avoided a charge and fought back with strikes but Otis blocked an RKO attempt and hit a World’s Strongest Slam for the clean pinfall win.

After the match, Orton tried to give Otis an RKO but Otis pushed him into Gable who ate an RKO instead. Otis decked Orton with a back elbow before leaving with Gable.

Doudrop has new music and it actually isn’t generic-sounding.

Bianca Belair defeated Doudrop (10:31)

Doudrop placed Belair upside down over the top rope and wrenched her legs before kicking her in the forehead. Doudrop followed with an elbow drop which sent Belair to the outside and us to a commercial break. Belair fought back after the break but Doudrop cut her off with a Michinoku Driver for two, followed by a back suplex for two.

Doudrop went up for a Vader Bomb but Belair countered into a powerbomb and followed with a 450 splash for the pinfall win. The crowd popped big for the finish.

As Belair celebrated post-match, Doudrop decked her from behind. (Belair was already at the stage, so I’m not sure how she didn’t see Doudrop get behind her.)

********

Kevin Owens told Kevin Patrick that this entire situation was trash, the fact that he had to wrestle Lashley first was trash, and the city of Saint Paul, Minnesota was trash. He planned on putting an end to this whole thing by beating Lashley right now.

[Second Hour]

The commentators announced the 15 college athletes joining the WWE NIL program.

They showed Gable Steveson in the front row and the crowd cheered. Owens was looking in his direction and appeared unimpressed. Lashley and MVP bumped fists with Steveson during their entrance.

(The commentators are being filmed from a lower angle than usual, probably so you can’t see that the second deck is empty.)

Bobby Lashley (w/MVP) defeated Kevin Owens (4:33)

Lashley avoided a senton and Owens crashed against the mats outside the ring. Lashley also tackled him into the barricade. Owens quickly recovered and hit a superkick in the ring. Owens drove Lashley shoulder-first into the post before hitting a cannonball and senton for just a one count. Owens hit a tornado DDT and barely got a two count.

Lashley followed with shoulder tackles, a neckbreaker and a Dominator. Owens tried fighting back but Lashley blocked a stunner and hit a spinebuster.

Lashley went for the Hurt Lock and Owens tapped out before he even locked it in (to avoid getting injured, which the announcers acknowledged).

They cut to Rollins who was pissed because Owens didn’t even try. Deville let him know that he was next.

Veer Mahaan is coming to Raw.

Becky Lynch promo

Lynch said last Monday was a big night for Liv Morgan because they had a great match but Lynch was still standing here as champion just like she said she would be. She acknowledged that some people were happy that she retained but others would be happy if Morgan won. However, if Morgan had won, the fans would just find some reason to dislike her.

The fans had a lot of opinions on how Lynch should do her job but they’ve never been in the ring, they’ve never changed the game and they’ve never broken down gender barriers. Lynch showed a picture of the disappointed fan from last week before saying she’d be champion for a very long time.

Morgan interrupted. She said the fans were tired of hearing Lynch’s broken record. Morgan said the fans weren’t doubting her, only Lynch was doubting her which is why she cheated. She showed a picture of Lynch holding the ropes on the pinfall. (There was a young Becky Lynch fan screaming at Morgan and the camera tried cutting her out of the shot.)

Morgan believed in herself, just like that little girl did (not the Lynch fan), and she challenged Lynch to a rematch at Day 1. Lynch said she didn’t cheat because she had to, she did it because it was easy. It was Morgan’s own fault for not being ready and she should have seen it coming. But Morgan doesn’t have the killer instinct which is why she did nothing about it.

Morgan jumped in the ring and tackled Lynch before knocking her out of the ring. Lynch shoved Morgan into the post before stomping on her arm which was trapped in the steel steps.

Lynch thought it was unfortunate that Morgan was suddenly injured because she accepted the challenge for Day 1. Lynch planned on going home to hang with her hot husband and beautiful baby while Morgan iced her arm.

Sarah Schreiber asked AJ Styles about his struggles with Omos. Styles said it was disrespectful that Omos walked out on him but he wasn’t ready to give up on their team. He spoke about Omos’ potential, especially with his guidance. He’s had a long career and has never seen anyone like Omos. He didn’t team with Omos to help his own career, he wanted to see Omos succeed.

Omos approached and asked Styles if they were good. Styles said he wasn’t giving up on their team and Omos felt the same way.

********

Dana Brooke and Reggie walked through a snowy park. He wanted to offer her advice on how to retain the 24/7 title and asked if she’d like to do that over hot chocolate. She accepted. They ran into R-Truth and Akira Tozawa who were dressed as a tree and snowman. Reggie fought with Truth and Tozawa as Brooke ran off. Tamina grabbed her but Brooke fought her off. Brooke and Reggie managed to escape over a snowbank.

********

Robert Roode & Dolph Ziggler defeated US Champion Damian Priest & Finn Bálor

This went through a break and Bálor ran wild on the heels following the break. Roode gave Priest a spinebuster outside the ring so Bálor wiped out both Roode and Ziggler with a flip dive.

Bálor gave Ziggler a shotgun dropkick but stopped what he was doing upon seeing Austin Theory who hopped on the apron. Bálor clotheslined Theory but Ziggler used the distraction to hit a Zig-Zag for the pinfall win.

Theory took a selfie over Bálor but bailed once Priest hit the ring. The good guys just stood there and watched as Theory bragged about getting a selfie.

********

Nikki ASH spoke to Rhea Ripley in the back. Nikki was showing self-doubt and admitted she hasn’t been sleeping well. Ripley told her that she wanted to be in a team with her because of the spirit that she’s shown. Nikki won Money in the Bank and beat Charlotte Flair to win the title, something Ripley herself couldn’t even do. Ripley wanted to see that Nikki again. Nikki appreciated the kind words.

Tag Team Champion Queen Zelina (w/Carmella) defeated Rhea Ripley (w/Nikki ASH) (0:50)

This was very dumb.

Carmella tried distracting Ripley so Nikki chased her into the ring. Carmella superkicked Nikki before Ripley chased away Carmella. Ripley kept her back turned to her opponent to ask Nikki if she was okay. Zelina used the distraction to roll-up Ripley for the quick pinfall win.

********

Owens offered to be in Rollins’ corner but Rollins didn’t want Owens anywhere near him. Owens explained why tapping out early was smart and said Rollins should take his help. Rollins didn’t want to hear it.

[Third Hour]

Seth Rollins defeated Bobby Lashley (w/MVP) via DQ (2:21)

Owens scampered down to ringside and punched Rollins in the face which caused a disqualification. Owens and Rollins celebrated because that meant Rollins technically won. Deville and Pearce entered and restarted the match, this time as with no disqualifications.

Bobby Lashley (w/MVP) defeated Seth Rollins in a no disqualification match (0:07)

Lashley immediately speared Rollins when the match was restarted for the pinfall win.

********

Apollo Crews and Commander Azeez were having a meeting with Vince McMahon until Austin Theory barged in to brag to McMahon about what he did to Bálor. McMahon wasn’t impressed. Theory tried to reason with McMahon but McMahon told him to shut up. McMahon had an idea. He wanted Theory to use the deadliest weapon in the world. He pulled out a pencil and an eraser. Theory didn’t understand.

********

Miz TV with Miz & Maryse

Maryse insulted Minnesota before introducing Miz. Miz “announced” the first inductee into the 2022 Hall of Fame: himself. They aired a Miz video package and played the Hall of Fame music as Miz and Maryse acted emotionally. They toasted to Miz beating Edge at Day 1 and sending him into permanent retirement.

Edge interrupted and got the biggest reaction out of anyone so far. He said sometimes the squeaky wheel doesn’t get the grease, sometimes it just squeaks and squeaks and squeaks and squeaks. Miz told him to stop. Edge admitted that he sounded annoying and that’s how everyone felt every time Miz opened his mouth.

Edge thought people might appreciate Miz more if he just shut up and thought Miz was overcompensating by being an obnoxious jagoff. Edge thought Miz would end up in the Hall of Fame one day and he wasn’t taking him lightly. Edge did plan on knocking the stupid constipated look off Miz’s face.

Miz chucked champagne in his face and attacked but Edge fought back and gave him a DDT. Edge went for a spear but Miz used Maryse as a shield. Miz kicked Edge in the face and gave him a Skull Crushing Finale.

Maryse wasn’t happy with Miz. He tried reasoning with her until she slapped him. Maryse marched to the back as Miz chased after her. (Edge disappeared.)

********

Rollins and Owens tried hyping up Big E in the back. Owens chanted “Big E rocks.” Big E told them to stay in the back because he would beat Lashley without them.

Later, MVP told Schreiber that Lashley would complete his Herculean effort tonight. Lashley would make everyone bow down to him at Day 1.

********

Non-title no disqualification match: Bobby Lashley (w/MVP) defeated WWE Champion Big E (17:44)

Big E immediately went for a table but Lashley knocked him down. Big E fought back and hit an STO before going back under the ring to grab the table. Lashley gave Big E a flatliner before wedging a steel chair between turnbuckles. Big E came back with belly-to-belly suplexes before driving Lashley into the chair.

After a break, Big E hit a vertical suplex, clubbed Lashley’s chest, and hit an apron splash. Lashley fought back and drove Big E into the post. Lashley set up a table next to the ring but when Big E tried a spear, Lashley got his knee up and hit a chokeslam through a table in the ring for a nearfall.

After a second break, Big E drove Lashley into the steel steps. Big E also slammed Lashley onto them and Lashley landed on the edge of the steps which looked brutal. Big E blocked a Hurt Lock but Lashley came right back with a spear.

Lashley seemingly had it won but Rollins and Owens ran down to break up the cover and attack. Big E tried fighting them off but they overwhelmed him. Lashley went after Rollins as Owens continued to attack Big E. (Rollins held Lashley down in a front face lock at one point.)

Big E put Owens through a table outside the ring and Lashley speared Rollins through a table set up in the corner.

Big E went in the ring and was ready to fight Lashley but MVP hit him from behind with his cane. Lashley followed with a spear for the pinfall win.

Lashley is officially in the title match at Day 1.

Bobby Lashley segment announced for WWE Raw

Bobby Lashley will address his recent actions on Raw this Monday.

WWE.com confirmed that Lashley will be at this Monday’s show at the Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul, Minnesota. This follows a segment from last week’s show where he assaulted all three participants in the upcoming triple threat match for the WWE Championship at Day 1 on January 1 in Atlanta.

The end of the opening segment to this Monday’s Raw saw Lashley attack Big E, Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins, who will meet for the title on January 1 in Atlanta. Later in the show, MVP explained that Lashley felt left out about not being a part of the discussion over the WWE Championship match.

Also set for this Monday’s Raw are the finals of the RK-Bro-Nament, a four-team tournament that will determine the next challengers for Randy Orton & Riddle’s Raw Tag Team titles. The Street Profits and The Mysterios will meet after the Street Profits defeated AJ Styles & Omos while The Mysterios defeated Alpha Academy (Chad Gable & Otis) on this week’s Raw.

Two-on-one handicap match announced for WWE Raw

A two-on-one handicap match is set for tonight’s Survivor Series fallout edition of Raw.

WWE has announced that Rey & Dominik Mysterio will face Bobby Lashley in a handicap match on Raw tonight. Rey and Dominik cut a promo ahead of tonight’s show challenging Lashley to the match.

Rey and Dominik both lost their spots on Raw’s Survivor Series men’s team due to Lashley. On Raw two weeks ago, Adam Pearce made Dominik put his place on the team on the line against Lashley. Lashley was dominant in the match and got the win by submitting Dominik with the Hurt Lock.

Rey was then removed from Team Raw after losing a match against Lashley in last Monday’s main event. Lashley submitted Rey with the Hurt Lock and refused to let go of the hold after the match. Pearce then made his way out and announced that Rey would no longer be on Team Raw. After Austin Theory attacked Dominik, Pearce said he liked Theory’s style and gave him Rey’s spot on the team.

Raw defeated SmackDown in the men’s five-on-five elimination match at Survivor Series last night. Seth Rollins was the sole survivor for Team Raw. Lashley was eliminated by countout as he fought with Drew McIntyre.

WWE is back at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York for tonight’s Raw. The Raw and SmackDown rosters will both be on hand following the storyline that began last night where Vince McMahon’s $100 million golden egg is missing after being stolen. The egg was from Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s movie “Red Notice” and was a gift from him.
