Michin vs. Arianna Grace added to WWE NXT

Two new matches have been added to NXT.

Michin will take on Arianna Grace, while Shayna Baszler will face Karmen Petrovic following the end of last week’s NXT Underground match.

Last Tuesday’s main event saw Lola Vice defeat Natalya thanks to interference by Baszler. The finish of the match had Baszler choke out Petrovic on the outside. Natalya was distracted long enough for Vice to take her down with strikes until the referee stopped the match.

Michin and Ariana Grace got involved with one another after both made their claim to become the first-ever NXT Women’s North American Champion. Both are expected to become part of the combine that takes place on Tuesday’s show that will determine qualifying matches for the upcoming ladder match at NXT Battleground that will crown the first champion.

The announced lineup for the Tuesday, May 7 WWE NXT:

  • NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez defends against Chelsea Green
  • Wes Lee vs. Josh Briggs
  • Meta-Four hosts Supernova Sessions with NXT Champion Trick Williams
  • Combine to decide qualifying matches for the NXT Women’s North American Championship ladder match
  • Michin vs. Arianna Grace
  • Shayna Baszler vs. Karmen Petrovic

Arianna Grace returns from injury at WWE NXT live event

Arianna Grace returned to in-ring action for the first time in nearly a year on Saturday.

Grace was defeated by Fallon Henley at the NXT live event in Melbourne, Florida. It was the first time the 28-year-old has wrestled since suffering a knee injury that required surgery last October.

While she was away from WWE, Grace competed in the Miss Universe Canada pageant. She appeared in the ring on Saturday wearing a sash and crown.

Grace referenced her return to the ring in a social media post early Sunday morning.

The daughter of former Intercontinental Champion and current Impact Director of Authority, Santino Marella, Grace signed with WWE in 2022. She made her in-ring debut that April on Level Up with a win over Amari Miller.

WWE NXT’s Arianna Grace reveals she’s injured, will require surgery

Arianna Grace is injured.

“Hey you guys!!!! Sadly, I’m injured and will have surgery next week. I’m going to do all I can to recover properly and come back stronger so I can get back to doing what I love, performing for all of YOU! I can’t wait to get back in the ring,” she posted to Twitter

WWE NXT Level Up results: Arianna Grace debuts

Damon Kemp defeated Dante Chen

While this wasn’t fantastic, it had more consistent narrative elements than the average NXT Level Up match, making it stand out.

Kemp started the match by taking Chen to the mat. After dominating on the ground, Kemp scored a suplex and a slam. Chen began to fight back with some targeted offense, focusing on the leg. This strategy yielded a long stint of control for Chen, who worked the leg for an extended period.

Kemp turned things around after a roll-up attempt caught Chen off guard. Kemp landed many power moves, punctuated with a powerslam. Kemp’s rally led to his victory.

Arianna Grace defeated Amari Miller

This was bad. Everything in it was sloppy, boring, or both.

Grace, who is the daughter of Santino Marella, was making her WWE in-ring debut here. She joined the Performance Center this March and is set to take part in the inaugural NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament.

Miller scored a takedown, establishing side control and a headlock immediately after the opening bell. She maintained this control for some time. Once Grace fought free, she landed an awkward arm drag to gain control of the arm. This also lasted forever.

Miller eventually escaped Grace’s clutches and launched a sloppy rally. Miller tried for her finish, but Grace rolled her up instead, leaving Grace with a win in her debut.

Andre Chase defeated Quincy Elliott

This match felt like a throwback throughout its entire runtime, both for better and worse. So if you’ve been missing your 80s TV main events, it might be worth checking this one out.

Elliott toyed with Chase from the opening bell, dancing on his opponent whenever the opportunity presented itself. The actual wrestling that followed mainly consisted of both men trying to land something substantial but being stuffed.

Elliott won out in the opening exchange, scoring a splash to establish a strong lead. Elliott took his time, eventually giving Chase enough time to launch a comeback. Chase scored a dropkick and crossbody, flipping the match’s momentum on its face. Chase continued to make offensive advances, eventually landing an impressive body slam on the much larger Elliott to bring this match to a close.

Arianna Grace to make WWE in-ring debut on NXT Level Up

The daughter of Santino Marella will make her WWE in-ring debut on this week’s edition of NXT Level Up.
