AEW Collision ratings down with earlier start time

Saturday night’s episode of AEW Collision averaged 226,000 viewers on TNT, down 16 percent from the previous week. This is the fourth-lowest audience total the show has done in 2024 so far.

In the 18-49 demo, Collision drew a 0.03 rating. That’s down 40 percent from last week and ties the lowest rating the show has ever done in that category. The rating placed Collision 19th on the daily cable charts in prime time.

For the second straight week, the ratings were calculated using Nielsen’s new “Panel + Big Data” system rather than the old panel-only model. The change has largely resulted in significantly lower numbers for wrestling than under the old panel-only measurements.

The show did air one hour earlier than usual on the East Coast and four hours earlier than usual on the West Coast. There was the usual heavy sports competition with college football games on several networks. Along with that, Collision went against the MLB playoffs and the UFC 320 prelims.

As compared to the same week in 2024, under the old ratings system, Collision’s overall viewership was down 8.9 percent while the 18-49 rating was down 40 percent. This year’s numbers do not include viewership from the HBO Max simulcast.

AEW Collision ratings down for All Out pre-show

Saturday afternoon’s Tailgate Brawl special edition of AEW Collision, which served as the All Out pre-show, averaged 184,000 viewers on TNT, down 65.6 percent from the episode that aired after Dynamite on Wednesday. It’s the third-lowest audience the show has ever done and the lowest overall since November 30, 2024.

The broadcast drew a 0.04 rating in the 18-49 demo. That’s down 66.7 percent from Wednesday and ties the second-lowest rating the show has ever done, only beating a 0.03 rating on that same November 30th episode from last year.

The show had major competition with college football on several cable and network TV stations and also aired outside of its normal time slot, along with going head-to-head with its own Zero Hour that aired on YouTube.

As compared to the same week in 2024, when the show aired in its regular time slot, Collision’s overall viewership was down 47 percent while the 18-49 rating was down 66.7 percent.

AEW September to Remember viewership up from previous Dynamite

The first two hours of Wednesday’s AEW September to Remember episode of Dynamite averaged 667,000 viewers on TBS, up 14.2% from the previous week — the largest audience for the show since August 13.

The third hour of the show, referenced as a one-hour episode of Collision, averaged 535,000 viewers. When compared to last Saturday’s two-hour Collision, the number was up 127.7% and the highest mark for Collision since April 26 when it followed an NBA playoff game.

The first two-hour block finished fourth on the primetime cable charts with a 0.14 rating in the 18-49 demo, up 7.7% from last week and the best rating the show had done in that category since August 20.

The third hour finished sixth with a 0.12 rating, up 140% from last week and the highest since May 29 which followed an NBA playoff game.

As compared to the same week in 2024, Dynamite was down 2.9% in overall viewers and 36.4% in 18-49 while the one hour of Collision was up 54.2% in overall viewers but was even in 18-49. This year’s numbers do not include viewers on HBO Max for either show.

AEW Collision ratings up in return to Saturday night

Back in its regular Saturday time slot, the June 21 episode of AEW Collision averaged 426,000 viewers on TNT. That’s up 7.3 percent from the previous episode that aired on Wednesday in a four-hour block with Dynamite.

This is the second-highest viewership total for the show since April 26.

In the 18-49 demo, Collision finished 13th on the prime time cable charts with a 0.10 rating. That’s up 11.1 percent from last week’s Wednesday broadcast and is also tied for the second-best rating the show has done in that category since the April 26 episode.

The TV charts were dominated by cable news coverage of the United States launching missile strikes at nuclear facilities in Iran. There was also a College Baseball World Series game on ESPN that aired head-to-head.

As compared to the same week in 2024, Collision’s overall viewership was down 0.7 percent while the 18-49 rating was down 28.6 percent. This year’s numbers do not include viewership on Max, which is likely why the cable TV audience for Collision skews so much older in 2025.
