Former ROH wrestler Brian Milonas announces retirement

Former ROH wrestler Brian Milonas is closing the book on his in-ring career.

After more than two decades competing in the ring, Milonas posted a statement today announcing his retirement. Milonas said that, even though he did not accomplish his ultimate goal of making it to WWE, he is proud of the career he had. He cited wrestling at Madison Square Garden — where he was part of ROH & NJPW’s G1 Supercard in 2019 — as a career highlight.

Milonas started out on the Northeast indies in the early 2000s and had his last match in February 2024. During the time he spent with ROH, he teamed with Beer City Bruiser as The Bouncers.

“Sometimes in life the mind wants something the body just isn’t capable of,” Milonas wrote. “Since I was a little boy professional wrestling has been something I’ve been passionate about. From watching the stars of the 80s all the way through till now I have loved professional wrestling.

“As an adult the pursuit of a career in pro wrestling has been my singular focus. Starting at age 19, I have dedicated so much time, effort and energy into making this crazy dream happen. While I fell short of my ultimate goal of becoming a WWE Superstar, I am very proud of my resume. I’ve had great times and made great friends along the way. My only regret is not stopping more in the moments to enjoy the journey.”

Milonas thanked his family, his friends and peers, and the fans for their support. Despite hanging up his boots, he is hoping to remain part of the industry in a non-wrestling capacity. He already has experience working as a trainer.

“I love professional wrestling and when the time is right I will figure out what my next steps are to be a part of the greatest business in the world,” he wrote. “For now though, it is time to close the book on my in-ring career.”

Dalton Castle return vignette airs on Ring of Honor TV

Dalton Castle appears ready to return to the ring.

A vignette featuring Castle and his Boys aired on Thursday’s edition of Ring of Honor TV on Honor Club. The Boys approached a spaceship in the desert, with Castle emerging from the vessel and announcing that it was time for them to “make some noise.”

No official return date was announced for Castle, who has been out of action since last July.

On an AEW Collision episode last July, Castle was knocked out in a match with Roderick Strong that led to the finish to the match being changed on the fly. It originally appeared that Castle was sidelined due to a concussion, but it would later emerge that Castle had suffered a torn biceps that required surgery and a lengthy injury rehabilitation.

Castle is a former ROH World Champion, ROH World Television Champion, and two-time ROH Six-Man Tag Team Champion.

Our report from this week’s Ring of Honor TV episode is available here.

Anthony Henry & JD Drake ‘100 percent officially cleared’ to return

Injuries have plagued them over the last year-plus, but The WorkHorsemen are now healthy and hoping to get back on the right track.

Anthony Henry announced on Wednesday night that he and JD Drake are both “100 percent officially cleared” to return to the ring. The two are signed to AEW where they wrestle as a tag team on AEW programming and in ROH. Henry has been out of action since October 2024, while Drake most recently competed in November 2024.

“It’s been a long year, but the workhorsemen are both 100% officially cleared to return to the ring,” Henry tweeted. “Let us rejoice!”

Henry was sidelined with major injuries at two different points in 2024, first suffering a broken jaw and later needing to undergo surgery for a torn biceps. He suffered the latter injury while facing Gabe Kidd at an October taping for ROH.

Drake has been out due to a foot injury, but he’ll be back in the ring this Saturday facing Josh Woods at Dean~! 2 in Glendale, Arizona. AEW is partnering with Action Wrestling for the show, which is a tribute to the late Dean Rasmussen of the Death Valley Driver Video Review website.
