Seth Rollins advances to WWE World Heavyweight Championship finals

Seth Rollins is going to Night of Champions.

Rollins defeated Finn Balor in the semifinals of the Raw bracket to determine a new World Heavyweight Champion. Rollins defeated Balor with a stomp to advance to Night of Champions on May 27, where he will face the winner of the SmackDown bracket, which will be determined this Friday.

Rollins defeated Damian Priest and Shinsuke Nakamura to advance to the semifinals in the Raw main event, while Balor defeated Cody Rhodes and The Miz. During the latter match, Lesnar dragged Rhodes out of the ring and gave him an F5, allowing Balor to get the win by pinning The Miz following the coup de gras.

Friday’s show will have AJ Styles, Rey Mysterio, and Edge battling it out in one triple threat match, while the other will have Bobby Lashley meet Austin Theory and Sheamus. The winners of those two matches will meet in the semifinals later that night. The winner of the SmackDown portion of the tournament will then meet Rollins at Night of Champions.

With the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns drafted to SmackDown, the World Heavyweight title will be exclusive to Raw as the brand’s top championship.
