Zelina Vega moves to SmackDown, WWE transfer window closing

Another member of the WWE roster has switched brands as the company has revealed that its transfer window is closing.

Zelina Vega was announced on Monday’s Raw as leaving the LWO and the Raw brand to join the SmackDown roster as part of the WWE transfer window. WWE also announced on commentary on Monday’s Raw that the upcoming Royal Rumble weekend will signal the end of the transfer window period, with rosters locked heading into WrestleMania season.

Vega seconded Rey Mysterio in his victory over Xavier Woods on Monday’s Raw on Netflix episode on her last night on the brand.

The transfer window was announced in December as a way to freshen the Raw, SmackDown, and NXT rosters without doing a full scale draft.

The wrestlers that have switched brands are:

Raw to SmackDown —

  • Damian Priest
  • The Miz
  • Braun Strowman
  • Zelina Vega
  • The Wyatt Sicks (Uncle Howdy, Erick Rowan, Dexter Lumis, Joe Gacy, Nikki Cross)

SmackDown to Raw —

  • Bayley
  • Austin Theory
  • Grayson Waller

The Wyatt Sicks officially move to WWE SmackDown

The Wyatt Sicks have a new home.

On Raw, Karrion Kross was seen leaving Adam Pearce’s locker room. When The Miz asked Kross about the Wyatt Sicks, Kross announced they had been moved to SmackDown. The group, consisting of Bo Dallas, Dexter Lumis, Joe Gacy, Erik Rowan, and Nikki Cross were last seen on the December 16 episode of Raw, where Lumis lost to Miz.

With the news that their rivals had moved to SmackDown, Miz and Kross were met by Sami Zayn, who asked if Pearce was in his office. After the two joked about Zayn ever winning a World title, Zayn got into the Miz’s face and a match was made for later in the night, which Zayn won following a blue thunder bomb.

Prior to the Wyatt Sicks, the only two names that have moved as a result of the transfer window is Braun Strowman, who also moved from Raw to SmackDown, and Logan Paul, who is now officially part of Raw. The transfer window was first announced in December as all three brands are negotiating transfers as part of WWE’s recent move to Netflix.

WWE announces talent transfer window between all three brands

The transfer window is coming.

The open of SmackDown saw Raw’s Chad Gable and American Made come out for a promo, mentioniong that he may be moving to SmackDown as part of the upcoming transfer window. Micheal Cole provided more details, saying that General Managers from Raw, SmackDown, and NXT were working together to bring wrestlers to new brands ahead of the new year.

Other stars from Raw were seen talking to SmackDown GM Nick Aldis throughout Friday’s show. In one segment, Aldis could be seen welcoming Dominik Mysterio into his office. In another, Aldis welcomed World Heavyweight Champion Gunther much to the chagrin of Carmelo Hayes, who wanted to talk to Aldis.

Raw’s move to Netflix has been heavily hyped in recent weeks and would mark the final change to WWE’s television schedule. In September, SmackDown moved from Fox to the USA Network. The following month, NXT moved from USA to the CW. Raw’s final show on USA will take place on December 30.
