WWE PC talent posts message critical of Hulk Hogan tributes on social media

A recruit in the WWE PC is critical of the tributes to Hulk Hogan.

Jamar Hampton, who was on season one of WWE LFG and has been seen on WWE Evolve, posted a message on Instagram that has since been deleted questioning the tributes made across the world following Hogan’s death last Thursday from cardiac arrest at the age of 71.

“Is this really who we should be celebrating? Do ya research,” he wrote.

He then linked to a YouTube video (warning: language) featuring a transcript from Hulk Hogan’s leaked sex tape recorded in 2007 where he made racist statements including use of the n-word, and admitted that he was “a racist, to a point.” When the video became public in 2015, WWE cut ties with Hogan, though they eventually reconciled in 2018.

WWE paid tribute to Hogan on Raw, SmackDown, and NXT in the last week, each show opening with a ten-bell salute. Two videos also aired, one with narration by Triple H and another with the song ‘Ordinary’ by Alex Warren, both highlighting Hogan’s life and career.

Triple H says there’s ‘five women that are great for every guy’ at the WWE PC

Triple H has nothing but praise for women’s wrestling in WWE.

In one episode of WWE Untold, which is now streaming on Netflix, he congratulates Bianca Belair before talking to producer Shane Helms, comparing the women on the roster to the men.

“Their pacing and the understanding of the moments and not arguing about the moments is better than the f****** dudes,” he told Helms. “To be honest, when you go down to the PC, there’s f****** five women that are great for every guy. It’s like they come in and six months later they’re like f****** really good. The guys are just like starting to figure s*** out. They’re just way smarter than us.”

WWE recently held their second-ever all-women PLE, Evolution, earlier this month. During the post-show press conference, Triple H wouldn’t say whether or not the show would become an annual event as he feels the women continue to inspire people all across their programming.

“I don’t know if it has to be a particular night for them to be inspired by the women, because I think the women do that every single Monday, Tuesday, Friday, whenever we have a PLE, wherever we’re having a Saturday Night’s Main Event. They’re role models, they’re inspiring people, they’re changing their lives. That sounds dramatic to some degree, but that is the kind of thing they do,” he said.

Other moments revealed during WWE Unreal include The Rock saying that the Final Boss is ‘the greatest heel professional wrestling has ever seen’, Steve Austin’s original role for WrestleMania 41, and WWE’s original plans for WrestleMania 41’s night one main event.

Report: WWE no longer requiring COVID testing for talent

A new report says that WWE has informed talent that COVID testing is no longer required.

Fightful Select is reporting that WWE Performance Center talent was informed this past weekend that they are no longer being required to take COVID testing twice a week, which previously had been mandatory. Additionally, WWE main roster talent have been informed that weekly testing is not required. It is not known if there is a vaccination qualifier to that or not.

WWE has been hit hard in the last week due to COVID-19 protocols. WWE’s show at Madison Square Garden on Sunday had both main events changed after most of the participants were removed from the show due to protocols. Big E vs. Kevin Owens vs. Seth Rollins in a triple threat match for the WWE title was changed to a cage match between Kevin Owens and Edge. A match between Bianca Belair and Becky Lynch for the Raw Women’s title never took place.

PWInsider reported this afternoon that a number of WWE producers are not at Raw tonight due to COVID-19 protocols.
