Myles Borne wins WWE NXT North American title

Myles Borne is the North American Champion.

Borne defeated Ethan Page on Tuesday’s NXT to win the title for the first time. The finish had Vanity Project come out and strike Borne with one of their title belts, earning Page a nearfall. Hank & Tank then came out and brawled with Vanity Project as Ricky Saints appeared on the turnbuckle. Joe Hendry took Saints back to the floor and they brawled. Page went for the twisted grin but Borne shoved Page into the turnbuckle, which was exposed during the chaos. Borne then followed with the zig zag to pick up the victory.

Page had been champion since last May when he defeated Saints during an episode of NXT. At 273 days, he is the longest-reigning champion in the title’s history.

Recent weeks had shown Page encouraging Borne to take a different approach in his career, with Borne rejecting his advice each time. On last week’s show after Page retained the title over Shiloh Hill, Borne came with a chair for the save and helped Hill take out The Vanity Project. He then wrapped the chair around Page’s knee and demanded a title match for next week. Page agreed, but then mocked Borne saying he knew he wouldn’t follow through with the attack. Borne then stomped on the chair to end the show.

SmackDown star to challenge for North American title at WWE NXT house show

Ethan Page has an opponent for NXT Cleveland.

In a social media post, Ethan Page was bragging about his win over TNA star Trey Miguel at Friday’s house show in Detroit when he came across Johnny Gargano, who responded with an insult. The two then got into a brawl that had to be separated by the rest of the roster. Gargano then declared he’d be going after Page’s North American title at NXT Cleveland on Saturday night at the Agora Theatre.

Page responded to the promo on social media.

“I’m not gonna carry your bags, Johnny … but I’ll pack them for you. NXT is my show now,” he wrote.
