WWE Backlash France PLE set for May 2024

WWE is going to France in 2024.

Next year’s Backlash event will be the first-ever PLE to be held in the country, WWE announced on Thursday. The show will be titled WWE Backlash France and take place from the LDLC Arena in Lyon-Decines on Saturday, May 4, 2024.

From WWE.com:

WWE, part of TKO Group Holdings, today announced that WWE Backlash France will be the first-ever WWE Premium Live Event to be held in France, emanating from the LDLC Arena in Lyon-Decines on Saturday, May 4, 2024.

Additionally, SmackDown will emanate from the LDLC Arena on Friday, May 3, 2024, marking the first time SmackDown will broadcast from France.

The LDLC arena holds up to 16,000 attendees for concerts and 12,000 for sporting events.

A report from Fightful last month noted Backlash would likely take place in France next year. However, at the time, it was believed Paris would likely be the city to host the show.

The news follows last month’s announcement that WWE would host its first-ever PLE from Germany, Bash in Berlin, on August 31, 2024.
