Daniel Bryan showcase mode announced for WWE 2K19

The highs and lows of Daniel Bryan’s career will be experienced in this year’s WWE 2K19 Showcase mode.

The story mode, which was revealed on WWE’s website this morning, will have you control Daniel Bryan as you navigate through 12 matches in his career. Along with the matches, there will be nine arenas that played a role in Bryan’s career, and there will be 11 different versions of Bryan playable, each with their own movesets and appearances. There will also be 15 interview packages and 20 video cutscenes that will be interjected throughout the mode.

The video to debut the new mode interjected footage of his retirement speech and the speech he gave when he was cleared to return to WWE action.

WWE 2K19 will be out on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on October 9. Pre-ordering now will enable you to obtain Ronda Rousey and Rey Mysterio as playable characters upon release. Pre-order the Deluxe edition and you’ll be able to play the game four days early.

Ronda Rousey confirmed as WWE 2K19 pre-order character

A second pre-order bonus character has been announced for this year’s WWE video game.

As expected, Ronda Rousey will be one of the two playable bonus characters for those who pre-order WWE 2K19. That was officially confirmed on Raw tonight, with a commercial airing that included the voice of the late Roddy Piper talking with Rousey on an episode of his podcast from 2015 and saying how special Rousey is, that she gives people hope, and that he’s proud of her.

2K Sports revealed Rey Mysterio as the first bonus character for the game last month.

Kurt Angle, Goldberg, Arnold Schwarzenegger (as The Terminator), Sting, and The Ultimate Warrior were the last five people to be featured as pre-order exclusives.

WWE 2K19 will be released for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on October 9, 2018. AJ Styles is the cover star for the game.

Rey Mysterio officially confirmed for WWE 2K19

Rey Mysterio will officially be one of the pre-order bonus characters for WWE 2K19.

A commercial with Daniel Bryan, Jeff Hardy, The Miz, Bobby Roode, Asuka, Bobby Lashley, Charlotte Flair, and AJ Styles wearing Mysterio masks aired during Raw tonight. It closed with Mysterio announcing that he was back in the video game and 2K noting that he will be a playable pre-order bonus character.

Whether or not Mysterio will be making an in-ring return to WWE hasn’t been confirmed. During Rey Mysterio Day in San Diego last week, Mysterio said he was possibly getting ready to return to the company if they could agree to terms and said the sides were negotiating a three-year deal.

Those who pre-order the game will also be able to play as another bonus character that has yet to be announced, which is expected to be Ronda Rousey.

Kurt Angle, Goldberg, Arnold Schwarzenegger (as The Terminator), Sting, and The Ultimate Warrior were the last five pre-order exclusives.

WWE 2K19 will be released on October 9, 2018. AJ Styles is the cover star for the game.

AJ Styles confirmed as WWE 2K19 cover star

AJ Styles has been confirmed as the cover star for the next WWE video game.

2K Sports held a press conference this morning to announce that Styles would be on the cover of WWE 2K19. The game will be released for PS4, Xbox One, and PC worldwide on October 9, but few other details were revealed at the press conference.

Pro Wrestling Sheet first reported that Styles would be on the cover of the game. Their report also stated that Ronda Rousey would be the pre-order bonus character, like Kurt Angle, Goldberg, Arnold Schwarzenegger (as The Terminator), Sting, and The Ultimate Warrior have been in the past, and that Rey Mysterio was there for the filming of this year’s commercial. 2K didn’t announce the pre-order character or release the commercial during the press conference.

Styles spoke about being a big fan of video games and promoted a million dollar contest where someone will have the chance to play against him in 2K19. Those who complete a new mode that has yet to be announced can submit a promotional video for the contest, with four semifinalists then being chosen to face off against each other. The winner will receive $1 million if they defeat Styles.

There will be standard, deluxe edition, and collector’s edition versions of the game released.

Seth Rollins, Brock Lesnar, Steve Austin, John Cena, and The Rock were the last five wrestlers to be featured on the cover of the annual WWE video game.

AJ Styles reportedly on the cover of WWE 2K19

WWE 2K19 will reportedly feature AJ Styles on the cover, with Ronda Rousey and Rey Mysterio also being added to this year’s roster.

Pro Wrestling Sheet reported on their website today that Styles would be on the cover of the game, set to be released this fall. In addition, Ronda Rousey is said to be a pre-order bonus character. Both were in Memphis this week for photo shoots related to the cover.

Another name reportedly set for WWE 2K19 is Rey Mysterio. He is said to be a part of an upcoming commercial for the game alongside Jeff Hardy. The two recently took a picture together, with Rey Mysterio tagging his location as “Jupiter”. The report states that Hardy, along with a few other wrestlers including the cover star, will be a part of the commercial.

The first details regarding WWE 2K19 will be announced this coming Monday morning at 8 a.m. PT. There will be a live press conference that will be streamed on Twitch, Facebook, YouTube and wwe.2k.com.
