Mickie James reveals who will induct her into TNA Hall of Fame

A former WWE and TNA women’s champion will be inducting Mickie James into the TNA Wrestling Hall of Fame this weekend.

This Sunday (October 12), James will be honored with a TNA Hall of Fame induction at Bound for Glory 2025. We now know that Lisa Marie Varon — formerly known as Victoria in WWE and Tara in TNA — will be the person inducting her.

“Someone who was pretty synonymous with the whole introduction of Hardcore Country. And I think that we made som incredible, historic moments together — and that would be our dear friend, Lisa Marie,” James announced in an interview with SoCal Val.

James said she personally chose Varon to do the induction speech. She didn’t know if Varon’s WWE legends contract would cause any issues, but the request was quickly approved by TNA, which has a close working relationship with WWE.

Along with being past colleagues and in-ring rivals, James and Varon are good friends and used to host a podcast called GAW TV together.

The Knockouts division will be the focus of this year’s TNA Hall of Fame class with The Beautiful People (Angelina Love & Velvet Sky) also being inducted.

Bound for Glory is being held at the Tsongas Center in Lowell, Massachusetts on Sunday. Trick Williams vs. Mike Santana for the TNA World Championship will headline the pay-per-view.

Victoria reveals she’s signed a WWE Nostalgic contract

Lisa Marie Varon, better known to wrestling fans as Victoria (or Tara in TNA) has signed a new deal with WWE.

The former Women’s Champion revealed she has accepted WWE’s offer of a Nostalgic contract (formerly known as a legends deal, also sometimes referred to as a ‘Nostalgia’ contract) which allows the company to use her likeness for merchandise, action figures, and in video games.

Victoria posted about the news to social media on Saturday, writing:

“Here it is, my big announcement! Earlier this week I signed a WWE Nostalgic contract. I am so excited and honored that @wwe reached out to me about this! It’s a true honor to be part of the WWE Universe again. This doesn’t mean I will be hopping back into the ring (but never say never!). It does mean I will be included in future things such as video games and maybe some new official merch! Big thank you to #WWE and all my fans and supporters, I hope you are excited about this as I am!”

Victoria is a two-time WWE Women’s Champion, five-time TNA Knockouts Champion, received the Cauliflower Alley Club’s Women’s Wrestling Award in 2015, and was inducted into the Women’s Wrestling Hall of Fame Class of 2024. However, she has yet to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

The Headbangers Mosh & Thrasher revealed in December that they had signed similar nostalgic deals with WWE. They were added to the WWE 2K24 game in a DLC package earlier this summer.

Kurt Angle says he signed a similar deal with WWE in 2022. He detailed what the contract means in an interview with Bubba the Love Sponge, saying:

“I signed a nostalgia contract, which is basically just a merchandise contract. So, they pay me per appearance, and they gave me a really nice deal with the merchandise contract. They gave me a bunch of money upfront, which is really cool but I’m not obligated to just the WWE, so I can go do my own appearances and stuff.”
