Four wrestlers advance to WWE UK tournament quarterfinals

Four wrestlers advanced to the quarterfinals of WWE’s United Kingdom Championship tournament as Download Festival began today.

Zack Gibson defeated Amir Jordan, Flash Morgan Webster defeated James Drake, Travis Banks defeated El Ligero, and Ashton Smith defeated Joseph Conners. They join Jack Gallagher in the next round, who advanced by defeating Drew Gulak during a set of NXT television tapings last month.

With that, Gibson vs. Gallagher and Banks vs. Smith (on opposite sides of the bracket) are set for the quarterfinals. The remaining first round matches will take place as Download Festival continues over the next two days.

The quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals will be held at Royal Albert Hall on June 18th, with the winner challenging for Pete Dunne’s WWE UK Championship the next night. The Royal Albert Hall shows will then air on the WWE Network on June 25th and 26th at 3 p.m. Eastern time.

On the bracketology special for the tournament, it was noted that the first round matches will be released on WWE’s digital and social media platforms.
