Number one contender’s match added to WWE SmackDown

A tag team number one contender’s match is set to take place on SmackDown tonight.

WWE has announced that tonight’s SmackDown will feature a triple threat match between Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince & Kit Wilson), The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford), and The Brawling Brutes (Ridge Holland & Butch). The winning team will be next in line to challenge Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions Damian Priest & Finn Balor.

With an assist from Drew McIntyre, Judgment Day retained their titles against Cody Rhodes & Jey Uso on Raw this past Monday.

It’s also been announced that Damage CTRL will appear on tonight’s SmackDown episode. Last week, Asuka aligned with Damage CTRL by turning against Bianca Belair and Charlotte Flair. Belair, Charlotte, and Shotzi are expected to be part of a team that will battle IYO SKY, Bayley, Kairi Sane & Asuka in WarGames at Survivor Series.

Tonight’s SmackDown takes place from the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana. Here’s everything that’s been announced for the show:

  • LA Knight vs. Jimmy Uso
  • Solo Sikoa appears
  • Number one contender’s match: Pretty Deadly vs. The Street Profits vs. The Brawling Brutes
  • Damage CTRL appear

Judgment Day vs. Brawling Brutes added to WWE SmackDown

Following their Undisputed WWE Tag Team title win at Payback, Finn Balor & Damian Priest will be in action on SmackDown tonight.

WWE has announced that Judgment Day (Balor & Priest) will face off against The Brawling Brutes (Ridge Holland & Butch) on tonight’s episode of SmackDown. It appears to be a non-title match.

Last Saturday, Balor & Priest defeated Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn in a Steel City Street Fight to become the new Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions. Interference by Rhea Ripley, Dominik Mysterio, and JD McDonagh led to Balor & Priest getting the victory.

There was months of tension between Balor and Priest leading into Payback. Much of that tension was due to Balor’s friendship with McDonagh. In an attempt to get on Priest’s good side, McDonagh gifted Priest a custom Money in the Bank briefcase on Raw this Monday.

SmackDown is taking place from TD Garden in Boston tonight. Here’s what’s been announced for the episode:

  • AJ Styles vs. Jimmy Uso
  • Charlotte Flair & Shotzi vs. Damage CTRL (IYO SKY & Bayley)
  • Judgment Day (Finn Balor & Damian Priest) vs. The Brawling Brutes (Ridge Holland & Butch)

Brawling Brutes vs. Imperium tag tournament match set for WWE SmackDown

Another Tag Team title contender’s tournament match has been made official for tonight’s SmackDown.

WWE announced this afternoon that The Brawling Brutes (Ridge Holland & Butch) will take on Imperium (Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci) on SmackDown tonight. It will be a first-round match in the tournament to decide the next challengers for The Usos’ SmackDown Tag Team titles.

Tonight is the beginning of the contender’s tournament. A first-round match with Sheamus & Drew McIntyre facing The Viking Raiders will also take place on the episode.

While The Usos have defended their Raw and SmackDown Tag Team titles as one undisputed championship, that has changed in recent weeks. The Judgment Day (Dominik Mysterio & Damian Priest) will challenge The Usos for the Raw Tag Team titles on Raw’s 30th anniversary episode this coming Monday.

SmackDown is being held at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan tonight. Here’s the updated lineup for the show:

  • Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens will sign the contract for their Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match at the Royal Rumble
  • SmackDown Tag Team title contender’s tournament first-round match: Sheamus & Drew McIntyre vs. The Viking Raiders
  • SmackDown Tag Team title contender’s tournament first-round match: Ridge Holland & Butch vs. Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci

WWE SmackDown video highlights: Ready for war

Last night’s SmackDown set the stage for the men’s WarGames match at Survivor Series.

Sheamus made his return as The Brawling Brutes fought with The Bloodline to close last night’s show. The Brawling Brutes also got some assistance, with Drew McIntyre helping them even the odds against Roman Reigns’ crew.

It appears that the men’s WarGames match will be The Bloodline (Roman Reigns, The Usos, Solo Sikoa & Sami Zayn) vs. The Brawling Brutes (Sheamus, Ridge Holland & Butch), Drew McIntyre, and one more partner who has yet to be revealed. Zayn wasn’t on last night’s show due to personal reasons.

It was also confirmed that Ronda Rousey will be defending her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Shotzi at Survivor Series. Shotzi won a number one contender’s six-pack challenge last night to earn the title shot.

Plus, The Usos retained their Undisputed WWE Tag Team titles against The New Day, The Viking Raiders returned with Sarah Logan, and the SmackDown World Cup tournament kicked off.

The Brawling Brutes to appear on WWE NXT

The Brawling Brutes will appear on tomorrow’s NXT.

While previewing Tuesday’s card, announcers said that The Brawling Brutes (Sheamus, Butch, and Ridge Holland) would be appearing on the show.

The Brawling Brutes have been feuding with Imperium (Gunther, Giovanni Vinci, and Ludwig Kaiser) in recent weeks. Sheamus is set to meet with Gunther in a rematch for the Intercontinental title on SmackDown this coming Friday, while both trios will meet in a Good Old Fashioned Donnybrook match at Extreme Rules this Saturday.

Here is the lineup so far for Tuesday’s NXT. It will be the first live show in two weeks:

  • Qualifying match for the North American title ladder match at Halloween Havoc: Andre Chase vs. Von Wagner
  • Mandy Rose, Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne vs. Alba Fyre, Nikkita Lyons & Zoey Stark

‘Good Old Fashioned Donnybrook’ six-man tag added to WWE Extreme Rules

Another stipulation match has been made official for WWE’s Extreme Rules pay-per-view.

It was announced today that Imperium (Gunther, Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci) and The Brawling Brutes (Sheamus, Ridge Holland & Butch) will meet in a “Good Old Fashioned Donnybrook” six-man tag match at Extreme Rules. The match will be “an absolute free-for-all brawl with numerous weapons at every turn that guarantee a display of all-out mayhem.”

Extreme Rules is taking place on Saturday, October 8. The night before the pay-per-view, Gunther will defend his Intercontinental title against Sheamus on SmackDown’s season premiere episode. That’s a rematch from Clash at the Castle, where Gunther retained against Sheamus in a hard-hitting instant classic.

On SmackDown last week, Holland & Butch challenged The Usos for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team titles. Imperium got involved in the match and cost The Brawling Brutes a chance to become champions.

Sheamus also wrestled in a Good Old Fashioned Donnybrook match this July, losing to Drew McIntyre on an episode of SmackDown.

Extreme Rules is being held at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. The updated card for the PPV is listed below:

  • Extreme Rules match: SmackDown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan defends against Ronda Rousey
  • Ladder match: Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair defends against Bayley
  • Fight Pit match: Matt Riddle vs. Seth Rollins
  • Strap match: Drew McIntyre vs. Karrion Kross
  • “I Quit” match: Edge vs. Finn Balor
  • Good Old Fashioned Donnybrook match: Imperium (Gunther, Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci) vs. The Brawling Brutes (Sheamus, Ridge Holland & Butch)
