WWE SmackDown moving networks for two weeks in February

WWE SmackDown is shifting networks for a couple of episodes next month.

Because of the Winter Olympics, SmackDown will not be airing on USA Network on either Friday, February 13 or February 20. Post Wrestling reports that the show will instead air on Syfy those nights, with a spokesperson from USA Network confirming the change. Both USA Network and Syfy are owned by NBC Universal, so Syfy is where WWE programming has been moved to whenever there is a conflict with sporting events like this.

SmackDown moved back to a three-hour format at the start of 2026 and will continue to be a three-hour show for at least the next several months. The Syfy episodes will be three hours as well, airing in SmackDown’s regular 8-11 p.m. Eastern time slot. The respective episodes are taking place from Dallas, Texas and Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Outside of the United States, these shows will air live on Netflix as usual.

SmackDown then returns to USA Network on February 27 for the final episode before Elimination Chamber.

The Winter Olympics begin on February 6 and run through February 22, serving as significant competition for the wrestling shows airing during that stretch.

CM Punk appears in trailer for Syfy series ‘Revival’

Syfy has released the trailer for “Revival,” the channel’s soon-to-debut series that CM Punk has a role in.

The series will make its debut with season one premiering on Syfy at 10 p.m. Eastern on Thursday, June 12. It’s a zombie show where, on “Revival Day,” the recently deceased suddenly come back to life again:

On one miraculous day in rural Wisconsin, the recently deceased suddenly rise from their graves. But this is no zombie story as the ‘revived’ appear and act just like they once were. When local officer and single mother Dana Cypress is unexpectedly thrown into the center of a brutal murder mystery of her own, she’s left to make sense of the chaos amidst a town gripped by fear and confusion where everyone, alive or undead, is a suspect.

Punk’s character appears at the 1:15 mark in the trailer, which can be watched below:

“Revival Day gave us a second chance, and I’m not going to let that go to waste,” he says.

Punk told Deadline last month that he’s “very excited” about this show and the role he has in the upcoming horror movie “Night Patrol.” He noted that it’s a lot easier to do outside projects now than it used to be in WWE.

“It’s a lot easier now. It was harder back in the day because wrestling was the lion’s share of what I did, and I wasn’t allowed to do other stuff,” Punk said. “I have pre-existing relationships and projects I work on that are grandfathered into my contract. I typically do Monday Night Raw live on Netflix every week. But if I need to dip out for two weeks to shoot an independent film, I can always do that. We’re trying to petition Netflix to do a third season of ‘Heels.’ I have two projects coming down the line that I’m very excited about. One is the TV show ‘Revival’ that will air on Syfy, and a really, really fun movie called ‘Night Patrol,’ written and directed by Ryan Prows. I don’t want to give away too much but it’s night patrol, LAPD, Bloods, Crips, vampires.”

Punk and Roman Reigns were both betrayed by Paul Heyman as Heyman aligned with Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 41. On the Raw after WrestleMania, Punk and Reigns were laid out by Heyman’s newly formed duo of Rollins and Bron Breakker.

First hour of WWE Raw to air commercial-free on Syfy

The first hour of WWE Raw’s SummerSlam fallout episode will be airing commercial-free.

Ahead of tonight’s show, WWE posted a video with Raw General Manager Adam Pearce announcing that the first hour of the episode will be shown without commercial interruption. Due to the Olympics, Raw is airing on Syfy for the second straight week. The show will be back on USA Network next Monday.

Raw is taking place live from CFG Bank Arena in Baltimore tonight. Pearce stated that Chad Gable & The Creed Brothers vs. The Wyatt Sicks will main event the episode. It’s the first match for The Wyatt Sicks since debuting as a faction.

Pearce also said SmackDown wrestlers Grayson Waller & Austin Theory competing tonight is the result of “wheeling and dealing” between Pearce and SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis. Waller & Theory are facing The Miz & R-Truth on tonight’s show.

Here’s everything that’s been announced for Raw:

WWE Raw (Monday, August 5) —

  • The fallout from SummerSlam including appearances by World Heavyweight Champion Gunther, CM Punk, and Drew McIntyre
  • Chad Gable & The Creed Brothers vs. The Wyatt Sicks
  • Sheamus vs. Ludwig Kaiser
  • Sonya Deville vs. Dakota Kai
  • The New Day vs. AOP
  • Awesome Truth vs. Grayson Waller & Austin Theory
  • The first hour will air commercial-free

WWE Raw to air on Syfy for the next two weeks

WWE Raw is heading to Syfy.

It was announced during Raw that next week’s show, as well as the show on August 5 will air on Syfy. This is due to Olympics coverage airing on the USA Network, with events kicking off later this week.

Announced for next week’s Raw in St. Paul, Minnesota is Xavier Woods taking on Karrion Kross and Seth Rollins giving referee instructions to CM Punk and Drew McIntyre prior to their match at SummerSlam. Ahead of his match against Damian Priest at SummerSlam, Gunther will also be in action taking on Finn Balor of The Judgment Day.

NXT will also be preempted on the USA Network starting next week. It was previously announced that the Great American Bash television special would be a two-week event, airing July 30 and August 6 on Syfy. One match already confirmed for the event is Roxanne Perez defending the NXT Women’s Championship against Thea Hail.

WWE’s Liv Morgan to appear on ‘Chucky’ TV series

A WWE star is set to appear on an upcoming episode of USA Network and Syfy’s “Chucky” television series.

It was announced today that former SmackDown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan will appear as a guest star on the Wednesday, October 26 episode of “Chucky.” It’s the fourth episode of the show’s second season.

The appearance was revealed in an interaction between Morgan and the “Chucky” Twitter account:

In an interview with USA Insider, Morgan said she’s been a fan of Chucky and the “Child’s Play” franchise her entire life.

“I feel like I turned into a horror buff as I got older, but I’ve been a fan of the ‘Child’s Play’ franchise my entire life,” Morgan said. “I’ve seen every movie and season one of ‘Chucky’ was something that I just loved. My fandom for ‘Chucky’ runs very, very deep — I have like, three Chucky dolls in my home.”

There was also a collaboration between WWE and “Chucky” when the Chucky doll was a special guest at last year’s NXT Halloween Havoc.

Morgan lost the SmackDown Women’s Championship to Ronda Rousey at Extreme Rules last Saturday. Their extreme rules match ended with Morgan passing out in a submission.

The “Chucky” cameo is the second acting role Morgan has been announced for this year. In June, it was revealed that Morgan will make her film debut in “The Kill Room.” The movie is a darkly comic thriller. Morgan will play “an art purist who bemoans the vapidness of art dealers.”

WWE Raw to air on SyFy twice in February

WWE Raw will be airing on SyFy twice in February.

NBC Universal has unveiled their Olympics schedule, and USA Network, Raw’s typical cable home, will be airing coverage of the Winter Olympics on Monday, February 7 and Monday, February 14. As a result, Raw will be pushed to the SyFy Channel. PW Insider was first to report the move.

While SmackDown is regularly bumped to FS1 during the MLB playoffs, Raw being moved has not been a regular occurrence since USA stopped preempting the show for the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in 2017.

In 2021, NXT aired twice on SyFy when it was bumped from USA due to coverage of the Summer Olympics.

SyFy was also the cable home of SmackDown from 2010 to 2015 following MyNetworkTV ceasing to produce new programming and a new rights fees agreement between WWE and NBC Universal that also saw Raw stay on USA.

WWE NXT to air on Syfy for two weeks, matches set for next Tuesday

NXT is officially shifting stations for its next two episodes.

WWE confirmed tonight that NXT will air on Syfy for each of the next two weeks. Those are the Tuesday, July 27 and Tuesday, August 3 episodes of the show. The episodes will air on Syfy at NXT’s usual start time of 8 p.m. Eastern.

Both episodes will be taped in advance. WWE is holding tapings for the episodes at the Capitol Wrestling Center in Orlando, Florida tomorrow (Wednesday, July 21).

The change is due to there being a scheduling conflict with the Olympics airing on USA Network.

Three matches have been announced for next Tuesday’s NXT. They are:

  • Adam Cole vs. Bronson Reed
  • Pete Dunne & Oney Lorcan vs. Tommaso Ciampa & Timothy Thatcher
  • NXT Breakout Tournament first-round match: Carmelo Hayes vs. Josh Briggs

Duke Hudson and Odyssey Jones have already advanced to the next round of the Breakout Tournament. Hayes vs. Briggs and Trey Baxter vs. Joe Gacy are the final two first-round matchups. The winner of the tournament will receive a shot at the NXT title of their choosing.
