NXT prospect confirms new WWE ring name

An NXT prospect confirmed a new in-ring name after WWE filed for a couple of trademarks this week.

WWE had filed for two trademarks earlier, ‘Shido Ash’ and ‘The Mog Squad’. NXT prospect Shady Elnahas confirmed his new WWE name is Shido Ash via Instagram. There are no details on the identity of the other name trademarked.

Elnahas signed with WWE in May 2025 after being offered a developmental contract and joined the Performance Center. He is an Olympian and gold medalist at the Commonwealth Games, Pan American Games and IJF Grand Slam for judo. He has been competing at NXT house shows and is yet to make his official televised in-ring debut.

In February this year, Tiffany Stratton took to social media to confirm that she was dating Elnahas. The couple even got dedicated tattoos for each other.

Last month, Elnahas faced Tyriek Igwe at an NXT house show in Lakeland, Florida. Meanwhile, Stratton is an active competitor on SmackDown. She made her main roster debut in 2024 and shortly after won the Money in the Bank briefcase. Stratton cashed it in on Nia Jax to capture the WWE Women’s Championship.

She lost the title to Jade Cargill in November 2025, ending her 300+ day reign. Stratton returned at the Royal Rumble this year as the 30th entrant and made it to the finals before Liv Morgan eliminated her.

WWE touts signing of three Olympians

WWE is touting the arrival of three new Performance Center recruits.
