The UFC ends a busy month of February back at the UFC Apex for the last time until at least April, this time with a battle of light heavyweights looking to move into title contention headlining.

Light heavyweights Nikita Krylov and Ryan Spann square off in the five-round main event as both will be looking to extend two-fight win streaks. Krylov is coming off back-to-back wins over Alexander Gustafsson and Volkan Oezdemir, while Spann has picked up a pair of wins over Ion Cutelaba and Dominick Reyes. The winner of this fight could find themselves in a title eliminator bout type fight in their next outing.

Also on the main card is a middleweight battle as Andre Muniz looks to continue his impressive run against Brendan Allen, heavyweights Augusto Sakai and Don’Tale Mayes square off, and former TUF winner Tatiana Suarez returns after nearly four years out of action as she moves to the women’s flyweight division, where she’ll take on Montana De La Rosa.

Alves lands a couple of left hooks. Aliev scores a takedown and is in the guard of Alves. He pushes it against the fence. Aliev looking to keep pressure on Alves on the mat. Aliev has control but has yet to even throw a strike halfway thru the first. Aliev finally lands one right hand to the body, but then starts to land more to the body. We have a timeout as Alves is claiming that Aliev bit his finger. There is a mark on Alves’ finger and Aliev is deducted a point as he did bite Alves. They get back to action and Aliev lands a body kick. Alves lands a leg kick and Aliev shoots for a takedown against the fence. 9-9 round due to the point deduction.

Alves lands a high body kick. Aliev gets a takedown and Alves grabs the neck looking for a guillotine choke. Alves looks like he has it locked in but Aliev is trying to escape as he’s fighting the hands. Aliev gets his head popped out and is in the guard of Alves and both are landing punches. Aliev landing big punches from the top. Aliev continuing to land from the top. He lands more from the top to end the round. 10-9 Aliev, 19-18 Aliev.

Alves lands a big knee that hurts Aliev and Aliev gets a takedown. Alves gets a guillotine choke locked in and it is tight. He’s in the mount position with the choke. He lets go but Alves is in full mount. Alves gets warned for landing to the back of the head as he’s landing punches. Aliev is able to sweep and reverse to the top. Aliev landing from the top and keeping Alves planted on the mat. Aliev with big right hands from the top as he has Alves’ leg trapped. > Lightweights- Joe Solecki (12-3, 4-1 UFC) vs. Carl Deaton (17-5 2 NC, 0-0 UFC)

Solecki looking for a takedown against the fence after an exchange to start. Solecki gets Deaton down to the mat. They get to their feet and Solecki is jumped on the bac with the body triangle locked in and working for a choke. He has it around the chin and is squeezing. Deaton is fighting the hands. Solecki nearly had it a couple of times. Deaton grabbed the fence. They make it to the end of the round. 10-9 Solecki.

Deaton throws a combo but Solecki ducks under and gets a takedown. Deaton is trying to grab an arm and threaten with a kimura. Solecki gets the back and lands some body shots. Solecki is working for a choke as both land some punches. Solecki gets the rear-naked choke locked in and it is in deep and Deaton goes out. Big finish for Solecki.

Osbourne with a body kick. They trade leg kicks. They continue to trade kicks and Osbourne lands to the body. Osbourne lands a series of leg kicks. They trade and Johnson gets a takedown but they scramble up. Johnson has the body lock and lands some knees. They break and trade late. 10-9 Osbourne.

They trade and Johnson looks for a takedown but Osbourne defends. They break and Johnson lands a groin strike and we have a timeout. They get back to action and Osbourne lands some leg kicks. They trade and Johnson pushes it against the fence as they clinch. They trade late. 10-9 Johnson, 19-19.

They’re trading to start the third and they clinch with Johnson in control. They break and Osbourne has clinch control and the back then they break. They trade punches and Osbourne gets a takedown. He has control and they get to their feet. They break and Johnson tries for a takedown but Osbourne sprawls and they scramble. They trade late. Close fight. 10-9 Osbourne, 29-28 Osbourne.

Leavitt throwing front kicks. Leavitt pushes this against the fence as he’s looking for a takedown and lands a knee. Martinez looking for underhooks. They break. We have a timeout for a groin strike. They get back to action and trade. They clinch and Leavitt starts landing some big knees that drop Martinez and it is stopped. Big finish by Leavitt.

Fernandes landing kicks early on and then lands some combos. They’re trading punches. Fernandes lands a big left hand and then some kicks. They clinch against the fence and Jasudavicius is looking for the takedown. She is able to get it down. Jasudavicius landing from the top. Jasudavicius is trying to trap an arm and lands from the top as the round ends. 10-9 Jasudavicius.

Fernandes lands a body kick. Fernandes with a left to the body then a leg kick. Jasudavicius lands a nice right hand and goes for a takedown. Fernandes defends. Jasudavicius has it pushed against the fence and Jasudavicius is able to get the takedown. Jasudavicius in side control and has the crucifix position and lands some elbows. Peek with some leg kicks. They trade punches. Peek with a combination. Peek with a combo and lands a knee in the clinch and a right hand, but Gonzalez is able to get a takedown. They get to their feet. Peek with a combo. Gonzalez gets a brief takedown and has back control against the fence. They break and are trading and Peek lands a big right hand that rocks Gonzalez. Gonzalez is able to get a takedown. They get up and Peek rocks Gonzalez with some punches and Gonzalez is down. Gonzalez stumbles to the mat and it looked like it was about to be stopped but Gonzalez got up and it continues on. Peek landing more big punches and Gonzalez gets dropped with some hard shots at the end of the round and it is stopped right before the horn sounds. Big, devastating finish from Peek.

Malott with a side kick then a high kick. Malott with a body kick then another high kick. Malott with more body kicks. Lainesse comes forward and swings but Malott ducks under and scores a takedown. Malott controlling from the top and looks to lock in an arm-triangle choke. He jumps to the mount with it locked in and Lainesse taps! What a finish by Malott.

> Women’s Flyweights- Tatiana Suarez (8-0, 5-0 UFC) vs. Montana De La Rosa (12-7-1, 5-3-1 UFC)

They clinch right away and Suarez pushes it against the fence. De La Rosa has the neck as they go to the ground but Suarez pops out and is in the guard of De La Rosa. Suarez looking to improve position and now gets the back of De La Rosa. De La Rosa stands and Suarez has the back and looked for the choke but Suarez falls off and has it pushed against the fence. De La Rosa lands a knee as Suarez is still looking for the takedown. 10-9 Suarez.

Both land kicks to start the second. Suarez looking to clinch and get the takedown. De La Rosa landing some punches trying to defend but Suarez completes the takedown. Suarez is in side control. They get to their feet and remain cliched. Suarez grabs the neck and drops down with a guillotine choke locked in. It’s in tight and De La Rosa taps! Big finish from Suarez in her return!

Both were landing leg kicks and they trade punches before clinching against the fence. Sakai was landing lots of shots against the fence and they go to the mat and Sakai is landing punches from the back. They stand and are clinched against the fence and Sakai lands and Mayes lands a couple of knees. 10-9 Sakai.

Mayes lands a front kick then Sakai lands a few shots before they clinch against the fence. Sakai lands a knee as they break the clinch. Sakai pushes it against the fence. They remain clinched against the fence with both reversing positions but not a whole lot going on. Mayes keeps putting his fingers in the gloves of Sakai and he’s also grabbing the cage. They break to the center. They clinch back up. Sakai with some knees to the legs of Mayes. 10-9 Sakai, 20-18 Sakai.

They trade and then clinch right back up against the fence once again. They break for a moment but clinch right back up. Sakai lands a few knees before they break. Mayes lands a left hand. They trade leg kicks to start. Muniz with a body kick as Allen lands a punch. Muniz lands a solid combo and Allen lands a solid combo that buckles Muniz. Muniz with a spin kick to the body. Allen fires some shots back. Allen with a leg kick and lands a right hand. Muniz lands a nice right hook. Allen with a body kick and Muniz fires back with a body kick. They trade and we have a timeout for an eye poke by Muniz on Allen. They get back to action and trade at the end. 10-9 Muniz.

Muniz with a leg kick and Allen returns fire with a kick. Muniz with a combo ending with a head kick. Muniz with a combo. They trade against the fence and Allen lands a solid combination. They clinch and Muniz has the body lock and gets a takedown but Allen is able to reverse to the top. Allen landing from the top and passes to side control. UFC action returns after a week off with a busy fight card that has fifteen fights on it, headlined by a light heavyweight battle between a former title challenger and a rising contender.

Former light heavyweight title challenger Anthony Smith looks to continue his push back towards a title shot as he puts his two-fight win streak on the line against rising contender Ryan Spann, who is 9-1 over his last ten fights. Smith is coming off a win over Jimmy Crute at UFC 261 in April, while Spann was last seen knocking out Misha Cirkunov in March.

Also on the main card is a light heavyweight slugfest between Ion Cutelaba and Devin Clark, rising lightweight prospect Arman Tsarukyan battles Christos Giagos, and viral sensation Joaquin Buckley kicks off the main card against Antonio Arroyo in middleweight action.

She backs off and lands a kick then lands a punch as she goes back into the guard of Goldy. Goldy gets an upkick in as they get up and clinch back against the fence. Whitmire gets another takedown and lands from the top as she passes to half-guard. Whitmire gets back into the guard for a moment but Goldy creates space to scramble but Whitmire grabs the back and looks for a rear-naked choke but Goldy escapes and Whitmire is back in her guard. Whitmire stands and Goldy with another upkick. Whitmire gets back into Goldy’s guard. Goldy going for an armbar. She has it locked in and Whitmire verbally taps and it is over! Goldy gets the submission out of nowhere.

Heili lands a right hand. They trade and Lopez lands a big flurry and goes for a takedown but Heili defends and they break. Heili landed some nice shots as well. Lopez lands a hard calf kick. They trade in close range and Lopez with a left hook. Heili lands a right hand. Heili lands a combo. They trade. Lopez has a cut opened near his left eye. They trade late. Close round. 10-9 Heili.

They trade some good punches. Harris lands a right hand. Harris with a body kick. They trade punches. They trade and Harris rocks Kasanganay. Harris then lands again and Kasanganay and Harris is landing punches from the back and it is stopped! What a finish by Harris.

He has an arm under the chin. Buys lets go. Jackson gets to his feet and shakes Buys off and Jackson gets on top. They stand and Jackson has a standing guillotine locked in. He lets go and pushes Buys to the mat and lands some punches. They get up and scramble back down as Jackson has body control. Buys lands some left hands. Jackson landing punches from the back as they stand. Both guys land punches and then Buys goes for a guillotine but Jackson defending. Jackson lands a combo and then a left hand and Buys goes down and Jackson hops on top. Jackson lands some punches as he gets up and Buys went for the leg. They clinch up and Buys grabs the neck and jumps up and Jackson carries him to his corner. They go to the mat and Buys looking for the guillotine. He lets go and now is looking for an arm. He lets go and Jackson has control. They get to their feet and Jackson has back control and lands a couple of knees. They separate. Jackson lands a right hand and Buys goes down again and Jackson lets him up. Buys goes for a takedown but Jackson defends. Jackson lands a left hand. Jackson gets a takedown.
