The Miz is the latest wrestler to declare for the 2021 Royal Rumble.
During an appearance on TMZ Sports, The Miz announced that he’ll be an entrant in this year’s men’s Royal Rumble match. He’s the sixth wrestler to be confirmed for the match. Daniel Bryan, United States Champion Bobby Lashley, AJ Styles, Randy Orton, and Otis have also been officially announced as men’s Royal Rumble entrants.
The Miz currently holds the Money in the Bank briefcase. Though he cashed in by being added to WWE Champion Drew McIntyre and Styles’ tables, ladders, and chairs match at December’s TLC pay-per-view, the briefcase was later given back to The Miz due to John Morrison being the one who gave the briefcase to the referee on Miz’s behalf.

Two new participants have declared for the 2021 women’s Royal Rumble match.
In a pre-match promo on tonight’s episode of Raw, Mandy Rose & Dana Brooke announced that they’ll both be entrants in this year’s women’s Royal Rumble match. Rose & Brooke then lost a tag team match against Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler on tonight’s Raw
Baszler tagged herself in and submitted Rose with the Kirifuda Clutch in tonight’s tag team match.
Jax will also be an entrant in this year’s women’s Royal Rumble match. Baszler indicated that she was declaring for the Royal Rumble when Jax did, but WWE hasn’t added Baszler to their list of entrants.

Despite testing positive for COVID-19, WWE Champion Drew McIntyre’s next title defense has been made official.
A video aired on Raw tonight where McIntyre accepted Goldberg’s challenge for a WWE Championship match at the Royal Rumble. The pay-per-view is taking place on Sunday, January 31.
After McIntyre retained his WWE Championship against Keith Lee in the main event of Raw Legends Night last week, Goldberg returned to WWE television, confronted McIntyre, and challenged him to a title match at the Royal Rumble. Goldberg shoved McIntyre down, then McIntyre got up and got in Goldberg’s face.
McIntyre said he respects and admires Goldberg, but Goldberg let him down last week by accusing McIntyre of disrespecting the WWE legends. McIntyre said Goldberg is 20 years older than him and he originally didn’t want to accept Goldberg’s challenge because of that, but his opinion changed when Goldberg put his hands on him.
McIntyre also mentioned that Goldberg doesn’t know anything about being WWE Champion because the title has eluded Goldberg for his entire career.
This will be the first time Goldberg has wrestled since losing the Universal Championship to Braun Strowman at WrestleMania 36.
In another video that aired earlier on tonight’s Raw, McIntyre gave an update on his condition after testing positive for COVID-19. McIntyre said he’s fortunate that he isn’t experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19. McIntyre urged everyone to wear their masks, follow social distancing guidelines, and take COVID-19 seriously.
WWE has announced new entrants for both of this year’s Royal Rumble matches.
Bianca Belair and Bayley are the two newest names to be confirmed for the 2021 women’s Royal Rumble match. On SmackDown tonight, Belair did an interview about declaring for the Royal Rumble but was immediately interrupted by Bayley. Bayley also announced that she’ll be in the Royal Rumble match.
Nia Jax, Women’s Tag Team Champion Charlotte Flair, Belair, and Bayley have been announced for the women’s Royal Rumble match thus far.
WWE has also announced that Otis will be in this year’s men’s Royal Rumble match. WWE uploaded a post-SmackDown video with Otis training with Chad Gable for the Royal Rumble.

An unlikely opponent is currently in line to challenge for Roman Reigns’ Universal Championship at the Royal Rumble.
After winning a number one contender’s gauntlet match in the main event of tonight’s SmackDown, Adam Pearce is set to challenge Reigns for the Universal Championship at the Royal Rumble. Pearce has been an authority figure on WWE television and was put into tonight’s gauntlet match after Reigns was upset with him for making last week’s Kevin Owens vs. Jey Uso main event and this week’s gauntlet.
Reigns mentioned Pearce being in the gauntlet match. Later in the show, Paul Heyman told Pearce that he pulled some strings to get him added to the match. Heyman brought up Pearce’s past as Scrap Daddy Adam Pearce and said Pearce now gets to pursue his original dream because of Reigns.
Pearce was the final person to enter the gauntlet. He reluctantly came down to the ring with Reigns, Uso, and Heyman. Reigns and Uso attacked Shinsuke Nakamura before the bell rang. After laying out Nakamura, Reigns threw Pearce into the ring. Uso gave Pearce a superkick and Reigns called for the bell to ring. Uso put Pearce on Nakamura and the referee counted the pin.
Daniel Bryan, Baron Corbin, Rey Mysterio, and Sami Zayn also took part in the gauntlet. Nakamura defeated Bryan, Corbin, and Mysterio.
Last week’s SmackDown ended with Reigns throwing Owens off a stand at the WWE ThunderDome through a table below. WWE announced a storyline injury update on Owens after last week’s show: “After the attack by Universal Champion Roman Reigns and Jey Uso on Friday Night SmackDown, Kevin Owens was taken to a local medical facility where he was diagnosed with a spinal contusion and bruised kidneys. Raw Legends Night was headlined by Goldberg making his return to WWE television and issuing a challenge to WWE Champion Drew McIntyre.
After McIntyre retained his WWE Championship against Keith Lee in the main event of Raw Legends Night, Goldberg’s music hit and he came down to the ring to confront McIntyre. He challenged McIntyre to a WWE Championship match at the Royal Rumble.
Goldberg said there couldn’t be a better representative than McIntyre as WWE Champion. He said McIntyre has size, speed, and athleticism — but the one thing he doesn’t have is respect. Goldberg said when McIntyre addresses the legends, he sees them as a bunch of washed up old men and women. Goldberg accused McIntyre of thinking he’s better in his prime than the legends were in their prime. Goldberg said McIntyre thinks none of the legends pose a threat to him. but that’s where he’s wrong and that’s where Goldberg steps in.
Goldberg said he wasn’t here to demand anything — he’s here to challenge McIntyre for the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble.
McIntyre responded by saying that Goldberg was just trying to get inside of his head. McIntyre said everyone knows he’s all about respect. McIntyre said Goldberg isn’t the same man he was 20 years ago and fighting Goldberg would be like fighting his dad.
Goldberg and McIntyre then went face-to-face and Goldberg shoved McIntyre down to close the show. Right after the episode went off the air, McIntyre got back up and got in Goldberg’s face.
Goldberg hasn’t wrestled since losing the Universal Championship to Braun Strowman at WrestleMania 36. Goldberg was originally supposed to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 36 before Reigns had to pull out of the show. During an appearance on WWE’s The Bump last month, Goldberg said he still has unfinished business with Reigns and wanted Reigns to be his next opponent at the time.
McIntyre has been WWE Champion since regaining the title from Orton on the November 16 episode of Raw. After winning the WWE Championship from Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 36, McIntyre lost the title to Orton at Hell in a Cell in October before winning it back less than a month later.
This year’s Royal Rumble is taking place on Sunday, January 31.
Randy Orton is the latest person to declare themselves for the Royal Rumble match.
During tonight’s episode of Raw, Orton confronted a number of WWE legends, including Mark Henry. He told Henry that he would be competing in the match. He eventually threatened Henry and told him to leave, which he did.
Orton spent most of tonight’s Raw confronting legends of the past, including Big Show and Ric Flair. This follows the events of last week, when Alexa Bliss told Orton to burn her alive like he did with The Fiend Bray Wyatt, who Orton burned at TLC. Orton admitted tonight on Raw during an interview that he did not burn Alexa, and hated himself for that. He said he would take out his frustrations on the legends.
Orton has previously won the Royal Rumble match twice, first in 2009 and later in 2017.
Others who have announced their entry for the men’s Royal Rumble match include Daniel Bryan, Bobby Lashley, and AJ Styles. Nia Jax and Charlotte Flair have announced themselves for the women’s Royal Rumble match.

Prior to Monday’s Legends Night episode of Raw, Styles posted a video where he declared that he’s entering this year’s men’s Royal Rumble match. He’s the third wrestler to be announced for the match, joining Daniel Bryan and United States Champion Bobby Lashley.
Styles unsuccessfully challenged for Drew McIntyre’s WWE Championship in a tables, ladders, and chairs match at last month’s TLC pay-per-view. The Miz cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase and was added to the match while it was going on, but McIntyre defeated Styles and Miz to retain his title. The Money in the Bank briefcase was later given back to The Miz due to John Morrison having cashed it in on his behalf at TLC.
Styles made his WWE debut as an entrant in the 2016 Royal Rumble.
This year’s Royal Rumble is taking place on Sunday, January 31. Nia Jax and Charlotte Flair have declared for the women’s Royal Rumble match.

Ahead of Monday’s Legends Night edition of Raw, WWE uploaded video of an interview where Charlotte Flair announced that she’s entering the 2021 women’s Royal Rumble. Charlotte won last year’s Rumble and went on to defeat Rhea Ripley for the NXT Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 36.
Charlotte & Raw Women’s Champion Asuka are the current WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. Charlotte made her return at last month’s TLC pay-per-view, teaming with Asuka to win the Women’s Tag Team titles from Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler. Charlotte had been away from WWE television for six months before returning.
Charlotte & Asuka made their first title defense by defeating SmackDown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks & Bianca Belair and Bayley & Carmella in a triple threat elimination match on the Christmas Day episode of SmackDown.
Jax declared for the 2021 women’s Royal Rumble match last week.

It was announced on Raw tonight that Lashley will be an entrant in the 2021 men’s Royal Rumble match. Lashley made the announcement in a pre-match promo before The Hurt Business (Lashley, MVP, Shelton Benjamin & Cedric Alexander) defeated The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods), Jeff Hardy & Riddle in an eight-man tag match. Lashley submitted Hardy with The Hurt Lock. After the match, Riddle hit a knee strike on Lashley.
In his pre-match promo, Lashley said he’s entering the Royal Rumble and will go on to main event WrestleMania. He’s the second wrestler to be confirmed for the men’s Royal Rumble match. Daniel Bryan also declared for the match on this past Friday’s episode of SmackDown.
Lashley has been United States Champion since defeating Apollo Crews for the title this August.

During a backstage interview on tonight’s SmackDown, Bryan announced that he’s officially entering the 2021 men’s Royal Rumble match. Bryan said winning a Royal Rumble is the one thing he’s never done in his career that he’s absolutely dying to do. Bryan said he’s going to do everything he can to climb this mountain.
Bryan made the announcement after defeating Jey Uso on tonight’s SmackDown. There was a pre-match angle where Uso attacked Bryan while he was making his entrance, but Bryan chose to still have the match. For the finish, Bryan avoided a superkick and hit a running knee on Uso to get the win.
Bryan’s interview where he declared for the Royal Rumble was interrupted by Sami Zayn. Zayn accused Bryan of having it out for him and having something to do with WWE making Zayn defend the Intercontinental title against Big E in a lumberjack match on tonight’s show. Zayn said karma will take care of Bryan and Bryan will fail at the Royal Rumble.
Big E defeated Zayn for the Intercontinental title in tonight’s main event.

During tonight’s TLC pay-per-view, it was announced that Royal Rumble 2021 will stream live on the WWE Network on Sunday, January 31. This will be the first WWE PPV of the new year.
Tonight’s TLC event was the first WWE PPV to take place at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida. It was announced last month that — starting with the December 11 episode of SmackDown — Raw, SmackDown, and pay-per-views would be produced at Tropicana Field on closed sets with only essential personnel in attendance.
The ThunderDome had to move out of the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida due to the start of the upcoming NBA season.
This past January’s Royal Rumble took place at Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas. Drew McIntyre was the winner of the men’s Royal Rumble match and Charlotte Flair was the winner of the women’s Royal Rumble match. Both went on to win championships at WrestleMania 36. McIntyre defeated Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship, while Charlotte defeated Rhea Ripley for the NXT Women’s Championship.
