– Dalton Castle, who had been advertised as defending his ROH World Championship against Ultimo Guerrero, came out and cut a promo where he said he wasn’t cleared to wrestle tonight.
The Kingdom then entered. The Boys did about 10 consecutive planchas on them, which the crowd went nuts for.
– Kenny King defeated Jonathan Gresham
King won in a good opener.
– Women of Honor Champion Sumie Sakai & Stella Grey defeated Gabby Ortiz & Riley Shepard
Sakai got the pin on Ortiz.
– Bully Ray defeated Cheeseburger in a no DQ match
The crowd was super into this. Bully pummeled Cheeseburger with a kendo stick and a chain, then hit the referee with the chain. Colt Cabana ran down and turned the tables on Bully, with Cabana and Cheeseburger doing The Dudleys’ “Wassup” spot.
Cheeseburger had the win, but there was no ref. Bully won with a boot to the face.

Woods challenged Shane Taylor after the match, but Taylor said he doesn’t fight for free.

Isom reversed the Angel’s Wings into a backslide with a bridge.
– Afa Jr. won a Future of Honor match
– Matt Taven (w/ TK O’Ryan) defeated Ultimo Guerrero
Vinny Marseglia came out from under the ring with balloons and popped one to distract Guerrero, allowing Taven to pick up the win. The crowd was very into Guerrero, with Taven and O’Ryan getting tons of heat. It was a very physical match.
– Cody (w/ Brandi Rhodes and Burnard the Business Bear) defeated Titan
Cody unmasked Titan and pinned him with a small package. Cody is a superstar. He teased All In 2 being in New York City, then said he was lying and they’d never have it in this rat town. While that got heat, the crowd not being into Titan caused it not to last.
– Jay Lethal defeated Chuck Taylor
Lethal won with the Lethal Injection. This had a lack of heat due to being three and a half hours into the show.
– The Young Bucks & Hangman Page defeated The Briscoes & Punishment Martinez
One of the Bucks escaped a Doomsday Device from The Briscoes and won with a roll-up. This was what you’d expect: the crowd was super into it and they did a ton of spots. At one point, Matt Jackson was put through a table on the outside with an elbow drop. Page also hit a moonsault from the corner to the outside.
The Briscoes started beating down the Bucks after the match until Cody ran out to make the save. The Briscoes bailed and said they were still the champs — and The Young Bucks wouldn’t make it to All In after The Briscoes destroy them at Best in the World.
The Bucks and Cody got on the mic and thanked the crowd for staying hot through the four-hour show. The Bucks teased that there’s a building down the street named Madison Square Garden, and maybe they should hold All In 2 there. The crowd went nuts. The Bucks said it was something to think about.

Jay Briscoe got the win with a Jay Driller. They had a good match but didn’t click together as well as I thought they would.

Young was great in this. There was a false finish where Kenny King got involved and there was a belt shot on Young after a ref bump, with Aries at first getting the pin before the decision was overturned.

– Flip Gordon defeated Jonathan Gresham
Gordon picked up the victory with a stunner off the ropes after a solid match where they did a decent amount of mat wrestling.

– Kelly Klein defeated Deonna Purrazzo
Purrazzo was over with the audience and would have won, but there was a ref bump that led to Klein submitting her. This was an okay match that was sloppy at points.
– SoCal Uncensored (Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian & Scorpio Sky) defeated ROH Six-Man Tag Team Champions The Kingdom (Matt Taven, Vinny Marseglia & TK O’Ryan) by DQ

– Tenille Dashwood cut a babyface promo.
– The Young Bucks defeated ROH Tag Team Champions The Briscoes by DQ
The Briscoes started this by throwing chairs at the Bucks, which would become a theme. They had a wild match, with Mark Briscoe nailing Nick Jackson with a chair when the Bucks were about to hit the Meltzer Driver.
That led to an extended beatdown on the Bucks with a steel chair and plastic chairs from the crowd. Cody Rhodes, Hangman Page, and Flip Gordon all came out to try and make the save but were put down by The Briscoes. Good match and a fantastic angle afterwards.
– Jenny Rose defeated Brandi Rhodes (w/ Burnard the Business Bear)
Rhodes hit a superplex on Rose, who then wrapped her up in a small package for the victory.
– Jay Lethal defeated Punishment Martinez
The Lethal Injection ended a long, solid match.
– Shane Taylor vs. Joey “Diesel” Daddiego
Taylor said he was going to hurt Diesel before the match. Taylor controlled most of it, eventually setting up Diesel on two steel chairs outside of the ring. In a rough spot, Taylor splashed him through the chairs from the ring apron.
It seems that the ref called the match after that, but no official decision was announced. Taylor kept beating up Diesel, then laid out a referee and some backstage personnel that came out to try and stop the carnage.
– Kelly Klein defeated Madison Rayne
– Motor City Machine Guns defeated The Dawgs (Rhett Titus & Will Ferrara)
– Facade (w/ Dani Mo) vs. Eli Isom
The match was going along nicely until Bully Ray entered the ring and assaulted both. He said that, as ROH’s enforcer, he was firing them.
Cheeseburger came out and said he used to respect Bully Ray, but now he’s just a piece of sh*t. Bully chokeslammed him, which led to Joe Koff firing Bully from his enforcer role. Bully said he is now “unretired.”
– Cody, Marty Scurll & Hangman Page (w/ Burnard the Business Bear) defeated ROH Six-Man Tag Team Champions SoCal Uncensored (Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian & Scorpio Sky) in a non-title match
Page pinned Sky with his Rite of Passage kneeling piledriver. SoCal Uncensored attacked Bullet Club following the match, with Scurll accidentally hitting Cody with his umbrella. They eventually made up.
After the cameras stopped, Cody thanked the fans, brought Burnard the Business Bear into the ring, and called out Brandi, The Young Bucks, and Flip Gordon. Once they were all in the ring, Cody led an “FTR” chant and Scurll sang “I Want It That Way” by the Backstreet Boys.
The crowd went totally nuts for the post-match segment, which closed out a long, but fun show.

Brandi Rhodes came out with “Bury the Bear,” whose shirt said that the Bullet Club is fine despite their recent in-fighting. Bury the Bear did a dive from the top rope to everyone on the outside at one point.
Cody got the pin on Marseglia to win it for Bullet Club. The Kingdom then brawled with Daniels, Kazarian, and Scorpio Sky.
Cody reiterated that the Bullet Club is fine, but the Bucks said it’s only fine with Kenny Omega. The Bucks and Scurll left, then came back out to film material for Being the Elite.
Submitted by reader Lee Thomas from Ring of Honor’s television tapings in Nashville last night
– The Dawgs (Rhett Titus & Will Ferrara) defeated Ryan Nova & Eli Isom in a Future of Honor match
This was a dark match. TK O’Ryan & Vinny Marseglia were originally supposed to face Nova & Isom, but they said that Future of Honor matches are beneath them and left.
– ROH World Tag Team Champions Motor City Machine Guns went to a no contest with Beretta & Chuck Taylor
After about 10 minutes, The Briscoes interfered and focused their attack on Motor City Machine Guns. They tied Alex Shelley to the ropes and Jay hit Chris Sabin with a Jay Driller on a chair.
The Briscoes said they’re coming for the Tag Team titles. Sabin had to be helped to the back.
– Marty Scurll defeated Shane Taylor
Taylor had the referee distracted when he tried to use Scurll’s umbrella, then Scurll used powder to the eyes and rolled him up. This was a good match and Scurll was super over.
Scurll called out Punishment Martinez afterwards and told him he wants a title shot after Martinez beats Dalton Castle for the ROH World Championship. Martinez ended up chokeslamming Scurll.
– Cheeseburger defeated Caprice Coleman, Josh Woods, and Jonathan Gresham in a four corners survival match
This was a web-exclusive match for a future World Television title shot. Cheeseburger hit a Shotei on Coleman to win.
– Beer City Bruiser & Brian Milonas (w/ Silas Young) defeated Coast 2 Coast by DQ
Kenny King interfered a few minutes into the match when Young was getting heat on C2C when they were on the outside. The match was restarted and it was made into a six-man tag.
– Kenny King & Coast 2 Coast defeated Silas Young, Beer City Bruiser & Brian Milonas
King pinned Young with The Coronation.
– Mandy Leon defeated Madison Rayne in a Women of Honor Championship tournament match
Leon won with the Astral Projection.
– Cody defeated Matt Taven (w/ Vinny Marseglia and TK O’Ryan)
Cody pinned Taven with a roll-up after a low blow. There was lots of stalling by both and The Kingdom interfered a lot, which got them sent to the back before the pinfall.
The Kingdom beat down Cody and took his ring. Cody was very over.
– Kelly Klein defeated Jesse Brooks in a Women of Honor Championship tournament match
Klein hit a running knee to advance. She ended up losing quite a bit of her hair at one point, which I believe was extensions. They had a good match.
– ROH World Champion Dalton Castle (w/ The Boys) defeated Punishment Martinez to retain his title
Castle retained with a small package. The Boys took the brunt of Martinez’s anger after the match.
Castle cut a promo saying he’s the best and will be champion forever. He named Jay Lethal as his next challenger for the 16th Anniversary pay-per-view on March 9th.
– Brandi Rhodes defeated Karen Q in a Women of Honor Championship tournament match
Rhodes got the pin with a small package after faking a foot injury. She worked from underneath for most of the match after getting some offense to start.
– Jay Lethal defeated Flip Gordon
The Lethal Injection ended this one. It was a good match that was well worked.
– ROH Six-Man Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks & Hangman Page defeated So-Cal Uncensored (Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian & Scorpio Sky) to retain their titles
So-Cal Uncensored actually initially won after using a title belt to knock out one of the Bucks, but Bully Ray came out and said he talked to Joe Koff and is tired that there’s no honor in ROH. He said he was now the enforcer and restarted the match.
From there, the champions retained with superkicks and the Meltzer Driver.
Cody and Scurll came out to close the show and film some stuff for “Being the Elite.” Scurll led the fans in singing “Man, I Feel Like a Woman” by Shania Twain in some fun stuff to send everyone home happy.
The night after Final Battle, Ring of Honor was at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia for their last television tapings of the year.
Pre-show —
– Brutal Bob Evans & Tim Hughes defeated Ryan Nova & a partner in a Future of Honor match
Evans and Hughes won with an assisted senton off the top. Right before the finish, Evans did a flip dive to the floor and somehow got a deep gash on the back of his head. They went right to the finish and Evans was immediately given a towel to put on the wound, which had a lot of blood coming out of it.
– Jessie Brooks defeated Gabby Ortiz in a Women of Honor match to qualify for the upcoming title tournament
Brooks got the pin with a tiger suplex.
TV tapings —
– After winning the ROH World Championship at Final Battle, Dalton Castle came out with The Boys to open the tapings. He received “You deserve it” chants and cut a victory promo, saying coming to ROH was never a mistake and mentioning that people said he would never be World Champion.
Jay Lethal then entered to challenge him. There was some funny banter between the two, including Castle telling Lethal to sit down and discuss it with him while using The Boys as seats. Lethal told Castle that people are going to be gunning for him and said he’s only requesting to be at the top of Castle’s list of contenders. Castle agreed, then Lethal thanked him before leaving.
Castle looked to close out the segment by holding up the World title, but Punishment Martinez showed up out of nowhere and hit him with the South of Heaven chokeslam.
– ROH World Television Champion Silas Young (w/ Beer City Bruiser) defeated Simon Grimm to retain his title
They had a solid match, with Young hitting Misery for the win. Kenny King appeared after and cut an angry promo from the entrance, calling out Young for using a beer bottle to eliminate him from the fatal four-way at Final Battle.
After Young replied, King said he knows he has a rematch due to him, but he’s had at least eight beers already (and had one with him) and he came out to fight. He spat beer in Young’s face before the ring crew separated them.
– The Briscoes defeated Ryan Nova & a partner
Mark Briscoe connected with the Froggy Bow to win what was a squash match. Jay Briscoe cut a promo after about how they ended Bully Ray’s career at Final Battle. He said they’re now coming after the Motor City Machine Guns to win back the ROH World Tag Team titles.
– Marty Scurll defeated Flip Gordon
This was a TV main event and one of my favorite matches of the night. Gordon used his agility to psych out Scurll and hit his regular offense, with him escaping the chicken wing and getting a near fall after hitting a 450 splash. Scurll got a two count with the Last Shot before hitting it again for the win.
– Brandi Rhodes defeated Stella Grey in a Women of Honor match to qualify for the upcoming title tournament
Though they’re less experienced, both put in a fine effort. Rhodes was very over and won with the Final Cut. Karen Q was on commentary and got up on the apron after, mockingly congratulating Rhodes on her win.
– Jay Lethal defeated Will Ospreay
They had another one of the best matches of the night, though it wasn’t announced as a TV main event. Scurll came out during the match to sit in on commentary. For the finish, Lethal countered the OsCutter with an Ace Crusher and hit the Lethal Injection.
– Kenny King defeated Brian Milonas
King hit the blockbuster neckbreaker to win. They had a fairly competitive match despite Milonas receiving an off-camera entrance. King called out Young after, and Young briefly fought with King before bailing to the floor.
Milonas came up and attacked King from behind, with Young, Beer City Bruiser, and Milonas putting the boots to King to close the segment.
– Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian, and Scorpio Sky entered. Daniels and Kazarian introduced Sky as the hottest new talent in ROH. The trio are calling themselves So-Cal Uncensored. Before they could continue, they were interrupted by Joe Koff. Koff said he knows fans don’t want to see him. They want to see the best wrestlers — not the most disruptive wrestlers, referring to Daniels, Kazarian, and Sky.
Koff said he’s thought about firing them. Kazarian threatened to beat Koff up, but Daniels told him to calm down and reminded Koff that when he was World Champion, he would stop by the office where they discussed grand plans for ROH in the future. Daniels then said that if they were to be fired, he might discuss those plans with the likes of his good friend Don Callis, or one of his best friends “named AJ,” who would have the ears of some top executives somewhere else.
Koff responded by saying that he’s a businessman, and instead of firing them, he spoke with his attorney and their ROH contracts expire in a year. Koff closed by saying that by the time Final Battle 2018 comes around, they’re done.
– ROH World Champion Dalton Castle & The Boys defeated The Kingdom (Matt Taven, Vinny Marseglia & TK O’Ryan)
Castle tapped Marseglia out with his Julie Newmar submission. This was the second TV main event. Leading up to the finish, Castle and Taven kept reversing each other on attempted tombstones before Castle finally hit it. He then hit O’Ryan with the Bang-a-Rang. The Boys dove onto Taven and O’Ryan on the floor as Castle scored the submission win.
Following the match, The Kingdom jumped Castle and The Boys from behind as they were celebrating. Taven laid out Castle and held up the World title, indicating that he’s another potential challenger for it.
– Mandy Leon & Deonna Purrazzo defeated Jenny Rose & Sumie Sakai in a Women of Honor match
Kelly Klein was on commentary for this. It was solid and seemed to be well-received by the crowd, with Leon pinning Rose with a victory roll.
Klein got up to leave, then Purrazzo got on the mic and acknowledged that Klein just recently returned from Stardom in Japan but no one really missed her. Purrazzo brought up her 30-day undefeated streak and said this is now her Women of Honor. The other wrestlers in the ring laughed when Purrazzo mentioned the undefeated streak.
Klein had some brief words for Purrazzo, who then talked about the title tournament, threatened to break Klein’s arm, and called her a bitch. The four women in the match stayed in the ring making belt motions, and Mayu Iwatani from Stardom came out to do the same.
– ROH World Tag Team Champions Motor City Machine Guns defeated The Dawgs to retain their titles
Rhett Titus made a joke at Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz’s expense during The Dawgs’ entrance. The match was just okay and fairly competitive, with MCMG retaining with a two-man slam on Will Ferrara.
After the match, The Briscoes came out to the entranceway and reiterated that they want the Tag Team titles.
– Jonathan Gresham defeated Josh Woods
Gresham worked over Woods with a number of submissions before Woods caught him with a big knee as he came off the top. Woods also got some suplexes and hit another knee before Gresham caught him in a prawn hold pin for the victory.
– Cody Rhodes made his way down for a promo. He admitted that Castle was the better man at Final Battle, but while humbled, he said that he’s still guaranteed a rematch, and he still has possession of the official Ring of Honor. He was boasting about the amount of set stones in it when The Kingdom’s music interrupted him.
O’Ryan and Marseglia stayed by the entrance while Taven came down to the ring, dressing down Cody. He said the title loss exposed him, said he relied on his father’s name that he can’t even use, and he couldn’t do things on his own and thus joined the Bullet Club. He said Cody is now nothing but a blond-haired bitch. Taven dropped his mic for emphasis, but Cody denied him the final word by saying his blond hair received a bigger reaction than Taven ever has.
Cody then requested that Taven kiss the ring. Taven indeed kissed it, but he kicked Cody in the groin. Fans chanted “You still kissed it” at Taven as he left, and Cody remarked that Brandi won’t be happy about that kick to the groin.
– Punishment Martinez won a squash match
The crowd dubbed Martinez’s opponent “Fat Jesus.” Martinez beat him with the South of Heaven chokeslam and called out Castle.
Castle came out and offered Martinez the first title shot, but he ended up hitting Martinez with a T-bone suplex to send him to the floor. Martinez leapt back onto the apron for a brief staredown before just smirking and leaving.
– Coast 2 Coast defeated War Machine
This was great and had a surprising conclusion and aftermath. It was announced online that Coast 2 Coast would disband if they lost, but that wasn’t mentioned to the live crowd. War Machine were mostly dominant, though Coast 2 Coast kept surviving their offense.
The biggest shocker was Shaheem Ali kicking out of Fallout. It was during the second attempt where Leon St. Giovanni held onto Hanson’s foot while he was up top, leading to Ali escaping Ray Rowe’s grasp and winning with a roll-up.
War Machine looked dumbfounded, but they still congratulated Coast 2 Coast. War Machine stuck around in the ring and seemed to basically be saying farewell to ROH, bowing to each section of the audience to a great reception.
– The Young Bucks defeated Dragon Lee & Titan and Best Friends in a triple threat tag team match
They had a big, wild TV main event. Beretta and Chuck Taylor provided some more lighthearted moments amid the chaos, but everyone looked great. Titan took the pin after being hit with the Meltzer Driver.
So-Cal Uncensored ran out to attack the Bucks, but Hangman Page chased them off with a chair.
– Bully Ray came out to the ring as the tapings continued. He was holding his wrestling boots and said Final Battle was indeed his final battle. He said he was born in New York but was born as a professional wrestler in Philadelphia, and mentioned how Bubba Ray Dudley was born here in October of 1995. He then laid down his boots in the ring and thanked the crowd, saying it has been his honor.
The babyface locker room came out to surround the ring, with Jay Lethal stepping in to say some words. Lethal said he’s known Bully for a long time. He said a lot of people heard rumors about him and had their guard up when he came to ROH, but then he saw how Bully would help out and listen to everyone in the locker room, helping them get better. Lethal feels that makes Bully a legend and thanked him for everything.
Taven did commentary for the match, with Marseglia and O’Ryan standing by him. This had good action throughout, though Page may have injured his ankle doing a top rope moonsault to the floor. That led into the finish where Sky pinned him with a high knee after a quick barrage of offense.
– The night closed with some post-show antics from the Bullet Club. Cody grabbed the mic and challenged Kazarian to a posedown. He agreed despite the crowd being biased in favor of the Bullet Club. The fans chanted for Ian Riccaboni to get involved, which he did as an honorary participant. Kazarian posed to boos, Cody got cheers, and Riccaboni got even more cheers and was declared the winner.
Cody and Kazarian then did a push-up contest, which Cody won by swiping at Kazarian’s arm to cause him to fall.
The Bullet Club and So-Cal Uncensored brawled briefly before The Young Bucks joined in and hit superkicks. Kazarian and Daniels were locked in submission holds as Scurll sang a Backstreet Boys song, and then Brandi Rhodes was invited out to hit Kazarian with a stunner to close the show.
Ring of Honor was in Lakeland, Florida last night for their final television tapings before next month’s Final Battle pay-per-view. In addition to the final build to that PPV, Kenny Omega teamed with The Young Bucks against Rocky Romero, Trent Barreta & Chuck Taylor in the main event.
– Marty Scurll defeated Beer City Bruiser
Scurll used an umbrella shot while the referee was down to get the win.
– Flip Gordon defeated Hangman Page
The Young Bucks attacked Gordon after the match.
– Mandy Leon defeated Stella Grey in a Women of Honor match
– Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian did a promo where they mentioned that Ray Rowe was “suspended” for 30 days after accidentally injuring a fan during their brawl at the last tapings. They demanded that ROH fire both members of War Machine, then Hanson came out and attacked.
Daniels and Kazarian beat him down and tried to cut off his beard, but the ring crew made the save before they could get more than a small piece of it.
– ROH World Television Champion Kenny King defeated Caprice Coleman to retain his title
Punishment Martinez, Shane Taylor, and Silas Young (who will be challenging for the TV title at Final Battle) attacked King after the match
– The Briscoes came out and were goading Bully Ray and Tommy Dreamer. Security and Joe Koff then tried to hold Bully Ray and Dreamer back, with Koff making the Briscoes vs. Bully Ray & Dreamer in a hardcore match official for Final Battle. The teams then brawled as security tried to break it up. The crowd went crazy for that.
– Matt Taven defeated Jay Lethal
Scurll offered Lethal his umbrella to hit Taven with, but Lethal declined and got rolled up. After that, Taven set up a match against Will Ospreay for Final Battle.
– Dalton Castle, Silas Young, Hanson, Jonathan Gresham & Marty Scurll defeated ROH World Champion Cody Rhodes, Scorpio Sky, Josh Woods, Chris Sabin & Punishment Martinez
This was a Christmas-themed ten-man tag match with random partners. Cody teased that he was going to give away a gift before the match but stomped on it. At one point, he and Scurll hugged it out after everyone tried to instigate them into fighting each other.
– Sumie Sakai defeated Rain in a Women of Honor match
– The Addiction defeated Coast 2 Coast
Coast 2 Coast said they’d stop teaming together if they lost their next match.
– Shane Taylor won a squash match
– The Dawgs (Rhett Titus & Will Ferrara) defeated Simon Grimm & Flip Gordon
– Cody and Brandi Rhodes came out for a contract signing for Cody vs. Dalton Castle at Final Battle. Cody was wearing a fur coat and they had assistants with them. Castle told Cody that he looks ridiculous and ended up putting him through the table to stand tall heading into Final Battle.
– The Elite (Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks) defeated Rocky Romero, Trent Barreta & Chuck Taylor to retain the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship
Omega and the Bucks defended the titles (that are held by the Bucks & Hangman Page) under the “Bullet Club rule.” They retained in a wild match, then cut a promo to close the show.

Ring of Honor was at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania last night and taped a few episodes of television as they set things up for Final Battle.
– The Kingdom (Vinny Marseglia & TK O’Ryan) defeated Coast 2 Coast (Leon St. Giovanni & Shaheem Ali) and The Dawgs (Rhett Titus & Will Ferrara)
This was a good opener with a lot of action to start off. The Dawgs’ gimmick seems to be Titus saying he’s the Big Dog, with Ferrara thinking he’s the Big Dog. But with Ferrara being so small, most of their offense is double teams with Titus throwing Ferrara around. The Kingdom were much more over with the fans than the last time they were in Philly.
The big highlight of the match was St. Giovanni doing a big double springboard Phoenix Splash to the outside onto everyone. The Kingdom won when Marseglia had St. Giovanni up for an Attitude Adjustment, then O’Ryan picked up Marseglia and hit an AA on him with St. Giovanni still on his shoulders. That was a cool move.
– Cody Rhodes came out for a promo and said he promised an ROH World Championship defense that everyone wanted to see. Of course, everyone thought he meant Dalton Castle but he brought out a local jobber instead.
– ROH World Champion Cody defeated Brian Nova to retain his title
Cody made Nova kiss the ring, but Nova pulled the ring off of his finger with his mouth and shocked Cody with a couple of big roll-ups. Cody hit a Cross Rhodes but pulled Nova up at two. He then applied a reverse figure four to get the submission win. This only went about a minute.
Castle came out after the match and said he’s disappointed in Cody because all of his title defenses have been bad. Castle wanted to give Cody the opportunity to give these fans a title match with him. Cody said he didn’t think Castle could beat him, saying he’ll put him in touch with Jane Geddes and “Paul” and get him a developmental contract like all of Castle’s buddies that left ROH, then maybe Castle will get better and be good enough to come back.
Cody told Castle to think about it and started to walk away, but Castle chased him down, threw him back into the ring, and hit the Bang-a-Rang before saying he’s staying in ROH and taking Cody’s title. This was a good segment.
– ROH World Tag Team Champions Motor City Machine Guns defeated War Machine to retain their titles
Really good match. War Machine hit Fallout in the first 15 seconds and Alex Shelley broke it up, setting the tone for this one. War Machine dominated for a long time before MCMG finally cut off Ray Rowe and got the heat on him. Hanson then got the hot tag and ran wild.
War Machine went for Fallout again before The Addiction ran down with cans of Silly String and Daniels sprayed it all over Hanson and Rowe. Somehow, this didn’t cause a disqualification. Rowe threw Daniels out of the ring, but Chris Sabin rolled him up to retain the titles. After the match, War Machine cut a promo saying they’re coming after The Addiction.
– Jenny Rose defeated Nikki Addams, Jessie Brooks, and Sumie Sakai in a four corner survival Women of Honor match
Rose won with a spear and a roll-up on Addams.
– Punishment Martinez defeated Josh Woods
A series of matches were held at the tapings with the winners going on to a four corner survival match for the ROH Television Championship at Final Battle. Martinez was the first to advance after hitting a sit-out chokeslam for the win. Both men are definitely improving and had a good back-and-forth match.
– Jay Lethal entered for a promo, saying he’s had a rough few months but is ready to go after the ROH World title again. He was then interrupted by Marty Scurll. Scurll said that Lethal was on the list of guys he wanted to face when he came to ROH, but it was because Lethal was a bit of a villain himself. Now Lethal has changed into being compassionate and it’s gotten him nowhere.
Lethal said he used to act like a villain because he could, but Scurll acts like one because he has to — he can’t get it done otherwise. Scurll challenged Lethal to face him at Final Battle and Lethal promised to bring out that old side of him and show Scurll some new tricks.
– ROH World Television Champion Kenny King defeated Mark Briscoe by forfeit
Mark is coming off of dislocating his elbow on the Global Wars tour last week. He came out with a gigantic cast on his arm here. Everyone was wondering how he was going to wrestle when Jay Briscoe, who was at ringside with him, threw in the towel seconds into the match before they even locked up. The referee rang the bell and declared King the winner by forfeit.
Mark was irate at Jay, with Jay just going to the back. Jay had previously said that he wants his brother to stop worrying about other belts — he wants to be a tag team again.
King was in the ring perplexed by the whole situation when he was jumped by Martinez. A scrum broke out with Jonathan Gresham, Silas Young, Shane Taylor, and Cheeseburger all getting involved before King wiped them out with a big flip dive over the top to stand tall.
– Best Friends (Trent Barreta & Chuck Taylor) defeated The Addiction (Christopher Daniels & Frankie Kazarian)
This was another very fun match. Motor City Machine Guns were at ringside to do commentary, with The Kingdom coming out onto the ramp with chairs to watch the match. There was some comedy early, but it then settled down into a basic tag bout.
Taylor got the hot tag and was going for the win when Daniels went to get a chair. Before he could use it, War Machine made their way down and stopped him. Daniels went back into the ring and Taylor hit the Awful Waffle for the win.
Best Friends and MCMG had a staredown after the match, as did The Addiction and War Machine.
– Dalton Castle defeated Hangman Page
Cody was on commentary for this. They had a very good, hard-hitting match. Page has become one of the most over guys in the company over the last several months. Castle took him out with a tope before the match even started, with Castle showing much more fire here than any of his previous matches.
Castle later made a big comeback with a lot of different suplexes. He hit the Bang-a-Rang, but Cody pulled the referee out of the ring. They went to double team Castle, but Page hit Cody on accident. Castle hit another Bang-a-Rang and locked on a submission that looked like an Anaconda Vice for the win.
Cody and Page then beat down Castle. Cody punched him in the head with his championship ring.
– Bully Ray came out dressed in street clothes. He was showered with chants of “ECW” and “Bubba Dudley.” Bully said that he took time to appreciate all of the fans outside the building today and thanked everyone there because this was the building that changed wrestling. He said that it’s time for things to end, and he’s happy and wants the fans to be happy too.
Bully noted that he loved ECW, but he also loves ROH. While he’s under contract for a little longer, he’s going to do everything he can to help the guys in the back and help the promotion grow. Joe Koff then got in the ring and thanked Bully for his time in ROH, saying he will always have a home there.
Suddenly, Jay Briscoe ran out and got in Bully’s face, asking him if this is how he’s really going to go out. He smacked Bully’s hat off his head and called him a bitch. Bully took off his jacket and wanted to fight, but Koff and Bobby Cruise separated them. While they were separated, Jay hit Bully with a cheap shot in the back of the head and he went down motionless.
Velvet Sky ran out to tend to Bully, while Tommy Dreamer ran down to make the save and got in Jay’s face. Before they could fight, Mark Briscoe came down and separated them — then Mark turned around and kicked Dreamer low. The Briscoes got a steel chair and hit Dreamer in the back, then picked Bully up and hit him with a 3D. Bully sold that by not moving at all and remained motionless for about five minutes.
Officials ran down as the crowd booed The Briscoes. They were trash talking and got in Velvet Sky’s face as she was upset. Finally, The Briscoes left up the ramp and left the doctors, trainers, and ring crew to tend to Bully. They finally got Bully up, with Bully acting like he was really hurt. They slowly took him to the back as the crowd remained in their seats watching the whole way.
– Karen Q defeated Deonna Purrazzo in a Women of Honor match
Good back-and-forth match. Purrazzo is one of the stars of Women of Honor and for good reason. Towards the end, there was a ref bump and Karen Q went outside of the ring, grabbed a chair, and whacked Purrazzo with it to steal the victory.
– Matt Taven defeated Jay White
Another good match. The best spot was when White had Taven on the outside and gave him a brainbuster on the apron, then O’Ryan and Marseglia rolled Taven’s body back into the ring as he said, “Why did you do that? I’m dying!”
The numbers game eventually caught up to White. O’Ryan knocked his foot off the rope and crotched him on the top turnbuckle, letting Taven hit a rope-assisted headlock driver for the win. The Kingdom beat down White until Search and Destroy made the save.
– Shane Taylor defeated Cheeseburger
This appeared to be another TV title contender’s match. It only went about two minutes. Cheeseburger was very over. Taylor didn’t want to fight him because of the massive size difference, but Taylor grabbed him, gave him a chokeslam, and then hit a big punch for the win after Cheeseburger briefly ran wild.
The Dawgs came out after and offered Taylor a cup full of pennies to beat up Cheeseburger, but Taylor dumped the pennies on Ferrara’s head and they left.
– Silas Young defeated Jonathan Gresham
Young and Gresham faced off in the final TV title contender’s match. It was another fun one, with them doing a lot of comedy for most of it. Gresham kept getting distracted by Beer City Bruiser at ringside. He went for an octopus hold, but Bruiser distracted the referee with a beer keg, then ran in the ring and broke the hold up. Young followed that by hitting Misery for the win.
– War Machine came out for a match until they were jumped by The Addiction in the aisle. The teams brawled at ringside. Rowe had Daniels set up in the corner of the guardrails and Hanson went to lawn dart Kazarian, but Daniels moved at the last second and Kazarian flew into the crowd and hit a female fan (who I’m assuming was a plant).
The fan went flying and they quickly tended to her and took her to the back. All four seemed shocked at what happened and left.
– The Young Bucks, Hangman Page & Marty Scurll defeated Flip Gordon, Scorpio Sky, Leon St. Giovanni & Shaheem Ali
This was built up as Gordon being tired of the Bullet Club, so he put together a team of up-and-coming ROH wrestlers to battle them. Cody came to the ring and did a very long introduction as he announced each member of their team. We got a “F**k Roman Reigns” chant from the crowd at this point.
There were a lot of crazy spots in the match. You can tell when Bullet Club sometimes plays the hits — and they did a lot of their classic spots here — but they worked very hard. This was over four hours into the show and the crowd was still going nuts. The match felt like a real effort to get Gordon over as a big star.
After a ton of high spots and superkicks at the end, Page had Sky and Gordon on his front and back in position for a Last Rites and a tombstone. Matt and Nick Jackson then came off the corner posts with a Meltzer Driver and an Indytaker for the finish. This was a long main event after a long night of action, but the crowd was totally into it from start to finish.

Show one —
– Silas Young and Beer City Bruiser came out for a promo. Bruiser introduced Young as the “Last Real Man” and the man who destroyed the golden boy of ROH.
Young took the mic and wanted a shot of his back, the “back of a man,” to be shown with the welts he had from the pay-per-view. He said that he did what he said he was going to do, and that now he should get opportunities and ROH officials should put him back in the main event picture.
He and Bruiser wanted a third man to go after the six-man tag titles, but they couldn’t find anyone man enough until they saw Death Before Dishonor. He announced that they’d be teaming with Minoru Suzuki and called out The Young Bucks and Hangman Page.
Matt Jackson said that they had to stop their autograph line to answer Young — so he was costing them money. Page then grabbed the mic and accepted the challenge. They acted like they would do the match now, but he said they only wrestle in the main event.
– ROH World Television Champion Kenny King defeated Josh Woods to retain his title
King retained by stacking Woods for a pin after he locked him in a triangle choke. There were some chants for King early and a decent pop for his comeback.
After the match, King said that it was important to win the TV title in front of family. He’s a fighting champion and will defend the title in every city. That led to Shane Taylor, Chuck Taylor, Punishment Martinez, and Mark Briscoe coming out separately. King would try to address them as they came out, but another guy would enter before he could.
King said he would wrestle any of them, noting that “this is my golden throne, and if you want some of this you’ll have to bend the knee.”
– Jay Briscoe came down for a promo. The crowd was chanting “Why Jay, why?” after he turned his back on Bully Ray at the PPV. Jay said everyone is asking why he did what he did, then Tommy Dreamer came out before he could explain his actions. Dreamer got a big “ECW” chant and the crowd chanted his name.
Dreamer said he wanted to talk to Jay and his wrestling family. He noted he wanted to talk about one of the toughest people he’s ever met, Bully Ray. He shared stories of Bully Ray’s toughness throughout his career, then let Jay know he messed up and he doesn’t know what’s going to happen.
– KUSHIDA and Scorpio Sky went to a no contest
KUSHIDA was over huge. After some early back and forth, Christopher Daniels came out with an air horn and Frankie Kazarian low blowed KUSHIDA from behind. The Addiction beat down both until Jay Lethal made the save.
Lethal told The Addiction that if they have a problem with ROH, they have a problem with him. He won’t stand by while the company is disrespected. He called ROH the best company in the world and said he’s not like guys who think the grass is greener elsewhere. He then challenged The Addiction to a tag match against him and KUSHIDA.
– The Young Bucks (with their dad), Cody Rhodes, Brandi Rhodes, and Hangman Page entered, with Shane Taylor walking Brandi to the ring and Cody paying him in cash outside. Taylor stuck around outside the ring during their promo.
Matt Jackson started the promo off, asking the crowd if they’re here to see ROH or a taping of Being the Elite. Cody announced that he’s signing the “most lucrative contract in ROH history” before then signing it. Cody said he’ll defend the title tonight while he’s in a suit. He made people think Dalton Castle would be his opponent, but they soon realized it would be Cheeseburger.
– ROH World Champion Cody defeated Cheeseburger to retain his title
Cheeseburger got a good pop as Cody introduced him as his opponent. The story of the match was Cody being cocky and almost losing, but he won by submission with the American Nightmare leg lock (an inverted figure four). He tried to get Cheeseburger to kiss his ring after, but Cheeseburger went for a handshake instead and Cody slapped him.
Taylor gave Cody his ring after the match, then Taylor carried Cheeseburger to the back.
– Bully Ray entered to no music or graphics and was wearing sunglasses. He did the whole promo in a low tone of voice and apologized for it, noting he’s doing what the doctor told him to do. He built the promo like a possible retirement and said he’s thinking about stepping away and has to think about his family. He thanked the fans and said he’ll see us down the road.
Mark Briscoe then came out at the end and said something off mic before giving Bully Ray a hug.
– The Kingdom defeated Motor City Machine Guns & Jonathan Gresham
The crowd loved some of the big spots towards the end, but the finish came when Chris Sabin was rolled up by Matt Taven after being distracted and being hit with The Kingdom’s staff.
Show two —
– Marty Scurll defeated Jay White
Both guys got chants early, but there were more for Scurll. The crowd liked the match a lot. Scurll won with a roll-up.
– Will Ferrara & Rhett Titus defeated The Tempura Boyz
Ferrara and Titus entered with outfits similar to the main characters from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. They did a solid impression of the characters while walking around.
The match was good and fast-paced. Ferrara and Titus won when Titus lifted Sho Tanaka into vertical suplex position and Ferrara came off the top as Titus brought Sho down in a face crusher.
– Mark Briscoe defeated Chuck Taylor, Punishment Martinez, and Shane Taylor in a four corner survival match for a future TV title shot
The match started with there being two legal men who had to tag in and out, but that disappeared after awhile. Chuck wanted to start but tagged out immediately to avoid Martinez. Mark tagged in, Martinez flattened him, and Chuck blind tagged Martinez. They kept teasing a Martinez-Shane Taylor standoff, but they would get interrupted.
It devolved quickly with no more legal men. For the finish, Mark leapt off of Martinez’s back in the corner to hit the Froggy Bow on Chuck. This was a great match and the crowd loved it.
Jay Briscoe came out to confront Mark after. They argued off mic.
Women of Honor —
– Kelly Klein defeated Stella Grey
Klein won with a guillotine.
Show three —
– Jonathan Gresham defeated TK O’Ryan by DQ
Cody came out to do commentary for this. The Kingdom had conspiracy signs during their entrance, and Motor City Machine Guns came out to stop them from attacking Gresham during the match. MCMG and The Kingdom were in the ring until MCMG were thrown out by the ref. He threw The Kingdom out after when they started celebrating, but they argued their ejection and never left.
Gresham used a series of pin attempts and appeared to have the match won, but Vinny Marseglia pulled the ref out before three. The Kingdom eventually beat down Gresham for the DQ, causing MCMG to come back out and chase them off.
– Cody did a promo at the commentary table, claiming that he is a company man now and wants to give a chance to a young guy who had his opportunity ruined by The Addiction. He then called out Scorpio Sky.
– ROH World Champion Cody defeated Scorpio Sky to retain his title
Cody asked Sky to kiss the ring. He did it, but then went for a schoolboy when Cody turned to celebrate. Sky ran wild early, but Cody was able to get the advantage. He used the Yes Lock at one point, leading the crowd in “Yes” chants. Cody reacted to a “Stardust” chant from a fan and eventually gave them the middle finger.
Sky hit a German suplex into corner, but Cody pulled the referee in between them and then raked Sky’s eyes after pushing the ref away. He then locked in the American Nightmare to retain.
– Jay Lethal & KUSHIDA defeated The Addiction
Daniels and Kazarian did a promo to start, with Kazarian explaining why they hate the fans. Daniels started talking until KUSHIDA’s music cut him off. Daniels was pissed about that.
This was a great match. The Addiction tried to take a countout because they didn’t want fans to see the match, but KUSHIDA and Lethal stopped them with dives.
Near the end, Kazarian hit his finisher on KUSHIDA, with Lethal then hitting the Lethal Injection on Kazarian. Daniels hit the Fallen Angel on Lethal, but KUSHIDA was able to use a reversal into the hoverboard lock to tap out Daniels. Great finishing sequence.
Show four —
– ROH Six-Man Tag Team Champions The Hung Bucks (The Young Bucks & Hangman Page) defeated Silas Young, Beer City Bruiser & Minoru Suzuki to retain their titles
They had a great match with a million spots. It ended when Page hit the Rite of Passage on Bruiser to retain. That came after they had Young in a Meltzer Driver position, with Page hitting the shooting star from the apron to finish it.
Suzuki, Young, and Bruiser yelled at each other after. Suzuki decked Bruiser before the ring crew came out, then he beat the ring crew up and got on the mic to tell the crowd that he would be back. That got a huge pop.
Ring of Honor taped its next round of television episodes in Atlanta last night. Here are the results:
Dark match —
– Cauliflower Chase Brown defeated Gladiator Jeremiah
ROH TV taping results —
– Bully Ray came out for a promo, saying that he will team with the Briscoes to face the Kingdom at Death Before Dishonor, then will look to regain the Six Man titles.
– Will Ferrara defeated Cheeseburger
– Silas Young defeated Cauliflower Chase Brown
Silas continued the assault after the match. Lethal ran in for the save and were pulled apart. Silas announced that he will face Lethal in a last “real” man standing match at Death Before Dishonor.
– Kelly Klein defeated Brandi Rhodes in a Women of Honor match
– BJ Whitmer joined Ian Riccaboni for the taping of the second episode.
– Kenny King defeated Hangman Page
– Marty Scurll defeated Rocky Romero
– Cody Rhodes came out and said that he has a replacement for the ROH World title. Instead, he has a championship ring — the Ring of Honor. He insisted that all of his opponents will have to kiss the ring rather than shake hands with him before his matches.
– Josh Woods defeated QT Marshall
– Frankie Kazarian won the Honor Rumble
The winner of this would get a title match. Participants included Jay White, Sho Tanaka, Jonathan Gresham, Punishment Martinez, Rhett Titus, Kazarian, Will Ferrara, Yohei Komatsu, Alex Shelley, Silas Young, Shane Taylor, Flip Gordon, Jay Lethal, Chris Sabin, Bully Ray, Ray Rowe and Mark Briscoe. Glacier, who came in last, was the biggest surprise entrant in it. Jay Lethal had the match won, but Christopher Daniels distracted the referee and he missed Kazarian being thrown out. Kazarian then got back in the ring and eliminated Lethal.
– The Briscoes defeated The Kingdom
Vinny Marseglia and the returning TK O’Ryan were the Kingdom team in this match.
– Karen Q defeated Sumie Sakai in a Women of Honor match
Q called out Deonna Purrazzo, who was on guest commentary, after the match leading to a brawl.
– War Machine defeated Coast 2 Coast and The Tempura Boyz in a tornado tag match
– Flip Gordon defeated Corey Hollis
– ROH World Champion Cody defeated Frankie Kazarian to retain his title
Kazarian got the title match from winning the Honor Rumble earlier in the night.
– Search and Destroy (Chris Sabin, Alex Shelley, Jay White & Jonathan Gresham) defeated The Young Bucks & Guerrillas of Destiny
– The crowd was tiny compared to Friday night’s pay-per-view. There were a lot of empty seats and the crowd was asked to move to face the hard cam.
– The tapings opened with The Addiction running down the Lowell crowd and turning heel. Christopher Daniels invoked his rematch clause, and vowed to win the title and then quit the company. There were some direct references to NXT, so this may get edited.
– ROH Six-Man Tag Team Champions Dalton Castle & The Boys defeated Coast 2 Coast & Flip Gordon to retain their titles
Castle pinned Leon St. Giovanni after hitting the Bang-a-Rang. There was lots of comedy with The Boys.
– Matt Taven defeated Ultimo Guerrero
Taven got the pin after a ref distraction. The crowd was hot for Guerrero.
– Motor City Machine Guns defeated War Machine
They had a great match.
– Kris Wolf defeated Sumie Sakai in a Women of Honor match
Wolf got the pin after a bunch of cradle reversals. Some streamers hit her in the head when the match started. Sakai took most of the match and used Wolf’s tail for heat.
– Cody Rhodes came out alone for a promo. He praised the crowd for loving him, then buried Sinclair Broadcasting for not addressing him as champ or Mr. Rhodes.
He said Daniels has lost his smile (it’s been about 20 years since those words were first uttered in the Lowell Memorial Auditorium by Shawn Michaels on Thursday Raw Thursday). He said that Daniels is getting his rematch tonight — and it’s in a two-out-of-three falls match.
– Punishment Martinez defeated Jonathan Gresham
They had a standard big guy vs. little guy match. Gresham doesn’t even come up to Martinez’s shoulders. He worked on Martinez’s knee to get some shine, but Martinez made a comeback after powerbombing him on the apron in a brutal spot.
Jay White ended up making the save for Gresham.
– Cheeseburger & Jay Diesel defeated The Tempura Boyz
Cheeseburger almost got carried off by groupies in an angle after the match before security interrupted. Will Ferrara then ran out, attacked Cheeseburger, and fled through the crowd.
– The Young Bucks & Hangman Page defeated The Briscoes & Bully Ray
There were two ref bumps and Marty Scurll whacked one of the Briscoes with an umbrella. Page then fell on the Briscoe for a cover. The Briscoes went insane after the match and attacked ring crew members at ringside and started whipping a chain around.
– Shane Taylor jumped someone from behind as they came down to the ring for a match. Taylor beat him down and walked out. The person who he attacked didn’t get music, a video, or even an introduction.
– Jenny Rose defeated Mandy Leon in a Women of Honor match
Rose won with a back body drop.
– The Bullet Club entered for a promo without Cody or Scurll. Matt Jackson said ROH has no challengers for the tag titles, then somehow booked themselves into a match for the six-man belts against Castle & The Boys. They then introduced Scurll for the next match.
– Marty Scurll defeated Vinny Marseglia, Josh Woods, Will Ferrara, El Terrible, and Frankie Kazarian in a Six-Man Mayhem match
Scurll spent most of the match breaking up pins and hovering outside waiting to strike. Shane Taylor randomly came in and destroyed people. Woods was taken to the back by trainers mid-way through. Kazarian hit a cutter on Marseglia, but Scurll ended up stealing the pin.
– Beer City Bruiser defeated Brian Milonas
Bruiser won with a frog splash. Silas Young had a sign saying that it’s been 29 days without a workplace safety accident.
After the match, Young said it has been 29 days since Best in the World and no one has seen Jay Lethal since then.
– ROH Television Champion KUSHIDA defeated Jay White to retain his title
KUSHIDA retained after hitting the Back to the Future.
– The announcement was made that the Cody vs. Daniels rematch is coming at this taping.
– Silas Young and Bruiser came out with a sign that said it’s now been 36 days. Someone in the audience screamed that it’s only been one day.
– Karen Q defeated Deonna Purrazzo and Kelly Klein in a Women of Honor match
Karen Q got a surprise roll-up.
– Silas Young and Bruiser were back out. In 15 minutes, the sign now read that it’s been 43 days. Lethal entered (without taped ribs or anything) and cleaned house. He beat up Young and went to whack him with a keg, but security ran in and broke it up.
– ROH World Champion Cody defeated Christopher Daniels in a two-out-of-three falls match to retain his title
Cody won the first two falls to retain. He basically worked as a super babyface.
The first fall saw Daniels injuring Cody with the barricade, but Cody made a comeback with an arm drag off the top turnbuckle. Daniels shoved Cody into Todd Sinclair, then low blows were exchanged (with Daniels striking first). Kazarian ran in with a chair and threw it in, but Scurll made the save for Cody.
Daniels tried to use the chair until he got rolled up by Cody for the first fall.
Daniels immediately hit Cody with the chair before the next fall started and laid into him as the second fall began. Cody was thrown into the barricades and got a 19 count before coming in. He eventually hit the Cross Rhodes and took the second fall.
Bullet Club came out to celebrate as the tapings ended.

ROH concluded its War of the Worlds tour on Sunday night at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Four television episodes were taped, including the 300th episode.
Episode One —
– The show opened with The Young Bucks and Hangman Page doing a promo. They introduced Marty Scurll as the new Bullet Club member. Scurll said Adam Cole never saw it coming. Cole came out and said Bullet Club has a new enemy. Hangman Page challenged him to a match and Cole accepted.
– Josh Woods defeated David Starr
I think Starr was supposed to be a heel and Woods was supposed to be a face, but the crowd hated Woods and loved Starr. Starr was much better and Woods still has a little ways to go. Woods won with a rolling kneebar.
– Silas Young and Beer City Bruiser called out Jay Lethal. Lethal wanted a fight with Young, but he got a match with Beer City Bruiser instead.
– Jay Lethal defeated Beer City Bruiser by DQ
This was a decent match. Lethal had his knee taped up here from the moonsault onto the figure four at the War of the Worlds PPV, but he didn’t later on so it was probably a storyline injury. Lethal ended up on the outside, where Young (who was on commentary) started brawling with him for the DQ. Young and Bruiser teamed up on Lethal until Bobby Fish made the save.
– Cody came out for a promo. He said he had Lethal’s shoulders pinned to the mat in the figure four at the PPV, so he should be champion and wants to face Christopher Daniels.
– Cody defeated Frankie Kazarian
This was a good TV main event, with Cody winning after hitting Cross Rhodes. Hangman Page came down and they beat up Kazarian until Daniels made the save. It was weird that this had the same angle as the last match.
Episode Two —
– War Machine defeated Cheeseburger & Will Ferrara
The fans were chanting “Please don’t die” before the match started. The smaller guys got a little bit of offense and made a small comeback, but the match was mostly War Machine destroying the two of them.
War Machine did the Meng/Barbarian backdrop into a powerbomb spot, but Cheeseburger kicked out and the place went crazy. War Machine then hit the pop-up powerslam to win. They called out The Young Bucks and said they want the ROH tag titles.
This was pretty insane. Naito was mega over with basically everything he did the entire match. There was a lot of comedy with him and Bully Ray at the start. It eventually broke down into a big eight-man brawl.
Bully Ray did the “Get the tables” chant and went outside to look for tables, but while he was out of the ring, the Boys did something accidentally to Jay Briscoe and BUSHI hit him with the mist and cradled him for the flash pin.
Jay was livid with Castle and the Boys after the match and they argued to the back. Naito did his big LIJ post-match promo and the crowd loved it.
– Hangman Page defeated Adam Cole
They had a really good match. It went back and forth and there were a lot of crazy near falls towards the end. Cole went for the Panama Destroyer, but Page caught him and hit the Omori Driver. He then hit it again to win.
Page took off Todd Sinclair’s belt and started whipping Cole with it, but Kazarian came out to make the save. Cole started to have his moment again, then Scurll interrupted him and said it’s them two in a Philadelphia street fight in the dark match main event.
Episode Three —
– The Young Bucks and Hangman Page entered. Roppongi Vice then made their way out, saying they have a third man. Trent Barreta said it’s his real best friend, and it’s the Kentucky Gentleman Chuck Taylor! The place went crazy.
– Roppongi Vice & Chuck Taylor defeated The Young Bucks & Hangman Page
This was another insane match. It was basically modeled after a Young Bucks six-man in PWG. There were tons of insane moves and spots. Dissension was teased between Rocky Romero, Barreta, and Taylor, but they were all unified by the end.
The ending came when the Bucks were superkicking everyone and went to finish off Taylor with the Meltzer Driver, but Taylor hit the Awful Waffle and pinned Matt Jackson. The babyfaces all hugged after.
– Jonathan Gresham & Jay White vs. Shane Taylor & Rhett Titus ended in a DQ
White got more of a reaction here than previously, so the match against Will Ospreay at the War of the Worlds PPV probably turned some heads. This was an okay match, with Kenny King making his return and interfering for the DQ. Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin ran in and there was this huge crazy eight-man pull-apart and security guards were getting wiped out left and right.
They set up Search and Destroy (Sabin, Shelley, Gresham & White) vs. The Rebellion (Taylor, Titus, King & Coleman) at the next PPV where the losing team has to disband.
– KUSHIDA defeated Marty Scurll to win the ROH World Television Championship
They had a good TV main event, though it wasn’t on the upper-tier level that these two could probably do. There was a lot of technical work with the arms for both guys, along with some good submission teases. Scurll set up for the chicken wing until the lights went out. When they came back on, Cole was on the apron in Scurll’s ring gear with the jacket and creepy bird mask.
Scurll was distracted, then KUSHIDA hit a tornado DDT and a small package driver to win the TV title.
Episode Four —
– Silas Young & Beer City Bruiser defeated Jay Lethal & Bobby Fish
Another okay match here. There was some comedy with Bruiser where they made him run the ropes and he got blown up several times. It eventually got into a two-on-one where Lethal hit Bruiser with the Lethal Injection, but Young caught him with the TKO and pinned him.
– The Kingdom (Matt Taven & Vinny Marseglia) defeated The Boys
TK O’Ryan was out on crutches. They beat down the Boys before the match started. It seemed like they were getting revenge on the Boys because they were their opponents when O’Ryan got injured. There wasn’t much to the match. Jay Briscoe ran down to confront Castle, with Bully Ray and Mark Briscoe having to pull him back.
– Punishment Martinez defeated Joey Daddiego
Martinez won with a sit-out chokeslam in about a minute. Cheeseburger and Ferrara came down before being destroyed by Martinez. Jay White then made the save and ran him off.
– Hiroshi Tanahashi & The Addiction defeated Hirooki Goto, Will Ospreay & Gedo
Ospreay was super over, I’d say more so than Tanahashi. This wasn’t as crazy as the Bucks match from earlier, but it was a very fun six-man. Gedo and Daniels did some comedy, teasing that Daniels was Curry Man. Daniels eventually pinned Gedo after Tanahashi hit a High Fly Flow and he hit the BME.
Cody was on commentary and him and Hangman Page attacked Daniels and Kazarian after. Page kept whipping Kazarian and Cody laid out Daniels with the title belt.
Dark Match —
– Marty Scurll defeated Adam Cole in a Philadelphia street fight
This was taped for the ROH website, probably as a VOD or something. It was a fun match with some comedy and brawling. Scurll tried a One Winged Angel and the Styles Clash, but Cole countered and instead hit a Bloody Sunday DDT for the Bullet Club leader homage. The Young Bucks ran down and laid out Cole, but he was able to fight them off and double superkicked them off the apron and through a table.
Cody ran in and tried the old school powder spot before getting it knocked back in his face. Finally, Scurll had Cole on the ground. He blasted him with superkicks and umbrella shots. Cole gave him the double middle fingers and Scurll broke both fingers, did some elbows, then knocked him out in the chicken wing to win.
Cole gave a speech to the fans after the match. He said ROH was what made him fall in love with wrestling, and no matter what happens, ROH will be his home.
