Rick Ross teases future AEW appearances, explains notable Keith Lee observation

In case you missed it, Rick Ross noticed just how big Keith Lee is on AEW Dynamite this week.

The famous rapper called into Busted Open Radio on Thursday and was asked about the segment and dropped an interesting line to tease future involvement with AEW.

“I got up close on Keith Lee and realized how big his traps was,” Ross said. “Me up close to him, he looks like he weighs between 360-370.”

On Wednesday, Ross mediated a segment between Lee and Swerve Strickland and remarked out loud that Lee is a “big motherf***er” — one that went uncensored during the live broadcast.

Bully Ray asked Ross more about his notable remark.

“It was a gift for me to be there, but I love AEW but it was a huge gift and when I got in there, I may have had other things on my mind, but when Keith Lee turned his back to me and I realized the size and width of his shoulders and his trapezoids, I just had to express my heart. He is a big motherf***er. He really is.”

Ross then teased future appearances in the company as he likes the owner.

“It’s a good chance that AEW will get more gifts. I like Tony Khan. Tony Khan is a cool motherf***er, you know what I mean? I feel the energy. One time for all the real wrestling fans. One time for all the true fans that stood out in the cold to make it inside that arena. The ones who wear their plastic masks, the ones who drag their belts on the cement as they walk into the arena. I love you guys.”

Co-host Tommy Dreamer asked Ross if he is a wrestling fan.

“Of course, I am. What kind of question is that? I started watching wrestling…my grandmother used to have me watching wrestling. She used to chew snuff and watch wrestling back when the wrestlers were barefoot. They didn’t wear shoes if you know what I’m talking about,” he said while adding that he considers Jimmy Snuka a legend.

Rick Ross to mediate Swerve, Keith Lee face-to-face on AEW Dynamite

Rick Ross will mediate the face-to-face meeting between Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland on Wednesday’s Dynamite.

Tony Khan announced Ross’ inclusion on Tuesday afternoon.

“Tomorrow on @TBSNetwork don’t miss Wednesday Night #AEWDynamite: Holiday Bash!,” he wrote. “We’ll be celebrating Wednesday with our annual #HolidayBash just days before Christmas, a great night of AEW stars & great wrestling + @RickRoss will mediate the meeting between Keith Lee and Swerve!”

Though their partnership has always been tenuous, Swerve and Lee have shown even more dissension as a team since Full Gear, when Keith Lee walked out of their match against The Acclaimed, which allowed The Acclaimed to pick up the victory. At ROH Final Battle earlier this month, it was Swerve who walked out on Lee during their match against Shane Taylor and JD Griffey. Despite that, Lee was still able to score the win.

Here’s the updated lineup for Wednesday’s show:

  • AEW Women’s Champion Jamie Hayter defends against Hikaru Shida
  • FTR vs. Gunn Club
  • Death Triangle vs. The Elite in a no DQ match (match 5 in the best of 7 series for the AEW Trios titles)
  • Swerve Strickland/Keith Lee face-to-face with Rick Ross mediating
  • Bryan Danielson appearance
  • Ricky Starks appearance
